Stopped into Pinnies early afternoon while exploring the town and reading good reviews about the place. It is in a nice quiet street with outdoor seating and a charming setup however I was sadly disappointed. I had a pot of tea and scone.. and perhaps if this was my first tea shop visit during my UK trip I may have rated the scones higher however having become a bit of a scone expert over the past 4 weeks I had to compare it against my previous experiences and sadly it did not rate particularly well. The most disappointing part of my visit however was how disorganised they were. The counter area was a mess with spillages over both the worktop and floor, all the indoor tables and half the outdoor tables were full of leftovers - it did not look pleasant and only left me a choice of 2 empty tables. The young girl serving appeared stressed asking me for my order within moments of me walking in, perhaps she mistook me for a regular, and did not offer me either a menu or table. My tea and scone was delivered by a more mature woman who was polite however did not leave me feeling welcomed or valued in any way.

First time eating at Pinnies despite it being on my wish list - and near enough on my doorstep - for some time. Went with a friend on Friday and they were absolutely lovely. Treated us like old friends. Food was good and fairly priced, with a good variety of light lunches and fresh bakes. The book swap bookshelves outside are just an added extra gem, a little like the telephone box libraries you can leave and take books as you wish. I will definitely be back!

I entered that cafe and walked to the counter and a member of staff looked at me and disapeared to the kitchen area at the back. My husband and I went here Saturday morning for tea and cake. We hadn't been in there before, we were greeted as we walked in and I asked to see what cakes they have. They had a select few and the lady who I think was the owner told us which cakes she had and then asked us to take a seat and she would come to us. I ordered tea and a coffee for my husband, we then ordered a slice of Mango and coconut cake! I don't usually eat cake but it looked delish! A lovely pot of tea and plenty of it and the cake was cake heaven!! The sponge was melt in your mouth and was made by a lady sitting in the café so was fresh which always makes a difference. Many cake shops claim their cakes are fresh on the day but you can tell by the texture if they are not. a delightful find and I will be going back soon with my kids as my daughter loves omelettes and they looked very good!

Lovely cafe. Quite limited menu, but charming and helpful staff, tea made just as I like it (and in a pot, complete with china cup and saucer) (I so hate being presented with a cup of water off the boil and a tea-bag....some places would be asking me to cook my own bacon next!), Tasty sandwich, the boys tucked into their meals, and all reasonably priced. I have been to Pinnies many times and my friend and I chose it as the perfect location for her baby shower as it is close to her home and as people would be coming from all over the country it is easy to get to. I booked Pinnies for a Sunday in April to have private hire, this was arranged months ago, and agreed a price per person for food and a hire fee. I explained that It would take a while to collect this as there were approximately 17 people attending. They explained that the deposit would need to be paid a week before which I agreed would be fine. A couple of weeks ago a lady from Pinnies called me to confirm that we definitely still wanted the booking to which I confirmed that we did and said I would pay all of the money the week before. This morning I made a call to Pinnies to confirm I would be in on Saturday with the payment. I then received a voicemail from them saying that they had cancelled my booking as they hadn't heard from me! I immediately called back and they said that they had assumed I didn't want it anymore!! I couldn't believe it, after weeks and weeks of organising and planning they just cancelled it and couldn't give a monkeys that they had let down some valued, local customers! When I said that it was absolutely disgraceful the lady said they tried to phone me, which they absolutely did not! She said they were going to have a re-furb and assumed that we weren't going to need the booking so just arranged to go ahead, not once was I called and informed of this. I made this booking with Pinnies in good faith and I kept up my end of the bargain by collecting the money and organising everything and I simply cannot believe that they would let down a customer like this and such late notice! And they didn't even care! I now have the difficult and time consuming task of finding a new venue for next week. I will absolutely not be using Pinnies in the future and I certainly wont be recommending them to anyone! Absolutely disgusting treatment of their customers, un-ethical behaviour, un-reliable, rude staff... I could go on! Needless to say I am absolutely livid and extremely let down, totally unacceptable. Think twice before considering Pinnies!

Have been here for lunch on several occasions, and the service is friendly, food is very good value and tasty. Always very busy.Would thoroughly recommend any of the breakfasts (the breakfast rolls are particularly good value), which are available all day.I understand that the space is limited, but the tables could probably be arranged in a slightly better way, as the larger tables accommodate far too many people for the amount of people actually sitting there, leaving only tiny tables in the remaining space tiny. With a little rearrangement this would definitely be 5/5.

My wife and I discovered this little café almost by accident. We decided to walk in the driving rain from Huntingdon to explore Godmanchester and were about to turn back when we noticed the Pinnies sign. We were greeted by the friendly ladies who mentioned that there was no hurry to order until we had dried off a bit. We enjoyed their breakfasts. The fried eggs were cooked perfectly with runny yolks and there was a choice of different breads for toast instead of the standard white. My wife is "into" craft and design and was particularly impressed by the creative décor. Indeed sitting at one of the tables gazing out of the window you could easily imagine being in any picturesque village you choose. The town appeared very quiet but the café seemed to be the hubbub and focal point. Many of the customers seemed regulars but welcomed and chatted with strangers such as ourselves.Wish the owners and staff of this little café every success and look forward to visiting again soon.

The menu is extensive but if what you want is not there just ask and the staff will go out of their way to make it for you. All the ingredients are locally sourced and food is freshly made on the premises. As the food was so good my only problems were deciding what to have and knowing when to stop eating. Nothing is too much trouble in this tea room. Special dietary needs, they do their best for you. Omelettes are my favourite, also smoked salmon with scrambled egg. They love children you would think you were in Italy. If you happen to go in near closing time bear in mind some foods may not be available but they will always find some tea and cake. Keep smiling ladies (and Lewis) you are wonderful.

I walked in after reading the positive reviews for a lovely ( or so I thought) sunny afternoon coffee with my husband. The tables in the window that I wished to sit in appeared to be blocked off by chairs, so to be polite I asked if it would be ok to move them to gain access. I was told that they had been placed there as they had just mopped the floor and didn't want anyone to slip. It was obvious the floor had long since dried so I told them - with a smile - and asked again if we might sit there. The young waiter spoke briefly to a woman who I assume was the manager and I just heard ' No'. I still smiled and told her it had dried and she said 'we have cleaned it ready for tomorrow and don't want the area used'. So as I did not wish to obviously put them out any further we took our leave and found a fabulous new place around the corner called Serendipity where I am currently enjoying the best Vanilla Latte and cake we have had in a long while. Bright, sunny and with friendly staff...who let you sit wherever you wish...
