Ping Pong in City of London, Westminster

Ping pong never lets me down! Food is always made with good quality and presentation, and staff is always kind and helpful. This time I went with my sister and Mohan was so sweet and quick to attend to us! Booking for my sister’s birthday party too!

Changed it from 100% to fusion. A bit disappointing if I have to be honest.

Very fine Chinese food at fair prices. The dumplings were especially great. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant was almost empty on Sunday evening, which was a bit strange. The round tables are great, there were 8 of us at one table. Overall recommended, and better than most restaurants in nearby China Town.

Love it here. The food is delicious and service is quick. Staff are really friendly and the facilities are very clean.

Went here for a business dinner a few weeks ago. Wasn't big on the menu layout but everything else was amazing. The noodle soup was really delicious and came out quick, the edamame was done perfectly and the seaweed salad was incredible. Best ping pong I think I've visted

Will certainly not be going here again due to a 'management fee' being added to the bill. What on earth is this about? One way to get round not giving your staff tips that they have well and truly worked for. Yes, they have worked for their tips, which we, as customers give generously, but No, never again. You are robbing uour staff. It is absolutely disgusting and I hope everyone of them walk out and go where they will be appreciated. Food was just so so, but the staff were lovely.

I was going to give it 4 stars, but now I read it's going to add nearly 20% to the food bill as a so called 'management charge'. Disgraceful! Shocking! Certainly will NOT be back in their restaurants. I would encourage others to do likewise.

I wanted to go with 6 next weekend but they are abusing staff seemingly on the tip policy. I decided not to book based on the Guardian article today. Staff should get 100% of the tip. What is a "brand charge"?

Really looking forward to Ping Pong on visit to city. What a sorry episode it was. Made to feel like kids were not welcome, cleaning and rubbing everything they touched. Food was cold and not great on the flavour. To my horror there was chewing gum stuck to the bottom on my Partner's plate. yuck, still turns my tummy, when I think about it. A disaster from start to finish.

i just ate here and learnt that they are taking the service charge for themselves after the law changes. they will call it a brand charge. I pay a service charge to the waiting staff not to the brand management. I will not be eating here again.

Amazing dim sums. Bit dry though, compared to last time. The cocktails are top notch!

Food was amazing, drinks were amazing and Muaz our server was so helpful- what a wonderful waiter, you made us feel so at home and gave us such a lovely night!

Some of the vegetarian options are very nice but the fish or prawn options just fell out of the gyoza pastry. We went for the Sunday deal which was quite expensive and the whole table has to order the same deal which is a bit limiting

It's honestly a difficult place to understand. Food ok, I'll make that clear straight away. Incomprehensible service, it seemed like we were bothering him. As soon as we arrived, without having booked, they offered us 4 seats at the counter (not very comfortable with children) saying that all the other tables were booked. Everyone. Including the room below that is more empty than full. After 5 minutes one of the reserved tables was magically divided, half given to a couple who had just entered and then very kindly, a part to us too. Very little empathy.

I am happy to pay extra for overpriced gluten free dim sum (we spent around £63 for 2 of us for dinner), but unfortunately I did NOT feel good afterwards and it messed me up for a week after. PROS - Service was friendly - The dumplings and har gaos were very good CONS - Cross contamination for sure. Depends how sensitive you are if you have an intolerance/are a coeliac. I've been before and felt fine the first time, but this time I did not - As someone who is visually impaired, I know the world is not designed for us, but it's always such a struggle walking into a dark restaurant with barely any lighting. - The menu does not show the number of items that you get with each dish. We had to keep asking how many dumplings etc. that would come with each dish and then we just gave up asking. - But we should have perservered because we definitely would not have got the ribs if we had known. That is an outrageous price for 4 measly, sub par ribs. We genuinely felt robbed. - There are some sets that are pretty good deals, but we didn't realise you have to pre-order them before you get there or you can't order them. Considering it didn't look like there was anything different that wasn't on the menu already, it's pretty ridiculous - Overpriced. Again, would have been worth it, but quite disappointed that we paid this much because it's gluten free, so to pay this price and then feel sick after was sad :(

Food was on point and met with my expectations. I haven't visited for more than a year and was particularly looking forward to eating here. Paul's service was exceptional. So shout out to Ping Pong, Soho for great food, service and atmosphere 👌. I think it should offer better value for money though. Our bill came to just under £100 which did include 3 cocktails but one of the dishes was hardly touched and so I would've expected for this to be credited but we were in a rush to leave and didn't have time to raise this with the waiter. In some restaurants they would've offered to deduct this. A good experience nonetheless.

Very tasty DimSum...fast service .Unfortunately very loud and very warm

The food was decent, but they've really trimmed down the menu, making the bottomless deal a lot less appealing. What's worse, some of my all-time favorites are gone for good. But the real dealbreaker this time was the service. I've been here loads before and always had a good time with the food, but this visit just left a bad taste. It felt like we were a huge inconvenience to our waiter. Had to keep asking repeatedly for simple things like sauces and forks (eg. when I asked for cutlery, he only bought one set while we are clearly 2 people on the table) and he looked super annoyed every single time. Even to place the order for the next set of dishes we had to try and get the waiter's attention multiple times, it made the dining experience stressful. It got so uncomfortable that I just lost my appetite and had to leave. Honestly, after how many times I've enjoyed this place, this experience was a real letdown. Definitely not rushing back anytime soon. Total mess.

The shrimp dim sum was very delicious! The noodles in the white soup were almost the same as Japanese soft "udon". Personally, I think it would be even better if there was a menu with thin and chewy noodles!

First time trying, I can definitely say that they had various vegetarian options to pick from. Food was top notch and piping hot when it arrived. We did the individual set menu per person and the prices worked very well. Will definitely return again!

First time at Ping Pong and we were not so happy. While looking for a bottomless or all you can eat restaurant, £26.95 seemed like a good deal considering it was dim sum. I already knew the menu would be limited from the website, we did our research. But when we were finished, we calculated the food to see if it was worth it and it was actually cheaper to pay for the individual items. The whole point of an all you can eat type offer is that the customers save money but we felt scammed. There were no drinks included and the items you can pick from were basically the cheapest or probably the least popular. We even got 4 rounds of food and probably could’ve had more if the service was fast enough. Let me elaborate, we asked for a jug of water with a cola at the start, the cola came, water didn’t. Then when ordering our next dim sum, we asked for water again. After a few minutes, we asked another waiter and then 2 more times, waited about 20 minutes for them to give us 2 half empty glasses of warm tap water when we even specified we would like ice. Ordering our next round, we asked for the jug with iced tap water, which again took 3 requests and 10 minutes to get. Arrived without ice but we didn’t care we were eating all the sodium filled food and needed hydration. It’s like the servers were not paying any attention or just didn’t know how to wait tables. The food itself was not bad but I couldn’t tell if it really was handmade or just frozen and steamed/cooked to order. The buns were nice and fluffy but the rest was nothing special and the lazy sumday offer is a joke. The least they could do is include a soft drink per person or give you more options to choose from. We had nearly one of everything (11 plates) and it was still cheaper to pay for each plate. I would rather not say anything than say something bad when leaving a review, so it should go to show that’s how disappointing it was.

There was an obnoxiously loud DJ playing and there was nothing on the website or booking that notified us that this would happen. I had been here before and there had been no DJ. We couldn't hear each other and my mum is half deaf so this made for an especially difficult atmosphere for her. When we asked to move to a quieter area we were told all tables were full although it didn't look like it. Eventually we were moved outside (it was freezing cold) and my mums food never arrived. We asked multiples times where it was and my dad and I had finished ours. Eventually a new waiter came and told us she had been told the wrong menu description and that they were not serving that particular food today. We also had to ask multiple times for water. Appalling service, waiters seemed like they couldn't care less.

i used to eat here quite regularly but had not been in for a while. I wasn’t given the usual dipping sauces which one would expect to have with dim sum. At the end the sauces showed up on the bill as comlementaty but they were never given. I queried thr server about this and she said had i asked i would have been given the sauces but they no longer gave them out. Why they still appear on the bill even if complimentary is beyond me. As i left i noticed many of the dipping sauces in trays ready to serve which also made no sense. The duck spring rolls were overly fatty and inedible. Sloppy food and service which needs a bit of an overhaul

It was delicious, but it felt a bit expensive, right? Set menu + service charge combined came to £17.15. The yellow dumplings were delicious and the shrimp dumplings were also delicious! (The dessert in the photo includes the set menu x)

Food was good, very reasonably priced, ambience is chilled & not loud, quick service that's for sure on our night, drinks were well made, recommend for a dinner out & we've had deliveries since our visit, same good food,

SCAM....sneaky trick...menu prices don't actually include VAT, so get ready for a little nasty surprise with the bill (when they are least hoping you will kick up about it or tap that plastic without checking.) PingPong should just do what 99.99% of all restaurants do and include it in the price on the menu, or disclose it will be added later on the menu. Avoid unless you are happy to have an extra 35% they top on your bill (adding in the service as well.)

This place is easy to make reservations. The food was good and not too crowded. The alcohol was okay and the food choice for gluten-free is a bit limited.

First time visiting and only went due to trip advisor reviews. In all honesty, felt a little disappointed. It was nice, but not amazing .... which is what I was hoping for. Large and tastefully presented restaurant, which at early lunchtime did lack ambience, and there was some banging intermittently from staff doing some work downstairs. It was our first visit so we were kindly told how to order. We ordered a selection of dim sum which were very nice, in particular the black prawn dumpling, fried chicken, and duck spring rolls ....all very good. Service was swift but didn't feel authentically asian.

Worst bottomless brunch ever. They just have two options of cocktails: strong rum or lichee gin. It used to be good, the food menu is half of what it used to be. Very disappointing...won't never ever come back to this place

We didn't book so ended up on the bar which was OK. The decor is lovely really atmospheric. Seats are a little uncomfortable but I guess traditional. Food was great but as a coeliac really limiting for choice. Anything fried is a no although its stated on their menu as gf. I only know that from last time I was there and wasn't told this time which isn't good. Also things that should be gluten free weren't like broccoli which is a missed opportunity. So close to being amazing, just need to work on getting a gf fryer and more gluten free options! Still recommend though and will go again 👌

Having seen this the day before I promised myself to go and try it. Beautifully decorated restaurant, friendly staff and an amazing menu. As I’ve not been before, it was all explained to me as to what I needed to do an ordering was super simple. They even had some specials on for Chinese New Year, which were also explained. I went for the set menu as it was a good selection to try. The starter was delicious but I also opted for one of the New Year specials, the Dragon Balls. These were also super tasty and really different. The main course came really hot in a steamer basket. everything was super tasty, I even had room for a Mochi as dessert. Would recommend this place if you want some really tasty eat at not exorbitant prices.

I had been to ping pong Soho multiple times and they never failed to deliver in terms of food, quick service. I always love their dumplings specially spicy vegetable dumpling being my favourite, and being vegetarian they have multiple options too- Vegetable spring roll, vegetable bun, chilli wanton with spinach & mushroom, mushroom & leak dumpling, spinach & mushroom griddled dumpling. Their dumplings and vegetable buns are served so warm & hot which adds up to the taste. In mocktails I loved their lychee & rose drink. Only disappointment was their tofu creamy noodles soup which was sore to eyes ( as if cooked earthworms) & highly unappetising. I will keep on visiting again & again & have already recommended to many friends and came so many times with different friends as their big round table makes it so easy ti mingle in large groups unlike recrangular tables.

A setting with lots of people and can be noisy. But friendly. The server was friendly, we were well received. Eating at the bar in front of the service is nice and easier to ask the waiter for things. Food wise. Lots of different flavors depending on each person. The menu is presented as a List and we check according to the choices. Everything was good. A little lack of originality on the desserts. The prices are a bit expensive though. The cocktails are very good, not too sweet, but also a little expensive. Overall it's a good place... but if you're really hungry it can get expensive. Eat light for 40e per person with drink.. Remember to book because the tables are very popular

Best dim sum in Soho with amazing ambience!

Amazing food, prices actually decent for the quality. Some of the best food I've ever had, everything I tried was great. The katsu curry was similar price to wagamuma but 5x as good

I came here all the way from Southend for a brunch for our friends birthday and my friend is severely disabled which means she can’t walk in a straight line and they tried to tell us we cant drink here because we are all drunk. I will be reporting this higher and taking it further disgusting behaviour. This place discriminates disabled people never go here

The food was good - however what spoilt it for me was (although I had barely been there for 1 hour), that as soon as I had just about finished my food and was enjoying drinking my flowering tea, I was handed the bill straight away. When I returned from the bathroom, my half-full pot of tea had been taken away. I don’t expect to be rushed when I pay for a meal especially as I had barely been there for 1 hour. Don’t rush your customers when they have just about swallowed their last mouthful!

Decided to enjoy another lazy Sunday here at Ping Pong where you can easily spend a few hours experiencing some fantastic (all you can eat) dim sum. The selection is varied and there is something for everybody and everything was tasty and delicious. The service by lihan was also spot on , so if you're a fan of dim sum and don't want to spend a small fortune, this is the place to try!

Amazing brunch, great value for money! The food was brilliant, accommodating for gluten free and vegetarian! The service was perfect, specially from our waiter lihan. He was really helpful ! Drinks were strong and flowing. Great DJ - would definitely recommend and return

It depends on what you want : ) If you are a foodie and after authentic taste of Hong Kong or Canton, then this may not be a place for you. On the other hand, if you are in central London with friends on a evening out and want a nice place to sit and chat at lunch or in early evening before more bar hooping, and fancy some Westernised East Asian nibbles, this is a decent option.

It doesn’t look bad, but the food is portions for Sparrows, I ordered double cognac Corvozia and they poured one portion, the menu is incomprehensible, very confusing regarding payment, not very good .

Quite disappointing experience! I used to go here many years ago when I lived in London and I was excited to go back on this trip but found the place completely changed for the worst: 1. No place for coats - had to sit in a stool on top of my coat bag and scarf 2. Chicken xiaolombaos were badly tasting, and plain didn’t come with the sauce have to ask for extra soy and chilli sauce 3. Gyozas were very tasty but you only get 3 per main dish - a total rip off 4. I recommend the seaweed and the broccoli stems, very good 5. The moktail (coconut, pineapple and lime) was poorly made 6. Service was mediocre - the waitress couldn’t recommend a dish when I asked 7. Generally overpriced and lacking authenticity I would not go back!

Delicious dim sums with plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. In vegetarian dishes, I highly recommend the mushroom & spinach griddled dumpings, spring rolls and mushroom & leek dumpling. Loved the bao buns from some of the previous festive menus as well. I tried the litchi & rose cocktail which was absolutely delicious! The service is excellent. Despite being a busy Friday night in Soho, it made for a brilliant date night spot!

None of my party of about 15/20 had ever been to this restaurant before so we didn't understand anything about the order process and it is a bit confusing when you get there but our waitress Zsanett was so so so amazing. She asked if we new how to order and we explained we hadn't been here before, she then explained the whole process to us and separated our table into groups of 4/5 so we could all hear and understand her better. She made the order process so easy to understand and was able to answer any questions we had for her and also gave really helpful advice about the sizes of the portions and how much we each should order. For dealing with a huge group of people she remained so calm and gave us all the best experience we could've had at Ping Pong. I am a waitress myself so could understand having to explain a whole system to 20 people must have been stressful and it was one week before christmas so the place was so busy!! but she was amazing!! She also dealt so well with all of us wanting to pay separately which must've been such a hassle but she was so wonderful! Will definitely recommend this place to others as staff, drinks and food were all absolutely amazing!!! All 20 of us wanted to say thank you Zsanett!!

Never again. Food fairly good but twice now, once with my partner and again when I went with my children they have, despite both times us paying over £80 and being there an hour at most, waited until I'd gone to the toilet before a male staff member harassed my partner to leave and the second time, again when I'd left the table briefly, cleared everything including an obviously unfinished glass of wine then tried to ignore me when I questioned them about it. Terrible service, rude and only care about getting your money and getting you to leave ASAP. Avoid

The service here was awful. We were told we HAD to leave (after 45 minutes) and were told the table we had was reserved, despite there being many many empty tables around us, and no one waiting in the bar area. We were made to feel like an inconvenience despite spending a very significant amount of money. Staff were rude and it was clear the customer is not important, it's all about the money. We will not be returning.

Last time I went there with my partner, spent 80 quid, when I left to go to the toilet front of house staff hassled her to leave, saying they needed the table. We'd been there an hour tops. Today went with my two lads, spent 90 quid, there an hour again tops, went to the toilet while my boys were there and they'd cleared everything including my clearly unfinished wine glass. When I asked a waiter about he ignored which pissed me off even more. Never going I there again, rude greedy ignorant staff

The food was very well done but we weren't served for nearly 20 minutes with servers not meeting our eyes and we eventually has to raise our hand like we were in school in order to give them our menu, without any apology Our drinks were then also served halfway through the meal. No matter how good the food at this place is, it's no good if we can't eat any of it for the majority of the time we're there. A real shame as I think management focused on providing better training to their servers, this would have been a really great experience.

Had dinner here last week. What an excellent service by Mr.Paul. Celebrated my friend’s bday and they had arranged a special dessert as a compliment. Delicious food and amazing cocktails!

Dark and seductive dining experience with fantastic options for gluten free dim sum! Went with four people and food portions were small but easily reordered and the staff was quick so little wait time between ordering and receiving the food. Will visit again x

Zsanett is beyond incredible! When we found out she was only in training we were shocked, we thought she was the manager! Honestly an incredible experience and I just wish she was the manager because this place would be so much better with her on the management team. She looks after the guests with so much passion and love!

Prob as Asian, one of the sad place for dim sum. Quality is below par Honestly it’s more as a Soho HiPHop places with fancy decoration Not a bad place if u a fan of these atmosphere But if u a looking for real Chinese dim sum. It’s not here Sorry It’s a bar type place where people can chat and have nice talk with some dim sum in soho I won’t recommend if u a looking for quality food. But if u a looking for a place to stop and hang out with friends with few drinks at bar table. Might be one of the choices

Trading on former glories sadly. The food is still pretty good but a menu which now feels quite outdated and far from the cutting edge it felt like when it opened 15 years ago. Service is friendly but slow. Main problem is that the building, loos, decor etc is very tired. Feels like the unit is being run in to the ground prior to shutting it down so little to no investment taking place. Quite sad TBH.

Visited with a friend for a special occasion, we had the DJ Saturday bottomless brunch. I am coeliac and this was well catered for. We were seated at the bar area overlooking the lower floor, which meant we could talk over the music and enjoy it at the same time. The stools were uncomfortable though, and nowhere to put big winter coats, shopping bags etc which made it awkward and uncomfortable (and coats dirty). Service was the biggest let down, having to repeat ourselves a number of times to staff when ordering or clarifying things was frustrating and left us confused often. However, drinks were topped up very quickly which is a bonus! There wasn’t quite enough food to cover the ‘bottomless’ alcohol, but I guess this is a budgetary decision for the business. I would come again but be prepared for the service issues and allow plenty of time.

Seriously disappointing. Scan for menu doesn't work, took 20 mins to get a menu or a drink. The food was limited and bland - the staff brought out cutlery after we had eaten, the condiments were empty. The manager? demanded he needed the table back,...

Food delicious, staff need a lot of training. Was followed to the toilet and followed outside when we had asked for the bill twice. Bill was put through by a different member of staff as other staff member was not competent.

This is a great place for food, we have been many times, and this was one of the best, food and service from Zsanett H were excellent. Highly recommend it.

Great choice of dishes and all were nice. It's a nice setting as well and not bad value for money. The dim sum menu dishes were definitely the ones to go for. Would recommend.

Took my partner here for her birthday and asked for a nice table and two glasses of champagne on our table as a surprise on arrival. Instead, we were shoved in a tiny corner with no drink in sight and people literally next to us....

Zsanett was absolutely amazing, she recommended the luxury mushroom dumplings which ended up being our favourite of the night!
