Lovely mock tutorial hotel in Troon. Friendly service and good food.

Excellent hotel, staff were excellent and food. So much so we ate there every night. Breakfast poached eggs were superb Grateful for the room with the siting area as extra space.

Came here to celebrate an intimate family wedding with a party size of 7, including an infant. The food was sensational and beautifully presented. The menu was large but did not compromise the quality. It was refreshing to find a children’s menu that was varied and didn’t simply resort to chicken nuggets (although that is available on request). The service was prompt and friendly. Overall, the best meal out I’ve experienced in a long time. Hats off to the chef and much thanks to the waiting staff.

On Sunday afternoon I came with 3 friends for the prosecco afternoon tea. It was delicious! As always great service. The room was set out so beautifully and the food was excellent.

Excellent meal served in comfortable surroundings with pleasant staff including a great wee character, Margaret, who I believe has been at the hotel for some 25 years. Well done.

Just had a few day away at the Piersland House Hotel, would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice relaxing break, food fab, staff first class, Margaret who organised breakfast, has everything running like clockwork, Jack makes everyone who comes through the door, feel very special, and such a caring young man, So thank you to everyone at Piersland House , for making our stay once again very comfortable and pleasant,

Beautiful room! Great friendly waiters and staff, the food was all perfectly cooked and well presented. The restaurant lost a star as the pan seared prawns says it comes in garlic and coriander butter, with mango salad, in the images you’ll see it’s smothered in a sweet chilli dip - no sign of coriander butter or garlic. SADLY I sent it back basically full and still got charged for it. As well as the goats cheese I ordered as replacement. My husband wouldn’t let me say anything and still tipped generously as the rest of the food was great and waiter very charismatic, funny and helpful. The other blunder was, we ordered a bottle of still water when first sat down, by the time our mains came it was still not with us…. So we cancelled it and asked for tea, that also didn’t come but we told another waiter and he immediately knew the tea we asked for was not available and he was kind enough to bring us something off menu. The prawn cocktail is as normal as you’d expect it but the haggis starter, goats cheese starter, cod and lamb rump were all amazing! Not to mention, as the rest of the reviews, the best baked Alaska. Despite the big ups and my my dislike for paying for things I don’t eat, food and atmosphere was good enough to still come back….

I visited this venue along with family for my Grandad’s 80th birthday and could not fault it in any way, such high standards and quality. We were a party of 11 - 8 adults and 3 kids, and had our own private dining area which was really good. Food was excellent, I had the chicken with the brandy/peppercorn cream sauce which was cooked to perfection… just melted in your mouth. This was followed by a sticky toffee pudding which was delicious too. Service was great, and all staff were lovely and looked after us well. Look forward to returning in the future, thanks again. 😊

We visited the hotel for a wedding. The hotel is fabulous and has lovely grounds. The staff were very welcoming and the food was outstanding.

Best restaurant in Troon by far so far! The service was wonderful, food was wonderful, fresh, and imaginative. No where else has come close so far.

Have drove passed this for years and was always drawn to it. Decided to book for anniversary dinner advised when booked it was a special anniversary. On entering approached reception spoke to lady who gave the impression she would rather be anywhere else but there . Went into dining room gave name to young man behind bar who didn’t show us to our table but stated pointing to table in corner that’s yours ! Behind a group of 10 men . Sorry but 1st impressions really count during our time little to no interaction with staff except for the girl who served our mains. Waited long periods to get menu when 1st arrived and for dessert. Food itself was nice but overall experience let down by lack of welcome and poor service .

Been here a few times but the first since has been redecorated. The Red Room is gorgeous- bright airy with lots of space. Love the pictures. Husband had the lamb which he loved. I had the chicken tempura which was excellent. BUT the best bit was the baked alaska. The real reason we come.

With no booking made for a mid-week dinner slot, we were relieved to receive a warm welcome at the Red Bowl. The area has some fab places to eat out, with the Red Bowl being a cut above in terms of service, decor and food quality. It was no trouble to adjust the dishes to suit dietary requirements and the chicken dishes were cooked to perfection. I'd love to know where the veg is sourced from, as it actually tasted like it ought to - a far cry from the supermarket stuff these days.

We were staying in a nearby hotel and came to the Piersland House restaurant for dinner. The staff were all really helpful, friendly and professional. The food was excellent. We shared a scallop and black pudding starter, I had a trio of fish for main course and my husband had duck. We finished with a selection of local cheeses. Everything was very well cooked and presented. A really nice experience. I would visit again.

I celebrated my 70th birthday with a lunch party at Piersland House Hotel on Sunday and can only say that the hotel and staff surpassed my expectations. I met with Martin the events manager who guided me through all the arrangements and listened to all my requests. On the day everything was just as I had asked for and Martin and his team swung into action with welcome drinks, exceptionally good service during the meal (which was beautiful) and his steady hand overseeing all the days proceedings. I didn't need to worry about a thing and this made my day all the more special. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to hold an event at Piersland House or to enjoy a stay at this beautiful hotel.

We had a lovely dinner at the Piersland, which is also, historically interesting as it was established by the Johnny Walker (scotch) family. The ambiance is very nice and our meal was very good.

Food was very poor...chicken tempura was basically chicken nuggets...burger was a complete failure. I was asked for feedback as l ate very little and zero response or care. Waste of time, waste of money...l will not return.

Whilst not the cheapest place to eat the service and quality of food is excellent. We had lunch and all was excellent, other than a screaming baby, that thankfully arrived not long before we left. Maybe there should be an adilts only option.

Excellent surrounds, great menu and friendly but not overpowering staff. Arrived towards the end of lunch service but advised that was no problem and were able to choose from the full lunch menu

Dont stay in the cabins in the carpark and do stay in the hotel. Lovely setting and beautiful gardens. restaurant is just fine if a little noisy

We arrived with no booking for lunch and were so well dealt with and looked after right from the start. The young guy that got us to our seat and then took our order was the best service that i have had anywhere (whoever is carrying out the training is also doing a great job). The food was extremely well presented and tasted as good. Then the bill, it was extremely good value for money. So this is why have given my first 5 star review.

This is an absolutely wonderful restaurant and we ate there when eating at the hotel and cant wait to go back

Lovely setting, easy to find and good parking. The menu offered plenty choice and 3 of us enjoyed sea bass. Everything was hot, well cooked and presented nicely. Good value. Our disappointment was the attitude of the waiting staff which was almost grumpy! Even behind the mask, the body language was clear. Perhaps a bad day or COVID pressures or signs of something not right behind the scenes. Whatever the reason, it was a disappointment to us and causes us to think twice before eating there again.

We booked directly and got 2 nights B and B plus dinner on first night for £250. We had a nice room in the main hotel, decent size, comfortable bed and large en-suite. Due to Covid19 room wasn’t serviced during our stay but we were only there 2 nights so not a problem. We had dinner on our first night. Overall meal was delicious although my husband’s starter was minus its poached egg and his main had unexpected risotto with it. We had to pre order breakfast (again due to Covid19) but not a massive issue. Staff were friendly and helpful and hotel location is fantastic as only 5 minute walk from beach and adjacent to both Royal Troon and Portland golf courses. Not our first stay and nor will it be our last.

My partner and I took my mother for lunch and some sea air.What a delight this venue is. The food was delicious and very reasonable priced, but what made this day special was the staff, all very professional and attentive and nothing was too much bother all done with a smile...my hat off to you all.

Friendly and attentive staff made this an enjoyable evening. Large portions of pleasant food for reasonable price. Lovely garden with opportunity to have a drink outside during this great spell of weather.

Just had another fantastic stay at the Piers land! Room 5 was Fab! All the staff are very professional and nothing was too much trouble Margaret runs the breakfast service like clockwork! Beautiful manicured gardens A big pat on the back to all of you!

We had visited here last year and so we wanted to go back, as we were on holiday in the area again.We pre-booked and when we realised we were going to be late we rang them and they were fine about it.When we arrived we were disappointed with our table, it was very busy and we were seated in what appeared to be a bar area. Last year we had been seated in the restaurant. We were happy with the food and the service. All the staff were very good and the food was excellent. However, I am not sure we would return again. 

Beautiful hotel, stunning gardens, excellent food and staff who couldn’t do enough for us…can’t wait to come back…Bedroom was tastefully decorated and very comfortable bed.

Made a reservation and again was not disappointed. The building itself is superb and so welcoming. Met Karl and Martin both senior executives who were so friendly and attentive. Both lead by example with their commitment to providing a five star experience and this is shared by junior members of staff. They are great ambassadors for the company. The menu is varied to suit all pallets. A big shout to the kitchen brigade for continuing the high standards. Also met Samantha, the latest addition to the reception team, she was so charming, attentive and friendly. This is the best hotel in Ayrshire without a doubt and is a must visit when in the area. Will be back for sure.

Last time we were at Piersland seems like a lifetime ago, but as before the staff are great, the food as usual is good value and it is a delight to return. Covoid procedures are emplaced, making you feel secure. Love the mini baked Alaska would come for that alone. Our next trip will not be a lifetime away

We stayed here fir two nights. We have stayed here before and always enjoyed it. Room was beautiful and obviously recently upgraded. Staff very very attentive a d food excellent. First class as always

Had lunch & dinner while booked into the hotel, but we were sooo impressed that we will be back just for lunch or dinner. Also love warm palates, its a small thing but the food & plates are always super warm, but give it a try u will not be disappointed.

After being closed for so long you'd expect perhaps they'd be a little bit rusty, but no, the Piersland House Restaurant was excellent. Service was perfect, the meals fantastic.I had the lamb, and I can highly recommend this dish. Cooked to perfection.Definitely will be back.

My only negative was that the cooked breakfast, the bacon was fatty and with Covid-19 rules the toast served with the coffee and cooked breakfast was cold.

Stayed with my boyfriend Monday 26th for the hotels reopening and was such a delightful night. The hotel is beautiful, lovely garden space where we got to sit out for some drinks, and the suite was an excellent size. The bar and grill staff were lovely and the food was amazing, especially the goats cheese. The cocktails were also great and all resonabblly priced. Can’t wait to book back up.

First place to book a meal after freedom on 12/12/20 the Piersland. Covoid tracing adhered to the staff as attentive as ever the food excellent value, large portions. Love the Baked Alaska dessert, great too return after a period of lockdown, will be back to enjoy a relaxing evening meal when it is allowed

We loved our stay here. It was just before Lockdown 2.0 and despite it being such a strange time in the world we felt very much at home here. Our stay was necessary due to our permanent accommodation not yet being available - but it was a beautiful blessing in disguise, as we spent a night at the Piersland House Hotel. We were kindly upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite so we had a lovely hot tub in the room! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and the staff were very welcoming. The grounds are beautifully kept, if feels very traditionally Scottish and everything is clean. The beach and Royal Troon golf course are close by for nice walks.

Stayed at hotel for dinner, bed and breakfast. Food was lovely, hot and plenty choice. The food was all really hot when was served and the staff were all really lovely.

The food at the hotel was beautiful. I had tempura chicken to start which was perfect. Sirloin steak was perfect too. Breakfast was delicious, coffee perfect. Can’t fault the food or the staff who were absolutely lovely. Only down side was that we couldn’t have wine with our meal because of these INSANE COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY Covid measures. Govt won’t be happy until they bankrupt the entire hospitality industry! I hope this hotel survives .

Lunch at Piersland Hotel the staff and food was excellent there was a good selection on the menu something for everyone there was 4 of us and it was clear plates all round I would return just for the Baked Alaska alone that I had for my sweet

Lovely hotel, excellent covid procedures in place. Dinner and breakfast need to be pre-ordered due to covid. We stayed in a mews as we had a dog which was perfect. Dogs are not allowed in the main hotel. The mews had a bedroom with living room. Food was very good especially the creme brulee! staff were very accommodating. would come again.

Just returned from two night stay. Cannot fault this hotel. Following covid 19 rules very well. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Margaret who was extremely patient with us changing our breakfast requests.nothing was too much trouble for her. She has good humour and a friendly demeanour.thank you Margaret. Also Gavin, who was our waiter for dinner was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Will look forward to a return visit.

Been puzzling about what made our lunch at Piersland so very good. The service definitely - all of the staff helpful and welcoming. Friendly without being either deferential or over-familiar. The food definitely - good honest fare, with just the right amount of flair. The venue certainly - impressive house with immaculate outdoor area and large, comfortable indoor restaurant allowing excellent social distancing. All of this for a very reasonable price!

We were staying in the hotel and booked a table at 9pm as we were arriving late. We were a bit worried that we would be rushed and that the kitchen would be closing but we needed have worried. The staff were so friendly, we were not rushed at all, and we were seated and given the extensive menu and drinks order taken. The only problem was deciding what to have! There really is something for everyone on this menu. As we had been travelling all day I just wanted something hot and stodgy so had the prawn cocktail then the lasagne and chips. Now I rarely say this about lasagne but it was absolutely sublime! Large portions as well, I didn't really need the chips in the end but managed to force a few down! My partner had the chicken and beef fajitas and said they were also delicious. Staff more than happy to stay and chat, whilst maintaining social distancing and wearing masks, it was a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. My only request - please make the bar dog friendly! Would definitely return and recommend.

1st time visitor and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful building, lovely gardens and great food. We had lunch and the service was first class. A great well come and a very good menu. Thank you very much for a lovely afternoon.

We booked for lunch here, as we were travelling from Turnberry to Loch Lomond. We booked based on reviews and we were not disappointed.Whilst the restaurant seems to attract an older clientèle, the staff are all very young and capable.The food was top notch and the service impeccable. We ate Chicken Parfait and Melon for Starters, Mains were Chicken in a Haggis and Peppercorn Sauce and A Seafood Grill. We both had Baked Alaska for Dessert.We wouldn't hesitate to come here again.

Last minute two night stay. Fabulous little cottage room,great food and exceptional service. Staff were very pleasant efficient and smartly dressed. I felt it was very good value for money. We were meant to be going to Arran,but the ferry was cancelled due to Storm Dennis. However,can’t say I as at all disappointed by our alternative. Maybe a coffee table in the cottage and a bit more atmosphere in the restaurant/bar. I’ll certainly return.

There was 16 of us for dinner, the food was exceptional and the service was superb, we were all looked after very well, would recommend for any sort of social gathering, we’ll done team Piersland.

I would not have minded quite so much if I had not booked 6 weeks ahead and even choose the room I wanted ( with bath ) BUT on arrival different room no bath. OK got it changed , and room fine, then dining !! Badly behaved kids staff could do nothing about , food was below expectation , so won't return .

2nd year in a row we’ve visited the Piersland Hotel for New Years Dinner. Once again it was a wonderful occasion. The staff as always were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I’m sure some of them wouldn’t have been happy working New Years Day but you wouldn’t have noticed. The food itself was beautifully presented, beautifully cooked and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. We will return.

We stayed here for an overnight after someone bought us a gift voucher and it was wonderful. We loved every second of our stay. The food was fantastic, staff are so friendly and we coipd not fault a thing about our stay. The rooms are comfortable and very well equipped. Thank you piersland for another wonderful stay!

Booked for Boxing Day Lunch - all I can say is it was (nearly) perfect. We had, in my opinion, the best seat in the house next to the fireplace. The food was fresh and plentiful. Lovely ambience. The staff were all very friendly and service was good. I hate to mention a negative but one of the waiters (a more senior member) was absolutely stinking of cigarette smoke, which was very off putting. Otherwise a fantastic day in a fantastic setting.

Christmas lunch in mid December with a large group of ladies. Meal for good and service mannerly. The main course of turkey was a bit bland but the sauces and veg etc worked well with it so overall was good.

Went with elderly parents who were late in arriving. Staff did not hurry us in least although I was conscious of time. The meal was fantastic and plentiful from beginning to end. Only one criticism was the children's menu, chicken nuggets, pizza, poss fish fingers plus one other option along the same vein. Our son ended up having options from adults menu. I am against restaurants serving this type of fair anyway, but on Christmas Day? I did not let this detract from overall experience as it really was excellent. Billy was our waiter who was full of festive cheer and banter and there was another young girl with a ponytail who served drinks, was very pleasant. All in all a huge thank you to each of the staff, in the kitchen and behind the scenes, for giving up their day with their families to serve us. Piersland be proud.

My wife, sister and my brother in law spent 2 nights at The Piersland House Hotel culminating in going to their party night on the Saturday. What a night, meal and music. I would recommend going and we will all be back next year.

Visited the Piersland for work Christmas lunch. The surroundings are excellent and the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The 3 course lunch was excellent with plenty of options. The meals were well cooked, well presented and very tasty. The meal was followed by tea/coffee and mince pies. Everyone enjoyed their meal and I would certainly recommend the Piersland for a meal.

Went to Piersland on Friday for dinner with the family; although we didn’t have a booking they were able to accommodate us although I would definitely recommend booking as it got very busy!

This is a lovely hotel with a great restaurant. A smashing buffet lunch is served along with a fine menu. The rooms in the hotel are super. Well worth a visit.

I visited Piersland House this evening with my wife and elderly parents. They have been resident in the Hotel for the past two nights and we joined them for dinner. We have thoroughly lunches at this establishment previously but we wondered if dinners would meet the same high standards. Delighted to say that we really enjoyed our meal. The staff were very friendly, attentive and so efficient. Our meals were first class. I had recommended Piersland to my parents both to stay in and as a place to dine and no one was disappointed. We will return at the first opportunity! Enough said!

Love visiting the Piersland for food with the family, food is beautiful & reasonable, staff are great with my 3 year old nephew

We had an evening meal in this hotel last night. The staff are all very friendly and the food was excellent. Will be back on our next visit to Troon.

A Troon resident who returns time after time to The Piersland. Can’t fault them whatsoever. The staff work so hard to make sure everyone is pleased and the food never disappoints. With such a huge selection of choice on the menu, no one can ever be left out. 10/10 <3

Neben der Pub-ähnlichen Bar ist ein schöner Gastraum, welcher von dem superfreundlichen Personal sehr gut betreut wird. Man fühlt sich extrem Willkommen und bekommt für relativ günstige Preise sehr leckeres Essen.

Have visited many times over the years and I have never had a bad meal. Quality and service always excellent. Extremely reasonably priced considering the level of food you are getting. Wish the red bowl was open through weekdays, as we usually go during the week. Absolute 5 stars.

We ate four meals here during our stay and we enjoyed each one save the burger. The burger was ok, but the meat was cooked well done and had very little flavor. There are better choices such as the grilled pork medallions, the grilled chicken and the beef bourguignon. There is a nice bar with a nice selection of whiskey and gin among other options. The draft beer selections seemed limited and a bit odd with Fosters, Heineken and only one (Smith) more British of ales (Smith’s).

Our recent visit to the Piersland did not disappoint. The seabass was the best I've tasted in a long time....delicious! Best to phone ahead and book a table. Although they were not full it was good to know they had a wedding at 2pm and we would have to leave by then.

Nice meal some months ago with friends but I will not be returning until my Loyalty Card Voucher for £5 is redeemed . The woman at cash desk refused it saying that they had changed companies and I had to get in touch with them to get it changed over . No , you issued it and should have accepted it and sorted it out . One customer lost and your loss of £80

A first class hotel with excellent food and attentive staff. There were 50 of us at the celebration but the whole thing went off without a hitch.

Sehr leckeres Essen, das Ambiente ist auch sehr stimmig und die Kellner sind extrem freundlich. Selbst als am Nachbartisch eine große Gruppe eingetroffen ist, haben sie alles im Auge behalten und wir wurden zügig und nett bedient. Alle schienen gute Laune zu haben und diese war ansteckend. Haben dort an 3 Abenden gegessen und alles war echt gut.

Terrific restaurant in Troon and well worth the trip. It is very enjoyable with good service and very good food at reasonable prices. Certainly worth a try if in the area for golf or otherwise.

Before going to a wedding reception we decided to give the restaurant a try. Fish and chips were nice. My husband enjoyed his steak and deserts were also enjoyable.

The early bird menu is seriously good value and the restaurant has the feel of an up market pub food. A nice garden terrace might be available if the weather is good.The choice is pretty standard Ayrshire.

Booked a table for dinner on Saturday evening. Staying at the Marine Hotel the Pearsland is a short walk so very convenient.
