Piccolo Mondo in Glasgow City

Food still delightful, but the overall service from some of the staff wasn't up to usual high standards, not offered parmesan with pasta, incorrect cutlery and then the bill was wrong at the end which summed it all up, but it got corrected and we will be back. Hopefully not a table for 2 where 1 of us looks at a wall and not the other half

Very busy, very good food. Good attention and staff helpful and managed very well though busy. Short walk from Glasgow city centre, and convenient for rail and bus. Also do a great lunchtime deal. Very popular. Award winning restaurant over many years. Make sure you book for the evening.

If you're hungry and like Italian this is the place to come. The portions are HUGE. Definitely worth a visit

After searching for a restaurant on Google, the waiter told me that locals need to make reservations to dine here. When he saw us coming in, he specially changed a service staff who could speak Chinese, who was very attentive. In addition, the food is also very delicious, recommended

£14.5 for 2 course. I chose main and dessert. I ordered cheese cake . It is too creamy and not much cheese taste. A bit disappointed. 2nd visited for dinner on 28Dec 2023. We chose the Pre-theatre Mena. We ordered starter and main course. Everything is good. I like the prawn cocktail and calamari fritti.

This restaurant for my money is the best Italian in Glasgow, the food is delicious and the quality of produce is exceptional. The ambience and atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant. The staff are friendly and professional and attentive The street parking is usually good. The restaurant is well placed in the city, plenty of transport choices taxis buses and trains all available.

FESTIVE MENU Booking for 16 is like herding cats but Agata made the booking process easy. Extensive menu was well received by our party, the food and service were spot on

Went here for my work's Christmas lunch. Service was excellent, food was gorgeous. It was just a little to busy for my liking but is just my personal opinion.

Tasty food and well looked after by the staff

I will also be writing to the Piccolo Mondo Management to express my party's displeasure at being told to leave at 2.20 pm when we had the table booked until 3.00 pm. The male staff could only be described as surly and abrupt, in fact, the only member of staff who was even vaguely pleasant was a young waitress. The quality of food was adequate, but certainly, for myself not worth the additional surcharge for the linguine marinara. A very disappointing lunch, especially when the table behind us were seated before us and not pressured to leave. One would almost believe that 4 over 60 females were viewed as an easy touch to clear a table.

Our family of 5 called in at lunchtime. Busy restaurant but found us a table quite quickly. Food was fantastic great value for money. Attentive staff ,service was excellent. 1st time visit,will definitely visit again. Highly recommend.

Great food and good service

We arrived at the restaurant for a team lunch on a week day with an hour or so to eat The restaurant was very busy with a lot of large tables of groups which added to the atmosphere We were a small group of 5 We all had 2 courses from the lunch menu which is good value I had the stuffed mushrooms and pasta del casa Good Portions without leaving feeling stuffed I'd recommend for a nice work lunch

It has been a few years since dining here, so as in Glasgow for a few days, nice to get back. No reservation, very busy but they accommodated us. The food here is really good, my starter was haggis and black pudding bon bons, followed by sea bass; my wife had prawn cocktail followed by the house tortellini (which was yummy). We finished with affogatas. A lovely night.

Amazing place! I did not have reservations (did not realize they were recommended), but they still sat very promptly! Had the sirloin steak which is excellent value for the amount of food. The accompanying cauliflower is some of the best I’ve ever had- it nearly melts in your mouth. Highly recommend stopping here

Terrible service. I phoned the restaurant. A guy who was quite rude answered the phone. He Interrupted me about 5 times so I didn’t manage to speak and explain the reasons for my call. The call ended with his saying that they’re very busy and put the phone down. I would give you a zero if I could. DON’T EAT THERE!

One of the rare places to know how to properly select and cook meat! As a Frenchman living in Scotland, this is not easy to find and deserves a recommendation! Adding that the atmosphere is nice and the service friendly & excellent. Yes it is slightly more expensive than average (we spent £100 for 2 adults 2 kids, 4 drinks + 4 mains + 4 desserts, but it was worth it! Beyond the meat, the pasta Della casa was great, and the desserts top notch! (Tiramisú and apple pie with ice cream)

Went to Piccolo mondo for a two course lunch + drink for two with an itison voucher. Haven't been here for years and didn't disappoint. Staff were very friendly, and the service was first class. The food was great, fresh, and very tasty. Definitely be back. ❤️👌✔️

What a fantastic restaurant this is!! Had a staff night out dinner here and the food/service/atmosphere was absolutely spot on. Prawn Linguine is so tasty I would highly recommend it. We also had lovely Brushetta, so fresh and delicious. The price is very average as well which was a surprise for a restaurant in the middle of Glasgow, I was expecting to have to remortgage to eat here but it hardly left a dent in my pocket. 5 stars all round ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just had lunch there. The most amazing food I've ever had. The staff was also very nice. I would go 7 days a week. The food was so good I almost cried❤. My friends and I had the pasta bolognese, the lasagna and the grilled seafood platter. Very lovely!

Everything was good, excellent food and service. My only complaint was the noise from a particularly rowdy table nearby. We found it very difficult to talk without raising our voices. Disappointed on this occasion.

Make sure when you go you are not starving, in a previous review I totally agree the portion sizes DO NOT make up for their prices, I got chicken(not that filling)with tomato mozzarella with 5 small pebble like roast potatoes shocking and charged 17quid for the cheek didn't hang about for afters, asked for bill waited over 15mins or so, no joy had to go to front desk & was greeted with cheeky front of house guy who thought we were leaving without paying so he got put in his place, if his staff would've leave customers waiting around so long wouldn't need to get up start walking(FYI would've never left without paying) just to be clear won't be back tasted better fae Aldi.

Very pleasant staff, excellent food, nothing to complain about, go there with your eyes closed. I've been to all of Italy of course there are better ones directly in the country but it's still very good! I highly recommend if you are passing through Glasgow and want to vary your meals.

Authentic Italian in downtown Glasgow. They took our party quickly on a busy night without a reservation. The service was attentive through a group effort. The food was delicious and truly authentic. The minestrone soup was perfect. Fresh vegetables, served hot, with just the right amount of salt. The slices of haggis and black pudding was surprisingly tasty for my first time. Don’t ask what it is made of, just try it and you will find an unusual, but pleasant flavor and texture. The medallion of veal fillet alla Milanese was a tender, hearty portion of veal pounded thin, coated in light breading, and served hot. Delicious from the first bite to the last. The table next to me ordered the lyonnaise potatoes and they looked so good I had to order them as well. They were superb and tasted as good as they looked. Welcoming, charming place with more than reasonable pricing especially on the alcohol. Must visit if you like Italian.

Met with friends for lunch who had been before who had recommended it as our venue. Wasn't disappointed, the service was prompt,professional and friendly, the food was excellent . Sorry can't provide pics phone was 10%, but you won't be disappointed.

5 star service from start to finish, staff were welcoming hosted an amazing time for celebrating my mums birthday for her! Booked a table online everything was straightforward and prepared for our arrival! Food was absolutely delicious could not fault a single dish!! Drinks were excellent but topping off our day was the pleasantries of staff! Cleanliness was to an impeccable standard! Toilets were spotless dining area was pristine! Lovely Group meal off the Set menu .. service very good on a warm night in Glasgow..Well looked after by the informative staff and food was very good ...Large portions and well presented! £750 total which included drinks which was great value for money! Would most definitely be back as a couple.

They changed the chef and it is not so good anymore like it was. They use no more eggs for pad thai with the excuse that the cost of eggs increased. But then the price on the menu did not change or any cheaper by removing one of the main ingredients of this famous Thai dish. Very disappointed and will not go to eat there anymore.

Excellent italian Restaurant located in a lovely old building in the centre of Glasgow. Staff were very accommodating, even when our group grew from 5 to 7,and then to 9. Extensive menu. High quality food and service at very reasonable prices. Pictured is the Haggis and black pudding bon Bons, one of their les italian dishes but very good.
