Pho in Exeter

The title says it all really. Both my husband and I were really looking forward to having our first bowl of Pho here, and we certainly were not disappointed. As well as the mouthwatering food, the service was so friendly and efficient, the vibe was lively (just what you'd expect for a Saturday night) and it was great to be able to see the partially open kitchen from our table. We will most definitely be visiting again!

Been here about 4 times at this point and never had any complaints. Such a nice atmosphere and the food is always so bomb, probably one of my favourite restaurants. The traditional pho noodle are so good and they have some really good curries and starters. Highly recommend for any occasion, friend meet-ups, dates and birthdays (I've done all of the above and went off without a hitch). Have also gotten take away from there once and it was still really good but it's nicer to sit in in my opinion. Side note: my boyfriend loves spicy food and has a decent spice tolerance and he got one of their spicy noodle soups and it no joke melted his face off so watch out if you order that. They aren't kidding about the spice.

Absolutely delicious food! It's all so fresh and wonderful tasting! The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly as well.

Food is absolutely top draw. Seating can me bit hit and miss depending on how busy it is and if the tablea are full you may find yourself on a communal table with strangers. Would be good if they had pictures of their dishes so first timers know what they are getting. The only downside is the service charge added to the bill. This isn't London!! They will remove it though. Its a cashless venue by the way.

My absolute favourite place to get pho. I highly recommend the chilli squid starter and the Pride cocktail. Oh and the curries are so flavourful!

Our experience at Pho was elevated by the attentive and friendly service provided by Cedric, our waiter. His knowledge of the menu and genuine warmth made our visit truly special. We were impressed by his professionalism and willingness to ensure our evening was memorable.

They are dog friendly - this is nice and advance, well done team! We had lunch here twice now, very welcoming, attentive staff, nice atmosphere and good food.

Good food. Beef spicy soup was good with nice fresh herb garnish on the side. But the stock was quite fatty and one dimension flavour. Mango salad was also good but quite light in mango in my portion.

Pho was yummy but,summer spring roll need to improve.

The staff in Pho Exeter were so kind and helpful today. I had my baby with me and was on my own. They knew baby was sleeping and so they got my food to me in super quick time so I could enjoy it whilst little one slept. Baby change was immaculate too. Food was super tasty as always. Felt super comfortable feeding babe in a little corner so I had some privacy. Thank you so much Pho Exeter!

Vietnamese food is wonderful… this place is fairly authentic but it looses out on a star in all areas because it’s expensive. And excessively so. A bowl of Pho is around ten times more than Vietnam! The service is not the best either.

Got stuck in the toilet for over 10 minutes as the door wouldn’t open. Eventually got out. Told the staff and they really weren’t that bothered. Food was ok although cold when it arrived. Staff not particularly friendly. Shame really as it looked a lovely restaurant.

Had a fantastic dinner at Pho Exeter. We were looked after by Ross who was friendly and very helpful, he recommended drinks for us which went down very well. He was speedy with our food and checked in on us

We went there without reserve and wait for 10 minutes at noon time. The noodles is tasty and the wok pho is better than with soup I think. The service is good.

I went here for a meal with 2 other people, we were served quickly and the food was served quickly. It was priced as expected for a typical restaurant with dishes around £10-£14. The food was absolutely incredible, I ordered the "fuh" and it was beautifully flavoured with portions being generous. I love that it came with a side salad of herbs that I could add to my dish as wanted. I also loved being able to add the spice as wanted too. We also ordered the vegetarian spring rolls with the peanut sauce and they were so yummy, the sauce was incredible I would go again for that alone! In all it was a fantastic meal and I am excited to go back again! Also I highly recommend trying the Vietnamese coffee, it's so tasty!

First time coming to Pho since moving to Exeter 18 months ago and we weren’t disappointed! It has been on our to-do list since we moved. I believe our server was Waratchaya, and she was super friendly. Would definitely come again!

Waitress was standing next to us looking at us while we were about to finish our food. Not even a minute after we finished she came and toon our plates then gave us the bill, I didnt even ask for it. Not a busy day so I dont know what the rush is.

Absolutely brilliant evening, we had the Pho trung and Rice bowl vegetable. For drinks had apple, mint, lemon and ginger and my wife had lemon grass and ginger. The presentation was fantastic. Meals really tasty. Highly Recommend.

Went there today to try the food however the guy with a pony tail asked us if we booked a table which we didn’t as it’s our first time. Went outside to book a table, when this guy saw us again we showed him our booking and he said that they’re not accepting customers as they’re short staffed. Totally acceptable, we followed him as we thought he will direct us to our table but he start shouting WAIT WAIT YOU NEED TO WAIT HERE in a hight pitch voice totally unacceptable and we felt harassed. Very very rude behaviour.

Good enough food, awful service. As a party of 2 we orders 2 drinks, 2 starters and 2 mains. A single drink and starter arrived and prompted us to ask for a second drink, expecting the starter to follow. It did not. A young server, Nikol (?) Was pleasant but unhelpful. Likely won't return.

First time eating here, which can always be a worrying time when there are specific dietary requirements in the party. We needn't have worried at all, when you are seated and order, you are asked if you have any dietary requirements, which is something that I wish all places would do. We were informed that if the menu items have an asterisk against them, it means that they are not free from gluten, which is really nice and rather refreshing compared to having to scour menus for something that is gluten free. The lovely guy that served us, I am so sorry I can't remember his name, I think was new as we did enquire about items being gluten free and he had to check with a colleague (no problem at all, much rather he checks and is sure than gives wrong information), was lovely and gave excellent customer service. Also huge shout out to Paula (who was the colleague he asked the question to) who, on realising that there were dietary requirements, ensured that she was always not far away and available to help if needed. So many places could learn how to give excellent customer service from her! The food was delicious, my partner enjoyed summer rolls to start and a hot and spicy soup for main, I enjoyed crispy spring rolls to start (I can eat gluten without issues) and stir fried noodles as my main. All absolutely perfectly cooked with bags of flavour. I can highly recommend the peanut sauce, absolutely divine! It is also worth noting that we are both vegan and often find it difficult to find places that have both gluten fee AND vegan options and, more often than not, if they do they have just the one thing and no real choice. Dining out as Asian restaurants can also cause issues due to the common use of fish sauce. This was not an issue at Pho, they even explained that that some dishes or sauces contain fish sauce and ensured that none of our food contained this. Great to see a restaurant serving This Isn't Chicken, that brand is a personal favourite. Although in this instance, I went for the tofu as I really love tofu. To summarise, both the food and the service was excellent and cannot be faulted, we have agreed that we will definitely be returning to Pho again in the near future.
