Pete`s fish and grill in Tendring

Glorious fish and chips. Pure white cod and an excellent batter. Would recommend it without a doubt.

Best Fish Shop in Clacton. Big portions and Staff are friendly, plus they can deliver. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

My husband and I were so impressed with this Fish and Grill shop. My husband chose Fish and chips, really good portion and the fish was huge, fresh and tasty. I chose the chicken shish on pitta. Pete cooked it fresh and the amount of chicken breast in the pitta was amazing. With this came a little pot of salad and I had the offer of a number of sauces I opted for tomato. Delicious and well worth the money. So impressed I went back in to tell him how much I enjoyed it and said I was going to leave a review on here. If we return to Holland on sea I will definitely head back to Petes for food

Pete’s is the best in Clacton. Tried others but they don’t compare. Quality is always good and freshly cooked. Portions are plentiful. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Ordered cod and chips , Fish was the size of a small sausage, phoned them up because I thought that they had got my order wrong. Can’t believe it was so small. Will not be going back. Poor value for money

I am on holiday at valley farm and the on site chippy was closed so googled and found Pete’s. It was almost closing time but the guys cooked me fresh chips to go with a chicken and mushroom pie - both delicious. They were chatty and friendly and I will be recommending to other holiday makers!

I'm working here for a few days.. Ordered cod roe, haddock,chips....all good! Have not tried their kebabs yet but coming from a Turkish and Greek area in North London,it would probably fall short. Great prices and very tasty. Can't complain and will remember it next time I'm around. Good staff too!

Fantastic fish and chips, cooked fresh to order and very tasty. 1 min drive from Valley Farm Parkdean resort. Friendly staff and great service. A real gem!

I ordered a chicken shish, the assistant asked me if I wanted salad and I said yes please. She also asked me what sauce I would like and I said garlic sauce please. My wife ordered a fish feast and we ordered a kids meal for our daughter. We got home and I had no salad and no sauce in my kebab, my wife had no bread roll with her fish feast and our daughter's kids meal didn't come with a toy which it used to. Food was nice but a bit annoyed about all the things they'd forgotten.

Was looking forward to kebab n chips but so disappointed the kebab meat was overcooked n dry it was supposed to be chicken but in all honesty it could have been anything oh and no garlic mayo sauce! Definitely wouldn't recommended and definitely won't be going back there

Popped in for a bag of chips... really fresh and large portions. Also friendly service! The guy who served me was so pleasant. Once eaten lovely chips.

We are looking to move to Holland-on-Sea later this year and have been checking out the local shops. We decided on fish and chips early yesterday evening and had cod and chips as a takeaway. The food was freshly cooked, piping hot and good value for money and was delicious. THe staff were friendly and helpful. We'll be back.

when we moved to Holland on sea 2 years ago now we went to Pete's for fish and chips on our first night and we have had Pete's fish and chips every Friday since. Lovely food and always cooked fresh .

The meals from this take away and restaurant are second to none they are freshly cooked to order and extremely good value. I especially have the lunch time meal and they deliver to your door. Very highly recommend a visit, you wont be disappointed.

We live just around the corner and regularly get our weekend takeaway from Pete’s. The chips are really nice and there is a good selection of fish, chicken, kebabs, burger etc. Pete’s mixed grill is really good value and our go to choice. Well worth a visit.

Ordered quite a large order and got in it a good timing! Definitely will be back The staff made a good conversation when speaking to them!

We went as a group to see the football at the local club.we hadn't eaten and called fish and chip shops locally.petes were happy to deliver and take any order.had mix of fish,burgers and chips delivered quickly and good quality

we had a meal delivered from here for party function food was great hot and as good as it gets every one really enjoyed it

Picked up a quick take away on the way home from work. Fish was lovely and fresh (although a bit small) and chips were nicely cooked too. Clean kitchen and staff were friendly. Will revisit very soon

We have used Pete's Fish & Grill for mostly fish and chips and have always found the food to be very nice.

Great service, great fish, and chips, we have had a lot to eat from here, have not tried anything else apart from the fish and chips at this time.

Used this choppy for last few years, always phoned take away which overall has improved with generous helpings, small portion chips enough for one, I agree with others that they need to learn some politeness and would describe attitude as when going through customs at airport. However the large haddock and chips are well worth the money, but a smile would go a long way

We had a selection of fish and burgers from here. Worth the very short wait, as all the food was freshly cooked. Very reasonable prices, and lovely chips!

Comimos aquí ayer con la familia. Excelente servicio al cliente, precios asequibles, una buena porción, nivel de comida. Es una excelente, pero debería ser llamado un restaurante como es mejor que algunos restaurantes. Sin duda recomiendo pescado Pete's y parrilla y regresaremos

No era demasiado hambriento y sólo metimos en un descarado Sav pero las comidas valor me atraía a algo más sustancial. Un Sav es de £1. 60, pero la comida es de £1. 99, 40 p para unas patatas fritas parecía una buena oferta? Reconozco que sólo una bola, apenas una cucharada si estoy siendo sincero, pero es sorprendentemente más que suficiente. También cambió el Sav para una tarta de cebolla y carne, que parecía una oferta aún mejor, incluso si tenía que ser calentada en el microondas.

Utilizan mucho pero por desgracia es bajado. Los precios son buenos, pero no la calidad del pescado y patatas fritas. La última comida que tuve era incomible, patatas fritas y pescado estaba todo duro masa. Lástima, ya que el personal es amable y podría fácilmente ser genial.

Una orden de entrega en casa. El pedido llegó equivocado, con objetos perdidos y fría! Llamé para decírselo y en vez de disculparse todo podía oír era personal discusión sobre quién tomó el pedido! Tras 5 minutos de tratando de decidir quien tomó mi pedido...

Limpio y agradable y todos los alimentos cocinados frescos puede ser ocupado por el aparcamiento, pero las carreteras del parque por lado. Un personal amable dispuesto a ayudar.

Buen lugar para comer. ! Bastante barato, no significa una hamburguesa de pollo.

Foods good but chips seem to be inconsistent, I mean I can be getting chips in there one day and there very good and another time there rubbish

Quite good fish, the chips are very good, not keen on kebabs. Usually cooked to order. On several occasions ordered about 100 yes 100 portions for a do and delivered on time and still hot

Me and my hubby decided to get take away fish and chips for dinner on New Year's Eve. We got a large cod each and chips. We have been here a few times before and are normally satisfied with the food. The Cod was more like a small-medium portion! By the size of the flakes it was a big fish that had been cut into very small pieces. It was nowhere near a large cod. I think we may go back to the golden fillet or Reg's where you get what you paid for

Used "petes" chippy twice while we was stopping and working in the area must say was top class chips cooked to perfection along with the fish staff had a smile on there faces and where very pleasant to chat to highly recommended

Never had a bad meal here, sometimes we sit in there and eat and it's always been fresh and tasty. They even cut the fish up into bites for my kids which is great :-) Chicken kebabs is lovely too. Keep up the good work Pete and staff

We were walking home from clacton sea front to our holiday camp valley farm feeling peckish we decided to stop here glad we did ! We ordered two pies and one lot of chips to Share ready in no time at all the lady in front of us had an order for at least 7people she told us she visited there a lot and her family enjoyed there fish and chips from here,the young man who was serving behind the counter with the tattoos on his arm came from behind the counter and took the order to her car what a lovely gentleman ,he deserves to go far if you are reading this look him up he would be perfect working in a hotel or I could imagine him working in London because his manners were a breath of fresh air,good luck to him,when he served up our pie and chips he put some chips in each box for us with our pies we sat outside as it was a lovely evening and the food was delicious we will be revisiting in September our next holiday at valley farm,thanks to all the staff good luck.

Wanted a quick takeaway and this was ready very quickly. The fish bar also sells other hot snacks and is quite busy. Staff pleasant and sausage OK, chips however not to personal taste as not crisp enough and a little mushy.

We travel from Clacton to Holland to have the best fish and chips in town. Cooked while you wait, or ready to collect if you phone and order. Staff very friendly. Delivery service available.

Am afraid i have to agree with the Jennifer we found the food soggy and undercooked the kebab was riddled with rinds of fat which put me right off. Their is a better fish and chip shop up the road called the golden fillet which consistently serves better food its a shame as I live close by to this establishment and wish it was better.

Having used this fish and chip shop as a takeaway on many occasions. we were appalled and shocked tonight to receive the most disgusting takeaway. The scampi was barely fried hence the batter was soaking and falling off the scampi, along with that was the most dreadful smell of this item. Kebab was dripping in grease and pita disintegrating. As for the chips wet and soggy and one would have to pick them apart if you had to eat them. Very, very disappointed with the extremely poor quality that was sent to us. The owners of this establishment could not but notice the state of this food when it was wrapped, have to say this was a complete waste of £20.00. We will definitely not be using theses again.

I have been in here on several ocassions-both to eat in and take away.The very full menu covers many types of food the service is superb,,portions ore excellent and the whole shop is absolutely immaculate!.The staff are always extremely courteous-the prices are very reasonable-a great place to eat-I cannot speak highly enough of this establishment.Home delivery is available.

Great place for lunch on a sunny day. I had a shrimp salad, which was excellent and my husband had a sandwich, which was good but had more bread than filling. Food was fresh, nicely presented and the service was exceptionally good.
