Perola Do Mar in Wigan

Very poor quality...was expecting great things after reading the reviews but was a total let down. Salmon very dry and stew very salty.

This little gem of the sea and Leigh has sadly now closed its doors. It has been the top No 1 for many years, everyone that visited will know just too well why! I like to thank Maria, Norberto, Igor, Erika and all the staff at Perola for the countless memorable evenings we had here, the family and birthday celebrations, special occasions, or just the "let's have a great night out!" meals. It has been a privilege to become a part of the Perola family. THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL TIMES, YOU ENRICHED OUR LIFE'S!

Drove over 1 hour based on trip advisor and the restaurant was closed even with the website saying it was open. They should update their website and decline all reservations made on their app and website

Visited as a party of 7 for an early evening dinner and all had a great time. Fantastic host in Norberto who made us all feel very welcome in an Intimate and homely environment. We all had pre ordered (apart from desserts) which meant that everything was served in a timely manner. Service overall was first class. Overall, good value for money and highly recommend. Can’t wait to return!

Very impressed with this lovely little restaurant. Our first visit but definitely not the last. Very knowledgeable host who was attentive and chatty. Food was amazing and lots of choice. Be aware they only accept cash but we were informed before our visit. Would highly recommend, particularly for a special occasion.

We booked Perola for a family get together on a Tuesday night when it opens for groups of 5 or more. There were 13 of us and everyone thought the food and drinks were spot on. We had paella, steaks, peri peri chicken, butterflies chicken, meat skewers All spot on . Nothing is a problem for Joao and Maria, my vegan daughter liked her food ( they do lots of their dishes as veggi or vegan) also one of the party is gluten intolerant, again no problem, dishes were modified to suit. The sangria was very good, as was the wine and excellent cold beer, even the glasses are chilled. We all had a great time. Give it a go for a family or friends get together where else arround here let's you have the restaurant to yourselves

The couple who run this restaurant are amazing. We met the husband who was front of house and who made us feel that we were just invited to his family home. Incredibly friendly and welcoming. His wife was in the kitchen cooking all the food, which was absolutely delicious! Our party of four, all left feeling full and happy on a wonderfully tasty evening shared. I highly recommend you try this place with a open mind and heart and I promise you will not regret it. (The white wine sangria is the best I have tried!) Thankyou again to you both, although I am not local I will be back!

Not alot of good places to eat in Leigh so this was an absolutely amazing find been recommending to everyone since last night!I had the onion soup which was absolutely amazing best onion soup I have ever had , to the point I'm trying to recreate it at home then had the sirloin steak with garlic sauce amazing! Husband had the king prawns which he loved! And then the peri peri chicken which he quickly finished off saying the hot sauce was outstanding and then shared the garlic bread which had the perfect amount of garlic, we will definitely be back!

Fantastic food and service! The swordfish was wonderfully succulent and the peri peri chicken was delicious. Great home cooked fries are a must have.

This time we chose Arroz de Pato - the special for Mothers Day weekend - although no Mothers to celebrate!This was undoubtedly my favourite of the meals we've had, although C still maintains the Sea Bass is top of his listWe never add salt to any prepared from scratch meals that we regularly cook at home and therefore find that 'normal' salt addition tends to appear over salted to us. Beautiful food as I expected from having visited their restaurant many times before. Customer service is second to none, the restaurant were helpful organising our delivery when we ran into an issue online. We ordered a full 3 course meal as a celebration and we are so glad we did. It was delivered on time, still warm and by a lovely man who was friendly and genuinely cared about the integrity of the food to ensure we enjoyed our meal just as it would have been delivered direct to the table on their premises. Well done!!

There is simply no food available to be delivered that even comes close. Everytime we order we are blown away by the quality, value and service we receive. I could not recommend more. Great menue with plenty of choice for each course. I cannot wait to dine in once we are able.

A month ago I reviewed this restaurant with a restricted positive.Now, with a comment written on order, to restrict use of salt, am delighted to report a couple of superb meals - the Paella and the Cataplana - both very large portions and heavily loaded with protein elements

I am not often to repeat praise but in this case I just have to make an exception!!I don't really need to go over the amazing quality of the food, the restaurants good selection of wines as this has been numerous with 5 Stars reviewed but I rather want to say that despite all circumstances imposed on this little family run restaurant during this pandemic they have gone to every length and beyond to keep providing this 5 Star service. Updates to website and facebook to adapt an easy way for ordering/booking online for either takeaway delivery or pickup or, when it was possible to eat in, always on time with delivery in compliance to rules and regulations and maintaining all the time the high standard in food quality is certainly something that needs to be given an extra 5 Star rating!!Can't thank enough for the many takeaways we received delivered and friendly service.

Absolutely amazing service and food! We ordered seafood spaghetti, paella and the calamari and king prawn skewer and they tasted delicious. Lots of seafood and lots of flavour. Even the presentation was excellent for a takeaway.
