Perfect Blend in Lambeth

Visited this cafe today for a quick drink and slice of cake. The cafe itself is perfectly fine - could do with a bit of decor updating but the space itself is good. The carrot cake was very tasty, and the girls that served me were lovely and polite. The reason I'm rating three starts is because of the price. It was £8 something for a slice of cake and a can of diet coke! When I asked about the price the girl at the till told me that the diet coke was £3.25 which is an outrageous markup that you wouldn't get in the city centre let alone Streatham. I would hope that the money they're making off customers is going towards getting the decor out of the early 2000's.

Lovely place for coffee catch ups, meetings, or brunch with friends and family. It's equally nice later in the day! Would recommend.

Nice food but horrendously expensive. Smashed avo on toast is £7.95 but add an egg, a streak of bacon and sausage with a coffee and the price is suddenly £26.

I visited Perfect Blend for the first time on 23rd February 2024 and loved it. The coffee and muffin were good and the staff were lovely. Will definitely go again.

The food was good, I had an omelette, and the portion large. However I went in seeking a more healthy option like porridge or bircher, etc and there was jot anything of the sort available.

Extremely lovely place with live music every Wednesday :)

Friendly staff with good food, worth a visit....

Popped in for coffee and a snack. Eye watering prices for drinks. No real choice of cakes or snacks. The three children running the place looked bored, were apathetic and frankly lazy. The place was not busy. There is no service. The slow girl who took our order (three drinks) got the order wrong. It took 25 minutes to deliver two cold drinks and a coffee to our table. The coffee was lukewarm and of average to poor quality. The milkshake was watery as was the smoothie. There was an empty table next to us covered in the detritus from the previous customers and it remained uncleared for the entire duration of our visit. The whole experience was just rubbish.

Veggie breakfast very nice and plentiful.

I thought I had ordered a sandwich with nduja. What I got - and, to be fair, it was probably described on the menu but I didn't read it carefully - was brioche bun with not only cheese, egg, bacon, and sausage, but a hash brown. And chips! I mean, brioche, hash brown _and_ chips (which were excellent, by the way)? I ate the bun and half the chips, but left most of the hash brown, which was a pity because it had most of the nduja, my main reason for ordering this, had stuck to it! And it was very expensive by the time I had a soft drink and service charge added. Service faultless, though.

I came here yesterday with my mum and brother and between us we ordered a carrot cake, decaf cappuccino, a pot of green tea, buttermilk chicken burger with fries, fish finger sandwich and salmon eggs royale. The cake was absolutely huge and extremely tasty and moist and at £5 is was worth the price tag - I’ve paid the same for smaller slices. All the food was very generous in size and my “single” fish sandwich was enormous. My mum enjoyed her eggs royale and my brother his chicken - though he said the batter was not seasoned at all which was a shame. The staff here were very friendly and we had a lovely few hours here. I would definitely come back for coffee and cake if in the area.

I had a small gathering of friends here last night and it was perfect. The manager Lewis was friendly and helpful with the reservation, the platters of nibbles were just right for the occasion and the waitress Serena made us feel very welcome and was friendly and helpful all evening. Thank you for helping me host a lovely evening with local friends.

Perfect Blend is a very nice and pleasant venue, easy to reach and very good location, I went their to celebrate birthdays and a fancy dress party on three different occasions. Love it. It's even better now that they've some extra work to it.

Used to be my favourite brunch place until they increased their prices astronomically! A full English breakfast (including hash browns and black pudding - which are now extras that you have to purchase separately) will now cost you a whopping £17!! And the quality of the food is no better than your local Wetherspoons that charges £7 for a full English breakfast. Severely overpriced establishment! Would not recommend! The service there is amazing though.

Their name says it all. The ratios of their food really does make the blend of flavours & textures just perfect. Nothing is either over or under done... It's like you've made it just right yourself, but still had great service. The coffee is good too and I highly recommend the brunch bagels... They're Amazing.😊

Can't comment on the food as I only had an iced coffee. The staff were young but helpful so the service was ok. It was the middle of the day so it was very quiet and the atmosphere was sedate.

I'd heard much about this over the years and went there for the first time at the end of September 2023. Really shocking service - in fact, no service at all really as I had to keep jumping up from the table to order, etc. Food was mediocre at best. I won't list the catalogue of service fails as there were too many to mention. Perhaps the biggest fail was the appalling attitude towards the customer. To top it all, the bill came with service included and I was not asked before the bill was totalled whether *I* wanted to include service. Please don't go there for good food, good service, a tidy place, and welcoming ambience - find somewhere else.

Big portions, i was full after half my plate, great value for your money if you are searching for a breakfast/lunch. Very nice and polite staff. Only downside was that i asked for no mushrooms and yet i still got them, had to waste them which is a shame. Great place, worth your visit !!!!!!!

Lovely wait staff however my shop bought pancakes were a complete disappointment. I ordered the optional side of bacon for a whopping £3.95 expecting lovely streaky crispy bacon but served very dry back bacon that was as also over cooked. My partner’s scrambled eggs were over cooked and served with some incredibly sad looking brown toast. It was hugely expensive for mediocre food.

I went to PB with a friend. We ordered English breakfast and I can honestly say it was the worst breakfast I have ever had. The food was cold, tastless and they couldn't even get the brown bread toasted correctly. It looks like the food was not freshly made. We paid under £13 per person, in total our bill was £35 for a rubbish breakfast. Never again. Save your money and go elsewhere

I really love this place! Went a few years ago, and decided to go back recently. Staff were pleasant, and the menu was plenty. I only had French fries and a chai latte, but it was hot and so good! I can't wait to go back again😊 A nice local haunt that everyone will enjoy 👍🏾

Lovely venue, in a great location shame the staff are incompetent, lazy and rude and the food is overpriced and not that great when it finally arrives. I can only assume it was the owner swanning around talking to his staff like crap and forcing himself to interact with a few customers. Very uncomfortable setting.

Cant comment on the food as I went for a private function. Its very basic, the toilets need a serious clean and some tlc. The bar didnt serve Henny, so I had to order Rose which further annoyed me. I was there for about 40 mins when I knew it was time to exit and leave.

Outside of my own house, the granola, yogurt, fruit & honey is one of the best I've had!! The smashed avocado on toast is also top dollar!! Food, service, cleanliness is defo worth a review! Thank you!!

Decent breakfast with really friendly service!

Always takes ages to get acknowledged. Zero eye contact. There’s no energy, effort and hardly any enthusiasm. This is not a one off either. Then when we did get served, the breakfast took about 20 minutes to arrive. By which time I had lost the will to live and wished I had eaten at home. Will Not be coming back, as like I said - unfortunately this is the norm, rather than an exception. And my friends toast had gone soggy from the avocado. Oh well, but plenty other choices nearby. Should have stopped coming ages ago as they never learn, so it’s partly my fault really. Oh and had the cheek to add on 10% service to the bill!!!!! Which I told them to remove.

They're no longer open late afternoon, evening. Shame as many people visit after work....

This pleasent, friendly coffee shop is somewhere I used to visit near the school where I worked. It has undergone a bit of a makeover with chairs and tables as well as sofas and soft chairs to sit in. They do a good range of coffees and also have tea and a bar. It's clean and comfortable. They do a range of pastries and light meals. It's obviously popular with mums meeting up with friends. Nice little coffee shop

Went to PB for the first time in a few years. What a disappointment. I ordered the Eggs benedict and my friend had the full English. My poched eggs were over done and rubbery. The so called homemade hollandaise sauce was tasteless and runny and was clearly made from a powder as there was still undesolved grains. I sent my order back. I decided to give the chef a second chance, but the only improvement was the eggs. Even the muffin was soggy. My friends English breakfast was another disappointment. The bacon was tough and rubbery. The sausage was clearly baked the night before and just microwaved on high for far to long. The baked beans tasted like they had been reheated several times and yet the black pudding had clearly not been cooked. The only good thing about our order was the coffee and orange juice. The two servers were so helpful and apologetic. They are the only reason I have given 2 stars.

Customer service was OK, however I did get unusual indigestion and upset stomach from the full English breakfast that I had (the sausage tasted a bit funny) which is disappointing considering the price I paid (almkst £20). I also felt like the facilities I.e. toilets should have been cleaner with towels provided and full functioning dryer.

Came here with my family for breakfast, child friendly and the food was great. Pleasant staff and an overall friendly environment. My strawberry banana smoothie was amazing

Really nice atmosphere and very child friendly! Tiffany our waitress was so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, one of the best vegetarian breakfast I’ve had in a long time and the juices were so fresh. We will definitely be heading back soon.

Don’t come here much but decided to pop in and have breakfast. Some of the salmon was undercooked and the bread was soggy.

When chilli scrambled eggs on one slice of toast costs nearly £11, it needs to be nice. The slice of toast was not toasted except small patch. It was obviously rushed through the kitchen. Made for a soggy tasteless base. The eggs were dry. Didn't finish the meal and gave the feedback which did not affect the bill. Friend's bacon appeared to have been reheated. They were making fruit smoothies but "didnt have any freshly squeezed orange juice". Won't be returning.

The place could do with a face-lift Gordon Ramsey would throw a fit, the decor was a bit dark. The two girls there were lovely and very accommodating with great service, charming and friendly. I went for a grilled chicken sandwich and a green tea without sugar it was delicious I must say well done guys. 😊👍🏿 Unsure when ill return as its a bit far for me to travel.

Came for lunch, had booked but due to how the waitress spoke to my friend we just had a drink and moved on. Disappointing, always try supporting this cafe, been coming for years.

i guess the staff are playing good waiter/bad waiter sometimes, been there for coffee and muffin, one lady was nice and polite and the other grumpy and rude, tried to take my coffee cup though was more than half full and acting weird. also quite expensive for a neighbourhood coffee shop

Used to love this place and have actually written a four star review for them before but sadly I’ve had to edit it as there’s no option to write a new one and keep the old one. I’ll be brief. Went with my toddler. No one approached us at the door so we took our own seat. It took 8 mins then I eventually went over to the counter and asked for menus… this is after 3 staff members looked over at me but didn’t notice I didn’t have menus or food. And I was looking right at them. Service was okay when they did come - they used to be exceptional. This is one of the reasons we always returned. Food came like warm and tasteless. No one cleared our plates at the end, I just went over and paid at the counter. Really expensive lunch for the terrible experience.

Definitely go here if you feel like repeating yourself multiple times to staff only to get the wrong order of the most bang average and overpriced food imaginable. Will not be returning. Also slightly concerned my partner got a meat sausage in her vegetarian breakfast - would not surprise me in the slightest

Very cold! Do not come in winter! I feel bad for writing this but I feel like people need to know not to come to this cafe in cold weather. I sat inside today (Tuesday 24th Jan 2023) for about three hours on my laptop, maybe 2pm til close at 5pm. I normally go to the workspace area in SW16 Bar & Kitchen but it was closed. I saw people also working on laptops so came in. I should have left as past 3.30pm it became so incredibly cold. I genuinely put my winter coat on over my jumper but was still cold (especially my hands - my gloves don’t work on my laptop touch pad). I really was so frustrated that I should have left. It put me in a bad mood, but I’m so meek that I paid the overpriced almost £10 for two coffees, even the silly charge for decaf and service charge they added to the bill (that I chickened out of asking them to take off, which they absolutely know and rely on people’s awkwardness with those extra charges). It was my fault not to dispute that though. One staff member was lovely (a man with colourful dyed hair). I feel sorry for him and the other staff who have to work there. Another staff member I think is partly to blame for making the shop as cold as it was. Around 3pm she opened the sliding glass front to take in outdoor seating and tables. I noticed the heat leave the room immediately and that it made me look up from my work. I don’t understand why they put out outdoor seating in January any way (I guess for smokers?) but why on Earth did this staff member choose to do that in the middle of the afternoon when the cafe still had customers? They closed at 5pm any way (I think they reopen for the evening). My biggest issue was that she left it open unnecessarily while she was gathering all the tables and chairs for ages. Common sense would have been to stack it all first beforehand, and then obviously bring it to the door, and then open it to carry it inside. I was honestly baffled. Those few minutes the floor-to-glass front was just left wide open allowed the January air to flood in and the heat collected in the room all day to escape. It’s just one big room. After she closed it, it felt to me that the heat never returned. Then I needed to put on my winter coat. The people next to me left. Two students came in but kept their coats on. The toilets were especially freezing, with no working hand dryers or towels, so you had the dry your hands using toilet roll from the cubicles. I asked a woman in the loos if she also found it cold and she responded ‘omg yes! I’m freezing!!’ So it wasn’t just me. I did politely ask the same staff member (long brown haired woman, perhaps over the age of 30) about turning the heat up but she answered flatly ‘no.’ She did point that there was only one heating source on the other side of the room. She was slightly brusque so I expect she’s asked a lot. (Though if she’s not new, you’d think she know not to leave the glass sliding door open while stacking up outdoor furniture in such an inefficient way when it’s 2C out). But I do understand it’s not actually her fault and it’s unfair to her to have to work in such a badly heated work environment. It’s the owner’s/management’s fault. The heating source was on the ceiling of the left side of the room above the bar. But the right side of the room was busier as it has the till, normal sized chairs and tables, and a wall of tables with plug sockets where myself and other people with laptops naturally sat. The furniture on the left bar side is more awkward low lounge sofa type seating and low coffee tables that come up to about below the knee, so not suited for eating or laptops or writing and so used less during the day. It does not make any good sense. The decor is pretty (I love the white statue) but I cannot see any attempt to suit the winter season. All hard surfaces in a big open space; no clear insulation, no cushions, table cloths or blankets, no extra heaters. Baffling. I did enjoy the coffee and loved the music playlist. I hope this review is not unkind and prompts better heating for staff and customers.

Staff were great, food was pretty good - the Caesar salad was excellent. We love the chocolate milkshakes! Find it a bit pricey though considering we didn’t get alcohol and it was still £50 for 2 people for brunch.

Delicious full English breakfast, hearty veggie breakfast, great eggs royale. I used to love the triple eggs - 3 poached eggs on English muffins, one Benedict (with ham), one Royale (with salmon) and one Florentine (with spinach) but they don't do that anymore, which is a real shame as it was perfect! The staff are a mix of friendly and surly folks so it's pot luck what you get. Both of our servers this week offered pretty poor service (certainly not worth the service tip that is automatically added to the bill) with one of them not writing down our order and then (unsurprisingly) getting our order wrong, and the other who made a point of asking if we wanted anything else like sauce etc. then pointedly not bringing us any, despite there being only one other table of customers at the time. The venue is spacious, stylish and great for larger groups with various options for sitting - there are regular tables and chairs, window seat sofas with low coffee tables, a long dining table with benches, a cosy booth at the back and bar stools at a cocktail bar. Pricing is expensive, but no more so than most 'tasteful' café/restaurants these days. They could definitely do with a loyalty card scheme to encourage customers to come back, as this is something most other cafés offer.

The brunch was very poor. Pancakes from a packet. Poached eggs barely cooked. Even the white toast was terrible. The cafe itself is very run down too.

Thought I would try Perfect Blend for an Americano having had excellent coffee there in the past. Not so this time sadly. (Extremely weak, barely any coffee flavour). I will try again though, in case this was a blip ....

Once my eyes stopped watering from the Smoke that was coming out of the Kitchen I focused on the Coffee and immediately wish I hadn't 🤕

I used to enjoy visiting perfect blend, however customer service has gone out the window. I ordered a smoothie, mentioned that this sizing is different. Member of staff said we are making cuts then immediately walked away. Whilst there, waited so long for someone to approach the us. Hi Appalling, I asked for a take away cup as I was so disappointed as a frequent customer felt unwelcome requested a takeaway cup and the contents reduced to half a cup. I did notice none of the usual staff were present maybe change of management nonetheless I decided to go meagan’s in Balham and it was amazing, as usual☺️.

Had a simply gorgeous hot chocolate there. Seats a bit too close together imo but nice food.

Gluten free options are often available.

I've just been there this morning to have brunch with the family. The staff were all very young and tried really hard. They were packed and also the till wasn't working. It wasn't their fault but the service a bit poor. Food was decent though. However what it was really disturbing was the way the manager treated the staff. He was extremely rude and swear at them in front of customers...one of the young waitress was at the bring of tears. I will never return on based on today's experience. I do hope the stuff find somewhere better, with proper training and where they are treated with a minimum of respect.

Long wait for food but otherwise good service/food and drink

Unfortunately this place has gone down hill. Firstly - the staff are absolutely lovely and always are, very attentive and smiley. However, the food previously was lovely, tasty and well presented. Now, the food is none of the above, we have given this place chance, after chance hoping that it would change as to what it previously was but its not looking hopeful. Food has been served multiple times, lukewarm, messy and overall disappointing. On a few occasions my child's food has come well after mine has been served and things have been missing. Milkshake tastes like Nesquik, boozy cocktails served in plastic cups and coffee has been served warm on many occasions. The menu needs updating (been the same choices for a long time), food standards needs upping and overall just needs revamping. Please do this as I used to absolutely love this place.

I had to write this review in hopes that the manager of this establishment will read it. I have given 5 stars due to the service from a young lady called Amarni whom served my husband and I on three occasions. Even when asking for her name I did not state if I was giving criticism or complaint and she was still fourth coming with the information . She was polite, smiling and suggested certain foods and drink which we purchased and very much enjoyed each time. There was an occasion where the chef messed up my burger 3 times in one visit and 2 times on another. Both times this young lady fixed it and did so with such grace, which made us want to return . She genuinely cares about your dining experience, very rare to find these days....... manager please give her a pay rise and keep sight on her for a further position in the future Thank you Amarni 😊

Unbelievable service , arrived ordered coffee and food waited so long for coffee finished coffee still no food then after we arrived a couple came in about 10 mins after us got their coffee waited long for the food also but got their food before us and it was same kind of food so no excuses for delay , after waiting 50 mins , we left and had to pay full price for coffee no “so sorry small discount for inconvenience “ Horrible experience, never going back there

Always so nice even when I look like I’ve been dragged through a bush backwards and can hardly get any words out before my coffee. Know my order off by heart and always have a smile on your faces. Perfect Blend Streatham - Atmospheric lighting not what it once was. Cutting back because of costs or just unaware of how leaving majority of lights off leaves the place looking dingy? Nice coffee despite the disapointing size of the large latte. Freindly female staff.

Ahh yeah nah great service nah yeah could have had more beans nah yeah, the Bloody Mary had us feeling nice and glonky a solid yeah nah all round we can confirm it's definitely not a nonce yeah yeah nah! A++

Not impressed, milkshake tasted like Nesquik and cost £4.75 McDonald's is so much better and cheaper. The fries where soft and disgusting was scared to ask for a replacement incase they do something to them, but i did ask as I'm paying for them we also got another portion of onion rings as well the 1st lot was nice, big mistake the fries were over greasy like they put them back in and onions rings also came greasy and kinda salty. When i went up for sauce bowls the woman behind the counter spilt a bit of someones coffee she used a cloth to wipe the sides then the same cloth to wipe the whole cup. Will never come back again.

Nice, friendly staff. The service was a little slow but we were tucked away around a corner. The food was well received. Kids portion was very generous and I've never seen my toddler eat so much before! I found the pancakes a little underwhelming though especially for the price.

My sister first introduced me to Perfect Blend years ago. Since then I’ve been there numerous times with different friends who have all enjoyed the experience. Most recently I reserved a table for a work meeting with a colleague who had never been there before. I wish I could stop and take photos of food but the hand cut chips…I have no idea how they did it, but they were excellent. Next time I might just go for a plate of chips! Even though there were no staff around (well they were but they were serving customers), on entering I had no problem finding my reserved table. The atmosphere is one of the things I love most about the place. I don’t get stressed out if the waiting service is slow, and, credit to them, I’ve never had any horrible problems from ordering to serving. The only downside I would say is that I really wanted a Chocolate Brownie but it didn’t appear to be available, and there was no indication as to whether whether any of the cakes of the day contained nuts.

Well.. What. A. Place. From the very first pour of coffee, this place exudes character and coolness. I was looking for somewhere nice to work as I’m passing though Streatham all the time. These pizzas were brilliant and of the highest quality. Brilliant taste and quickly prepared. Ten. Out. Of. Ten. WILL be coming back soon. WILL be telling all my friends about this place.

I went into Perfect Blend for my lunch and had a Halloumi and Avocado toasted sandwich. The portion size was huge and I took away half of it for my dinner. Was not disappointed. Friendly staff! Will be returning!
