Perch on Lancing Beach in Adur

We took friends here for Easter Monday brunch today, having visited ourselves twice last year for drinks and a lunch. It lived up to expectations and more. Very good food (4 full English breakfasts and a Halloumi & Shrooms), and a very efficient waitress Charley who handled our faffing and extra requests with great good humour! We also had a nice booth in the back corner which we appreciated, as the restaurant area is busy and therefore rather loud with families (and their dogs!) enjoying themselves. Add to that the lovely view of the beach, and it's a great spot to bring friends for an informal meal, thank you Perch team!

First time my husband and l had been there, we went with our West Sussex family, as we are from the West Country. The food was exceptional, very tasty, service and staff excellent, being on the beach looking out to sea was wonderful

Lovely vibe , fantastic views of the sea cafe on the beach , and the coffee is really really good . Dog friendly and easy to walk to makes a nice stopping place really Enjoyed it here visit a lot !

Long walk that took longer than expected for breakfast at the Perch, arrived at 1125 but told they had stopped serving breakfast although 1130 is advertised time, however did manage to get a take out bacon bap which was good

Cheesecake fans should definitely order the Back to Front Cheesecake to try something different - the base on the side with beautiful hazelnuts mixed in with the chocolate base. It works really well! I would also recommend the Bang Bang Chicken. It's a nice touch that tap water is provided automatically with the table and there's crayons/colouring template with the kids menu. If I was being super critical, the service was a little slow, but I understand they get very busy over lunch so completely understand this. Booking on the weekend seems essential. The atmosphere is lovely and it's nice that dogs are allowed. The view of the beach/sea is absolutely perfect. The ambience and interior design is lovely with lots of mirrors making it look like a really spacious room with lots of natural vibes.

What an amazing place. Absolutely heaving ,with a fantastic atmosphere. Our daughters took us there to celebrate Mothers Day. Food was excellent, and considering how busy they were, the service was first class. Will certainly be going again.

Absolutely cracking shared Sunday roast platter, three meats, loads of vegetables including cauliflower cheese, and unlimited gravy. Delightful service, well priced drinks, lovely setting. Superb.

An absolutely amazing experience..: perfect Sunday roast, engaging staff, great service, good value and relaxing atmosphere watching the sun set over the sea ! Who could ask for more ! Thank you Dionne and Mark … your great personalities made our meal extremely enjoyable !!!

Came here for breakfast with my mum, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Will absolutely be back. Be warned though, you will get hot sitting in the window! Even with it being 8°C outside, we did get very warm in the sun! The only thing that made it a 4 star was it took about 40 minutes for us to receive our food as they were really busy, and the chairs were really uncomfortable. Also, if you sit at the farthest point of the restaurant (closest to the gym), be aware that you will get blasted with wind any time someone opens the back/side door… a little frustrating but not the restaurant’s fault - just people being people🙄!

After a walk on the beech The Perch Lancing is so welcoming. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Dionne was our waitress today, so very friendly.Service is great ,our breakfast was delicious.Have been several times and it never disappoints.

I went to the perch on Sunday to have one of their AMAZING roasts. The servers were so lovely ensuring that we all had everything we needed. Special shout-out to Lucy and Mark who took care of us for the evening. Food came so speedy and was so delicious. Really recommend for anyone looking for the perfect Sunday roast!

Fun, buzzy seaside cafe with short but good menu.

We were passing by this beach cafe on our coastal cycle ride. Stopped for coffee amd cake. We really enjoyed our battenburg cake (the slice wasn't as generous as we hoped. Very conservative slice) but neitherless tasted delicious and soft texture. The organic mint tea was served in a tall glass and tasted very pleasant. The black coffee had good flavour and richness to it. Our bill was around £10 for 2 hot drinks and slice of cake. Plenty of places to sit. Well decorated with lots of plants and wooded furniture. Great views overlooking the sea. Only feedback would be, I would like to see gluten free cakes available.

Just had the most amazing lunch here, two of us had the Korean chicken burger and one had the steak sandwich, all of which was divine, perfectly cooked and generous portions. We don't usually do puddings but today was a special occasion so two of us had the Retro Knickerbocker which was huge, fruity, biscuity, toasty marshmallowy and ice creamy, just delicious and the other person had the Back to Front Cheesecake which they confirmed was heavenly. Mark was our server along with Keira both of whom were really welcoming. The restaurant was busy, as always, and booking is advised. Would definitely recommend.

After taking my order for drinks and breakfast I sat patiently waiting for my food. At no point did anyone check to see if I wanted or needed anything to eat as I had been sat for some time with just drinks. 50 minutes passed and I saw countless orders being taken to tables and at this point I felt so angry with the poor service I decided to ask for my bill to see if I would be charged for food I never had. On receiving my bill it was obvious the girl who took my order had not even put my request through, walked off and forgotten I was even there. I eat in a lot of nice restaurants and happy to pay whatever they charge and tip good service always. I don’t expect poor service anywhere and today left me feeling stressed and angry where normally I feel relaxed and content after an already stressful weeks work. Standards are set yet some staff feel they don’t apply to them. We are more than just money in your pocket, we are customers paying for quality food and quality service. I expect a full apology as if my employees upset a paying customer they would be made to do the same.

I expected Fresh juicy succulent mussels, but received tiny, overcooked mussels that hadn't been cleaned properly (they still had their beards left on). When I spoke to the general manager, she said "I'm sorry, I will let the Chelf know, and that was it"! Really simple to get good produce, and service right, the Perch failed at these basics.

As always, great staff, great food. Nice and chilled, lovely to chat with Finn and to be welcomed by Bryony and Ella. Our favourite place in Worthing, made better by such a warm welcome.

This is a favourite beach side lunch spot. The mussels are always delicious here.

It's great to have this in Lancing. Good breakfast today but I don't like being emotionally blackmailed into tipping while the server is watching. Just pay them what they deserve.

Literally serves the best god damn Latte ever!!

This is the third time I've eaten here this year! The food is extremely tasty, the chicken succulent and the chips, well they must be bad for the diet because they are so delicious! As a beach cafe it's hard to fault, a hive of activity with the excellent food served quickly and with a smile. Nothing is too much trouble!

Disappointed really they have a fantastic position but it was a bit burger joint menu.

One of the nicest roasts I've had in a long time and I do love a roast. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the gravy 😘 👌. All followed up by a wonderful sharing crumble. Lovely friendly staff and all at a great price. I'll definitely be coming back here.

WOW!!! The roast dinner platter to share is absolutely outstanding. We topped it off with the crumble and unlimited custard, which was equally AMAZING! Quite honestly one of the best roasts we have had in a very long time. The staff and service is second to none in such fabulous surroundings. Our baby and two dogs were happily accommodated in a very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended to all.

Fantastic restaurant on Lancing beach. A lot of dog walkers can sit outside. Inside is very nice atmosphere, very good food with a lot of choices. Service is quick and staff were very friendly. Highly recommend!

Just got a takeaway drink after park run. Lovely place, but my hot chocolate was not very hot. My million shortbread, on the other hand, was lovley.

Beach location with great views over the sea obviously, rock up on a windy day and watch the windsurfers excellent. The food is really good with a varied menu I defy you not to find some thing you would like here. The mussels are sooo good, highly recommend. Large car park to the rear with easy access Went back last Saturday, I'm pleased to say that the mussels are still as good as ever and the fishcakes are top notch. Keep up the good work guys.

I have been to the Perch on a number of occasions. Accompanying the lovely views of the sea are friendly and fun staff and a good selection of food and drinks - they are slightly unlucky not to be given five stars, will try again as think they’re capable

One of our favourite beach cafes , worth booking during busy times , friendly staff quality food with good wait times . Best of all it’s dog friendly ( and kids ) every ones happy . Menu a bit limited.

We went for breakfast but just missed the cut off. We looked at the menu and saw they had a kilo of mussels so thought why not!! OMG they were the best I’ve ever had and with the crusty bread to mop up that amazing broth like sauce I was in heaven. I fully recommend eating here as you know you are eating quality with quantity. Thank you guys I am now going to eat here more regular when I’m in the area.

Mocha coffee was excellent but cappuccino was nowhere near hot enough. Fish and chips was absolutely dripping in grease and salad side was very boring. Burgers were also tasteless but the chips were divine

Just a very pleasant place to enjoy the best of British Coastline. Always a good day when we go there.

Always busy here. Luckily we were a group of 5 grabbed a table. Lively coffee and hot chocolate. It was New Year's day, so we did our best to resist the lovely looking cakes

Onion allergy people need to be aware of a very limited menu for them, my choice ended up as steak or steak.

Even though the place was packed out and we had to wait a little while for service it was worth it would recommend the Perch to anyone.

I absolutely love Perch. The staff are just wonderful, so warm and friendly and make it such a positive experience coming here 🤍 the food is delicious too, love the bang bang chicken and the pizzas! And the view just stunning. High recommended.

Booked the festive afternoon tea for early Birthday/Christmas celebrations. It was our first time to Perch on Lancing Beach and would definitely go back. The festive afternoon tea was great, cakes, scones, sandwiches were all great. Especially the mini crumbles. Had to take some cakes home as so much there. Staff lovely, helpful Definitely booking again next year. Oh and the Festive Hot chocolate YUM!! Thank you

Really sad experience, we drive down from London every Christmas Eve for the past 3 years to walk our dog and the Children (3 of them) Our eldest son is autistic and we have a beautiful Husky that we love to walk on the beach they all love this calming part of Christmas. We normally stop and have a wonderful fish & Chip late lunch, unfortunately this year we arrived at 15:03 and were turned away even after we explained our situation, we were told that the kitchen closed at 15, this isn’t stated at all on the website nor was this the case last Christmas as I have photos of us eating at 15:30. Very sad but a win for the beach green pub as we stopped there and had a wonderful meal and now this will become our new tradition, the landlady was so welcoming and friendly, major meltdown avoided.

Went to the Festive Afternoon Tea with a friend. It was lovely! The staff were really attentive and we were offered a hot drink as soon as we arrived at the table. We both enjoyed a tasty hot chocolate. Then the food came on a 3 tier plate stand and had a mix of sandwiches, enormous scones with butter jam and cream and a selection of cakes and mini desserts. We decided on tea with the food and this came as a pot each rather than sharing a larger pot. I drank 2 cups from my pot and it still wasn’t empty! This was a lovely experience and the food was well worthy of a high class hotel but at half the price. Loved it!

Food was great, the service was wonderful, we have our company Christmas do at the Perch for the last 2 years.

We chose the vegan bap..and very good it was.This is now on the regular call rosta.A good range of craft beers too.With a bus stop 100yds away...very pleased.

This place has everything going for it ...and is worth a visit. I would use it more except the accoustics are very difficult, and the prices are too much for the quality provided.

Lovely restaurant right on the beach. We have visited before but this was the first time with our dog. We sat outside in the November sunshine and it was actually sheltered and quite warm. It was very busy but service for two drinks was a little slow - the brownies were really tasty though! Recommended, and we will visit again soon.

First time here no complaints .Well worth a visit ,on the beach sun blazing through the windows,parking £1 for two hours!! Bargain.My only grump is NO PEPPER MILL !Come on ! Take your own.

We arrived approx. 30 mins early for a Sunday roast reservation and had a drink before being shown to our reserved table. Despite booking a table days in advance, we were unfortunately advised upon ordering that there were no vegetarian / vegan options left. This was extremely disappointing given that there was no requirement to specify a vegetarian / vegan option at the time of booking. Furthermore, no notice of the situation was provided, given that we had arrived early. Also, our table reservation was relatively early in the Sunday roast sitting, which meant that the vegetarian / vegan options had run out after just 1.75 hours of Sunday roast service. We did receive a free drink each, which was appreciated, however, this didn’t come close to compensating for the need to find another source of dinner so late in the day, which unfortunately turned out to be impossible.

The atmosphere and decor are welcoming as were the staff. Unfortunately the mocha and cappucino drinks we ordered were just vile. Giving someone lots of something is no benefit if it is inferior. You have a great location, let it inspire you to provide better fayre - please

My family and I had a lovely lunch, food was genuinely amazing and the waitress Dionne was awesome. The only reason I cant give 5 stars for atmosphere was that dogs are allowed in and were barking and whining. In a busy restaurant with a lot of noise and bustle, I don't think dogs should be allowed in. Other than that I highly recommend Perch at Lancing Beach.

I've stopped at the cafe a few times for a coffee and snack. Very reasonably priced, nice selection tipn of cakes and a great view across the beach and out to sea. Staff always friendly and helpful.

A last minute request for a table of 10 was accommodated, service was fast, efficient and friendly. Food was excellent, all served together and hot.

We had a fantastic meal here for my son's 2nd birthday. The food was delicious, as always, and good size portions that feel good value for money compared with other places. The staff were so helpful with the birthday cake and couldn't have been more friendly and smiley. It really is an asset to Lancing beach. Special mention to Dionne, who was super helpful and attentive.

The food was good (Sunday lunch) and the service was good but it was so loud. Tables very close together and people just felt on top of each other.

Excellent experience - great food and friendly service. Great views from the side facing the sea. Best to make a reservation during school holidays.
