A very cute and cozy place for breakfast or coffee. They have delicious cakes and different vegetarian and vegan options too.

I simply ADORE this cafe. As an Australian I feel like I have some good experience cafe-ing and this little pantry cafe is just a dream. The food is fresh and delightful with a mix of cabinet salads / sausage rolls and baked goods as well as a kitchen for freshly made menu items. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the coffees are delish. Plus it’s doggie friendly!

An amazing little gem, absolutely tasty food that's not your regular fair and cakes that are too good, everything made fresh in house, also very polite and welcoming staff. Just give it a try, it's how things should be done.

Lovely wholesome cafe. It’s my mother-in-law’s local and she brings us here every time we visit! The coffee is excellent, the meals are high quality, and they have lots of local products including artisan bread. The sausage roll was one of the tastiest I’ve ever had!

Great spot for lunch or just a coffee/drink. I had a lovely salad bowl filled to the brim with a range of options - all of which were vegan. Loads of baked goods too like sausage rolls etc (meat and veggie) and cakes! Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Wonderful friendly authentic service and the most amazing smooth coffee! Frittata with a homemade jalapeño sauce is a must! Many thanks we will be back!

This place is a little gem. Tucked away, so we've walked past it hundreds of times. But it's lovely. Food is amazing, coffee top class, service excellent. Highly recommend.

Amazing locally run cafe, been a fan for years all about organic, local seasonal produce. Everything homemade, the best chai in Cardiff, second to none. One of my favourite haunts, great deli too and produce to buy. Lovely staff and amazing food!!

Lovely cafe that I go to often. Great for a takeaway coffee, but absolutely delicious food if you have time to sit (though much of it is take away too). They also sell cheeses, preserves, dairy, meats, and gifts. Lovely staff too and always great service for me and my dog.

Lovely little artisan corner shop. I visit here frequently when I stop at my friend's who lives in the area. -coffee -bread -glamorgan sausage -milk -cake -cheese What more do you need? Little expensive but what else is money for? Too many questions... Not enough information.

It was my first time going after the lockdown. The menue had shrunk and they do no longer offer the platters. The salads were delicious. The warm savory pastry was perfect. My friend had a coffee cake, that is to be avoided as the frosting was extremely salty. But they had the most delicious hot chocolate that I ever had. This cafe uses great ingredients and have a lovely atmosphere inside. I home they do well, as it is a gem.

Went there to buy cheeses on basis it has "Cardiff's largest selection" - had no cheeses 🤷🏻

The food is always really tasty here, and it’s lovely there’s a little selection of items to purchase in the shop. It has a nice organic farm shop / cafe feel about it. Our only complaint is there’s not enough setting, especially during COVID.

Great local store for all food organic. Free range eggs, bread, milk and coffee etc. Organic foods. You can seat to enjoy tea, coffee or snacks all organic. Love all things organic. You can pick up fresh organic vegetables and a service with a smile. Great staffs 👌

Estábamos en Cardiff para un concierto y no nos apetecía el desayuno en el hotel. Ya había estado en Penylan Pantry una vez antes y pensamos que valía la pena caminar para intentar tomar el almuerzo. Tuvimos la suerte de conseguir la última mesa (sábado por la mañana) y pedimos los tazones de desayuno de carne y verduras. Mucha variedad de alimentos en un tazón, algunos calientes y otros fríos (no estoy seguro de que el frío, pero los huevos cocidos blandos muy bien cocinados, sean mi preferencia sobre el caliente) pero todo sabía muy bien y fue muy satisfactorio. El café también era bueno. Había visto unos deliciosos cruasanes de chocolate cuando pagué en el mostrador y pedí que empacaran dos para poder llevarlos a casa. Fueron, sin duda, los mejores que hemos tenido, un verdadero placer. Es un pequeño lugar sensacional y vale la pena visitarlo.

Mel and team have catered for us on two family occasions now. The care they take in finding the right menu for the event is reflected in the quality of the food and service: nothing short of superb. I cannot recommend them highly enough - on so many levels. They are also incredibly nice people who will go above and beyond to ensure the event is a success (even when given the wrong dates!)...suffice it to say, we are huge fans!

Thry catered for 60 people at my birthday party and I can't recommend highly enough. Fabulous cheeses, chutney, fish and meats and the best breads. Guests were well impressed. Friendly, attentive service, Mel put so much thought into putting it all together for us.

Awful visit at penylan, staff were rude to begin with, food was undercooked & overall was an shocking service!

Alissa and Melissa provided cakes and catering for the 4th birthday of my daughter. It was a though task as they were asked for dairy, soya, and gluten free food. Cakes (chocolate and carrot) were simply delicious and looked stunning. Catering was outstanding for quality and taste. Presentation was also creative, with lots of ideas to make food look fun (no spoilers here). That made children eating healthy look easy. It was nice to see the little ones, some with dietary restrictions, all picking up food from the same table without having to worry about the ingredients. Absolutely recommended!

Decided to eat here as one of busiest 'restaurants' in vicinity, so hoped it was good.While extremely hectic and busy we were able to order very quickly and a 'fairly well' presented light meal appeared quite quickly.Quantity was not too good and items clearly had been pre cooked and maintained warm for a while.However waitress service good and no doubt far far better on a 'normal' week or weekend day.

A busy lunchtime but space found, very friendly and thoughtful staff serving delicious food. Yes, it was pricy, yes the service could have been quicker but the food was carefully prepared and very good. No hesitation in recommending this Cardiff secret!

The food was ok,fairly pricey, you can get a 2 course lunch just down the road for under £10,but it wasn't that,the staff are rude and not friendly at all,I asked for a seviette, and it was like I asked to lend £10,if you serve a sandwich or any food please bring a servette with it,and salt and pepper would be a bonus, and please smile,we are after paying for the food

I have only ever written one review- and that was for a hotel, because the service was so good. This time it’s the opposite and I’m so frustrated I have to put it in print. When the Pantry first opened, near to where I live,I visited several times. A little expensive, slow service, but pleasant enough and an asset to the local community. In the last couple of years I have been there and left on 5 occasions without being served, and the sad thing is- I’m not sure anyone who works there would even be aware! Once my partner and I left because we waited 5 minutes plus at the counter and were ignored by 2 members of staff, 1 of whom was cleaning the counter right in front of us! No acknowledgement/ no,’ I’ll be with you in a moment.’ I’ve also sat outside, at uncleared tables, on 2 occasions with the dog on the way back from a walk and been ignored completely by staff who come out to serve others. Today, the third time took the biscuit. Having been subject to the poor service in the past

I had a delicious salad box with salmon at this deli. It really was ever so tasty but at £12.95 for a small (but packed full) box of salad and salmon and a coke, I don't think I can afford to return that soon !!!

We waited nearly an hour for food, after reminding the staff of our order we were told we were forgotten about! In regards to this, they gave us a free pot of tea and refunded our meal - the customer service was great, they were very apologetic and the food was amazing once it arrived. I would recommend going there.

Always a warm welcome, tantalising food & often containing components (eg “the best maple syrup you’ve tasted”) that you can buy right there off the shelf Ever changing seasonal menu, great coffee, they make mean salads & also cakes to order And from conversations with staff & owners all their products are chosen under a strong, evolving & unwavering ethical code What’s not to like ? Ps If you’re in the centre note they run the cheese pantry in the market hall & The Secret Garden Cafe in Bute park to the same standards

This is a wonderful organic deli and coffee shop in a beautiful part of Cardiff. Definitely treat yourself to a cup of tea and cake here, then pick up some wonderful cheeses or veg and other bits and pieces to take home. One of my favourite places, and a place I love to take myself to as a special treat.

One of my favourite places for a coffee & cake in Cardiff. So many lovely flavours on the deli, there's always something new no matter how many times I visit. Get a window seat, perfect people (and dog) watching spot.

Decent food, but quite pricey, and extraordinarily slow. 35 minute wait for soup and salad! Waiter took his lunch break as we waited too!!

Lovely lunch today. My friend and I enjoyed our visit. Will be back soon.

Ha sido la tercera vez que vuelvo a la despensa y cada vez que he tenido a mi bebé conmigo y he usado la trona para alimentarlo, ha habido una sensación de ser una molestia durante el destete dirigido por el bebé. Hace poco llevé a mi amiga que tenía un cochecito y el personal no la ayudó cuando estaba luchando por pasar la puerta con el cochecito. En cambio, un cliente mayor vino a rescatarla. Sentimos que no podían esperar a que nos fuéramos y sentíamos que estábamos siendo una molestia y ocupábamos demasiado espacio. Hay un aire de arrogancia con algunos miembros del personal y el servicio al cliente es realmente malo

Cosy café style atmosphere. Good, fresh wholesome food and a variety of coffee and tea. Everything is made on or close to the premises, including the delicious chutneys. Indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly service.

Food quality is superb with some quirky but yummy options. Not cheap but very good value given the high quality. Well worth a visit.

Limited breakfast option, but every single dish is special. Went on Sat. Morning it was so busy, barley had seated. Every time I go there I must from their Jam.

If you want to pay London prices, enjoy cold Cappuccinos and like waiting over 20 minutes for Toast & Marmite then this place is for you!

Pricey. The bread is amazing though, but the prices still seem rather high. The coffee is very strong (not a negative, but worth knowing if you're not a fan- ask for half a shot). Very drafty and yet somehow stuffy at the same time. Tables all seem to exist in an always sticky state- spent over an hour and a half working on my laptop and haven't seen much table cleaning happen around me. Still, a fairly nice place for lunch. Definitely will be buying bread to take home when in the area.

Visited the pantry many times and have always enjoyed my time hadn't really noticed the lack of customer interaction before however after visiting this weekend felt a little put off by the interaction we had with a member of staff.

Great food, especially the chorizo sausage. The eggs were great soft boil eggs with them being gooey in the middle when cutting into them. Would visit again to try some cake

I visited the Penylan Pantry today on a friends recommendation. The staff were extremely friendly and chatty and the food was delicious and plentiful. The menu was diverse and I found it hard to make a choice as I wanted it all! The place was extremely busy and relatively small but this did not deter from the custom the pantry receive. Although I only had the brunch - smashed avocado with all the trimmings, the cakes and pastries looked amazing and on reflection I wish I'd had bought some to take home. A wide selection of coffee and tea available, both food and drink at reasonable prices and a quirky and comfortable environment to pass some time away. What a little gem!

Great food, nice staff and great range of options (gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan). The venue is very nice looking ,and invites you in. I was with a family member and when looking through the menu, it was slightly pricey. However the food was great and the portions were fairly big. A great place to make a stop for lunch or breakfast.

First visit to this venue and I wasn’t disappointed. I had a fabulous mixed salad (really tasty and I’m not generally a salad person) along with what could be described as a giant sausage roll, although that wouldn’t do it justice. The roll/pie had a lovely pastry and a really meaty middle - a bit too much for me to finish really. It was man sized. My daughter had the same but the veggie version which she loved.
