Peet's Restaurant in Highland

We were recommended this restaurant at the b&b we were staying at and it did not disappoint.Although the majority of dishes were fish based and appeared to be popular with other diners we both opted for other meals. Chicken Teuchter with haggis and whisky cream was outstanding as was the sweet potato curry. A very spacious, clean and slick run restaurant which is clearly very popular with hill walkers, cyclists and NC500 travellers. Highly recommend.

Fantastic restaurant offering superb seafood at excellent prices.. The lady working as the sole waitress on the evening of our visit was very friendly and helpful. Excellent service. Also saw her cleaning a table after another guest left and it was clear she took Covid protocols very seriously giving a full clean of table and chairs. The most rigorous I have seen anywhere. If in Lochinver I would suggest this is a must ifyou like seafood. Fantastic

Covid security is tight and taken extremely seriously, tables are well spaced and there’s a one-way system round the roomy restaurant. There’s enough choice on the menu, I opted for goat cheese to start and the fish platter for main. The starter was creamy and tasty. The mains fresh and locally caught. Chocolate orange tort finished the meal off nicely (would have liked to have seen cheese and biscuits as a menu option).Our server ran the whole place brilliantly, Wi-fi was a nice touch, prices are good for the quality of food and service provided, thank you.

Although the menu is not extensive for me the fish available was freshly cooked and well presented. The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant has put all the correct procedures in place. The prices are reasonable and it is advisable to book ahead as it is very popular.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Peet’s. They have all the standard covid precautions and we felt well looked after during our time there. The menu is quite vast with lots of options but we went for the seafood. We shared the hot fish platter and the mussels - both were delicious and would highly recommend! The staff work extremely hard and were very friendly and accommodating on our visit.

Ate here while on holiday in Lochinver but had to book online several days in advance. The menu was varied and dishes well presented. Waiting staff were attentive and friendly. Would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

The teuchter chicken is a slight variation on balmoral chicken but is without doubt the best I’ve had!There was only one member of staff on duty and she was so busy but worked incredibly hard and was still so friendly and gave us some local tips. This place is very popular so you will have to book in advance.

We keep talking about Peet’s and the brilliant meal we all had here. Food was brilliant, everything was cooked from scratch, and really tasty. Not one of us had anything but praise for our meals. Thanks for a fab time.Covid secure, felt very safe here too.

It's said that Scottish seafood is some of the best in the world - well you can't get better than that served at this charming restaurant. Welcoming friendly staff, efficient service all made for a wonderful dining experience. One felt very safe & reassured as Covid regulations were strictly adhered to.We started with chilli scallops & seafood chowder followed by langoustines, my wife had been longing for these all holiday and wasn't disappointed. I had a seafood platter which excelled expectations.Be certain to book as you don't want to be disappointed.

I had the Lamb Shank as my main and it was one of the best main courses I have ever had! Cooked to perfection, bone just slide right out and tasted amazing!! Highly recommend this restaurant, the food was amazing and the customer service matched too!

Food was great here, especially if you’re a seafood fan. The service was swift and friendly, everything was super-covid secure and the team were lovely. The lady behind the bar helped me with a great website for walking trips in scotland and the maitre ‘d / front of house was really friendly and accommodating when I wanted to swap out something from the seafood platter that I didn’t like. They went above and beyond however when I had vehicle trouble and they found someone who could help me out to get running again. I was panicking that I’d be spending the night on the harbour and know van campers have a bad reputation at the moment so having booked a site to avoid any problems didn’t want to be causing trouble. Thank you so, so much - I got to my site in one piece and am pleasantly full and had a lovely evening.

Had an amazing meal at this lovely restaurant. Fantastic and friendly staff and followed all COVID regulations, we felt safe and reassured. Really good menu and the lamb shank was fantastic. Book in advance and you won't be disappointed

The restaurant staff were excellent when we visited - friendly and welcoming! The food choice is very good as is the quality. It is predominantly seafood which suited us fine. Good value and enjoyable.

Had a fabulous seafood platter, scallops and monkfish in this well organised Covid free restaurant. If you love fish this restaurant is ideally for you. Staff were extremely attentive and polite during our relaxing evening meal. Would highly recommend this seafood restaurant.

Takeaway fish and chips was fantastic. Large portions and tasted amazing, restaurant also looked lovely for those wanting to eat in.

We booked a dinner for our wedding anniversary. Both the front of house and our waitress were aware of that fact and wished us all the best, which was a lovely, personal touch.We had scallops to start, then fishermans platters with side of chips and cheescake for dessert. I really regret not taking more photos. Scallops were perfectly cooked and fishermans platter was good value for money. Cheescake was to die for. The wine also very good. For three courses each, some soft drinks and two large glasses of wine our bill came to £60-odd. Excellent value for money. We were actually regretting that we only booked for one meal.

We visited Peets after a recommendation from our host at Bonnie Haven B&B and we are very glad we did! The food was absolutely first class and the service was second to none. Very thorough with the Covid cleanliness too which made us feel very comfortable.

What a treat Peet's restaurant was. This was our 30th wedding anniversary and we were hoping for something a bit special and boy it so was.The covid precautions that were in place were excellent and well explained. We were initially served by DJ who proved to be an efficient and very personable young man. Then Elaine served us and again we enjoyed her efficiency and loveliness. We watched as they made safe tables and seating for incoming guests. So thoroughly done. In fact we told them how impressed we were.I had the langoustines and boy were they impressive and delicious. My lovely wife had the fish and chips and again delicious. Obviously all local. DJ and Elaine continued to ensure we had everything we needed and we so enjoyed their friendly natural service. A true joy.For dessert I had the chocolate and orange torte with fresh cream and my wife had the cheesecake with raspberry coulis and icecream and again both mouthwateringly delightful.This visit to Peet's was a truly joyful and wonderful experience.We cannot recommend it enough. Thank you guys!

Food superb sea food and game cant say any more just perfect venison stew was the best iv tasted so tender I have not got a bad word to say about this restaurant staff well up to the job and friendly

Wow Wow Wow according to my wife who ordered the Fisherman Platter. We have been traveling the NC500 anti-clockwise and although good food as per my reviews this was the best by far!!!! Absolute such value for money! The freshest seafood by a mile. I had the Venison stew which was very tender. But, no matter what you order, do not miss adding the Sticky Toffee Pudding to end your night. Already planning how we can cover the 4 hour drive from Edinburgh to come back here for a meal

Booked ahead of our stay in lochinver. Food was delicious. Fresh off the boat onto your plate. I received a couple of instruments with my seafood platter and was unsure of how to use them, young girl serving didn’t know either.

We came to Peet’s after hiking Suilven (read: very tired and starving hungry). We actually booked the table at the top of the mountain! The food was absolutely top notch, definitely recommend the scallops and langoustines. The staff were really friendly and Covid measures were in place and respected. We were really looking forward to it and it did not disappoint. We’ll hopefully be back some time!

We were staying at Clachtoll Beach during our recent tour of the nc500. We had booked into Peet’s Restaurant so that we had somewhere to eat for dinner during our trip. Dinner was booked for 8pm as we thought this was suitable to our plans. Upon arrival at the restaurant the staff were friendly and took us to our table, viewing to the window and harbour views. A waitress brought over menus and said that she would return in a few minutes to take our order. We waited around 15 minutes to have our drinks order taken and we ordered our meals now as we were hungry. Around a further 15 minutes, our drinks and starters arrived. Food was nice and we were looking forward to our mains. After finishing our starters, we waited an hour, for our mains to come. We had ordered three pizzas (not much to make) which is why we were wondering why the wait? There was only 8 tables seated for dinner, two of which were a family of four. Our waitress did not apologise once for the delay in our meals coming or offered to get us more drinks during our wait. The waitress was nice and friendly and spoke to us while we were setting up the bill, but was looking forward to our meal and this ruined it as we didn’t finish our food as it was too late to eat. I’ve read reviews that the restaurant are doing their best with current situation but I feel they could do much better. As I said it wasn’t busy, but a simply ‘were sorry for your wait, we will have your food out asap’ wouldn’t go a miss and would be appreciated by customers.

Fabulous battered cod & chips (what else should you eat on the west coast!) and a generous box of deliciously fresh sea food, crab, salmon, langoustines etc., wow!

Had a lovely meal here during our holiday. The food was delicious, staff were friendly. Importantly, during these times, they seemed to take customer safety serious, with tables well spaced out, staff wearing facemasks, and tables and menus disinfected after use. Do book a table (easily done through their website) in advance, because it's a small & popular restaurant.

We drove 11 miles inland after finding a their sign, when we arrived we were told we could not come in as they were “fully booked” however there were plenty and plenty of empty tables. The staff seemed incapable of giving a validated excuse as to why we could not eat here. We then proceeded to try and book over the phone to which they hung up on us several times. We needed up going somewhere else for lunch. Not worth your time, or effort, or money, go somewhere else

Really tasty, well cooked food. The precautions for Covid 19 were excellent, really thorough cleaning of everything between sittings, one way system, staff in masks. We all choose something different over 2 nights and every meal was excellent. Perfectly cooked steak, fresh fish and sea food. Good selection if wines and beers too. Friendly staff and a great dining experience. Really think it under sells itself with the understated sign outside. You don't get food this good in many places!

We visited Peets in August during our NC500 trip. The food was good and a sensible level of adaptations for COVID compliance.

We dined here twice during a Highland trip. First evening was a birthday celebration for my wife when we were a party of 4 and then a dinner for two later in the week. Both meals excellent! These folk have thought about the Covid changes they need to make for the safety of their clients and staff. It must be tough for businesses with such a short season to take out tables and turn away diners. So be sure to book and honour your reservation! The standout of both dinners was the locally landed lobster. Cooked just right by a deft hand and with a butter garlic sauce on the side and some straw chips and salad on the side made for a lovely dinner on a sunny Highland evening. The restaurant sits at the edge of the village and the Loch - you are in a working harbour. The concrete pile across the way and the dilapidated hotel next door should not put you off. There is a chef who knows what to do in the kitchen and efficient, friendly staff front of house. For carnivores, I can recommend the steaks. Delicious and cooked as you want. Lovely home made pates and a good range of specials. We will be back again and again.

We booked this restaurant as a final evening on our 4 days in Lochinver . The starter - we shared was Salmon bruschetta . Hubby had fish and chips , I chose salmon - for desert the ice creams . Lovely well presented and greasy quality food .A lovely place - felt comfortable and safe . Staff busy but attentive and friendly . Excellent all round and reasonably priced - fab Thankyou

We went to Peet’s this weekend and were very pleased with our experience. Location and food were very good, and staff were really lovely. Good Covid-19 measures being taken.

We ate here twice during our week long stay in Lochinver and thoroughly enjoyed both meals.Everything from the langoustines and calamari starters to the venison casserole, lamb shanks and steaks were lovely. Price wise it was the most reasonable meal we had during our trip and definitely the tastiest too. The staff were lovely and dealt with the Covid social distancing measures really well.

Loved our dinner at Peets. We had dinner a couple of nights after their re-opening post lockdown but you honestly wouldn’t have guessed everything was run very smoothly. They are fully set up for social distancing. The tables are well spaced out and a one way system is in place. I have allergies and these were catered for without hesitation. The staff are a true credit to this restaurant. Highly recommend. The scallops were the highlight for me.

Food was delicious- Haggis, neeps and tatties in a beautiful whiskey sauce Amazing langoustines and a fresh and tasty seafood platter.The children said the Biscoff cheesecake was the best thing they have ever eaten and the crumble was oven baked and really fruity too. Nice wee seafood resaurant, friendly staff, and they took my gluten intollerance seriosly, with alternatives on a number of dishes. Had mackeral pate, followed by huge fishermans platter. Good value too!

Sat in for dinner on our first evening in Lochinver. A great menu selection and the staff were fantastic. Even went back for a takeaway on the second night.

This was our first meal out since lockdown and happily it coincided with Peet's reopening night. Although there were other choices on the menu, why wat in a fishing port and have something other than fish?I started with very delicious scallops - would love to know the recipe! Served with gorgeous soft bread, probably home-made but I failed to ask. My husband had a huge portion of very tender calamari. We then both opted for the cold seafood plate. So yummy. A huge portion too. There was hot and cold smoked salmon, crab, mussels, salmon pate, mackeral and langoustines. Served with salad and more good bread.I felt for the staff, getting used to new routines and regulations but they did a wonderful job. All were very courteous and polite and very efficient. Highly recommend.

Stopped by for lunch and sat outside because we were with our dog. However, the service was very good and i still think about the salmon I had, it was truly amazing. My partner had venison which was really good too. Don't come here if you want to eat pizza, they do great fresh local produce very well.

Been for a Thursday night dinner as we were staying locally in Lochinver for a night didn't know if we had to book a table. Due to very less option of restaurants to choose from we opted for Peet's as it was seafood restaurant.The waitress serving us was very welcoming and attentive equally the food we ordered was the best I ever had during our 3 year visit to the west and North coast of Scotland. From the soup of the day to the desert served was ace. kuddos! To the women working there tirelessly to serve quality food. Would definitely visit next year during our Highland gateway!!!

We happened to visit Lochinver when there was a power cut! The staff at Peet's did their best to provide cold food (cheese platter & dessert) for me and allowed my husband to bring in fish and chips from the local van to eat in as the weather was so awful. The staff couldn't have been kinder and more helpful. We went back the next day and enjoyed pizza!!

the staff went out of their way to fulfill our vegan wishes, they even have their own vegan menu, really very pioneering, the food was excellent!

We were very pleased with both the atmosphere and quality of food. Good food (we had seafood, of course), casual atmosphere and a short walk from our B & B.

We were traveling in November so finding a restaurant that was open was primary, but to find an excellent one was gravy. We enjoyed our meal and thank you for making us feel welcome.

We were on Day 6 of the NC500 for a magazine write up and were travelling anti clockwise This was the first restaurant we encountered with fresh large prawns, and they were very edible. Not so much the price, but overall a pleasant meal . Recommend.

What can I say, both nights we went we recieved impeccable service and delicious food!! The location is stunning and interior is wonderfully designed with a mix of high end yet casual feel to it. Perfect, will be back time and time again!

We have just finished our meal at Peet's, which has been by far the best of our NC500 meals!

Peet's is a low-key restaurant that you might miss if you don't look for it. It is a hidden gem in Lochinver.It has a varied menu from fish to lamb to vegetarian foods. I had the freshest fish that was prepared perfectly. My husband went for the lamb and he raved about it. The staff were helpful and friendly. Do yourself a favor and stop by and have a bite to eat. And by the way, the dessert are divine!

We had a great meal here for our anniversary. I booked in advance and they kindly decorated the table for us. The food was very good and the staff attentive and pleasant. I would recommend and when in the area will call again.

Enjoyed a very scenic walk along Lochinver Bay to Peet's Restaurant at the harbour, received A very warm welcome by the young staff. The service was very good, all the staff were friendly without being too intrusive. The surroundings and ambience were lovely, lending to a good atmosphere.

Maybe we were unlucky on what we ordered but the fish and chips had no flavour, was quite small and the fish was not crispy at all! I have had fish and chips in many places and this was below average! The venison had a slight burn taste and the rice on the side was a ridiculously small portion! Creme brûlée had no flavour also, so overall a quite poor dinner!

The staff, service, & menu of this quaint restaurant were all of the highest quality & even provided Gluten Free options without any bother. We would highly recommend this hidden culinary gem to anyone visiting the Lochinver township.

Wow! Fabulous food and very friendly service. One of our party was vegetarian and found plenty of choice. Our group of 4 all agreed that this was by far the best restaurant we visited, not only on the NC500, but on our whole holiday, which also included Oban, Loch Ness and the Cairngorms.

What a difference a day makes! We dined at Peet's twice during our stay in Lochinver. The first night was very good. My fish platter was lightly cooked and very tasty.

We cannot express how grateful we were that this excellent restaurant made room for us, despite being fully booked for the evening. The food was superior, as was the staff! We encourage anyone visiting the area to make reservations for a great dinner here!

We wanted to go here after reading reviews. Their website suggests pre-booking a table which I strongly recommend. We got in on a shared table but only because our host phoned on our behalf. It was a fabulous meal and we had a great evening chatting to two wonderful travellers from Colorado. It’s worth a visit if your in the area.

A great choice for food in Lochinver. We visited on our last night of our holiday and really enjoyed it. Every course was lovely and the staff were fantastic.

Hi wee stopped here for something to eat and wee both had the Peets seafood Platter well it was more salad than sea food 2 calamari 2 small prawns in batter and 2 haddock goujons which was the size of chicken nuggets and some fries in the middle very disappointed at £14.95.I come from a fishing town in the north east of Scotland and this is a disgrace that tourists have to pay this for bad quality of food wee went back to our B&B; and had something there as it didn’t fill us up THE SHACK IN ULLAPOOL BESIDE THE FERRY TERMINAL CAR PARK IS 100 TIMES BETTER

We didn't reserve a table so ate very early. I enjoyed the very fresh locally caught scallops which I recommend. The waitresses were very friendly and the restaurant is well-respected locally hence the need to book!

My girlfriend and I had an enjoyable meal here. We were treating warmly from the moment we arrived and this continued throughout. The restaurant was full and people were being turned away throughout our meal which didn't surprise me given the quality of the food and value we saw. Each course was well presented and the flavours backed this up. The seafood was full of flavour and fresh and served with garnishes and sides to match it well. The wine list isn't extensive but everything on it was well suited to something on the menu. Great restaurant.

I got into Lochinver pretty late and after a long drive was very hungry. I was lucky to get a table at Peets and it didn't disappoint! The staff were helpful and very friendly. My salmon was cooked beautifully and I left satisfied.

Having walked a long way down from our hotel we were very hungry . Peets didn’t disappoint . The young staff were brilliant - and the food was very tasty - especially the desert .

There are not too many places to eat around this lovely, remote area of Scotland, so make sure one of them is Peet's. Friendly service, good food with a selection of local produce, nice presentation - we had starters of smoked mackerel pate and langoustines, then a burger and fish and chips, no room for dessert! All dishes were very good - well worth the visit.

Our entire party had either the fish platter or the daily special fish platter (hot or cold). Everyone enjoyed it and I would definitely go back. Lovely ambience and good service.

Le restau du coin où mangent les touristes mais aussi les locaux. Excellente assiette du pêcheur avec plusieurs poissons différents, crabe, moule, langoustine. Nous avons aussi beaucoup aimé les beignets de calamar. Réservation conseillée.

I myself had the homemade pesto pasta with a side of garlic bread, and my friend had the lamb shank. What can I say! Absolutely gorgeous, the food was cooked to perfection and the service was great. I highly recommend a stop here!

This was my second time in Peet's after five years and we had three dinners there. The interior hasn't changed (which is good, as it is relaxing and spacious with modern touches). The food remains good with many options to choose from.

We enjoyed our meal at Peet's but have as many good as bad things to say. From a service point of view they can do with an experienced host as the team worked hard but missed cohesion. Service was good but missed the hospitality touches which most people have come to expect; check back if everything was ok, finger bowl or wipes for when eating langustines with your fingers and support for a colleagues who dropped something.

We all thought the seafood platter was the stand-out menu choice, and we all chose the large option with extra mussels and scallops. It was all well-prepared, and was an interesting selection including smoked mussels and a huge crab claw. There are a range of reliable choices on the menu for those that don't eat fish. A decent selection of wines, a good choice of cask and bottled beer, and a range of malt whiskies compliment the food well. We didn't have any room for deserts although they looked great. Highly recommended, make sure you book.

We enjoyed the mac & cheese and fried fish platter. The calamari rings were enormous! Food was good quality pub style. There aren’t many options for dinner in Lochinver so this is a good place to eat. Friendly and modern interiors. It was busy so book ahead.

Wow what a find. Try the chowder if it’s on, it’s quite a delight. Fantastic cheery service and fresh well cooked produce. We will certainly come back.

We called in as we were passing to check availability for that evening we were told we could have a table at 5.30 till 7.30 as they were fully booked after that which was perfect timing for us as we hadnt had any lunch. When we arrived we were promptly seated by Elaine and left to look at the menu after speaking to Elaine about her recommendations for starters we ordered . We were given a bowl of crisps with our drinks ( nice touch ) our starters arrived i had calamari and my husband had scallops both were cooked really well and enjoyed by both of us. During a lovely bottle of rioja we observed the running of the restaurant which was filling up ( especially with other guests from our hotel that were like us having to wait for rooms but that is another story ) Elaine is what makes this place she spots empty glasses empty plates and more often than not seemed to be the only staff member to hear when the kitchen rang their bell for service. The other staff were working ok but could learn alot from Elaine. Our mains arrived i had the lamb shank absolutely delicious and my husband had peets hot fish platter which he enjoyed washed down with another bottle of rioja. A lovely evening in a lovely place. And then off we went wobbling back up the lane to see if our room was ready which we finally got at about nine o clock.
