Stayed here over weekend for two nights and can't fault the place one bit. Not only is the hotel stunning and within a fantastic location, but the staff are amazing and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Check in was a breeze and was given access to our room in no time. The room itself was well maintained, clean and had everything we needed with an amazing view of the castle. We had breakfast with in the hotel and the service we received was perfect, staff were always on hand and nothing was too much trouble. Overall would highly recommend this location to anyone who was looking at staying.

The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh is a hotel located in a central location in the city, a short walk from Princes Street and many other attractions. The building is imposing and majestic, but the atmosphere remains relaxing and welcoming. My room was a bit small, but it was furnished in a minimalist and functional way, and it was clean and cozy. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. The staff was kind and professional.

A beautiful stay, with truly amazing staff. Princess the receptionist, incredible welcome and service. Hope to stay there again soon.

My visit to the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh....Where do I start? I love the perfect attention to detail from the moment you enter, the perfect castle view, and fantastic staff that make sure you are pampered and feel special every single moment you are there- even when you are out working or shopping. The atmosphere is full of history and the hotel has managed to preserve the beauty of the building and inject modern details, in the rooms, restaurants and the lovely spa. In spite of my being very busy during my visit, the staff made sure that I felt like I was on holiday instead of business. They are always helpful and ask if there is anything you need- and believe me- they really care. My room was wonderful and even had a yoga mat and block so I could make the most of my stay. The friendly housekeepers made sure that my room was dream like every day and every breakfast in Grazing by Mark Greenaway had me longing for more. In the evenings the gorgeous bar and restaurants offer both informal and formal elegant dining, so it was perfect for business meetings and also an opportunity to enjoy fabulous Scottish dishes. I could have stayed longer, and long for my next visit! I will be back :)

The room is clean and comfortable, and there are environmentally friendly options to choose from. The hotel location is also very convenient. The staff is friendly and polite. The breakfast selection is moderate, and I personally think it is sufficient and delicious. Will definitely come again👍

Worst menu in Scotland - basic food you can find at a local pub / unimaginative and completely outside the style of a 5* hotel - disgraceful

We had afternoon tea which was amazing . The savouries and cakes were excellent we all loved them. Iona served us along with Nitin , they both looked after us well and were so tentative. It felt very special and will definitely be back.

During my recent visit to the esteemed Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh on Friday the 22nd at 14:00, I had the unique opportunity to experience their Peacock Alley. Renowned for its elegance, I anticipated an equally refined service. Regrettably, my expectations were met with an intriguing encounter that merits sharing. Upon my arrival, keen to enjoy a coffee and a bite, I was greeted, or rather, not greeted by a hostess with a robust stature and short dark hair. She seemed perplexed at my lack of reservation, a reaction that was both amusing and slightly puzzling. Her grimace, presumably an attempt to convey inconvenience, added a touch of unexpected comedy to the situation. This initial exchange subtly hinted at a personal bias she might have harbored towards me. Her efforts to navigate around me, rather than guiding me to a table, were both comical and baffling. It's rare to witness someone so visibly challenged by the mere existence of a guest. This experience led me to ponder the importance of training in hospitality, particularly in an establishment of such repute. In conclusion, while the setting of Peacock Alley was as delightful as anticipated, the service provided an unexpected twist to my visit. It’s a gentle reminder that even in the most prestigious establishments, the human element can be both a source of charm and, occasionally, a curious spectacle.

We came for a drink or two before going for a meal and a show. However, it was comfy, relaxing and we were very well looked after (especially by Daniel), so we stayed and ate from the 'all day menu' which was excellent.

Afternoon tea as part of a spa package. We arrived early as our spa services were done. We were seated but told that the server might not be available for a while. Service was exceptionally slow. Sandwiches were just ok but deserts were top notch. Unfortunately, the afternoon tea did not seem like anything special.

The Festive Afternoon Tea was a mixed experience but thoroughly enjoyed! The sandwiches were fairly average for the price point but the pastries were just on another level!! I personally feel that being charged for a small bottle of water when you are paying a premium to start with for an Afternoon Tea experience is slightly uncalled for! We did receive an apology for a long delay in delivering our pastries but as a five star establishment with pre booked customers I feel they should have coped better with the high demand but the quality of the pastries did soften the blow somewhat!! One thing that I found disappointing but I didn't complain about (I probably should have said something) was that we only received three scones (one and a half each) but I am sure that we should have received four (two each)!! Our Waitress Melony was very friendly and welcoming and thoroughly deserved the tip that I provided her on top of the 12.5% service charge!!!

Well, what a shame. We arrived at got a somewhat friendly greeting but it seemed like we were more of a bother than anything else. We were then seated in the bar/lounge area where there were people but it wasn't full. We then sat and waited while nobody paid us any attention whatsoever. They definitely were not short staffed as there were many staff buzzing about and attending other tables - or stood chatting to oine another. In fact, the table just beside us had a waitress attend their table 4 or 5 times while making eye contact with us, yet never coming over despite us clearly waiting to order. We in fact wondered if she knew them as she repeatedly served them yet did not bother to attend our table. Staff kept walking past but not once was a single word spoken to us. For such an expensive and highly rated hotel I would definitely expect much better service, even if staff are busy to say a word passing by to acknowledge us waiting. After 25 minutes of waiting to order a rather high priced drink, yet not a glimpse of customer service, we decided to leave... where again not even the acknowledgment of our departure took place. Considering just a few weeks ago I had such a contrary experience in their partnering Dean Banks restaurant I would avoid bothering to go near this side of the hotel again.

This Christmas afternoon tea was a amazing and made our trip to Edinburgh magical. A Christmas treat for my Mum thoroughly enjoyed. We had amazing friendly service from all staff but in particular our lovely server Iona. It was so nice to have a range of unlimited hot drinks to choose from included and offered regularly throughout our 2hrs dining experience. The afternoon tea could see had undergone so much effort, every fine detail and so much flavour. The desserts really made the festive theme from Christmas trees to baubles and every mouthful tasted of Christmas. Can't wait to return for more themed experiences. Thankyou :-)

Enjoyed a fabulous Aladdin-themed afternoon tea!! My guest was impressed with the place as it was her first time walking into the hotel and the Christmas decorations were a considerable plus to woo her! The food was amazing! We had to ask for a takeaway box for the cakes, because the sandwiches were deliciously filling. The best was definitely the aubergine ciabatta, it kinda reminded me of a particular dish that my mum makes. Very very happy with the service too. Loved the pampering from our special hostess, Steffi, and the knowledge she showed while describing the dishes. I had no doubt I would receive such outstanding service when I walked in to the lounge, but my guest was pleasantly taken aback by the friendliness. Highly recommended!! Can’t wait to see what kind of new menus they will cater next!!

I was taken to Peacock Alley for afternoon tea as birthday treat. The staff, Nico, Atlanta and Lucasz were very attentive and explained the menu beautifully. The food and the teas were outstanding with a variety of unusual teas served very professionally.

My mum booked us afternoon tea to celebrate my daughter‘s 10th birthday. We had the warmest reception from the charming doorman, who immediately recognised that it was a special occasion and made sure that a fuss was made of my daughter. Our waitress was the most competent, considerate, charming waitress that we’ve ever had. We all were blown away by the afternoon tea. Such a special occasion, made extra special by the lovely staff here.

We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend, and visited the bar several times.Service is incredible, efficient and friendly. Nothing feels like too much or an inconvenience. The drinks are lovely, especially the cocktails.We also booked in for afternoon tea. This was amazing, definitely an experience I’ll never forget. The food was stunning, and the venue is gorgeous, I really recommend treating yourself to this if you’re in the area. Lovely place and I’ll definitely visit again.

The whole experience was magical. The decor, the harp. It felt like Christmas in "New York"We was waited on by Iona, she was soo accommodating., approachable and genuine.We had dietary requirements, Vegan & Vegetarian. Everything was accommodated for us, our dietary requirements did not make us feel excluded. Highly recommended and we will be back!

Our afternoon tea was set in the beautiful backdrop of peacock alley. A harpist playing Christmas songs was an absolute bonus. The food was excellent and it was equally matched by the superb service delivered by Melony. An overall faultless experience.

I booked a table for drinks in Peacock Alley as part of my Son's graduation celebrations, when booking I mentioned the occasion was a graduation but thought nothing more of that. The service was outstanding, staff were so attentive. My Son was not only congratulated by staff he was presented with a decorative Congratulations plate with chocolates and fruit. This made our visit even more special and one of the day's highlights. Thank you so much. We also took some great photos beside the stunning Christmas tree and staircase.

We had a great time at the peacock alley for an afternoon drink and snack! The decoration and atmosphere was sublime and our waiter Lukas was very attentive, service-minded and brought smiles to our faces. I really enjoyed the whole experience!

We'd booked a Festive Afternoon Tea at Peacock Alley.The decor was lovely, the food very tasty, the teas interesting... but... staff take orders verbally without a note pad so we had a couple of minor errors early on. A tea instead of a coffee, and they brought the wrong number of cocktails to the table.And they *think* what happened next was that somebody saw the dairy free cake servings plated up and thought the cream had been missed off so put on pots of cream without checking.We asked the server - "is that really dairy free clotted cream? We didn't know that existed." and were assured it was. Fortunately my son asked where they got it from and the server went to ask the chef... so next thing was a flurry of panic from managers because it wasn't dairy free and we'd already eaten some...So I'm guessing the kitchen doesn't have a procedure for handling allergy orders separately, or a way of labelling them so staff know, or a separate area to put them in.

We went for afternoon tea today, including a 5yr old, Lauren looked after us very well.There was a harpist which enhanced the already good atmosphere , the food was lovely . Even the boxes to bring left overs home were excellent!! All in all a good time ,

Such a great experience! This place is just stunning, decorations are lovely and service has been outstanding. Me and my friends had a couple of cocktails and thanks to Chris we enjoyed some perfect espresso martini. Also Łukasz made us feel very welcome and well looked after. What a wonderful place, for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or just a drink I recommend. We have been many times for all of the above. The service is exceptional, you are guaranteed to have a perfect experience. The food is also just perfect and the ambiance stunning. My favourite experience has to be the cocktails, signature cocktails and they are just delicious! Lucasz, Atlanta, Christopher and Matthew all exceptional and a credit to this glorious hotel. My Nana was guided in in classic style by the doorman, was greeted by the magnificent decor within and seated at a nice little both ready to go for afternoon tea.Lauren and the team were great as always at catering for the group and delivering exceptional food and service.

The food was beautiful to look at and delicious to taste. There was a lady playing the harp live in front of us which added even more class to the wonderful experience. Service by Lauren was great and the lady at the entrance was very kind to us even though we were a bit late. They accommodated my requirements as a pescatarian without any loss in quality.

Went here for a high tea with 5 friends who were visiting from out of town. Food was good and plenty of it, definitely for those with a sweet tooth! Its aiming to be a posh high tea experience and in short my summary would be: What was great? Our waitress Iona, the music and relaxed mood, the quantity of foodWhat could have been better? We arrived early and they didn’t know what to do with us, had to sit in a weird corridor, couldn’t they have sent us to a bar area? And the proportion of savoury to sweet is strange. The bread was also like a normal white bread sandwich, i expected something more special in the way of food.

Great food and lovely service. The afternoon tea was a great finish after having some spa treatments. The staff were really friendly and the food was exceptional.

A family group of 11 of us celebrated my mother's 95th birthday here. It was a wonderful occasion, with fantastic service, particularly from our main server Iona, who went out of her way to ensure we all had the best experience possible. The food was beautifully presented, the patisserie very artistic and all tasted delicious. It was particularly good to get equally tasty and attractive-looking vegetarian options for the 2 vegetarians present. The surroundings are lovely too. I would not hesitate to heartily recommend anyone coming here, particularly for a special occasion - they brought my mother a special birthday plate with a message in chocolate and a selection of chocolates and fruit.

We booked for the afternoon tea after a spa package. It is without a doubt the prettiest afternoon tea we have ever had! The desert concoctions are a work of art. The servers, Melony and Lauren, made the experience exceptional. The different tea recommendations to pair with the food was second to none. It was a truly wonderful experience.

The Afternoon Tea at the Peacock Alley in the Edinburgh Waldorf Astoria has to be the best ever for us! Beautiful setting, superb food and excellent service.

First of all the decor is very spectacular, the old train station, with very nice atmosphere and even harpist during the weekend. The service has been perfect from the moment we enter the hotel, with very dedicated and careful staff members. Iona and Lukasz have been taking care of us and they have been absolutely fantastic. We even saw the performance of the sabrage, very impressive and entertaining !

I booked an afternoon tea for a belated 65th birthday treat for my sister who was visiting from London after the lockdowns. We hadn’t seen each other for 20 months so it was a special weekend.I made an email request to change two of the sandwich filling from fish to egg mayonnaise and/or cheese and pickle. Simple you would think for a 5 star hotel! Clearly not. I had no response to my email, sent two weeks before our booking, so had to call for confirmation that the request had been received. It had. I confirmed on arrival that my request was still ok. It was.We did not get the requested sandwiches. Instead we got a small, stale piece of bread with a coronation fruit mixture and another with some pickled peppers and a chickpea! The cakes were delicious though. Everyone around us were being served lovely platters of sandwiches! I mentioned to the waitress and her response was a pathetic ‘oh, sorry’ as she walked away! As it was a special treat for my sister I didn’t want to make a fuss so I emailed them a couple of days later, then again a week later, then again a few days later……. No reply!Eventually, after logging a complaint on the main Hilton Group site someone finally got in touch. They very kindly offered us a complimentary afternoon tea for 2. That was way more than I expected so all good.I used the complimentary offer with my daughters. Sadly, exactly the same thing happened. After highlighting the issue again they eventually changed the stale bread and managed to provide beautiful alternatives so why could they not do that in the first place. My issues this time was terrible alternatives provided initially and also that they brought us the bill without us asking for it. We had planned on staying for another coffee then a few cocktails/wines. I ordered a coffee and was asked if I would like it in a take away cup!The waitress was very offhand and rude. She also did the hotel out of a few alcohol sales as we felt so uncomfortable, we decided to leave. We had dirty plates, glasses and tea/coffee pots on our table for over 30 minutes while staff walked past us or stood chatting at the bar. We waited 20 minutes for drinks that sat on the bar for 15 minutes while staff chatted. My daughter ordered a vodka and never got it. I raised my concerns at the desk on the way out and was promised a call from the manager. I am still waiting two and a half weeks later. I have emailed them in that two weeks and still no response. Nothing angers me more than terrible customer service and promising something but not delivering hence a review on here!This is a top Edinburgh hotel charging top prices but delivering substandard service in many areas. We felt rushed, unwanted and very uncomfortable.

The afternoon tea was exquisite with a great selection of savoury items as well as lots of delicious cakes and the cocktails were a lovely added extra. Special thanks to Iona and Lauren for their excellent customer service and for looking after us so well, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back.

Lovely setting, terrible service.Having visited here before, we gave it a second chance as we had a spare hour prior to dinner. We arrived and had to wait for some 5 minutes before someone came to seat us, they were all busy talking at the bar. There were almost as many staff as visitors, around 8 , yet the service was nothing short of terrible. Certainly not somewhere to go if you appreciate good service.

Went here for afternoon tea for a 50th and 60th birthday celebration in the group we were travelling with. What a delightful experience!The atmosphere was lovely, elegant, calm and beautiful surroundings . The food was lovely, savouries served first, then the cakes arrived – wow! Beautifully presented and lots to eat. The tea came in fresh, hot pots and we were invited to try as many varieties as we pleased!Maria, the waitress, was amazing, charming, organised and made it feel a truly special experience. Well done to the Waldorf Astoria team, we will definitely be back.

I don’t often write reviews but I was so impressed with the fantastic service we had from Iona at Peacock Alley I felt I wanted to share it. She negotiated our myriad of dietary requirements with such diligence all while being friendly, funny and attentive. We were celebrating that two of us were due to have babies in a few weeks and she made sure we were comfortable, offered to take photos and really helped make it a special occasion. The food and tea were delicious, which alone would be worth a return visit, but the service set it apart and meant it’s somewhere I would highly recommend to others.

We had a lovey time all the staff her were very friendly and accommodating as I have a fish allergy and this was well catered for. Our designated staff team member was Iona and she was very engaging and helpful and it was a delight to be served by her.

Went here for a few drinks before heading out. The surroundings are stunning and it's a place that just makes you feel automatically at ease. Atlanta and Matt, were both absolutely great, very friendly and made us some amazing cocktails. I would highly recommend visiting here, if you are looking for somewhere luxurious too enjoy a few cocktails with friends.

My wife, daughter and I are visiting Edinburgh for the first time. We ate at the Waldorf at Peacock Alley and had a wonderful meal. Sabelle provided us with special care, with great service and plenty of information about Edinburgh and activities to do. The extra mile of service they gave us with the chocolate martini will be remembered!!!!

We arrived in the middle of a downpour, were kindly ushered in by the lovely doorman and then concierge. Our waiter was friendly but very competent and the floor manager was also wonderful. The cocktails were lush and looked exquisite. The complementary nibbles of good quality olives and little rice snacks were a nice touch.We would definitely return. The cocktails were maybe a couple of pounds more than some other places but the ambience, service and surroundings were more than worth it. It felt like a special experience.

I visited peacock alley with my sister for afternoon tea as they had vegan options which cater to my allergies. I called in advance to book and Matthew was friendly and helpful over the phone. We were warmly welcomed by the host and got a comfy booth, everything clean and nicely decorated.There were impressive selection of unlimited hot drinks on offer and you can also change drinks if you wanted to try something different. My sister had the regular "tropical" afternoon tea and I had the vegan one with an nut allergy also. First we were served with the savoury plate, my favourite was the coronation chick pea. Next we were served with the sweets and my favourites were the mango coconut cheesecake and kiwi lime yogurt gateau.The atmosphere was lovely with a live harpist playing in the background. Service was efficient and prompt. We did feel a little rushed, our food was served 1.30pm. At 2.30pm, our waitress said that there was a booking at 3.30pm. I said thats fine, plenty of time. At 2.50pm, the same waiter said in a certain tone "Just to let you know, it's 2.50pm.. are you almost done, can I get you a takeout box?" I thought hey, you dont to count the clock down for Mr. Fair enough if it was like 3.15pm then we should be getting a move on. Even though the service is general was okay, there wasn't much chat from her and I made most of the effort to engage a conversation. We didn't get offered an option for upgrade to champagne or cocktails afternoon tea, we overheard it from another table. This was the most disappointing part of the experience, the rest of the afternoon tea was enjoyable.

We recently had afternoon tea here as well as evening drinks whilst staying at The Caledonian. The afternoon tea was wonderful. They are currently doing a Tropical version which included a great selection of both savoury and sweet treats.Above all, try the Edinburgh Rose cocktail, it's amazing!

Keziah met us on arrival and was friendly and so professional, led us to our table which was spacious, and the main room was light and airy . Lauren made sure we were comfortable, explained the afternoon set up , acknowledged our dietary requirements and was attentive with water and drinks for the rest of our afternoon. Our afternoon was rounded off with special birthday chocolates beautifully presented . Just before we left we listened to Lauren explain the sabrage and we witnessed Iona perform with a sabre to open the bottle of champagne . Very impressive . Iona spoke to us about her “trick” and chatted to us about the hotel. Excellent service all round and we will return in November for a pre Christmas catch up !

Myself and my family spent the evening in peacock alley. Special thanks to Lukasz who had organised a table suitable for our party of 13 to celebrate a special birthday together. We had wonderful service from Alex, Iona and Matthew K and enjoyed many fantastic drinks. Thank you all, the Glennie family

We had a beautiful champagne afternoon tea in Peacock Alley as a belated birthday present. The staff, in particular Melony, were attentive and friendly and the food was spectacular. The setting was stunning with plenty of natural light. We couldn’t fault it and look forward to coming back!

Lovely Isla in the Peacock Lounge really made our stay at the Waldorf special. Her level of customer service was better than perfect. She was attentive without being overly so and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable from the first evening when we stopped in for drinks to afternoon teatime. I really enjoyed watching her doing the Sabrage at the champagne tea. The food was all delicious and beautifully presented too. Unfortunately my daughter was ill and was very disappointed not to make it, septa’s we had booked for her to try sabrage that day. When she did come and join me, Isla made sure she was comfortable and had something light to eat even though she had missed tea.

Our previous visit to Peacock Alley in 2019 was so enjoyable that we knew if we ever returned to Edinburgh, we would want to visit here again. As last time, the quality of food and drinks was exceptional and we loved the beautiful room. It was such a shame that, compared to our last visit where the customer service was outstanding, this time it was noticeably different. We asked if there was a table and were told no before being patronisingly reminded by a young lady with a smirk that “this is a Saturday”. We did eventually get served and given that there was a wedding we were constantly told that things were not available. In fairness to the front of house staff, this was obviously the fault of the management who should have been well prepared in advance for trying to balance a wedding with other guests. I did feel sorry for two of the front of house staff who were subject to a very cross lady who wasn’t happy about the lack of tables or available drinks due to this wedding, and whilst I thought her tone was completely unnecessary, I agreed with what she was saying and I felt as non wedding customers that we were treated as a bit of a nuisance. It would not take much for Peacock Alley to return to the standard we experienced in 2019; all it would take is better customer service and organisation from the management. We would return due to the continuing high standard of food and drinks and beautiful location but would hope that next time we were treated better. Special mention to Atlanta (we saw the name on the bill so we hope this is the right person) who, despite there not being what I asked for available, made another recommendation which I thoroughly enjoyed. She handled what I can only imagine was probably a difficult shift admirably and her good attitude made us want to stay as the way we had been spoken to by the other employee had almost made us walk out and find somewhere else.

We had a fabulous afternoon tea and one of the best to date. The ambience of the venue was perfect and the first class service from our waitress was also friendly and efficient. The quality of the food was outstanding. An added bonus was the sabrage demonstration and added to the overall experience.

We treated ourselves to afternoon tea while we were in Edinburgh, it was perfect. Food and service were faultless, our waitress was attentive and brought us champagne as it was our anniversary which was so special. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious, we were full for the rest of the day!

We came back here for a night out with friends, it's really nice to see that the place have not change its 5 star service after the reopening. One thing that is changed is the menu, my wife really enjoyed the salad (thanks to Lukasz for the recommendation!).The atmosphere is as always very welcoming. All in all, a great place to spend some time with friends or family and relax.

Treated exceptionally from the moment you step into the hotel.You are guided through to the tea rooms and this is where Gintare talked us through how the afternoon tea would follow. She was so attentive as were all the staff, she gave us some tea to take away and we spoke to her about all types of things, including travel and language. Our two girls loved the experience as they were treated like adults and when we had champagne the staff brought them little non alcoholic bellinis.Our girls didn’t want the kids menu and so they suggested we had three adult menus between us which worked out perfectly.Do it, you won’t regret it. A wonderful experience. Our young girls enjoyed it equally. Thank you to all the staff!

Fantastic afternoon tea in a beautiful location. We were served by Miriea and she could not do enough for us. We were all quite difficult with what we had requested for our sandwiches, but Miriea had no problems with this and went out of her way to ensure we were happy with what we got. The food is amazing - so much cake to get through! We were in the restaurant for almost 4 hours and not once did we feel rushed or pushed out. The sabrage at 3pm is good fun and the woman who done it took her time to come over and answer our questions. One of the best afternoon teas I’ve had in an upmarket but relaxed setting. Go! You won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful location, the decor is almost magical. We were at The Waldorf for 3 nights for a mini-honeymoon and made it into Peacock Alley every day to enjoy the wonderful scenery. We were given the gift of an Afternoon Tea with some champagne and it was so wonderful. Gintare was so kind and informative, truly a star of a staff member. We also had the chance to try a few(maybe too many) cocktails! All brilliantly smooth and well worth the price. A wonderful gentleman was serving us too but I'm afraid he was quite busy so I didnt catch his name!Breakfast every morning was amazing if not a bit much, if I could have picked to not be given the tower of food and just have a hot meal instead I would have much prefered that.Overall a perfect experience, would gladly return. 10/10

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Waldorf, and as such, we were frequent visitors to Peacock Alley. We were well looked after by very friendly and attentive staff, particularly Gintare, who did her best to make us feel welcome and looked after during both breakfast and afternoon tea.Breakfast was exceptional. One of the best I've had in a hotel. There was an impressive selection of meats, pastries and cheeses, with the option to also have a cooked breakfast at your table. The food was all very good.Afternoon tea was also great (we went with the champagne option). I must say that it's not for those with small appetites, as there is a lot of food to workthroigh - all of it presented beautifully. The teas themselves were very good as well, with lots of options to choose from, some of them quite unique.The atmosphere in here is great too. It's classy, but relaxed, and the background piano music is nice. The drinks served are very good.Overall, I highly recommend Peacock Alley.

Absolutely impeccable, I can’t recommend enough. We were helped by Gintarė and Scott, and they were an absolute pleasure. The tea recommendations were invaluable, and her conversation was a pleasure.To begin with, a few hours before our reservation we got a call asking about dietary restrictions, giving us the ability to disclose the 3 pescatarians and 1 vegan dietary restrictions.On arrival, the restaurant was beautiful. We were given a large table with plenty of room.The first course was the finger sandwiches, mine vegan and the rest of the family’s pescatarian. Absolutely delicious!Next we’re the scones and pastries, and I am absolutely blown away!! Everything tasted amazing. I felt so catered to with my vegan diet. We got 3 different teas each, and each tasted so unique and amazing. I cannot recommend this afternoon tea experience enough! Yes it’s a bit of a splurge, but worth every single penny spent!Thank you Gintarė, Scott, and team, absolutely incredible experience!!

Excellent afternoon tea! Relaxed atmosphere - attentive staff - lots of food but doggy bag provided. It would be good if some more information was provided about the history of the building.

Came with my daughter for afternoon tea in August , everything was spectacular! There were large selections of teas to choose from and our server Iona recommended the fruity cloud catcher tea; must try! Also a special thanks to Alex and Scott, our other servers, they checked up on us regularly and tended to our requests. I definitely will be back!

Incredible venue for relaxing drinks. The building is stunning and the drinks excellent. But the staff are the most impressive of all. Nobody could do enough for us and our glasses and plates were constantly refilled. Sabelle our bar person was excellent and we would visit again in a heartbeat.

Top class as always greeted by the one and only Lukasz.He remembered what I used to drink from 3 years ago. Always a pleaser to see us and always with a smile.It has become our tradition that when my sister comes over to scotland we have a drink at peacock alley. Great job with the referbishment it looks stunning.

Had afternoon tea here to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday and it was lovely. The service was great by Melony who looked after us and the cakes were exquisite both to look at and eat.

We came here for a nice weekend away and our afternoon tea was a highlight of the stay. Our waitress Iona was very attentive, helpful and gave us great information regarding the city. The sabrage provided great entertainment and the food was lovely. We were serenaded by a harpist which made for a truly magical experience. It really made you feel like saying ‘I’m King’

We both loved our visit for Afternoon Tea to celebrate my husband’s birthday next day - early celebration. We asked for no onion of any kind or garlic in sandwiches and were catered for. Large selection of teas to choose from and Melony gave us information and suggestions to help us choose. She was attentive to our needs and regularly checked to see if anything needed. The sweet stand has a large selection too. We couldn’t cope and came home with a ‘doggy’ bag. That in itself is amazing as looks like a coal scuttle which Iona suggested was from days of Waldorf being a railway station. Iona took over from Melony and was as attentive and friendly. Highly recommend and the ambience is relaxing. Beautiful venue and tables spaced far enough apart to provide privacy.

Came here for afternoon tea, staff were accommodating to our dietary requirements and all food and drinks were exquisite. Our waitresses Iona and Alex were fabulous at tending to our requests and ensured we were always happy and well fed and hydrated. Would highly recommend.

We have visited the peacock alley at least a dozen times and it is just wonderful. The drinks are exceptional (ask for Lucas (the manager) to set you up with a Negroni) you wont regret it. It is also peaceful and beautiful here. From time to time, they have string quartets, harpists and pianists, which are all extremely talented. 10 out of 10 all round.

A great space for celebratory drinks. We booked on trip advisor and were welcomed with a complementary glass of champagne. We then proceeded to have two cocktails each which were lovely.The only downside was the unexpected 10% service charge, however the service was spotless.

Friend & I had a wonderful champagne afternoon tea on Saturday 7th August in beautiful surroundings.We were treated like royalty before we even got into the building where we were greeted by 2 very entertaining gentlemen who then showed us to the reception of Peacock Alley, where again we were warmly welcomed & shown to our table.Our waitress, Lauren, was extremely attentive and knowledgeable but not intrusive.The food was delicious as was the champagne! We were treated to as many cups of coffee we required and this was all included in the initial price,(not all venues are as generous).Altogether a wonderful experience in beautiful surroundings enhanced by the attentive service from all staff but especially to the friendly but professional Lauren.This is the place to go for afternoon tea in Edinburgh.

We visited Peacock Alley for an extra special family get together and it proved to be the ideal location. Staff were SO considerate and lovely; they helped to make the day perfect. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had a truly memorable day and the hotel played a big part in this. Thank you to everyone: in particular Melanie, Maria (spellings correct I hope), the restaurant manager who kindly took photos for us; and the lovely door men too.
