Pavillion Fish Kitchen in Sutton

Latest order was really poor. Fish wasn’t crunchy and wasn’t as nice as usual. Chips were old and tasted like cardboard. Has become poor value for money.

I returned a couple of weeks ago from a visit to London, and one of the places I had the pleasure of eating at is Pavillion Fish Kitchen. My friends live in the neighborhood, and one night I was dying for fish and chips. I was thrilled with Pavillion. Although they specialize in fish and chips, they have a number of other choices available. I, of course, opted for fish and chips along with one of my friends (my other friend ordered chicken and chips); the portion of fish was huge and absolutely delicious (and so were the chips). Price very reasonable, too. The service was great as well; efficient and very friendly!! Looking forward to a return visit in Spring 2023.

Great food here, we had cod and haddock which were excellent. Really good chips as well Service however very slow & poor.

After waiting 3 months because of lockdown we visited our favourite fish and chip shop,although did have take away a month ago its so much nicer sitting in and eating steaming hot food served to you, they never fail....we've missed you!!!

Sat 16th/may had the biggest and best 2 pieces f Skate ever ordered for I oclock on the phone ready dead on time.

Ordered fish and chips last night via Deliveroo and it arrived in good time and was pipping hot! They separated out the fish from the chips so they didn’t get soggy! So pleased Pavillion is back up and running during these difficult times. Thank you all at Pavillion, stay safe you local heroes!

Once again amazing fish and chips , mistakenly tried another chip shop days earlier which was nearer!.. not happening again though, always piping hot, well done pavillion.. and apologies for defecting ,it wont happen again!!

Food, service, prices, deco! It has it all!! They let me order a kids size without making me feel awkward because I’d rather add a couple of sides. I travel 5 miles to go to this fish and chip shop, never let us down. It’s always fresh, cooked to perfection and Hot!! Only downside is that we can’t go anywhere else to get fish and chips now because everywhere else is a disappointment !!

Nice fish and chips restaurant offering a few other options. Fish was a little small but meal was well cooked and presented, if a little overpriced.

Cod and chips takeaway. The fish batter was completely soggy and was a total mess. I didn’t add vinegar so there is no final reason for it to be wet. The chips were fine, but let’s face it you go for the fish! These jokers also still only take cash despite living in 2020 where only 22% of all transactions are in cash. Nice way to inconvenience your customers. Be warned they also only cook to order so you can expect a wait. Won’t be going back!

Even though we like trying different cuisines and restaurants, no other fish and chip shop seems to come close!, I tried the rock for a change and now I'm torn between my favourite being cod! We sat in as usual, friendly service and the food was steaming hot and we didnt wait long at all, highly recommended 5*

Poped in after a horendous train journey and waited patiently for chips and a savaloy. Cannot believe card payments are not accepted!!!! Come on! Food good' service for takeout on this experience was spot on.

Ordered Cod with chips along with curry sauce. Fish was perfectly fried and not too much oily. Restaurant itself was clean with prompt service. Recommend

We’ve visited the pavilion couple times. We had our fish and chips with a glass of wine this time and we’ve got to say scrumptious as always.

I came here with my family after a busy afternoon, and this place is great for an evening meal. The cod was delicious and the service was excellent! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

First time there, clearly also the last time as well. Very bad services, could not pay by card and the food was not that good either.

Love this Fish n Chip Shop. The foods always fresh, not dripping in grease and the restaurant is modern and clean. I've had LOADS of take aways and NEVER a complaint.

You can’t go wrong if you want delicious fish and chips( and pies and scampi and other normal fish and chip shop food) and a friendly welcome. You may have to wait but that’s because it all freshly cooked; there are seats available to sit while you wait. The portions are very generous and the chips are the best ever; highly recommended ( and no, I don’t work for them..)

Amazing food (especially the fish!). It won't cost you much more than what you would spend at a fast food restaurant but this is certainly not fast food. Really recommend it. Very good customer service as well. My girlfriend and I have gone already a few times to get food for takeaway and have always had a gratifying experience.

We had take away cod and chips. Large portion of cod, lovely batter and fresh chips. It was served in a box, which meant that it was not too greasy. Very tasty and will be back!

Lovely fish and chips I enjoyed with my family. Staff are so friendly , they made me feel so welcome. Does get busy but they make the food as fast as they can which is amazing!

First time i been in pavilion and food was great.i had haddock and chips and glass of wine ,food was excellent crispy not oily at all that impressed me a lot ,and also staff was so friendly we had a really good time there .hopefully i will be back next week with my family thanks guy!super

I’ve been to the shop few times,on every visit I enjoy my fish and chips. The fish is excellent, crispy and lightly battered with a generous portion of chips. I’d give 10 out of 10. Keep up the good work guys!

You always wait a long time but because the manager couldn't see me she gave others who had come later their food first. I pointed this out and just very rude. Asked for mgr and said she was the manager so no excuse whatsoever. Wouldn't give them custom

Enjoyed one of the nicest pieces of rock salmon I have had in a long time. Clean eating area; attentive service and a nice bottle of wine despite a limited range. Worth a visit!

Front of house is clean and staff are cheerful. We bought a wide range of items and all of it was good hot tasty chip shop food.

We have not visited the Pavillion Fish Kitchen for some time but were glad we did so again. The same staff remain friendly, efficient and chatty; nothing is too much trouble. All food is cooked to order, so expect a wait of around 15-minutes from ordering. Pies, sausages, spring rolls etc.are also available as is beer and wine.

Probably some of the yummiest fish n chips I’ve ever had. A little pricier than your usual chippy but the portions are large (seriously huge chips portions) and it’ll leave you satisfied. It takes a little time because it’s all made to order and usually considerably busy so if you’re picking up, I suggest phoning in. Can take up to 20 mins

I'm fairly fussy with my fish and chips. I have found that getting quality, fresh fish at a decent price is pretty hard in and around London.

Excellent fish and chips.the service is quick and staff are lovely. Also there is a range of options and varied dishes like burgers,chicken and seafood. I’ll definitely come back.

Fresh cooked every time. Light crisp batter and delicious fish. Simply the best Fish & Shop around. Beat the Q's by telephone ordering. Friendly staff but CASH only. There is a restaurant section but i have not used it.

Busy! Expect to q! That aside it's not a bad indication that the fish and chips are good! Well worth the wait and served by friendly staff. The family enjoyed our Friday night takeaway and would highly recommend! Note they only take cash for takeaways!

Just tried the fish (COD) and chips with prawns on the side had this as a take away the best we have had . The restaurant was clean and very inviting the staff friendly and cheerful dispite being very busy ,as one would expect on good Friday .would definitely recommend this fish shop and will be eating there again

We visited as a family of 5 for a quick lunch over half term. Wow! We were so impressed. Genuinely the best fish and chips we've had in a very long time. The batter is amazing and everything was so fresh. The staff who run the restaurant are so friendly and were wonderful with the kids. We have eaten at quite a few fish and chip restaurants along the coast and I can honestly say that our meal here was better. Would highly recommend a visit!

Every time we go, which is a lot more now that the new owners have made it so good, the fish is huge, the chips are really fresh and the service is always great and friendly.... if you want to have the best Fish & Chips in the area, this is the place to go.

Having just driven 4.5 hours from Cornwall and being 1 mile from our destination we needed food so stopped here on spec. We were not disappointed! The fush and chips were excellent. Lovely batter. Nice chips. 2nd best fish and chips I've ever had. Only just beaten by Rick Steins at Padstow as his chips are nicer.

The best we've ever tasted. Their batter is divine. Nice choice of starters, very hot tea and coffee, with excellent service. What more van you want from a local chippy?

If you want an upmarket fish and chip shop that isn't over priced and delivers really tasty food, you won't go wrong here.

Have been here on a couple of occasions and have never been disappointed. Excellent meal, with a good choice of fish and other items. Staff were always attentive. A traditional English meal at a reasonable price.

Been here several times and both as a takeaway and eat in the staff are excellent, friendly and accommodating, prices are good, portions are generous and food quality is always really good. We find ourselves looking for excuses to visit. :)

We visited Pavilion shortly after it reopened at the beginning of the year. It was the best fish and chips we'd had in so many years and by far the best experience I've had in London. Only negative was that they weren't accepting card payments at the time, not sure if this has changed since. Will definitely be returning though. Keep up the good work!

I had a great experience I do visit this place very often my wife doesn't know I eat here & go to home after work :)) I like those lads they look after me every single time just pop in & get those experience

A great vibe from the moment you walk in. We were greeted with smiles from the chef and waiting staff, followed by "are you eating in, or take away?" The lighting and restaurant area was clean and with a Mediterranean feel to it. Music was playing with a volume to allow conversation, but to also enjoy the choice of tracks. The waiting area was also clean with a good seating area and magazines and newspapers for those who would like to read while waiting for the freshly cooked food. We then chose a table and our waitress/partner of the chef, greeted us with the customary, "can I get you drinks while you choose your food?" When the food arrived, the fish was cooked in a lightly crisp batter which did not spoil the firm white fish, but added to the eating experience. The chips were plentiful and nice chunky golden fried, without any sogginess! This was our second visit within the month and both times were equally enjoyable! This will be our regular fish restaurant for the foreseeable future. Well done guys, you have gained a new family to your lovely family feel restaurant!

My boyfriend brought me here last Friday, Initially I was quite annoyed as I had a romantic candle lit dinner at the Italian up the road in mind but I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was so fresh and the chips hand cut. We also shared a lovely bottle of Merlot. Needless to say we will be back again. Well priced and efficient service.

This was our first meal at this restaurant since it was refurbished. The decor was quality and tasteful, the staff efficient, helpful and polite and the food was magnificent.

Stopped off because of how lovely the design looked, I had cod&chips; my friend had scampi&salad; and we both absolutely loved it! Even though there was at least 3 other tables full and a little queue for take away the food was still served at a good Time! Staff were lovely welcoming and polite. Will defiantly be returning again soon.... If you're wanting a good meal with nice staff at a good price then this is the place to be

Arriving home late on Friday night and wondering what to have for dinner we decided to try Pavillion Fish & Chips and we weren't disappointed.

Found it quite expensive since they refurbished it. Food was good but all the same overpriced for what is just fish & chips on a Friday night.

Can't speak for the reviews that covered the alleged 'supermarket scampi and calamari' as I haven't tried either item, but the lunchtime fish and chips deal is excellent. Had it 3 times now and on each occasion the fish was beautifully white (the only minor gripe is that the batter could perhaps be a tad crispier) and the chips were superb. Comes with bread and butter and a drink for £7-50, and represents great value. Staff really friendly as well. Hope they can keep it up

Food is great! Huge portions, fresh fish, lovely curry sauce and pickled eggs, and very happy we only live 5 minutes walk away. A perfect Saturday night treat!

People who have rated this highly must eat garbage at home to say this is good quality. It's not fresh. The calamari and scampi are out of a packet from the frozen section at the supermarket when you took a bite it was all batter and very little fish it was also bland and good quality is not bland. The chips where freshly cooked and still they were terrible. The batter on the freshly cooked haddock was soft and soggy. Sorry to say it because the restaurant is very nice for a chippie but the food is awful and that's why counts. Polish people doing fish n chips does not work when they cut corners and buy cheap produce to turn more profit. Unfortunately would not go back if the food was free which is sad as me and my wife were looking forward to going.

Having tried a lot of the other fish n chip places around the kingston area i was curious when driving through worcester park to see pavillion opened up on the corner.

I've been into this restaurant last week and they've served great fish and chips. I would really recommend to others who pass Worcester Park. And also restaurant was very clean as well.

Wonderful fish and chips, shame you get told to leave at 9.30 when they close on a Saturday night!! Cod, chips, gherkins, pickled onion, bread and butter all fresh, plus lovely glass of Pinot. Would go again but when it shuts at 10.30.

Called in for a take-away last night - very good. The waiting area is very clean as is the restaurant park. There are newspapers to read while you are waiting for your order to be cooked. Ordered the Haddock and it was cooked fresh, with a wait of about 10-minutes. Good portion size and the staff are very friendly. We ate in the restaurant the first weekend it opened and again everything was excellent. The staff were obviously feeling their way around but were knowledgeable, friendly and chatty. An excellent experience both times. They also serve the usual pies, sausages in batter etc. but also burgers, along with a separate kids menu. They have an alcohol licence and what looks like a large selection of wines.

Our first visit under the new owners. The refurbishment is excellent. What a difference. We visited on a fairly quiet Easter bank holiday lunchtime. The staff were friendly and efficient. Everything was delicious and good value for money. The restaurant now has a licence to sell alcohol. Everything was spotlessly clean even the toilet facilities. Will certainly call in again.

Waited 50 minutes so far for fish and chips takeaway for 5 people! The food is good but the service is appalling - don't bother it's really not worth waiting so long and it's over priced

Recently renovated, the Pavillion was busy on arrival and remained so throughout our visit. I take this as testament to their local following for good food. The variety of fish and chips we ordered all arrived steaming hot, not too greasy and without too long to wait. The fish wasn't large but a reasonable sized and tasted pretty good.
