First time at restaurant food was really nice plenty of it service was good will go there again 😀

We booked for a party of 15, but the restaurant was very accommodating and opened early for us. They were very welcoming and having taken our orders in advance service was smooth. We had a fantastic meal which everyone from young to old enjoyed.

Service was slow, and they didn’t inform us about the set menus until 30 minutes of looking through the normal menu. My partner had a nut allergy, called before and reminded whilst ordering. Meal was brought out with cashews on and had to be sent back to then wait 15 minutes for a new meal. Wasn’t happy with our visit, but the Prawns and Pad Thai were okay.

Good local Thai restraunt Visited many times previously and will again in the future.

This restaurant’s horrible treatment of their staff has put me off ever dining here again. Waiters are forced to eat their tiny meals in a cupboard at the back corner of the restaurant. Diners do not see this until they pass the cupboard on the way to the loos.

Was here on a quieter evening, but I have been before when it was buzzing. On a quieter night, they still use the whole restaurant to spread you out, which is nice for intimacy. The food is delicious. We had the mixed starter, and both had pad Thai, one prawn, and one chicken. Could not fault the food. Staff are always welcoming, too, and have the right level of attentiveness.

Very nice food and really good ambience

Probably the worst Thai restaurant I’ve been to. Service was poor. Request to make 2 dishes less spicy fell on deaf ears. So spicy that we couldn’t eat it. The food in general was mediocre. Pancakes tasted of nothing as was the jasmine ‘dishwater’ tea. Kitchen looked grubby as we passed to go via WC. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Been eating at this local Thai for many years food is the best I have had have tried quite a few in the area and west end but they are not as good as Pat Pong . Starters of mixed platter and chilli squid was delicious and the Papaya Salad was to die for. The Tempura cod and Mossiman beef stunning as was the rice with prawn and crab.. also staff were really nice as usual

Attended a few times and now Patpong have really improved! Food was delicious (ordered takeaway) and it was worth every penny. 😊

Beautiful food and lovely service

We were greeted at the door and seated then gave our orders. The staff were quite grumpy and insistent on ordering starters which some of my family did not want. Then pushing my niece to have rice or noodles with her meal, when she told them she only wanted the seafood meal. At the end of meal they tried to charge us 10% tip each instead of overall for the 4 of us, just because we wanted to pay separately, when we pointed this out they became annoyed They tried to charge for crackers that we didn't order and just gave us, which we thought was complimentary. Again when we pointed this out they grumbled, overall quite an uncomfortable experience and food wasn't great..I had an upset stomach the next day. Not going there again.

Food was nice bit not amazing, two waitresses working, one was lovely the other not so !! Food was quite expensive £115 for 3 starters and mains with a couple of drinks. However was nice.

Delicious Thai food! We had a green curry, red curry and massaman curry. All were delicious and with good portion sizes.

I have not had such a bland Thai curry before. There was 0 spice! So disappointed- will not go back

Have been many times before food is always consistently very good and the staff are amazing very attentive and dressed in traditional Thai dresses . We loved the pad Thai and the Tempura cod good wine choice and reasonably priced ..Definitely recommend this place if you Want Authentic Thai food in a chilled atmosphere at avery reasonable price.

My husband and I have been going to Pat Pong for years and it never disappoints. Our recent visit was to celebrate my husband's birthday. We've recommend this place to family and friends and they have all loved it. It could do with being updated but that won't prevent us from going back. The food is fab 👌🏾

Had a really lovely birthday meal for my mum. The food was great and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. Beef dishes were a little bit on the dry side BUT my pad thai was amazing *chefs kiss* Will definitely be back. Lovely hostesses who were very patient with our large group and took the time to explain the different dishes and suggest more suitable options for the picky eaters of the group. Very reasonably priced.

Always have an enjoyable evening at Patpong. Nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff are helpful and unobtrusively attentive. And the food is simply wonderful.

The worst service and restaurant ever! Disgusting food, tries to over charge you and had an issue giving an itemised bill….

We nipped in Sunday evening… the place was empty .. but the service was truly appalling.. the food not much better… We couldn’t wait to get out of the place .. never going back

Terrible service Was sat next to a horrible draft next to a cupboard to which the waitress taped up with come sticky tape. Had a boy working there wearing trainers and had no idea what he was doing. Food definitely not upto standard, no presentation on food and have had alot better at takeaways. Please there are many other restaurants I would on the high road.

It was my best Thai restaurant but I had horrible experience on valentine day. Soap which I ordered all the time this time they bring nearly only liquid. They apologies they don’t have some of sea product but it’s nothing there what should be normally. When I asked where is mushrooms (which is normally in the soap) , they apologised and return with this soap where they cut big size of mushrooms on four parts and put in the soap. And look at me like I should be happy. The main dish came exactly the same , it’s half missing what it’s supposed to be in the dish. I asked maybe they changed chef- they said “no , it’s the same “ . I’m very disappointed because they loosing quality. It was the best restaurant which I recommended before everyone but I can’t say this about them anymore.

Golden sacks, morning glory, and chocolate balls. Yes, I'm an adult child. Two coworkers had recommended Patpong to me as a must try, so when my friend messaged me saying he was down I knew where I was taking him. The restaurant looks like it's a family run business and the waitresses were really polite and attentive. The bathroom and dining area were clean and I liked that my plate was warm from having just been taken out of the dishwasher. The food. They say laughter is the best medicine, so when I read Golden sacks on the menu I wasted no time in medicating my friend. The golden sacks are crispy spring rolls (ball shaped), with a side of sweet and sour chilli sauce. They were pretty delicious and perfect for my non spicy eating friend. Over all the food was delicious. I regret not ordering a side of rice to go with my stir fried lamb, but it was delicious nonetheless, so much so I had finished it before I remembered to take a picture. I am a little disappointed we didn't order morning glory, but we have saved it for another day, because, there will be another day.

We went on a Thursday evening restaurant was fairly busy with a nice atmosphere very buzzy local restaurant with chilled background music and nice low lighting with candles on the tables…. The mixed starter we had was exceptionally good and the wait between starter to mains was 20/25 minutes actually nice to have a chat in between and you could tell everything was cooked fresh instead of when it comes out in 5mins from the microwave in some other places we have been too. We had the salt&pepper squid the best I’ve tasted and the mossaman beef really delicious and tender the coconut rice was a large portion and the tempura cod with mild chilli and onion omg. We had so much food that we took home a doggy bag which we enjoyed again the next day. Overall a lovely local restaurant good traditional Thai food and good value we love this place.

Staff very friendly in traditional costume lovely feel about the restaurant, the food lovely and fresh and portion size perfect food value for money.

Quite noisy as the restaurant was full, service very functional without any smile and it took a while until the order was taken but once taken everything we ordered came out quickly, very pleasant evening and experience.

The best by far! Love it. Tried almost everything on the menu and can hardly fault anything. Make sure you ask to be gentle with the chillies.

Been coming here on and off for decades and it's always been a cut above. Tasty food, friendly staff, good value. What's not to like?

I ordered a delivery from here and part of this was Som tam salad ( green papaya ) after spending time in Thailand i know what to expect It didn’t have any chilli in it whatsoever so I rang them and was told i must specify this ,…. !!! This is a staple Thai dish surely you should ask for the chilli to be taken out not put in …., and also say this on the menu No apology just dismissive will never order again from here

We hadn't been here for about four years and decided to pop in for an impromptu Friday evening dinner, 7pm. Really quiet initially but it soon got much busier which is always good to see. Service is very attentive, extremely polite - you'll find a large and extensive menu with good veggie options. Not the most inspiring of modern Thai dishes and all served in very traditional (somewhat dated) surroundings but good nonetheless.

👎Poor quality food. The pork is cheap, chewy and flavourless. They couldn't even get the sticky rice right. Even the spring rolls are bland. Didn't even use Thai basil on my meal. Won't use this place again.

Very, very enjoyable meal with wonderful people and staff

Haven’t been here in a few years and I have to say I won’t be going back again. We booked a table for 7pm. We didn’t get our mains until nearly 9pm. Service was awful. As I have only just read in previous comments dating back a few years, they are more interested in serving take aways and the restaurant was bombarded with men in motorcycle helmets sitting at the bar waiting for orders. As our table was close to the bar area, it was quite uncomfortable with all these different people waiting around and being so close given the current covid climate. It’s was a bitterly cold night on Saturday and the waitress was opening the doors constantly to hand over orders and everyone on our table started to feel really cold. Food wasn’t great and the pad Thai was very disappointing and tasted sort of like tomato ketchup. The fish cakes had a weird consistency and tasted very bland. We had no member of staff apologise for the delay or explain to us why our food was so late. In future we will go to the rusty bike where the Thai food is delicious. Hi

Great Welcome,Service and Deeelicious food with reasonabe portion sizes. The menu is very varied with lots of choices. Prices are a bit high but the food quality & taste makes it just about worth it. We went 02/04/22 @ 20.00pm and booked in advance.The Restaurant was almost full with a good atmosphere. I highly recommend..

Sadly this place has gone downhill I went on Christmas Eve already booked for 9.30pm the day before at 9pm I had a call saying can you come now as closing soon so we still went wish I never bothered had our starters main all brought at once and was rushed by the staff appalling service for regulars love the food still but really put me off going again and £97 for we ordered no drinks it’s ridiculous overpriced

The reviews did not live up to our experience which was very disappointing. My starter of fish cakes had very strange rubbery texture and not enjoyable at all. Satay sauce below average. My main was duck curry half of which was fatty bits of skin. Staff not very friendly. Will not return here again or recommend it to anyone

Came here as the reviews seemed good, definitely wasn't let down, the decor was nice, food was lovely and price was average so have no complaints at all. Would definitely recomend if you'd like a nice evening out.

We enjoyed our meal, although I noticed how a small piece of cod or a vegetable can be made to look huge if you coat it in thick batter and fry it. Standard Thai fare, that is filling. Those who asked for mild spicing were disappointed that removing the spice tended to remove flavour. And there was a complaint that the curry sauce was like water. All in all it was a pleasant evening. With drinks, 2 starters, 4 mains, rice and noodles the bill was just under £100. Service was attentive.

Best Thai restaurant I have been to.

I have been going to PatPong for many years now.. Always excellent food. A good friend of mine lived in Thailand for about 10 years. When he came back home I took him there and he also confirmed that the food they serve is how its cooked in Thailand. Truly excellent. I am sure I will continue to go there as long as I live here. Their red curry is incredible.

Good service although we had a slight mix up with the orders. They serve Thai dishes and the food is great. We bought a variety of dishes to share as a group. I strongly recommend their Stir Fried chicken with cashew nuts. The Restaurant itself is nicely lit, not too bright not too dim with nice music playing from the overhead speakers. We plan to return there some time soon.

This is one of my friends’ local restaurants and I was very impressed with the quality of the Thai food. Everything from the duck curry, king prawn to the weeping tiger were fantastic. I would definitely come back for more. I just wish I had also tried the starters too.

Beautifully dressed waitresses that welcome you in. Courteous and polite. Plenty of choice on the menu for food and drinks. Food was served hot , fresh and delicious. A lovely evening.

I went to this restaurant upon the review given. The review did not match my experience had better thai food in royal elephant. Hospitality was OK. The Thai chicken curry was bland and watery did not taste coconut. The coconut rice was sweet tasted liked sugar was added. The starter calamari was served without dips had to ask for the dips. The drinks.and water was served without ice. I wo t be returning to this restaurant

This place does really good Thai food which is as good as ever, but I have marked them down as they haven’t really made much of an effort of spacing the tables out for covid (haven’t been in there since March 20 and there was no change from how it was before), although in their favour they did have hand sanitiser on each table. When I went in there in June it was relatively empty, but they still sat a table of four right next to us when we were half way through our meal and I would say that one of the women was only about 12 inches if that away from me. It really spoilt the evening for me. Also the service was slow this time too. I won’t be going back there for a while and will use one of the restaurants that have taken proper covid spacing precautions or just use them for a takeaway.

Quality has gone down imo....shame

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. At its core it is nice, clean and friendly.

Ordered two curries, both were extremely watered down. Almost as if it was diluted, you could taste the difference. Had plenty of Thai curries in the past and they were definitely thicker and richer. Probably won’t go again.

Amazing food and we are regulars. The only thing was we came a few weeks ago and was given rude treatment. We came to pick up our order over lockdown, when we entered the restaurant we saw a family with no masks inside and right near the counter. We waited by the entrance with masks and was not acknowledged despite the maskless family mentioning us to the manager who was still making conversation and ignoring us. When I tried to approach the bar where the maskless family were free to roam, I was told rudely to get back and wait by the door. This is sad as if the covid rules were really an issue why where the maskless family allowed to be by the bar and even offered seats. We were treated awfully and I can help but think this might be racial as my family are black and the maskless family were white. I wouldn't normally raise this and hope this isn't the case and await an explanation for why we were treated this way. I would like a response to this

I’ve finally found authentic Thai food that’s full of flavour and not oily. Takeaway portions were good and reasonably priced. Chef’s special ribs were the highlight, very good Pad Thai. I’ll definitely order again.

Very Disappointing takeaway Having not eaten a Thai meal for quite some time, we were really looking forward to our takeaway. Unfortunately we were left feeling very disappointed. Satay, and fish cakes were nice. Papaya salad was not spicy hot as it should be. Our main dishes of pork and Thai basil with chilli, and chicken pepper and coriander paste. Both dishes were very poor, grey In appearance with dish water sauce. no flavour. This is not what you would expect for a £50 take Very poor indeed. Needless to say, never again!!

Food is delicious, and good value. Surroundings are pleasant and clean one star deducted as the service is a bit regimented with little interaction from the staff.

Nice place, excellent service, a little bit slow... With the food I was travelling with my mind to my Bangok times... Very nice.... My only one advice, please, improve the service....

We took advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out discount to have a family dinner this evening. The food was good, the service was not bad, but the accounting left a lot to be desired. First, we had two beers and a coke wrongly charged, and second, we were overcharged for the soft drinks. It wasn't easy to find the errors (which between them came to about £20) because the restaurant doesn't have a proper itemised bill. Would I go again? Possibly, but I'd urge management to have a proper billing system and to avoid overcharging its customers.

The food was absolutely amazing and we did not have to wait long for our food. Very nice owners and I would recommend the Pad Thai.

We were told that the kitchen was very busy, that they'd had a load of people arriving at the same time, and that they'd taken lots of Just Eat/Deliveroo orders. I don't think that's a good enough excuse, even on a busy Saturday evening. Why seat that many people all at once? Why take so many phone orders? Why not hire more kitchen staff? This isn't the first local restaurant we've been to recently where we see staff coming out of the kitchen laden with takeaway bags for delivery drivers while we're sat there waiting for too long for our food (the White Swan in Woodford Green was the same). I understand this is good business for them but diner experience is suffering. Local restaurants need to decide what they want to prioritise - the table experience or the takeaway business. We won't be going back to Pat Pong.

Great restaurant love the food...a must

Very delicious food and friendly staff.

I took my wife out for a dinner on Saturday 22nd Feb 2020. The starter was just ok. But the main meal took one hour and 30 minutes to be served. And it was not even up to scratch. Whilst waiting, I ordered a drink but the waitress forgot to bring it. When I asked for the bill, it did include that drink that was never served. Horrible experience.

This is a great gem within the High Street in Chingford. Been there a couple of times now and we have enjoyed an excellent meal on both occasions.The restaurant is big but also has a cosy feel and you don’t feel on top of the next table even at busy times.Went there for my Son’s birthday and all I can say is the food was great, the atmosphere was great and the price was even better.With great service added in, we couldn’t have had a better time. Would highly recommend and we’ll be going back there soon.

Chicken fried rice got it made very spicy and it was delicious... Menu is not too pricey... Not much vegan options however the staff are friendly and it's kinda cosy in there. Nice tasty food but not sure if I'd go back again. Parking is not a big issue in the evening since main road and sideroad is free.

Booked a table all was good until the staff allowed two very drunk gentlemen in and sat them next to myself and my missus .Through out the next 30 mins was the worse thing I have ever witnessed whilst we were eating I had to listen to burping and swearing 1 gentlemen staring at my missus all the time,they were so loud I felt sorry for the couple who had a young child with them More drinks served to them I paided my bill 51.00 felt so angry that not 1 member of staff said anything to these people Thought the rules were the same in restaurants if u had to much drink don't serve no more I phoned and complained 10 mins after leaving restaurant and was told they gone now That didnt help me I left have my dinner and got a 51.00 bill Really think you should look after customers a bit better then you did on this occasion Will tell everyone about the lack of customer satisfaction How abusive drunks got a better service than a couple out for a quiet evening

Haven't been to Parpong for a few month, but as usual the food was great and very authentic Thai, and the friendly service was also great.

This is a not so hidden gem in North Chingford opposite the station. Lovely Thai food for the four of us, great atmosphere, almost full on Thursday. Worth the journey to the edge of Epping Forest. Easy parking. Go there soon!
