Best place can't beat the taste of this place, best chips in a very long time. I actually went round to 8 fish and chip shops in Peterborough and none tasted better than this place....

Called in for £5 fish and chips. Paid a little extra to eat in and have mushy peas included. The meal was freshly cooked and hot. The portion was sufficient for an adult. Very good value for money, clean seating area, friendly and pleasant staff, I will be back and recommending to friends.

I visited this chippy on Friday and I must say it was beautiful! The fish was amazing quality, reasonably priced and very tasty indeed! I was served by a young girl with glasses, she was very polite and helpful. Great service makes a difference!

£5 Special for fish and chips! Absolutely bargain. The seating area is clean and basic but the food was really good. Would definitely recommend. Looks like the offer is only Friday/Saturday though.

Been going here for some 26 years Sadly today was a huge let down asked for 2 portions chips and gravy They were wrapped in paper instead of trays. As we wanted to eat them in the car this was impossible Went back in asked for trays was informed they don't do them any more due to Government regulations they have been banned. I asked what I could do and was rudely informed "other people manage!" I asked for my money back and Was told the food had been provided so I couldn't have my money back Very very poor attitude 0 customer service. I presume that single use plastic or polystyrene trays banned from 1st October mean this shop are unable to source a replacement that is legal.Too expensive eat in to profit???? Well cheers just voted with my feet These new owners have no idea about customer service bye

Wow talk about a chip shop going down hill the most depressing long winded chip shop in peterborough, young lad with hat on looks like he’s about to commit suicide, the women ain’t got a clue and are just as slow and miserable, waited 20 minutes for a seniors and it was empty,,, blimey what a let down after all the years it’s been here and by the looks of it the owners are very defensive judging by there replies on all the reviews… the most stingiest, miserable long winded chipper ever, good luck

I'm doing this review because of a recent delivery order... Food took 2 hours to arrive and was stone cold, we phoned chip shop twice and the second time they us that once food leaves their shop it's not their problem,i beg to differ.. I will never buy food from here again

Absolutely shxt, I couldn't believe wat they put in front of me,had to ask for fork and napkin place was empty (I wonder why) seated inside and the waiter comes and tells me I need to go eat outside ask apparently had asked for take away

We have been going for over 50 yrs when tim retired we have been few times sadly the chips are nothing like they have been we went and tryed again today no taste in chips and more hard chip bit than full chip so after giving the new owner benefit of the dought we will not go back no atomphere poor food and quality is so poor .

Chips were nice despite looking like they'd been taken out of the bin! Long wait and miserable boss. Packaging started breaking down luckily I was given 1 napkin else I'd have lost the tiny portion I was given. Anemic sausages defrosting in the microwave made my mind up not to eat it and mushy brown peas??? Should be green 🤢

I would avoid being served by 'Kerry' She has the worst attitude I have experienced! Not sure if she was in a bad mood or tired but the customers and staff were sure getting the rough end of it. Also over heard her speaking about how previous guests came in to eat and 'were all this and that' & 'making her run back and forth' causing her to think it was okay 'to spit in their food and watch them eat it'! Will not come back or go in if she is there...then again I'm wondering if I'll go back again because that sort if behaviour rubs off on certain staff members is they think 1 has gotten away with such nastiness

I had the Fish Friday special which is Fish & Chips for a fiver along with a couple of potato fritters which were 50p each. Everything was great! Fish was tasty, chunky and coated in a nice batter. Chips were great and the fritters were lovely too. Everything is cooked to order and I'll defintely be back! 😋

Tucked away at the back of the shop is a staircase leading to a small dining area with table service. I had a good pot of tea and a generous portion of scampi with just the right amount of chips. Thank-you!

Not been to parrots for a few years. I had the lunchtime special sausage chips and a drink and a curry sauce. Not bad at all but the curry sauce wasn’t your usual stuff. Kind of fruity, never had that kind before, decent.

Clean and tasty; I did not like the fact that the mashed peas were microwaved

Had table service lunch upstairs - waitress was rushed off her feet but still made sure customers were served quickly. Food was really good, nice sized portion. Highly recommend especially if you’re visiting from overseas like I was and want a real British chippy experience.

Chips were only Luke warms lot of scrappy bits fish was hot lightly battered but very flat curry sauce hot 🔥 drinks lovely seems all new staff when asked for middle piece of cod staff didn't know what that was to be told in a grumpy voice we only do fillet. Very disappointed shar t be. Back for a while

I HAVE TO SAY PARROTTS FISH BAR IS NOT AS GOOD AS IT USED TO BE...SERVICE TODAY WAS SLOW AND THERE WAS A QUEUE. ONE OF THE MEMBERS OF STAFF WAS WALKING AROUND IN WITH HER HEAD IN THE CLOUDS AND NOT SERVING...THE PORTION WE GOT ALSO WAS VERY SMALL AND TASTED VERY FATTY.

Disgusting behaviour towards the customer, told my mum to use the men's toilet as the ladies were already cleaned for tommorow and spoke to her like she was nothing. She is a customer leaving her money at this business, you should be ashame of your self, Who ever you are, you are very lucky I was not there! That is all I can say. I had to give one star but you deserve nothing

Fish and Chips very good. Of course, for a British dish it's good. Unfortunately, the chicken quarter was dry, which was a pity.

Although the staff were busy and a little stressed, the restaurant was clean and we were seated quickly. It took some time for our food to arrive, likely because it was cooked fresh and not left on a warm shelf to be reheated when needed. The fish and chips arrived hot and overflowing the plate. the chips were crisp, yet not overcooked. The fish was white and tasty, the batter thin and crunchy. Honestly one of the best fish and chips I've had in England, certainly the best north of the Watford Gap. No picture, there wasn't enough left to snap once I realised I'd just started eating.

First time visitor since Parrotts changed ownership. Positives: * upstairs restaurant appears to have lost some tables, which meant it was lovely and roomy upstairs * downstairs cafe area plastic fixed chairs & tablets replaced with wooden moveable furniture which is a big improvement * food tasted ok & reasonable sized portions * friendly staff Negatives: * Drink prices are very high!! * New menu layout is a bit confusing & at first glance looks very limited Would I return yes, but next time i will order tap water (even though i personally hate drinking water)

Staying at sons and went twice in the week. They were beautiful. Crispy fish snd white new chips. Highly recommend .

After hearing a recommendation from a friend, we visited Parrotts whilst in Peterborough for the Beer Festival. Our fish and chips lunch deal came with a proper pot of tea and it was excellent. The lady who served us also deserves a mention! She was brilliant, was chatty and had a great sense of humour. We will definitely return next time in Peterborough.

Myself and my mum come here every Friday in the first week.My mum struggles a lot now with mobilty so we stick to three.shops .And Parrots has been a favourite of ours since I was a little girl .Fish and chips are so nice we also do a small one to take home for my brother .Service is ace to a I've and beyond .Can't wish for a better service and fish is outstanding.Thankyou .

Great place for lunch, either cafe or restaurant style. Depends what you want. Often dine here when in town. Very handy for town centre.

The owner lied to me & told me the chips were fried on their own, I binned them as they didn't taste right, went back a week later and asked another member of staff & they told me the chips are cooked in the same oil as chicken 🤮

I've enjoyed fish and chips from parrots for many years but I was very disappointed with my recent order..I asked for cod and chips and was given Haddock instead,I don't like Haddock as I don't like the skin plus haddock is dryer than cod...I miss the elderly chap as all the years I've been going he never got my order wrong..oh and chips were terribly to

Great fresh fish in crispy coating, maybe just a bit too small 😉😜. The fries are good, they smell of fresh oil, the portion is large, although I've had better ones, they're still good. Nice service, we didn't wait long. We will definitely come back to fish.

Bit disappointed. Appears to have changed management, which has resulted in a considerable reduction in portion size, and the cod now appears to be a cut and shaped strip of fish! Improvements are needed!

Whenever I'm in Peterborough, I'll be visiting here again. Fish, chips,mushy peas, a pit of tea and table service for under a tenner. It's the last decent deal on the planet! Nice too..

I love a good chippy but down south is hard to find. The gravy is tasty and thick and the chips cooked to perfection. I promise you won’t find better and believe me I’ve tried

First of all the Fish and Chips are excellent, easily the best in Peterborough, There are three ways of having this delight. Take Away, eat in and upstairs a restaurant. Before this year we went to the restaurant once a month. The service was exceptional, and so was the Fish and Chips. My wife always has the Curry Sauce which she raves about, even taking a pot to my sister. The staff are always friendly and helpful. If ever in the City, visiting the Cathedral or watching your team play Posh take time out to visit this fabulous place.

Phoned an order through to pick up. Food as usual was delicious but....was told I have to wear a mask but because the order was ready it's ok, I am exempt from wearing masks due to COPD and asthma I mentioned this and was asked if I had a certificate to prove this. I'm afraid the NHS doesn't give out certificates for health issues. I will be using you again but someone else will have to go inside the shop for me

Their oil doesn't get changed enough or properly leaving a nasty rank oil taste....hope it stays as a chippy but hopefully a better one with the new owners....can't wait to see what the future holds and fingers crossed 🤞 like I say it remains a chippy 🤞

This is as well established Fish and Chip shop you can eat in or take away. One of the things we like to do when shopping in Peterborough is to take the advantage of the upstairs waitress service. The room is basic with a chance to take the weight off your feet. The Staff are very friendly and helpful and you can look out over the street. The fish is cooked downstairs and their is a full menu of fish to choose from Tea, coffèe fizzy drinks and mineral water are all available brought to your table.Parrott's can be found midway between the Indoor market and the shopping centre.My wife and I have eaten here for the last five or more years when shopping in Peterborough we have always been pleased with the food and service provided by Parrott 's.. Warning the stairs are quite steep. Jod.

There is not a fish and chip place in the United States that I have visited that compares to the excellent fish size and taste. The service is fast and friendly, only thing I don’t really like is they charge for tartar sauce, heck I just use the malt vinegar.
