Looking in need of a bit of tlc but the best value around and well cooked tasty food. A winner.

Greeted with a huge smile. Keen to serve us, patient and friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Was served our food quickly too. Food tasted amazing and very reasonable in price

Friendly staff, decent menu for both food and drink. Does get busy so worth thinking of booking in advance. It is better to go earlier in the evening than later. Parking can be difficult, but this depends on the time you go. We go there quite often now as it is closer for us as we live just up the road from there. Overall I can reccommend this as a good and decent pub, child friendly, wheelchair access and the staff are only to ready to help and advise.

I booked these up for my 40th birthday , 15 adults 5 children for 22nd march 2024. First time I rang them I chose 5.30 so needed to ring them again to change it to 6:30 good job I rang second time they'd missed out the 5 children first time. However don't bother messaging them on Facebook messenger I messaged 1st of march still no reply after my meals. So browsing the menu online we couldn't seem to find starters so we chose picky bits as starters which thankfully they we're going brought out as starters. The garlic chibatta with cheese was delicious. Chicken nuggets we're high quality nuggets I really enjoyed them along with the waffle fries. The hot apple pie was amazeballs

This place has improved so much last few years. Cheap & cheerful pub meals, nice pint of San Miguel, friendly staff.

We was a party of 13 and all our meals came out together, service was very good, it was good value for the money, only one problem coming out you couldn't see where the steps were was a little bit dangerous when you have small children with you .

upon arrival we were greeted and shown to a table we didn't at first like we suggested another and was no problem for them at all! We ordered a shared meat platter which was amazing and the meat melted off the bone! Great service and customer skills!

Went up for an 18th birthday party with 5 family members. All tables were reserved as requested and the food was very very nice (I had a mixed grill and I had no complaints it was amazing). Staff were helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was great. Will definitely be returning.

Mixed grill was lovely to be fair, but the chips were cold. Also dog friendly so I'll be giving it another try

Nice atmosphere, food was good, normal pub food. Asked if the meal was ok and it was fine. Waitress was friendly and polite. Food was served quickly.

Our party was made up of 19 people on a Sunday. Being a little short staffed, we wrote down our own orders and took them to the bar. At this point we were expecting somewhat of a slow, staggered service but the staff did a great job. Every single one of us had our meals served withing a couple of minutes of the first person. The meals themselves were well presented, my steak was perfectly cooked and even if not the finest food I've ever eaten was still really nice. We all enjoyed our desserts (bakewell tart and custard, oh my god! Yum!). The pricing is in line with every other restaurant we've been to recently, but we weren't paying for this particular meal 😅 Thoroughly recommend!

Steak came out not sizzling... makes you think that its sat on the hot counter ... no peas on skillet. Chips not the hottest either.. but staff are very friendly and attentive

Order came out all wrong...and a young server was very rude when giving out 2 of our deserts that did not arrive with the rest of the deserts .. everyone else had finished when we asked for the 2 missing deserts when they arrived they was basically thrown on the table not even given to the correct people in fact we wasn't even asked who's was who's.... really bad attitude of this young girl....not a reflection on all staff as all the others was apologetic and polite

After cinema meal yesterday (25th January),approx 5pm - very quiet, only 4/5 people there. We had not booked but staff were able to accommodate us (2) & we were led to our table to look at the extensive menu. We chose Chicken Burger & American Southern fried burger from the "Thursday" deal of B.O.G.O.F Burgers both served with Fries & a Salad garnish. Ordering is done @ the bar & our food was served piping hot costing us £10 79 for 2 Burgers. EXCELLENT VALUE! too full after our meals (which was very tasty) for desserts, we vowed to return as the Menu had so much choice with a different deal every day. 10/10 from us.

On a Friday me and some of my colleagues always go to the Parc-Y-Prior for a couple of pints but we do have some food some times. The food is always good. The staff in there is amazing, everyone is really friendly and polite. I recommend this restaurant for food and drinks.

Visited for lunch with my family absolutely brilliant service from the staff and the food was delicious and great value for money will definitely be back.

Booked online the day before. Saw that almost every time was available so thought it would be quiet. We walked through the door and straight into a queue. An elderly gentleman walked up to me and asked if we had book. I looked at him a bit strange, as I thought he was a member of the public, no uniform or badge to say who he was was. So he took me out of the queue to show me our table. It took a good 10 mins to get served for a drink. There was 6 of us. Ordered our food, 2 sirloins, 2 burgers, mixed grill and steak and ale pie. Within 10 mins our food was being brought to the table. We all looked surprised at how quick it was. The last plate was put on the table and a woman came over and asked if everything was OK. We said yes although we hadn't had chance to really try anything. So after a few minutes my wife said her steak was chewy, our friend said the same. Our other friend said he was disappointed with the pie. Hardly anything in it, mostly gravy and pastry. My wife and friend failed to eat their steaks. They got fed up of chewing it. My wife's was extremely fatty. Not even the steak knife could cut through it. My burger wasn't the best I've had, for some reason it had been cut in half before being put in the bun. The other 2 people appeared happy with their food. We thought it very strange that mushrooms were no where to be seen on the menu. Usually mushrooms come with steak or an extra. When we asked why they don't do mushrooms, the girl just shrugged her shoulders and said I don't know. Steak is served with peas, half a tomato and some onions. We did complain about the steaks. First of all was told that we said all was OK. Then was told she will go check to make sure it was sirloin. Although she said it was she also said something about the cuts being different and they look like t-bone steaks although definitely sirloin. We were then offered 2 chocolate fudge cakes for free to take home, although they were frozen. I'm not sure how they cooked all this food within 10 minutes. My guess is that its pre-cooked and then just warmed up. That would explain the chewy steak. Would we go again. 4 of us said definitely not. Very disappointed to be honest.

Food is always lovely and cheap if you get one of the offers, nice staff and friendly atmosphere, not great for parking tho 😉

Lovely time with our friends who live very near pub on New years eve lunch ,the staff very pleasant at all times when we go there .

We had a lovely lunchtime Christmas meal yesterday. Originally booked for last week, due to illness we had to postpone. Thanks to Lana for her patience with me changing our booking. What a lovely welcome we had from all the staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, couldn't fault it. Especially the extra gravy that was offered and apparently the chocolate orange fudge cake was delicious according to my daughter.

Booked a table on the app no problem. On arrival shown to my table. Food and drinks ordered at bar. Food was lovely and the staff were lovely too. Food great value for money. Well worth a visit would definitely go again

Highly recommend this restaurant, been here quite often recently.and have never been disappointed. Tonight Lana was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble. We ate from the festive menu. The table was decorated and the food was amazing, only criticism was the size of the turkey dinner.......huge! Gutted it couldnt all be eaten. Cant wait to return. Thankyou and Merry Christmas 🎅

I came with my children to see Santa and have a breakfast to very warm welcome from the staff the food was amazing will definitely will be back soon.

We had pre-booked a christmas family meal for 10. On arrival we received a friendly warm welcome from all the staff and a lovely gentleman showed us to our table. It was great that as a group we could split our meal choices between the festive menu and the regular menu. We confirmed our pre order and was told when the rest of the party ordered their food, they would add it all onto the system at the same time so that all the meals arrived together. One of the staff members Yvonne, was great with the kids, asking them about christmas and then gave them pencils and colouring sheets to keep them entertained. Both Yvonne and Sophie were fab when we were ordering drinks and even pointed out the special drinks, which of course we had to try. Nothing was too much trouble for Amy who was serving us. Despite the fact that the pub and bar was extremely busy. The service was quick and the food was hot and very tasty. Even thiugh the staff were run off their feet they were always smiling. All in all it was a great meal out with family, excellent service and great value. We wouldn't hesitate to make a group booking here again.

Excellent service and value for money As a party of 10, 7 of us which were adults and three children had the festive menu we had the three course meal which is excellent value for your money, the other three people two adults and a child had the main menu it was all delivered to our table hot and with a smile, the food was enjoyed by us all. We all had an enjoyable evening and would recommend the parc y prior for all small and large parties. In all we would like to thank the staff for making us all welcome

12 of us visited for lunch including a child and several fussy eaters. We were made to feel very welcome and everyone was catered for without a fuss. Food was very generous and reasonably priced with dishes to suit everyone. Thanks to the team for making our family birthday outing so enjoyable.

We visited as a family recently to meet up for the Xmas menu. We’ve been going here for a few years and always had a good meal. We live outside of Newport and it’s a good place to meet. This year, the food was not as good. The carrots were boiling hot where the sprouts were not, so look like the carrots had been in a microwave. The turkey was processed and was quite watery, again not very warm. My partner didn’t order from the Xmas menu and had a mixed grill. The chicken seemed undercooked as it was watery too. The gammon was ok, but the steak was that tough, you could hardly cut it. It was supposed to be cooked medium but was more rare than medium. We had desserts from the Xmas menu, but again not very good and most of it was left. The staff seemed like they couldn’t be bothered, no please or thank yous even though we spent over £200.

I had the slow cooked beef rib, it was absolutely beautiful. Everyone enjoyed their steaks. Not to many chips, just the right amount. We had a lovely afternoon. It was my Mother's Birthday so we were very happy with the food and Atmosphere. My hat off for the Chef.

Great food, a bit more expensive than other places. £15 for a rump steak, no sauce and a coke. Didnt wait long for the food. recommend booking a table, can get quite busy. Free parking, lovely beer garden in the summer with a small park for children.

Booked for the festive pre set meal with friends. Meal was amazing, plenty of it and very tasty. Staff were amazing and were very attentive. For the money I didn’t expect much but the run of the mill but this meal and service was fantastic. We had a wonderful evening with great food and fab company ❤️

Works night out tonight 7/12/2023. Service at the bar was quick. Food was lovely, enjoyed by all. Graham served us all throughout the night and got to praise him highly. Really couldn't have done any more for us. His service was outstanding. Lovely guy and very polite. Thank you Graham.

Went on a Wednesday and wasn't aware it was a quiz night. We were sat very close so found it extremely noisy. If you are into a quiz it would have been good. Enjoyed my meal but some of the group didn't.

What an amazing time at the parc y prior. Great food great service friendly staff couldn’t do enough for us and great value for money. 12 sat down for a meal it came out hot and altogether no waiting. Will deffo go back soon

Lovely busy pub & restaurant, I had the 7hr slow cooked beef rib which was delicious and would definitely recommend.

The Parcy is my favourite place to go for food. It’s cheap, great service & amazing food. They have great starters, mains & desserts. The steak fondue is so good & it’s so filling. We love going for family meals & they’re always happy to cater to us all. Emma & Sophie are always so lovely & helpful ☺️

I can’t fault the Parc Y Prior. The food was beautifully cooked and the atmosphere was fabulous. I’ve been to the pub several times and would definitely recommend it. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Emma was particularly helpful with us fussy eaters....

Hidden gem of a pub/restaurant just off the top of Malpas hill. Friendly welcoming staff, great food which is in abundance so definitely value for money. Thanks to Yvette and Sophie for serving us so well.

Super friendly staff, amazing value and great quality food with decent range of beers (couple more IPA's would be good). Sport showing in one half - good mix of folk and pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Great evening out here! All the staff were really friendly and accommodating. They were extremely helpful and made the meal out so much better. The place was really tidy and staff were on top of it. Great food, can’t name anything bad about here!

No greeting, just led to a table and only thing they said to us is be off the table by 3pm (1 1/2hrs) not a welcome environment

I want to say you get quantity over quality but it's both! Massive food portions and great pricing. It might not be the Ritz but it's absolutely fantastic if you're after a big meal for a great price.

Rang for tables.Told us there are tables available drove 20mins to be told they have got no tables for us and did not ring them. Very disappointed

Booked a table for 8pm was seated promptly, staff were cheerful and happy to help.. ordered loaded waffles fries and chicken straps for starters followed by an 8oz rump and xl mixed grill for mains.. both starters and mains were brought out fairly quickly and the food was amazing.. throughly recommended and will definitely be back again in the future :)

Considering how busy it was the place was buzzing, staff were brilliant and on top of everything. There was six of us and we didn't have to wait long for our meals. We all had something different and everything came out hot and really tasty. Would definitely recommend for a meal anyday of the week.
