Posto molto piccolo ma accogliente con tavoli stretti . Abbiamo preso le uova alla Benedict con il salmone (davvero ottime) e due coca light . Siccome avevamo richiesto di non mettere la salsa al burro sopra , c’è stato un disguido in cucina e le hanno rifatte allungando di molto l’attesa . Another good breakfast place that’s worth every penny. Waffles are to die for. I haven’t tasted anything like they have. Tuna sandwich also. Although place was too small and you have to queue in line, I must say it’s worth it.

Lovely cafe in Edinburgh City Centre with “people watching” views over Hanover Street. Wide choice of savoury and sweet lunch options and drink options. We had the soup and toasted sandwich option and all very delicious. Friendly welcoming staff. Well priced for a city centre eatery.

I happened across Pappii because we are staying in NewTown for a few days to sightsee. And we will 100% go back again. First, the staff are amazing. Smiles, friendly, accommodating, quick, articulate, absolutely stellar. We had a party of 3 so they pulled a stool up for us but when another table vacated later, they asked if we wanted to move to a 4-top so we’d have room for our breakfast plates. They quickly helped us move and took our order. <chef’s kiss> Eggs Benedict was AMAZING. I’ve never had one this delicious. My husband and I both ordered it and loved it. Their in-house Hollandaise sauce is scrumptious and the egg perfectly poached x 4! Our teen had waffles with bananas and Nutella and ate way more than I expected. The waffles were fluffy inside and slightly crisp in the outside which is exactly how we like it. We also got a decaf Americano coffee and a mango smoothie take-away, both also delicious. I forget to request a dallop of milk in my coffee so Frank it black and was surprised by how smooth and not acidic the brew was. I want to stop by and see if they sell the beans for me to take back to America!! We will definitely be back and think everyone should check this tasty cafe out for themselves!

This is a decent cafe. Staff were cool, loads of food and drinks to choose from. I went for the signature halloumi sandwich and it was good. Nice coffee too.

We saw the reviews for this cafe and decided to check it out on our trip to Edinburgh, it did not disappoint! We managed to get a seat straight away however it soon filled up after we arrived. The service was excellent, the coffee and breakfast were lovely. It was so good we wanted to order it again! However, the prices were a little on the steep side at £12 for eggs Benedict and 1 waffle for £10. It was delicious though and worth the money, they were very generous with the bacon which is quite unusual as a lot of cafes scrimp on this! A small complaint would be that the waffle and bacon did not come out very warm, and by the end was really quite cold which was a shame. However we really enjoyed our trip with great food and a nice atmosphere. We highly recommend!

This was recommended to us as it was close to where we were staying. My fellow diners were content with their choices of bacon rolls - however my toasted muffin was stale and not tasty at all. The scone was not much better. To the managers credit after I had left most of the food he did reduce our bill. However, we didn't return again the following day which had been our original intention.

The staff was lovely, the food delicious. Overall an excellent place for brake fast with a great atmosphere. Strongly recommend to give it a visit if your in the era!

I adore Papii. I have visited on three occasions for breakfast and absolutely loved it. Not only is the cafe adorable inside, the food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and can manage a crowd very effectively. While there is limited seating in the restaurant, it's definitely worth a visit. Their waffles are probably the best in Edinburgh!

It’s a very small place, but worth holding on for a table. Nice choice of breakfast items, and amazing pastries. Eggs Benedict comes with their homemade hollandaise sauce which makes a huge difference 😀

The food was excellent but found the menu to be limited, we went here as it was recommended as a good spot for breakfast but it feels more like a lunch/ brunch place. We have 3 stars as my other half has a gluten allergy and they have no GF options.

This tiny coffee shop is near our hotel so we went for both lunch and breakfast when time was limited. The food is fine and fresh although nothing extraordinary to repot. The coffee and chai latte, however, were delicious.

It was a cold rainy morning, and I had just got off my 10 hour coach from London. After finding Papii, settling down and tasting some of their excellent food, I knew this was the place for breakfast that I wanted to go everyday.

Went for a late breakfast. Absolutely lovely staff. Had a delicious cinnamon bun with coffee - coffee was great. Also had the yoghurt granola - very fresh - lots of fruit. Will be back. There was a very extensive menu to try.

We arrived late on Sunday afternoon. Two panini with drinks was just what we needed. We even took a cinnamon roll to go. The black board menu is extensive, with exceptional prices.

Edinburgh in lockdown is not an easy place to be when looking for somewhere to eat. I had researched a couple of places so headed here on the Sunday morning. Great choice. Small but Covid restrictions re seating adhered to . Queue outside and once inside easy to see why. The food is excellent!!!! I had Eggs florentine and my daughter waffles with syrup and bacon. The best recommendation I can give is we didn’t try anywhere else the next day we just headed back to Papii.

We had Eggs Florentine, Veggie Panini. Very tasty and affordable, would recommend going early because the cafe can only have 4-5 groups of seating due to COVID-restrictions. We were there at 9.10 and the cafe got filled up very quickly. Many customers were turned away.

Té absolutamente delicioso, nos trajeron tazas de té recién hechas y calientes para nuestras segundas teteras, y nos sentamos en la ventana junto a las luces de colores escuchando la alegre música de los 80. Lo único que diría es que los huevos inicialmente venían con bastante pimentón que no dice en el menú, tal vez eso podría ser algo que puedan preguntar cuando pidas. Pero nos trajeron huevos frescos muy rápidamente y fueron encantadores. Un desayuno realmente perfecto.

¡Mi novio y yo visitamos este pequeño café porque me apetecían los gofres y este lugar fue el primero en Google! Los dos no nos decepcionó que yo tuviera los waffles de fresa y almíbar y mi novio los huevos Benedict. Ambos eran porciones deliciosas y decentes.El menú en general es bastante variado y tiene un precio muy razonable.Puedes comer en casa o para llevar, aunque la cafetería en sí es muy pequeña, es posible que tengas que esperar un poco afuera para tener una mesa adentro.También un servicio encantador, definitivamente lo recomendaría!

Popped in hear after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and realising that it was just around the corner from our apartment.I had the eggs Benedict which was very tasty. The crispy bacon was good quality as were the eggs. Unfortunately the coffee machine was broken so hot drinks weren't an option so I had the fruit berry smoothie. It was very nutritious and extremely cool, ended up getting brain freeze!Seating is limited and a bit of a squeeze bit that's because it's popular which is always a good sign. Would definitely recommend dispite the lack of hot drinks.

I can only speak about the breakfast - we went for breakfast Saturday and enjoyed it so much we returned on Sunday! I had the full breakfast with the tastiest sausage and bacon I've ever eaten. My wife had a lovely omelette day 1, then American-style pancakes with blueberries day 2 - loved it all. Good service too.

Being from the Pacific North West my taste in coffee runs toward a darker roast which imparts an oily, earthy and nutty flavor to the beans. Most of the coffee I found in the UK was medium "Italian" roast which translated to my palate as bitter and acidic. I'm a "Americano" drinker because I like the flavor of coffee. Papii offered such cup of coffee! The bonus is that this shop is located away from the busy hub but an easy walk (we stayed at the New Caledonian). The food served was plentiful and robust. Loved the eggs Benedict and fresh baked goods. If you are a PNW coffee type of person I highly recommend this place!

Great place for freshly cooked breakfast. Only down side is they do not serve almond milk as an alternative for their coffee. Although the coffee was delicious and staff are friendly and the food is served really quickly.

I went here last year with my partner and have since been back and sent my whole family to try it out. My father now regularly goes for lunch and loves it too. It's cute and has a lovely ambience, very nice for a romantic breakfast, but go early it gets busy. My boyfriend had eggs Benedict which he loved and went back for too. I had waffles and they were divine, and accommodating to changes. Truly lovely cafe, have come back many times since and hope to go again soon. If you fancy watching the city with a nice pot of tea and breakfast go here!

Tuve huevos Benedict con tocino "crujiente"; mi hija tenía gofres cubiertos con tocino "crujiente"; y mi hijo tenía un sándwich de tocino. La idea del chef de "crujiente" difería mucho de la nuestra. Lo que todos obtuvimos fue tocino poco cocinado, grasiento y rayado. La salsa holandesa en mis huevos estaba dominada por el vinagre y era desagradable al gusto, y mi chocolate caliente estaba tibio en el mejor de los casos.

Normalmente no marco los lugares como "terribles" a menos que tenga una muy buena razón. Normalmente, soy un cliente comprensivo, tranquilo y justo, que generalmente solo se verá obligado a presentar una queja si, por ejemplo, la comida se retrasa ridículamente, algunos platos o bebidas nunca llegan, la torpeza constante del camarero o si hay alguien en el pelo comida (ha sucedido antes!).
