Pangs Chinese Restaurant in Hillingdon

We used to always get our food from Simon's (officially The Dragon Inn) across the road, but then tragically the DI closed their kitchen for good, leaving their customers with the choice of finding a local takeaway as good as the DI or crossing Long Lane to Pangs. After trying practically every Chinese in the locality, we came back to Pangs, because to be honest, their food is good. Slightly different from the DI, but we eventually got used to the changes. However, after a while we realised that the prices had been gradually going up and up, leaving us with an uncomfortable debit card bill for a very average meal. We no longer use Chinese takeaways just because we fancy one. Instead, we’ll go to a London Chinese restaurant on very special occasions.

Waited an age to get served. Got my order wrong, but the food was very tasty.

I don’t mind paying more for something when it is good, however half the size and twice the price and there was an awful after taste, I had better not be sick tomorrow! Never again… PANGS you have let yourselves and your customers down….

Had a lovely meal here. Food was excellent and plentiful - had to take some home, and the service was friendly and helpful. We were quite early and it was getting busier as we left. Highly recommended, we will go again

If I could give no stars I would . Used to go here 5 years ago when the buffet was open it was really nice . Now it’s all ala-carte , the food was disgusting didn’t even get past the starters to the mains . We’ll never go back here again

Average, the egg fried rice was clumpy and had a strange taste to it compared to all others that I have tried. The beef chow was poor and very greasy, the chips were very dry. The sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style was nice but the sauce was too thick and gloopy. The salt and chilli chicken was OK. We won't be going back anytime soon

Didn't notice there was no longer a buffet here until I got here. Needs to be clearer on this. Didn't even go in

Popped in here for our last meal in London. The food was lovely and the service was excellent. Unfortunately we were the only diners and this did nothing for the atmosphere. An enjoyable evening meal with nice cold drinks. Would visit again!

Honestly some of the nicest Chinese food we’ve had in such a long time! Ordered delivery so can’t speak to atmosphere, but wow - chicken, prawns, veg, rice, spring rolls, all their chow mein - just beautiful. And we’re difficult to satisfy! Thank you

Decor is shabby with dirty carpets. Food not good and very overpriced. We mentioned that crispy duck was reheated and overcooked. Waiter didnt even respond. Oil needs changeing as food was dark as if cooked in old oil. Wouldnt go back and didnt leave a tip.

I ordered food through Deliveroo to be delivered yesterday: order nr.8348 For dietary changes you need to post order call the restaurant. I called 14 times to get through and NO one answered the phone. I never got through and then the food was at the door. My boys have allergy and dietary specifications that I could found not pass on. So the dinner for them was RUINED. As well I ordered the char Siu which was swimming in an onion sauce. NOTHING Chinese about this! No idea where this dish comes from clearly not traditional Chinese after living in Asia for 8 years. I spent £73 on this meal and it was a disaster for the boys How can you run a restaurant and not answer the phone for dietary requirements as this is the only option I have. Be warned

AVOID ! AVOID HE ASSAULTED MY FRIEND GRABBING HER ARM. My friend and I wanted to share the dishes so ordered from the menu as the set meals my friend couldn’t eat some of the dishes. The restaurant was empty we were the only one in there ( should have told us something then )! The manager / owner was quite rude kept coming over to take our order when we were still deciding on what to have. My friend and I worked out that our meal would come to £21.50 each. ( this was without drinks we ordered them after ordering the meal ) The manager / owner over heard us discussing how much it would be each. He promptly brought the bill over and said it was £44 and not 21.50. The food was awful we complained to the manager / owner who went out the back for 5 minutes My friend and I decided to leave as we didn’t eat the food and didn’t know why he ( manager ) had gone at the back without asking us what was wrong with the food or should that be lack of it very small portions certainly not for two people. We started to leave the premises when my friend was grabbed by the arm by the manager/ owner. This is ASSULT he hurt her arm and tried to stop us from leaving. We were not going to Pay for a meal that we didn’t eat. Once we had got out and safely into my car we drove round the corner and telephoned the police. The police took down my friends details and will be in touch with her about this.

Food was awful and owner puts leftovers in your meals. Terrible customer service

We just ordered egg fried rice & special fried rice, sweet & sour chicken balls & hong kong style, & beef in black bean source. The lady was very polite on the phone & very friendly when collected. The portions were generous & really tasty. The beef wasnt chewy like our local is. Very nice indeed.

Good Chinese takeout but quite expensive

I always order from Pangs, to this day the best Chinese food around! The food is always cooked to perfection and the portions are just right. Incredible food!

Sorry but the chicken satay was over cooked and the peanut sauce was so thick and bitter. The chicken chow main was dry and way to much salt. Sorry for this review but this food was not good. Looking at your reviews they seem to be good, but not on this occasionIt seemed the chicken satay was not fresh and the restaurant needs to think about it’s customers if they want to have them return.

I have gotten Pangs twice now and I write this review as I am eating Chow Mein, House special curry, salt and chilli chips and egg fried rice. This place is phenomenal they are generous with their portions, the curry had HUGE pieces of beef chicken and pork in it, and plenty to spare. The salt and pepper chips are literally the best you will EVER find. The chow mein is so delicious I feel like I could marry it. This is my goto place for Oriental cuisine from now on, perfect pricing for perfect food. THANK YOU PANGS 😊😊

Had a lovely meal last night, the staff couldn't do more for you and were really friendly. I wide choice of food that once ordered cam out quickly and tasted amazing.

We order Singapore noodles and Singapore fried rice but quality of food not up to standard , we came here looking into reviews , totally disappointed

Absolutely disgusting fish was tasteless vegetables were raw noodle were bland special fried prawn rice was hard as rock.. Totally waste of money all went in the bin avoid this restaurant unless you have money to waste... Better off buying macdonald...

This has to be the worst takeaway I’ve ever ordered. Chicken balls were close to burnt and chicken was raw inside. As for the pancake roll and chilli wings they were disgusting. I was shocked to the fact a company could deliver what looked like scraps to a paying customer. As a result, I was forced to throw the entirety of a £50 meal in the bin as I didn’t want to take the risk of getting food poisoning. Definitely won’t be ordering again. 1 star is too generous

Food was utterly disgusting there was so much salt in the food like someone had dropped a whole load of salt. The sweet and sour chicken balls was absolutely disgusting didn’t even taste like chicken. I would never recommend eating here.

I so, so wanted to “find” a great chinese restaurant and the reviews sounded great - The mushrooms in the chowmein were burned to char, the orange juice was bizarrely fizzy, the pineapple in the tofu in satay was seriously off… I mentioned this to the staff but they did not care. Two stars is generous.

Very very bad in quality. I’ve ordered a hot and sours soup. It’s completely sauce inside and the meat was expired, smell and taste nasty and completely out of respect for the customers. Please avoid this Resturent. Waste for the money

Have been coming to Pangs for years, and always get a very warm welcome, great service and excellent food. Like many small businesses, Pangs has worked hard to adapt in recent times, so please support your local Chinese restaurant.

Mixed reviews for pangs overall customizing the meal i hope makes it alot fresher as not keen on the buffet but for the meals i have had they have been good 👍 some improvements could be made but overall i would give them a go.

Original pangs was fantastic.visited here valentines evening.was a set menu but no choice for vegetarian. Normal service apparently from a normal menu.we walked out. There wasn't a single other customer there at 7.30pm. Do not go here. It use to be buffet.

0 stars to this place. We ordered through Deliveroo, spent £50 for 2ppl and all the food went straight to the bin. Absolute TRASH DISGUSTING “food”. Honestly it look like they served us with the leftovers. The food was off, old, dry, with shameful presentation, all the food was dumped. I don’t think this place is safe to eat. They didn’t do anything about it. AVOID ALL COSTS.

T local Chinese restaurant. I love it. It is very accessible says experience as I am a wheelchair user. The food is second to non and I could eat there 7 days a week. Takes orders and bc delivers local and takes reservations. You don’t want to miss an opportunity to eat here 100% Also it is just down the road from Hillingdon tube station so quite easy to find if you are a newcomer to the area,

Confused as to why the won ton soup came with iceberg leaves instead of pakchoi/scallions

We are well known at Pangs and they always look after us. We supported them through lockdown and are pleased this small local business is still operating. Staff friendly, good food, fair prices and a lovely restaurant. This place would be even better if the buffet style option they had prior to Covid could be restarted. We don’t always want a full portion of something, a little taster of everything was always pleasant, and less food waste, too. Maybe this facility could be explored as many restaurants in London’s China Town are offering the buffet meal option.

Had a meal for a birthday, they allowed us to bring a cake in and lit it and sang happy birthday, there is no buffet anymore, but portion sizes are okay

This has to be the best Chinese food in Hillingdon. Food is always fresh and very tasty. So glad they are now doing deliveries as we missed having our regular sit down and take away. Keep safe guys till we meet again.

Great food, great atmosphere, really good value for money, and great staff

Very good! Not bad if you don't want to cook and want something chinese. There are a few things they make better than others, e.g , king prawns in bean sauce. That was just delicious.

Best Chinese of my life, went in a couple weeks back after a long day at chessington. Booked on the phone really easily and were seated in no time after we arrived. We had seen the set menu online and had decided it would be the best deal and with eat out to help out there was really no question. We ordered. The starters came with in five minutes as well as drinks. I was beyond impressed with the starter. The flavours and cooking was impeccable. But we haven’t got to the mains yet. The mains came. Each main on the set menu comes with two Chinese dishes and a generous scoop of rice or noodles. This was plenty for me. Chopsticks were available if your a bit more adventurous like me, or you can is the fork and spoon given. This meal was the best Chinese I have ever had, the meat was cooked perfectly and the noodles were fried to perfection. After that we got a scoop of ice cream to wash it down with your choice of sauce. You can also order extras like duck or crackers with the set menu but just the three courses on their own is plenty. I will definitely be going again when we next have a visit to London.

Apart from the new waitress that attended to us (she was sooo nice), everything apart from that was downhill. 1) food was disgusting. Satay was over fried and dry (it’s meant to be grilled not deep fried). 2) from starters to main took 1hr to arrive. 3) terrible service. I had to ask for the sweet and sour sauce that was supposed to be with my meal (sweet and sour chicken) 4) my satay STARTER came after my mains. It’s supposed to be a starter. 5) my prawn dish didn’t have the intestinal track removed. Disgusting. We left majority of the food and the new waitress felt bad for us. Bless her, honestly. For the restaurant owners, please sort your service and food out.

I was looking for a restaurant to eat after being turned down by Nandos & harvester (who stated I needed to book prior to eat inside). So my partner managed to find this restaurant online. Initially I was Sceptical about dining here because I’m really picky, but I’m grateful that I did. The customer service is 100% and the food is worth it. I would highly recommend.

Great food, Great service. Well maintained and hygienic restaurant. Well cleaned and social distanced seating. The staff attitude is great.They are courteous and helpful. We ordered pork rib, soup, noodles and Sizzlers. All were great and reflected authentic Chinese taste. Overall had a happy experience.

Bought a chicken dish. Got home. Which i found bone in my food. Rang up. There made me drive back to the shop which is a 10 min drive just to give a refund of 4.00. Waste of time. No customer service skills.

Good quality taste food, not a big buffet but has all the favourites, I like that it's freshly cooked in small batches I think that's why it tastes so good, my 4 and 6 six old grandchildren love it, they can reach the food and select what they want. Bonus what they pick them selves they eat. Ice cream to finish is a deal breaker. Enjoy

Met up with friends for a meal to celebrate my birthday , pangs has a good choice of food , so there’s something that everyone will like !! The ribs are especially tasty ! Not to crowded on a week day , and there’s no pressure to rush ! The buffet is great , all self service , and eat as much as you like . A choice of soups , main courses and also toffee banana and ice cream for desert !!! A perfect evening was had by all .

Very easygoing and relaxed atmosphere as you enter and staff gove a nice welcomed smile,service is very nice and friendly,quite popular with a good reputation upheld. The food area is clean and tidy,cooked well and attended regularly. Menu selection is quite plentiful so the palate has a brim to the full range. A very nice cheap and easy meal to over-indulge with for a local place.

Their Pork Lo Mein was very good...Also Peking Ravioli... My next take out, I'll order their Pork Fried rice...

Lovely friendly staff and great food - fresh and tasty - good atmosphere

Whenever we fly out of LHR we always make time the night before to have our favourite meal ever. We have had so many Chinese meals but quite honestly in our view nothing compares with Pangs. The atmosphere is very relaxed, staff very attentive and happy which makes for such an enjoyable evening. In our opinion the food is truly excellent, very tasty and mouth-wateringly refilled continuously. Cant wait for our next visit. Love the meal from beginning to end. Thank you Pangs! Our family love it too.

I have not been to Pangs for a long time and now I know why!! The starters were bareable, but the duck for the pancakes was so dry it was hard to actually eat it, the spoon to put the plum sauce on the pancakes was so hot I could barely hold it. The the main courses were so unappetising I wondered why I went there. The number of people in the restaurant added up to around 10 including me and my friend. I can honestly say that I won't b going back ever.

Went here for my Birthday at lunchtime with a friend, they no longer do the lunchtime buffet which is such a shame as the lunchtime set menu they now have is awful, would not swap a cheeper item on the menu so had to pay extra for it not very accommodating would not go back there again.

FRAUDSTERS sweet corn and crab soup there is NO CRAB in it what so ever I they put shredded white fish sticks when I ask to speak to the owners the manager very rud the food teast stale and luke warm AVOID
