Paneri in Haringey

Ordered sheftalua pork and chicken kebabs. Wish I had not dry tasteless and sheftalia was raw.

Tried to give this place a 2nd chance . But me & my family we’re disappointed.. 1st my meat was to dry .! & I ordered food on Uber eats & my food arrived cold & not edible to eat .! Had to throw away the whole thing waste of money . Wasn’t even offered anything from Uber Eats or the restaurant for this .! Disgusting customer service.😡 This place is not the same as it used to be .! What happened.? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Was recommend by a friend and did not disappoint at all. From the moment I entered the restaurant was greeted nicely by a gentleman behind the counter. Ordered the platter which was recommend by the lovely waiter, after a few bites it tasted wonderful and could tell it was all freshly made could not fault the food at all everything was cooked to perfection. Plenty of food although did not manage to finish it all took leftovers home. If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars I would. Will definitely be coming back next time I am around north London 👍🏽

Went inside with no acknowledgement from the chap who saw me enter a desolate space. I saw a poxy couple of seats. Asked for a pork kebab- the man was short with me and said it would take 30 minutes. I could see the pork was cooking and there was barely anyone there. It’d take 5 to 10 mins 2 minutes down the road. I believe the huge number of reviews for a kebab shop at the end of the Green Lanes stretch is deeply suspicious and suggests to me that they’re fake reviews to prop up the business.

This has nothing to do with Cyprus/Greek food ! This is more likely a typical Turkish restaurant !

Good for a traditional Cypriot kebab.

Lovely atmosphere and top service. The food was awesome too, but it was missing the Greek flavours (oregano, rosemary, garlic), but the food was still tasty because it's freshly cooked.

Paneri Taverna is one of the best restaurant with an mazing range of Cyprus cuisine dishes.Always fresh and delicious food, good prices,friendly and helpful staff with great customer service. If you would like to take away in the evening, I would recommend ordering over the phone in advance due to busy time , o you might need to wait longer than you expected. Love this place for food and customer service.You definitely need to try this restaurant you will love it

This place is TOP TIER. Introduced by a friend who has been visiting for years- best lamb I've EVER had; seasoned to perfection and lovely fatty. Sides are chef's kiss. I went in today and the man who served me from behind the counter was so welcoming and lovely, we talked food ad he smiled the whole time... won me over now nothing will top this place for me. Fresh food, amazing flavours, great hospitality. Try it out.

Ordered for collection, got called a Malakas after being abandoned halfway through an order by an employee. Then when I told them about it, they had smirks and laughs, giving me some utter bull about it being someone else in the background. Food was low quality, chips had been refried, pork and chicken overdone, salad tasted old. Very disappointed as have been ordering from here for years now. Could give no stars if I could.

If you are looking for Cypriot then this is one of the classics in North London. They bring you lots of dips and Pitta to start and everything is grilled perfectly and brought to your table. You won’t leave hungry. The negatives are that it’s pricey and the seating area lacks natural light. Overall though along with Vrisaki and Dionysus it’s one of the ones all North Londoners will recognise as the top Cypriot places.

The best charcoal grill ever. Been going there for their lamb and chicken Souvla for over 20 years.

This used to be the best Cypriot restaurant in North London, but this was a massive let down. The service was poor - one waiter seemingly working alone, who was quite inattentive and dismissive. Also the food was not great. Apart from several usual favourites not coming in the meze (no loukaniko or whelks which used to be included) and to top it off, the meat course was poor. Sheftalia had way too much cinnamon, to the point they almost smelled like desserts, whilst the pork souvlakia was dry and almost inedible. The salad was 99% iceberg lettuce, with barely a drizzle of dressing and was meant to share between 6 people. Overall a massive disappointment from what used to be my favourite restaurant in Wood Green.

Ive never done a review in my life because im not that guy. But after visiting few greek establishments and left feeling very disappointed and even robbed as one place charged me total different price to what was on the menu. I thought Paneri definitely was worth talking about.If you are looking for the best greek meze or genuine good quality greek food. THIS IS THE PLACE. Paneri consistently delivers 10/10 food. Never have i been and food never matched the time before. Such as ive experienced at over rated palces of palmers green and cockfosters. All these swanky places keep openly but sadly can not produce food tasting as good as Paneri. Also on any occasion that i have visited in 17yrs never has the homemade food or Taramasalata or any dips ever changed or tasted different. Be far the best Taramasalata in London.

The guy on the grill needs a pay raise! The chicken kebab was juicy and crispy from outside the best I've ever had! In general the food is good the sausages had a bit of weird taste but all the rest were very good

Had a reservation for two people at 9pm on Saturday night. We got there at 8:55pm and they told us that the kitchen was already closed.

I had the kleftiko, which was served with cyprus potatoes. Also with complimentary giant beans, beetroot, potato salad with an actual salad and hot pitta bread.

Servire ireproșabilă, gazde foarte amabile, mâncarea excelentă. Recomand.

Really good Greek food in a simple taverna style restaurant. The barbecued meats are really tasty. It has some very good Cypriot wines and all at a very fair price.

My son is a frequent visitor to Paneri and he always raves about it. Joined him this evening, the meat was good, rice, salad, pittas, starters all good. Service was excellent, friendly staff.

This place used to be one of the best in North London for takeaway and eat in. I was introduced by my wife eleven years ago and the Paneri was a regular for date night and takeaway. However visited for Mother's Day and the owner's rudeness and general attitude to his customers was unnecessary and unacceptable. Will not return again.

First of all - loved the food. Second - seemed like the staff enjoyed their jobs. And third - the vibe was awesome!

Partner used to eat here regularly so suggested to collect a take away to eat at home after a busy day. He orderd Kleftico with potatoes and I ordered Stifado. Both meals were luke warm, not even hot and we only travelled 3 minutes by car to home. The stifado was one of the worse I have ever tasted, certainly not fresh and I guess it had been frozen and warmed up. Not a traditional Greek dish at all, very bland, VERY greasy and (not just by looking at it but by taste, you know when your lips slide together afterwards, YUCK!!!) Lamb was tasty but the only thing out of the meal that was Such a shame, used to be such a nice restaurant. Will not be returning for with sit down or take away meal.

After travelling for 2hrs to get there was anticipating a good meal but was very disappointed meat was dry salad had no taste olives were over salty Baklava had pistachio shell inside still and I was charged a good fair price for this inadequate meal very disappointed will never return again

Lovely taverna with awesome greek food. You must try the dolmades which are freshly made, and their sheftalies are the best in london. Been going for over a year and every time they are top quality.

Highly recommend the pork kebabs and the sheftalia. Never kept waiting and food always consistently good.

If you're looking for really authentic Cypriot food, you will love Paneri. The bourgouri, chicken souvla and sheftalia were great. Order your souvla in advance.

Greek traditional food. Sharing platters and meals served with your choice of beverage. The food is delicious, the friendly environment makes you feel like home, quick service and prices are kept low. It is a place I would be a regular at.

Lovely traditional cypriot greek food very well priced

Top top food. Tasty meat cooked on real fire. Amazing service and atmosphere. Authentic Greek and Cypriot cuisine. Amazing value for money for under £60 me and a friend ate and drank like Kings.

What happened? This used to be my favourite restaurant, looks like another person who is not a Cypriot has taken the helm. He’s a penny pincher. He’s obsessed the quantity of what you’ve ordered. If you don’t order what he thinks is enough, he will ignore you and not even give you the complementary Meze as he will feel cheated. What a shame as his attitude really spoils what was one of the best Cypriot restaurants outside of Cyprus!

We didn't order for the meze and the charge us also 44 pound for one mix grill and it was so small the plate.never go again

Very good food and taste meat but 2stars because it was very expensive without any reason the meat plater for 2 it was 22per person and also they put 12.50 for starters that we didnt order at all we thought it was the traditional "free" meze but it wasnt ... So if you see any meze without asking in your table you have to pay for everything...!!!

I ordered a KLEFTIKO today and ended up paying more than £20.00 for a Turkish style one with tomato sauce rather than the Greek traditional one, I could of got that for £8.50 and saved me a hell of a lot. Sad I won’t be going back anymore I have nothing against Rumania and Rumanian people it’s the style of food and quality I have a problem with.

I'm a regular customer here and I've always loved the quality and the traditional Cypriot recipes as a Cypriot myself. However l ordered today and was shocked to find that my keftedes were horrible. They were too salty, raw in the middle, and overcooked and greasy on the outside. I think the oil must have been old and on a higher heat than usual. The souvlas were decent, not as good as usual but edible, and I am upset that the quality has dropped since the new management/owners have come.

Got to be one of the best Greek restaurants the owner only sells Welsh or Irish lamb and when he can't get it he doesn't sell it the taste is fantastic the seasoning is just right not like some places where they pull the the lamb chops or whatever straight out of the fridge and put it on the grill taste so bland you can't eat it this is totally different nice clean friendly if you're looking for glamour don't go but if you're looking for Good Food this is the place

Good food quality!! No cheap neither expensive...big portions!!

First visit to Paneri Taverna and I really enjoyed it. The concept is that you order a main dish (mainly grilled meats) and it will be served with 'free' meze. This consists of things like olives, beetroot, potato salad etc. The meze was really nice. The main will come with bulgur wheat (a bit like rice), Greek style cubed chips (really nice) l, a fresh salad and your main of choice. We had the lamb souvla and sheftalia (pork a bit like a sausage) and both were excellent. The service is friendly and efficient. They sell a range of wines and Leo, a Greek beer.

Update: 2022 Visted this lovely little place, and again good, service and value absolutely fantastic! Any bad reviews, I honestly believe are from rival places. Fantastic place absolutely brilliant been going there for years thank you Bambos is brilliant as all staff are very well mannered

BEST north London traditional Greek restaurant I have ever tasted!

Who writes these reviews for this restaurant. If you want to be dissatisfied with the food then please come here. Honestly the chicken was the only half decent things on the plate. Prices are more expensive if you eaten inn. Chips were cubes of potatoes so if anyone coming here with kids be warn kids will won’t be happy here. Rice was awful and it seemed to me that it was reheated. I wish I taken a photo to add here now to show you/everyone what I mean. I would not recommend this place at all but please see for yourself.

When there about a month ago had the messy it was great the chefs the staff everyone neighbour so friendly and helpful had a great time

Don’t go . They deliberately get orders wrong and give you meat tht actually stinks !!! Myself and my friend wouldn’t feed tht to a dog . Meat that is well past it’s sell by date . Why would anyone do that !?!?!? A disgrace is what it is . Can’t give no stars otherwise I would . Tht place should be shut down

If you take away it's fine but if you dine in it's literally double priced. I understand that you are charged more, nut not DOUBLE! Nice chicken souvla but the bulgur or the dolmadaki were clearly frozen.

Tried so many meze places over the years, but this place is just amazing. The food just keeps coming and coming with flavours out of this world. If you go and have a full meze, don’t have no lunch.

The meze is an enormous quantity of food. The theme is certainly quantity over quality, so come if you're hungry. On the mixed meze some things are delicious, others okay and a small amount of things you'd wish they'd rather not put on the table. It's a simple restaurant with a nice vibe. A nice wine list and very energetic and friendly waiters which was probably the highlight

Huge portions of delicious food. This was my first experience of a Greek restaurant and I will definitely return. The staff were friendly too so I felt very welcome.

Don’t like the food. Wasn’t tasty and was too expensive as well.

I loved the meze that they do. Lots of variety and cooked to a high standard. A good variety and the portions were very good. Price for what we had was reasonable. Its a small place so you do need to book but the staff were terrific and the ambience of the place good. We enjoyed it and this meze did have the wow factor. We will be coming back again. Lovely place and well worth it.

After reading the reviews on here, I got all excited as I was expecting a traditional Cypriot meze and to my dissapointment what we had was nothing but. Ordered the meat meze which for some weird reason had more fish in it that meat (literally). The amount of food was massive and well cooked to be honest but that's about it. People here posting comments like "amazing cypriot meze" clearly have never visited Cyprus to know what meze is all about. I wish I could give zero stars for this review.

Had high hopes for this but it's terrible. I was excited to try traditional Cypriot food, which I'm extremely familiar with, but this is anything but. We ordered the meat meze and got what felt like mass produced starters and dips from any wholesaler, poor quality shellfish, including frozen kalamari rings, (that really shouldn't have been part of the meat meze), and finally a tiny meat platter with two skewers of tough and tasteless souvlaki, two sheftalia and two chicken thighs. Not what I'd expect to get for £30 a head. Simply inedible!

The decor is a bit old but the food is quality, if you’re looking for traditional good Cypriot food in north London I would recommend it

Authentic Cypriot food, delicious very friendly staff. Food served clean and professionally, cooking style is exactly Cypriot style, different than the regular high street kebab shops this restaurant sells what they eat as well. Prices are ridiculous expensive honestly not necessarily Prices are higher than what it should be, i say what it should be because I know catering business very well. For example meat 🍖 🙄 even the most expensive one on market( which definitely is not the one they use) even the most expensive meat if they buy they shouldn't sell it 5 times more expensive for per 100gr. To eat fish there omg you will need to get loan from bank. Over all this is the most tasty and most expensive restaurant around the are.

Visited this taverna based on reviews and I was sadly disappointed. Despite being there 90 mins after opening i had to wait 20mins, to collect my takeaway. The meal was just stale plate of meat and potatoes that had been reheated. It was an expensive mistake. None of the usual warm greek welcome I have become accustomed to. I will not revisit. A really poor sunday lunch experience.

No decent Greek Restaurants/Take away near me so I do visit this place regularly . Lovely place to eat in or take away but on my last visit, I ordered Pasticchio ( Makaroni/Pasta in the Oven ) I compared it with Tesco's Shepherd's Pie as I needed a magnifying glass to find the pasta. It was mostly mince with a heavy layer of cream. Come on Paneri you can do better than that. Everything else is A1. Will still visit you.
