We ate here one night it was very quiet the food was good but wine list very limited. Friendly atmosphere and food price was very reasonable

Just visited with Mrs B, had the banquet B for 2. Really nice food with great service. Young person served our table, impeccable service 10/10 from me and mrs B. We booked our table via the website (directed to messenger) replied quick. Staying at Ruthin castle, less than 10 minutes walk to the Chinese. Identifying the location of the restaurant entrance in the dark we found difficult and asked the chap in the antique shop over the road. Really nice evening.

Went here last night, place totally overcrowded with Chinese kids shouting and playing cards all night. Couldn't hear yourself speak. Thought it was supposed to be a restaurant, but turned out to be a Community Hall basically.Stay well clear of this place at weekends. Food also very overpriced, probably because no other Chinese restaurant in the town.But the noise was well over the top. Won't be going back there for a while.

Good food, good value, friendly and very helpful young waiter, we ordered a banquet for 4, although there were five of us, and he brought an extra bowl of soup for the fifth person.Premises a bit weird... an upstairs dining room that was unlike any Chinese restaurant I have ever visited. It's clear that their main business is Take-away, but we had a good dining experience.

We always enjoy a visit to The Panda Garden. Food is tasty, service great and atmosphere relaxed. Thoroughly recommend a visit here!

Enjoyed a meal for two here. Looks very dated. Also looked like it was going to rubbish but we were hungry. However it was decent food.

Sorry to say that this was the worst Chinese meal I've had in my entire life.The positives..... the egg fried rice was nice. I ordered chow Mein, which is usually fried soft noodles with beansprouts, onions and a smattering of soy sauce. This came out with no beansprouts, but instead what looked like Chinese lettuce, baby corn and brocolli all mixed together with some gloopy, gelatinous, tasteless sauce. Unrecognisable from what I normally have. I assumed they had got the order wrong and given me chopsuey instead, but they said this was how chow Mein came. The waitress did take it away and add a few beansprouts but it was just tasteless and awful. I left most of it as the gloopy sauce was going cold and beginning to conjeal around the edge of the plate. I ate the fried rice.Husband didn't enjoy his meal either.

I had a lovely dish, vegetables in black bean sauce. The sauce was rich, good portion that was very filling. I really enjoyed my meal however my husband didn’t enjoy his as much, so we compromised on a 3rating. We must have visited on a quiet night, we were the only ones in the restaurant, therefore there was little atmosphere.The staff were friendly and the price was reasonable.

ALL RUDE ARGENT & LAZY stood there on there phones then eventually they took my order and got 3 meals out of 4 completely wrong think the must have tweeted it or thought it would be funny and to top it all off it was cold, Then when we went to pay there was no apology and tried to charge me for something I didn’t even order, wouldn’t recommend!!!!Show lessDate of visit: May 2019

Welcome people this is a place I would not recommend in a visit or order from based on our order experience. They are completely Rude on the phone, when I complained about food they suddenly don’t understand!!!! I ordered the food we ordered what we wanted and was not expecting it not there and then to be told it was there why would I phone you then...... A photo will be added of the order and they even ticked off what was packed and clearly was wrong, They even serve half portions now if your hungry this is not what you want to see..... I was told that it was correct and I had to bring it back myself and they would look at it what’s is the point in ordering the food when they can’t even deliver one simple order... I hope you take my advise on this matter as wouldn’t want anymore disappointment avoid at all costs............

Price of the food gone up, portions got smaller due to plate sizing being smaller.

Visited here whilst staying at Woodlands Hall and the food was excellent, both in taste and portion size. So def return custom when back in the area. Many Thanks keep up the excellent food.

Great little takeaway! Quite tricky to find and park - head to the police station and its opposite in the big open courtyard.

I had the sweet and sour chicken with boiled rice and vegetable spring rolls it was amazing and my friend had a chicken chow mein, it was delicious

This place used to be great, but now the service is awful. There are so many school children in there from China and sit in the restaurant nearly all night,taking up seating. So hard to not let them in but management need to move them on after they have finished meal. Standard of food is excellent though.

I ate here on my own as I was travelling alone and my hotel restaurant next door was full. The takeaway part was very busy when I arrived and there seemed to be just one lady taking phone orders and dealing with restaurant guests so I had to wait a while to be seated.

We ordered a birthday meal for home delivery from panda garden at 9pm and were told 40minutes. That was fine not a problem with that. At 10.30pm still waiting so we rang to ask where the food is. Delivery driver got lost on previous call. He’s on his way there in 10minutes. 11pm hmm no sign. We rang back and told it’s on its way so should be there any minute now. 11.30pm we rang again and told 5 minutes. 11.45pm still nothing. Rang back no answer they had clearly just closed and gone. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. If we had known we were being fobbed off we would have gone elsewhere. Advice don’t touch delivery service with a barge pole. We went to bed hungry and disappointed. Birthday ruined.

Although it was a Friday night we had the whole place to ourselves, the take away side was very busy.

He estado viniendo aquí por unos 8 años casi 9, y nada ha cambiado, la comida y el servicio ha permanecido en un nivel increíblemente alto, sinceramente, nunca deja de me decepcionó, el propietario que no siempre la waitressing extremadamente agradable.

Mi familia y yo uso este Chino en las raras ocasiones de llevar. Nunca tuve ningún problema normalmente, sin embargo, esta noche me llamó mi pedido a través de la entrega (vivimos a 10 minutos desde el restaurante) en la 5. 30:00 y me dijeron que tardarian una hora como máximo. 7:00 se acercaba y no había entrega, peldaño a preguntar donde mi pedido y la señora dijo que era de dos minutos. 7. 20:00 venían y aún no hay comida, así que nuevamente, el peldaño señora fue muy grosero y pasó el teléfono a otro miembro del personal, terminamos yendo a recoger nuestra comida, ya que estábamos cansados de esperar. Tuvimos 20% de descuento en la comida, sin embargo este servicio ha significado que han perdido el interés al cliente y que no volveremos.

Pedimos una comida para llevar, tuvimos que esperar alrededor de 90 minutos, sin embargo, no fue molestado de la espera (significa que están ocupados, lo cual es una buena señal). Entrega llegó caliente, las chicas que entregaron fue muy cortés.

Great place, Hidden gem. Cheap and cheerful. Large menu and great service. Eat there 2-3 times a month

Arriba Un ambiente agradable complementado con la comida y el servicio es igual de buena. He oído de la gente que vale la pena pedir comida para llevar, en realidad vimos numerosos llevar comidas de ser recogido. Volveremos a por más.

Nice food but expect a long wait for your food. It's a Chinese restaurant so it is understandable I suppose. Food is great though!

Really enjoy dining in this restaurant, lovely Chinese food and outstanding value for money. Have visited many times as well as using the delivery service and have not been disappointed. Friendly, attentive staff within a very welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Hard place to find since the sign blew down a couple of moths ago apparently. I don't know why this place is not a success since it's right in the middle of town. Staff don't seem to care sit around on the sofas etc. But why?? It's a potentially good business. Anyway my food was oily greasy and tasteless. But don't give up on this place tell them to get better. Id love a good Chinese in Ruthin but currently it's just not good enough - sorry!

Whilst staying in the area on holiday we popped into the Panda Garden for a takeaway. After making 2 requests, one that we swap our boiled rice for fried rice and two that they leave out the onion BOTH these requests were ignored, They then took 40 mins (Monday and an empty restaurant).

Went here for what we hoped would be a very nice evening meal on a Friday evening, grubby stair carpet leading up to the restaurant, not very inviting, but we were hungry, only 2 other people dining when we arrived & another couple later, but did seem to be doing a lot of takeaways, although there was some draught beers on the menu, the only one they had was called Pandora? ( note the name of the restaurant,) lol I asked who brewed it , but the lady/owner didn't know, it tasted crap. some of the food served was ok but the fried rice was crap, I think it was probably warmed up from another day,it looked & tasted like it, most of the Rice was left.Good luck to other customers dining there.

Empty. Staff more interested in taking phone orders despite being the only table needing to be seen to. Nothing vegetarian on menu. Very oily starters. Stale Prawn crackers. Made me a veggie dish... Tasteless slop. Didn't eat it. Husbands dish... Ok but nothing to write home about

Hidden away in Ruthin is a delightful Chinese restaurant. We ordered the Panda special fried rice, the chicken with seasonal vegetables and sizzling beef Cantonese style. From the bottom up, the sizzling beef was tasty and sizzling, but a little saltish and probably the least impressive dish on offer given it was most expensive and smallest in meat (but plenty of onions and sauce, no other vegetables). The chicken with seasonal vegetables was tasty and in line with expectations however whilst there was plenty of chicken meat, the variety of vegetables was a bit limited so don't order this if you want lots of vegetables. Finally the big surprise of all was the house special fried rice which included chicken, pork, roast duck and prawn... in a separate dish on top of the fried rice! We thought they had delivered the chicken with seasonal vegetables with the rice but after inquiring why we had so many plates, we realised that the fried rice actually came in two plates making it a delight and great value. It was the tastiest dish, had a great variety of vegetables in the dish, and the fried rice even on it's own was great. Would highly recommend this.Unfortunately the restaurant was a little quiet (i.e. we were the only people there) and the staff member seemed a little occupied with telephone orders but overall no complaints as she was very friendly and helpful. The chilli was refilled promptly and she had initiative to bring extra tea cup for my wife who had not ordered a drink. Must also be noted that this restaurant offered exceptional value at GBP 25.5 for the three dishes and tea. Hard to argue with this price. Highly recommended to visitors (and it's also very close to walk from the castle).

Recently went here to try the local Chinese restaurant. Had a chicken foo Young, Was lovely. Really enjoyed it and will go again.

Although some of the reviews were rather negative, decided to give it a try and very glad we did. Restauarant is hidden away upstairs in a little mews and quote hard to find. Service was very pleasant and not rushed which was a nice change. There were a few tables occupied which gave it some atmosphere. Menu choices are excellent and very good value. Only negative was that they didn't have any draught lager, only bottled. Would recomment and will return next time we are in Ruthin,

I didn't experience the food because I couldn't find the restaurant. I think it must have closed. If, indeed, it has, then it should be deleted from Tripadvisor and save a lot of people a lot of time!

Food was cold and late; even had to phone up because it was nearly an hour late. Coincidently came 5 minutes after. I would understand if I lived far away but I live down the road so the food must've been cold when it left the restaurant. Nice food but no good as it was cold. Cold chicken. Not good. Used to be my favourite takeaway but has somehow gone downhill since my last food order! disappointed to say the least. Even debated whether to microwave the food.

Tonight we ordered a takeaway at 7.50pm and were told that it would be 30-40mins which was fine. After an hour we rang back and was told it was on its way. It then took another 15 mins to arrive ( which is literally a 3 min walk). Once we got the food there was stuff missing so we had to ring back again! Then then said they "will cook it now". Overall it took over an hour and a half to get the food we ordered!! There was no apology and/or discounts either.The food was nice but I thought the service was disgusting. If it was a busy fri/sat night I wouldn't have minded but it was a dead Sunday night.

Set in an old building of great historical interest the restaurant is typically dressed accordingly.We went for one of the set meals for two which i have to say every course was delicious especially the duck though i had to settle for chicken n sweetcorn soup which was v nice but please give me a hot n sour option!The service was good by a young lady who has been working there 10yrs every cedit

Have not used for a while but when we did food was good, staff where friendly still hearing good reports.

Absolutely terrible food ! Starter and duck where fine but got to main course and the prawns where totaly gone ! The smell was horrendous ! Me and my girlfriend didn't finish our main course and left immidietaly service was also terrible !

I ordered a delivery at 7.30pm, I was told it would be with me in an hour. At 8.45pm I still hadn't received the order. I contacted them to which they told me it would be with me in one minute, the driver had just left. 9pm arrived and the order was still not there! I contacted them once again. I was then told again that he was on his way and would be with me in 5 minutes. Bearing in mind that I live a 5 minute drive from the restaurant I told them I had heard it before. The order finally arrived at the house at 9.15pm - 1 hour and 45 minutes after I ordered! The food that arrived was ok but greasy and at that time of night we had gone past wanting it. Will not be rushing in ordering from there again!

The food was not up to standard, was full of onions the meat was just fat. The member of staff who served us had an awful attitude. Survive was poor and food took two hours to come. People who came in after us got food before us which we believe to be racial discrimination cause the staff were of asian origin. Members of staff forced people to like then on facebook. I will not be going to this restaurant again as it was a waste of money.

Me and my family went here tonight for my mums 50th birthday meal, the service was absolutely amazing!! The lovely lady put banners up last minute for us and my younger nephew ended up being sick all over the restaurant before we had our meal and the lady went out of her way to find a top for him to wear, really can't thank you enough, your hostess skills are second to none!! Thankyou all very much for your excellent service and great food, will most deffinatly be returning :-)

Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in the area, lovely staff, a lovely setting and beautiful Chinese food. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the area with a hankering for noodles!

As I enter, I'm fascinated by the small odd building that's right in the middle of this lovely town. It's a quirky old building and do not expect to see the wonderful lay out with old beams, complemented by the red table cloths. It's very cold so wrap up, but they tell me the building is old! My partner and I ordered a mixture to share, almost like a banquet like they serve for very reasonable price! The duck was cooked to perfection, we ordered a quarter, but could definitely go for the half next time. For main, king prawns in black pepper (a wonderful tastebud surprise)! Sizzling fillet steak, sweet and sour ribs and Malaysian fried rice. Definite complements to the chef.The staff don't seem very bothered, but it's understanding as it was so quiet. After eating there, I think I would definitely start ordering the odd take out every few weeks! I would go again, but wear alot more! An ideal place to have a larger table as it seems the perfect place for a family meal. It's a shame the don't offer any buffet nights.

Cold and unwelcoming, If you like onions then you will be really happy as every meal is bulked out with them and not much more.Much better take aways and better places to eat than here

The food here is pretty good. We visited a few time recently in a group and never had any problems and the food has always been served reasonably quickly (always a little bit of a problem with a group) and the quality has been fine.The décor is a bit outdated but it is pleasant enough. The service is good and they are always willing to help with choices if needed.I would recommend it and we will certainly go back again.

Food excellent an very nice portions, only let down is service bit slow but if you like a rest in between courses an make a night of it it's great as there is no rush :)) staff quite pleasant enough but could do with a bit better customer service. Overall a pleasant evening an luvly food.

This is weird, but, if you have a meal in the restaurant it is generally ok, quite tasty, but if you ordered this meal to take away, it is awful, and I think it must be down to the containers or they change the ingredients slightly?? I do not know why this is, but I cannot eat the take away food from here. OK for a sit down though.

Ordered a take away, when it came one dish wasn't right. We often order from them and never have a problem usually. when I called to explain they had sent the wrong dish it wasn't at all their fault and they weren't prepared to exchange it or apologise. we have our works xmas party there too and it certainly won't be happening this year. I was extremely shocked by the attitude and the way I was dealt with.

Went for a meal with friends and opted for buffet D £56 for 4, it started with soup, then crispy fried duck, then 5 meals with a very large bowl of special fried rice, it was delicious and unless you're a big eater doubt you'll get through it. Well presented and good service too, staff really attentive. Will certainly be visiting again when next in the area.

We had a take-away from here last week. Nice looking restaurant and good atmosphere if you're eating in.Food was OK, didn't think it was anything special but good portions and reasonable prices.

Panda Garden is located near to Ruthin town centre,upstairs in a sort of shopping centre.The food is delicious and very reasonably priced.We have only had takeaways,not eaten in,but the waiting area is luxurious compared to most Chinese takeaways!Comfy sofas and magazines to read.

Efficient service with good food, piping hot, with generous portions, and well-cooked. Good value for money. Would definitely eat here again.

I have visiting for take a away for many years now, always very friendly with a nice seating area, the order is always correct and the food of a good standard.

We have visited here with the children and they have no problem finding something they like. Service is good, food is good and value good.

Good choice of menu. We have eaten in and have had Take Aways. Always well cooked - good portions. Pleasant staff. You have to climb a flight of stairs to reach the restaurant. The dining area is large with comfortable seats.

i eat here all the time, the Chinese students at Ruthin school all eat here so it must be good, well worth a visit, excellent food.

After reading terrible reviews of this restaurant on here we proceeded with caution and didn't have any expectations but we were pleasantly surprised. This is the best Chinese restaurant in Ruthin, i'm willing to say it's the best restaurant in Ruthin even! We asked for MSG free meals (malaysian fried rice, sweet and sour chicken,) and got exactly that, MSG free meals and in abundance. Everything was delicious and generous, and prices were really fair. Fabulous quiet restaurant, a lovely experience altogether!

I visited this Chinese hoping to get a nice sit down meal with my family, it was far from it! By the time the food actually got out it was freezing and was very bland, we also had our food before our drinks!! There is lots of dust around and the toilets were not clean atall, I was very disappointed with there service and would not recommend it to anyone.

We have been to this restaurant and had their food delivered a number of times. The food is always tasty and served hot (temp), the service is good and the staff very friendly. The restaurant can be a bit chilly in winter but that's only to be expected considering its in an old listed building.The deliveries can sometimes take a little bit longer than advised... but the food is defo worth the wait.... and we're not in any hurry.PS... oh yeah forgot to mention.... if you're a veggie... they do bean curd... Hooray!!

ordered our food which we were told would be an hour, two hours later it came with parts of our order missing which then they brought the missing orders another two hours later. it was cold, dry and soggy. Would never recommend to anyone.

This is a good chinese restaurant, but although the food is good, it's not great. I suggest a sit down meal, as the take away food all seems bland to taste. It is good value, and service is very good.

Had two meals at this restaurant over the three nights we recently stayed in Ruthin. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and found it to be good value. Staff were friendly and service very good. Restaurant was a bit chilly and décor could be better, but we didn't find this spoilt our experience.

Had a meal here with my partner whilst staying in Ruthin. I don't know what the poor reviewers ordered however our meal was fab..the best Chinese I've had in year..The soup was excellent as was the duck and sizzling chicken. The service was excellent and the decor - well lets say 'quirky'..The price was great and the restaurant was nice and warm on a cold November night..If in the area, give it a go and make your own mind up..

Just moved to the area and we thought we'd try the local chinese well what a mistake the food was bland and had no flavour it was full of msg and covered in grease we won't be going back

Read previous reviews and must have been unlucky. Starter. Horrible, frozen and reheated. Main. Not too bad. The place was freezing cold. Really unpleasant experience and slow service. The place could be lovely without all the tatty decor, warm it up and improve the quality of the food.

Our first night in the area we fancied something quick. So we saw this Chinese being in a small rural area we were not sure what to expect. Oh my gosh this exceeded expectations it was amazing. We got the set meal for 2 and it was amazing value for the price. The soup was the best I ever tasted and well I cannot speak highly enough if it. It is really a shame that we didn't eat in. I am gutted that we live so far away otherwise I would be back so much sooner!!!

We use this restaurant to fulfill our takeaway craving. The food is always delicious and ready for pick up. The staff are always very friendly and accomodating. We have never eaten in but it always looks rather quiet. We would highly recomend as a takeaway option for the Ruthin area.

Have never been disappointed with the meal at Panda Gardens. Their service is fantastic and the food great. We will be back!

Very good food and the staff are friendly. The only downside, you have to go up stairs and the takeaway section is adjacent to the restaurant.

Other reviews of this restaurant have mentioned a high level of MSG and poor food. We had the opposite experience - tasty, hot food in generous proportions. We dined here on a quiet Sunday evening, although there seemed to be plenty of takeaway business, we were the only seated diners. As can be imagined, the staff were attentive - we were well looked after. The menu is quite basic with few regional specialties and no unusual dishes. We ordered Fillet steak with black pepper sauce, Satay sizzling chicken and Cantonese style chicken. 2 diners in our party ordered a good value £12 banquet for 3 courses: more than enough food for a hearty meal, including crispy duck pancakes, with the duck shredded at the table by our waiter and a chicken and sweetcorn soup. The chicken and sweetcorn soup and the Cantonese main were both very glutinous - perhaps too much so for some diners but my companions reported it to be tasty. The Cantonese sauce was slightly disappointing - a very safe and somewhat bland sweet and sour-ish dish. The satay chicken was tasty but heavily satayed. The highlight was definitely the black pepper fillet steak which was delicious and well cooked. Definitely worth it if you enjoy a spiced pepper sauce.None of us could taste an over abundance of MSG in our meals, and the prices were very reasonable for mains and drinks.The decor is somewhat strange - Chinese Tudor I believe it's best described as - but not dirty or dusty as some have previously reported - quite pleasant, with linen napkins and tablecloth.We would eat here again when we next crave a no-frills hearty Chinese meal in pleasant surroundings.

Excellent service with plenty of good food. Very reasonably priced banquet menu. We had a banquet for four and every dish had its own distinctive taste. Only complaint was that there was too much food and we had to leave some!

The food was acceptable, and the service ok, but nothing in particular stood out about this restaurant. Interior seemed grimy too which was a little disconcerting.

we went to the Panda Garden after arriving in Ruthin late and couldnt find anywhere else to eat.There were only myself & my hubby in the restaurant which felt quite strange as it is very big. The food we ordered was extremely good and we really enjoyed it and I am sure that it gets busier on the weekends (we went on a thursday night)

We ate here last year when staying at plas efenychtyd B and B. we were served by a rather over exuberant waitress. But better to have a waitress who is too chatty than than one who is rude or uninterested! The variety of food offered was better than average and I was impressed by the fact they offered a vegetarian set menu, which is not all that common. The quality of the food was broadly average but the portions were bigger than I expected so in my opinion the restaurant offers very good value for money.

We came to Ruthin for the weekend and again ate the delights of the above restaurant it is situated in the heart. of the town. The food is amazing, the service excellent and all authentic cantanese staff who own the restaurant. The tables are well spaced out with proper table cloths and serviettes which is not always available in restaurant these days. This is the third visit and all have which been most enjoyable. they also do a take away service which i have not used but sure it must be as good. I would definately recommend.

Visited the restaurant on a bitterly cold Thursday night in December and we the only two people in the restaurant, so totally devoid of atmosphere. Food was just about adequate,although some items felt cold. Whilst the furnishings and paintwork had seen better days. Unlikely to return if I am in the area again.

Nothing distinguishes the Panda Garden from any other Chinese restaurant you have ever been to in any small town. The food had too much monosodium glutamate in everything for me and was all too gooey and I like Chinese food!

If you want to eat something other than European food on a Monday evening in Ruthin....Panda Garden is your best bet.Not an obvious presence in town but the staff are really friendly.The menu is varied and the food is piping hot!Lovely!

Yes the food is delicious but it's not worth the stomache ache you have the next day as they've been awarded a food hygiene rating of 2.

We had a lovely two course meal with friends. The food was all very tasty and the service was superb. Friendly staff making it all the better. Decent size place for larger groups.No complaints, would certainly eat here again in the future.

Although there were two large parties already there when we arrived we received good service and the food arrived quickly, it was of a good standard.

Once you work out how to get in - we'd seen the signs at the back on a walk but didn't realise you went in through the door to the few shops - the food was really nice, a good choice. The downside was no draft beers/lagers and it was quite cool in the large room. There was only one other diner there at the same time and me and my husband which was a shame for the owners!

Visited here during our stay at the Manorhaus just down the road. Went on a Sunday and the restaurant was very quiet. The waitresses were very attentive and the food was excellent. We had Salt and Pepper ribs and chicken lettuce wraps to start followed by a chicken curry and garlic chicken. With 2 drinks the meal cost £31. Great food and great value, could do to advertise a big more as its definitely worth a visit.

We enjoyed our meal here. Had the set meal for under £15 each which was excellent value. More food than we really needed. It was fairly standard stuff but it was tasty and the service was friendly and attentive.

Other than a nearby hotel, this was the only sit down restaurant we could find open in Ruthin.The night we visited it was very quiet, only one other party of dinners, however the staff were very attentive and the food was good, we were made to feel very welcome and should we be passing by again we wouldn't hesitate to eat here.
