Panama Hatty`s in Cheshire East

Had a great night catching up with a friend I've not seen for a while. I last came to Panama hatties almost 25 years ago, for me it hasn't changed with regards to service and food.... Fantastic service, food and cocktails. Hope to come back again soon.

We arrived for my son’s, 21st birthday get together. Lovely atmosphere/ambience, and nice cocktails, but that is as far as it went. The starters were okay, but none of us had what we thought was a decent main course. The majority ordered steak, and they were all quite well undercooked. The majority were almost rare, but considering two people ordered medium to well done, they messed this up. Unfortunately, none of the guests wanted to make a scene due to it being a special birthday. My wife ordered the skewered chicken kebab, which looked nice, but only had three pieces of chicken on! The waiting on staff, we’re also pretty useless. When six people on the table of eight, order steak, but with different cooking preferences/sides/sauces, you will expect the waiter, not just to say, “who is having the steak”. We had to ask the waiter several times, what he was saying, as we could not hear him. After placing our last round of drinks, and after 10 minutes of receiving 6 of the 8 drinks, we had to remind them that we are still waiting for a wine and a coffee! 10 minutes later, we got the wine, then had to remind the waiter again that we are still waiting for a coffee! 25 minutes from ordering one coffee to be placed on the table! Very disappointed

Very special evening and made even more special by the incredible service and food provided by the team at Tarporley. Beginning to end it was seamless. 10 of us including 2 vegans and 1 vegetarian and all food exceptional! Thank you to the whole team!

Overpriced and average food. Very underwhelming experience. The young ladies waiting were pleasant and the there is good parking available. Avoid the salt and pepper chicken wings. Drenched in salt, not palatable. The platter is not really a platter either not as you would expect anyway. Quite a limited choice. Won’t be back.

I really enjoyed our evening. Food was really good and thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails. Service was spot on. The restaurant setting was lovely and we look forward to returning soon.

Booked for a family meal for 7 of us as husband and daughter’s birthday on same day as always great staff and attentive. Food was delicious some had the chicken burrito delicious and very filling, one opted for vegan fajitas and the others the burgers. Took our own birthday cake which the lovely waitress bought out with candles on and plates and a knife. Thanks for a lovely evening. Don’t go very often normally for a birthday event but it’s a lovely place to go!

Came here for valentines night and it was gorgeous! I really want to point out the amazing service by the waitress (dark hair, amazing heart nails, sorry I don’t know her name) as she was so kind and sweet, very efficient also - made my night. The food is delicious, and the drinks were amazing!

Came here family of 5, beautiful restaurant decor was lovely with tasteful Christmas decorations to enhance. The food was lovely ribs and wings platters really nice, I had a rib eye steak beautifully cooked and tasty, although slightly tougher than I expected but not a fault of the cooking it didn’t stop me finishing it. Service staff some seemed young but obviously by the quality of their service well trained and really polite they were first class thank you

Excellent service this evening. Great atmosphere and great food. Huge and tasty puddings - would recommend the toffee pudding and chocolate fudge cake. Overall a very good experience.

We visited with 4 friends, ill start by saying the food was tremendous. Service was quite slow however, and drinks took a little while to come out as did our chips after our main cause came out. Hoping this was just a one off blip (we all have them) and will definately be back

Having not long moved to the area we hadn’t visited before taking our daughter and friend for a meal before they left for Melbourne. Every single thing make for a lovely evening. The friendly greeting, the excellent and varied menu, the beautifully cooked and presented food. All the staff we met were polite and friendly. The table was roomy so we didn’t feel squashed in. Spacious dining room with aircon but lovely cosy places too. Can’t praise highly enough and will certainly be making this a regular venue. Did I mention the food was reasonably priced too so no worries about that either.

They excelled themselves today always a great meal and service,the ribs are the best around same quality from the what’s cooking days in Heswall going back 40 years now 👍

We stayed in Peckforton Castle however the Brasserie was closed for a private function so we decided to visit a local restaurant for dinner. We decided on Panama Hatty's to celebrate date night and being child-free for the weekend and we could not have been further impressed. We are super happy we chose to visit here over a couple of the gastropubs which were on offer nearby. Whilst the food menu was not necesserily extensive, it still offerred plenty of choice to choose from and both my husband and I were undecisive over a couple of the mains on offer. On the other hand, if you love a cocktail (which I do), you will be spoilt for choice. The food was so delicious and the cocktails were expertly made! Waitresses were all super friendly and willing to help. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely atmosphere and fabulous service.

Supposedly a birthday treat but I definitely would not describe it as that. Service was quick to start almost to quick I mean 3 minutes for 2 starters to appear on table which means they were microwaved to perfection. Now 6 minutes later the mains appeared. I ordered the chicken kebab and the chicken was so dry and chewy it clearly had been cooked earlier and re heated so I did complain and got the meal replaced. The replacement meal I went for butternut squash curry as I didn’t trust the cooking of chicken and to my surprise was a hair on the bread! Absolutely shocking! The manager wasn’t the most apologetic and I thought the level of service for a establishment like that was atrocious. We will definitely not be returning

Went there for our child’s christening. Had an area for our c.30 guests, mixed adults, kids & babies. The staff were absolutely fantastic! Organising it was a breeze with the manager Hannah & the lad responsible for us was superb! Was outstanding with the kids and keeping them happy, always on hand to help out, spot on with our pre-order of food, just made it so easy for us! The food was fantastic & the setting was just what we wanted. Can’t recommend this enough for any occasion, whether it be a large function like ours or a meal for family or couple. We’ll be back soon for sure!!

Visited here after booking a table for an evening meal. Either side of the entrance there are nice seating areas ideal for the warmer temperatures in the summer. On entering there are a couple of steps to go up before you see the wonderful decor of the first dining room. The friendly and welcoming staff member took us to our table where we were shown the drinks and food menus. There is a two course menu available for £14.95 consisting of a choice of starter and main meal. We had four mains follow by dessert. The drinks consisted of two coffees, two soda & lime and an alcoholic cocktail. The meals arrived in good time, nice and warm and cooked to perfection, brought to us by a pleasant member of staff. The total bill was £95.70, good value for money for the excellent food eaten in a lovely venue. Pop in and try for yourself.

Four of us Booked a table approximately one week prior to New Year’s Eve, we managed to get a table at 6:30 pm which was fine for us. The decor of this restaurant is very nice, modern but with a nice cosy feel. We were seated and served promptly. We ordered some wine and our meals, it was a set menu on New Year’s Eve. I started with the ribs, they were very good, not too much sauce, not dry and plenty of meat. I then had the burger which was well done, I would’ve liked it a little less well done, the burger was okay, nothing special. To finish I have the sticky toffee pudding which was nice however there was not enough sauce on it, leaving it a bit dry for me who likes a lot of sauce. All in all I enjoyed my meal however with hindsight I would’ve chosen slightly differently.

The alarm bells should have rang out when walking into a empty restaurant on a Saturday afternoon at three o clock.We were the only diners present that tells you something.Ordered off the set menus and very disappointing in the presentation and cut of meatI had what was described as a burger this terminology was not what appeared the burger itself was on a very bland tasteless roll and the meat was beaten to death and was approximately 5mm in width this is not a burger.My partner ordered the burrito again bland and the chicken within had not been seasoned just chicken with some peppers and wrapped in a tasteless wrap.We used to enjoy the dining experience at this venue needless to say this was the last as there are other establishments with atmosphere and better food quality.The other point to mention is the price of a soft drink 2.35 for a small coke is what you call a rip off.

We visited here ( party of 8) on Sunday for my son's 30th birthday. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. We had 2 small babies in the party and the staff were brilliant with them too. We had starters and mains which everyone thought were excellent. Great value for money. One slight downside as l am a real ale fanatic l was disappointed only bottled beer is available.

Came for a family meal and first of all it is a beautifully decorated restaurant, with a really good choice of drinks. We shared a huge starter and I had the Thai red curry which was spot on. The waitress was very polite and helpful, couldn’t fault her. Really nice visit can’t wait to return!

First visit so I was particularly observant to gauge my first impressions , spacious car park reception right by the door . We had to wait a while but in fairness the staff were buzzing around and after the delay we were quickly seat , be-menued and asked for a drinks order . These came quickly ,they automatically filled all the glasses with ice without asking, but maybe that's their way . Soon corrected . we shared a sample platter for starters and the contents were excellent but filling , Entrees arrived after a suitable gap and they too were generous in proportion but also hot and tasty , extra condiments etc arrived without delay . There were no complaints or even slight niggles from my party. The staff were attentive without disturbing the flow of conversation , so my initial grump at waiting was soon a carried embarrassment !! All in all a great mid week venue , I should imagine that if its this busy on a Thursday then its manic at the weekend , I feel assured the staff are up to the task .

I had dinner with my wife and 2 friends on the 24th August 2019. I've known of this restaurant for years and heard many favourable comments about the food and location etc so finally decided to give it a go. So pleased I did, the restaurant has a great atmosphere, the service brilliant and the food was excellent. I was also surprised as I'd heard it can be expensive however I thought it was very reasonably priced. Great night was had by all and will definitely be returning in the near future.

I have come her many time previous to this and nothing like this has ever happened found wasp in my drink then as a replacement for that I got the same drink then horrified to find a small flie in that one too . This was very of putting to me and made my main course hard to eat know that I had found 2 insects in my drinks previously. Abit annoyed that there wasn’t a offer to take that off the bill . Only told them about the wasp not the flie as we had already drank it and we were leaving. Also the food was very disappointing I had fish and chip and the fish was not specified as say cod haddock or something but white fish which is very dodgy . My fries tasted like batter and the food was very dry and bland . The fish tasted like it had been sat in a freezer for years. Great service but terrible food I am a local customer and have come here since 2014 but never again as the quality seems to decrease every time I come

Used to here many years ago for family celebrations, have been three times this year and on each visit found it to be just as good as before.

Our first experience of this wonderful restaurant last weekend and certainly won’t be the last. Booked well in advance for a mid afternoon meal and the restaurant was busy but really well staffed. The service we received was superb, the staff attentive and constantly checking to see if we were ok without ever being intrusive. The quality of the food for both the adults in the party and the children was superb, with it coming out fast and piping hot. The fajitas were as good as we’ve heard, and the steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection.

I frequently visit panama Hattys as it’s usually my favourite spot but last night was just poor from the start.

Having visited many years ago and being slightly underwhelmed last time, I booked a table for my wife's birthday for 8 people.

Booked for 6 of us, staff were very friendly and didn't mind me bringing a birthday cake in. Service was great. I had starter of Thai fish cakes bit spicy but nice and the jambalaya for main. Bit disappointed with it. Dry and very spicy not the best I've had. Oreo cheesecake pot for pud which was lovely. My little girl loved her pasta then icecream which can't go wrong with. Everyone else said food was nice but that's it. Really nice inside good for groups or couples

Had dinner here on Saturday evening. A warm welcome when we arrived had a drink in the cosy lounge area while deciding what to eat. We had garlic bread to start. My husband chose the ribs and chicken wings and I had the ultimate burger. Amazing!! Beautiful food sadly too full for dessert............. will try harder next time!!

I held my husband's 50th Birthday meal here on Sunday 7th July in the afternoon. From start to finish the service was exceptional. Every member of staff was extremely friendly and helpful, it was very well organised and they cater well for children.

A nice enough place with good décor, and efficient serving staff. The dinner we had was 'Good', but unfortunately I cannot say is was ‘Very Good’ when considered against the prices charged.

Love it here. Always friendly, helpful and lovely place. Just been to oulton park booked on the phone during the day and stopped for tea on way home. Really nice food lovely dining experience. Value for money. Had the two course meal for Sunday. Garlic bread and nachos then both had the beef Sunday roast Evan managed to fit in pudding old Englander and waffle very nice. Never heard of this establishment before but after 10 hrs of driving we were hungry and stoped to see if we could get food. First impressions were Wow this looks like a very special place and we were not wrong. Reception was very welcoming and the serving staff were very organised and very attentive. The food was very good and very different from most establishments offering. We enjoyed our food stopover and would certainly call in again if we were passing the location. If you are looking for good food, first class service and a different menu give it a go.

We were a party of eight to celebrate an18th birthday. I was allowed to decorate the table and staff helped me sort out the cake we took with us. The staff just couldn’t do enough for us. A wonderful start with my granddaughter being given her first alcoholic drink by the manager with a candle in - such a surprise for her. The food was excellent being promptly served hot, very tasty and plentiful. The staff were absolutely brilliant, being helpful , friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and looking forward to going back.

Saturday night meal. Not been before. Noisy, busy, lots of parties and kids. Nice staff. Food so so. Rather disappointing for my choice but others thought it ok if nothing special. The sort of place you might bring a teenager for a birthday meal. Expensive for what it is. Not for us again.

Dined here as group of couples whilst away for a birthday weekend. One of the group had been a few years before and liked it that much booked us a table.

The atmosphere was serene and not bad at all although some seating areas are a little bit on the dark side. The food came out promptly and was not too bad. The ribs were excellent although the chips could be fresher.

Lovely food, nice place and nice staff.... but a couple of pence short of £6 for a bottle of beer. I’m writing this close to midnight as the price of the beer is still playing on my mind.

Around 20 of us went on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate my Brother-in-Laws 50th. We were greated by the manager who kept checking everything was ok. All the food came out at the same time, it was all hot and very good. We had pre-ordered and they got all the orders correct.

First time here for me & Nigel, my sister had been before and recommended, we wasn't disappointed. The ambiance was perfect, food delicious and cocktails amazing. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend to everyone.

A lovely cosy venue with excellent and plenteous food. We had two courses; a starter and a main. We did think that the starters were very good, but expensive. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would certainly come again. We left feeling very full!

Booked for 6 people. Welcoming ambience, comfy settees to enjoy cocktails and chat. We were given the menus and orders taken, we were told to enjoy drinks and we would be shown to table when food was ready. We did not wait long, we all enjoyed our meal, the lamb shank was divine. Overall the service was efficient and staff were friendly and helpful. Have not visited for over 12 years as bit of a trek but it was a special occasion and the journey was well worth it.

Impressed with the interior decoration of this restaurant on our first visit. Pleasant greeting by the staff who were all very attentive. Good choice on the menu and the Sunday roast is certainly worth trying and was very nice indeed. Will certainly return.

We came here on the evening of the 23rd of March, staff were welcoming and courteous. Service was prompt and efficient. The food was fabulous! Of particular note was the young lady that took our food order, while discussing our order she overheard it was a meal for my birthday. At the end of the meal, and under her own steam, the same young lady brought me out the birthday cake and candle which was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. Overall excellent food, excellent atmosphere and exemplary service!

Around £30 per head for a cheap starter, main, and a drink. Quality about on par with a Weatherspoons, but with prices about twice as much. The young lady who served us was super friendly and professional, but the chap who "greeted" us seemed as though he couldn't care less about our arrival. Also, STAY AWAY FROM THE JAMBOLAYA! Despite this being the signature dish, I've had microwave meals of a much higher standard than that served for the bargain sum of ~£15! Generally, the quality of the food was on par with supermarket ready meals, and the prices were that of your higher-end franchise eatery, and the service by those in charge was at a couldn't-care-less level by some, and decent by others.

I had the misfortune in visiting this place for the first time, my table was close to the kitchen, I became a bit worried that my choice to visit this restaurant with a customer.

Great atmosphere, service and great value meal (90's menu at 90's price!). Really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere again! The times we have eaten at Panama Hatty's we have never been disappointed.

Had been playing golf at the nearby MacDonald hotel. Drove past this place, and just stopped on a whim, having never heard of it.

Took dinner here with family. My House Burger was tough as old boots and i struggled to cut with a knife. Chips and coleslaw adequate. Very disappointed with the seating arrangements - extremely poor lighting meant that we had to use the lights from our moibile phones to read the menu, and the chairs we sat on were plastic and low, which meant having to put our coats on the seats to achieve a reasonable height. Will not rush back here in a hurry..

Visited the restaurant on a Saturday night important that if you want to visit on a Saturday you book early as it is very popular.

The last time I came here was for my brothers 18th birthday 8 years ago. The first time was probably about 10 years ago. I remember the first time we went it was a lovely experience with people taking our coats and being super attentive.

Very nice restaurant with good food and beer menu, food served was excellent, service was also excellent and enjoyable will return again.

We’ve been here as a family a few times in the past, usually for celebrations of some kind (the last was a year or so ago for my sister’s uni graduation). This year, it was for my 18th and it didn’t disappoint. Food was lovely, and the service was good (and considering it was a busy Saturday night and we were a table of 9, a big thank you to our servers). I understand that the time in between each course isn’t specifically planned with a countdown for each table, but the wait in between each course was perfect tonight. It really is a beautiful place and for the food quality, atmosphere and the area of the restaurant itself, prices are really good. Portion sizes are great. I personally had the burger - the meat was cooked really nicely and was still very juicy which makes a nice change (a lot of places I’ve been to recently have had really dried out burgers so this was a relief). Desserts were beautiful, I highly recommend the waffle. I love that they give you a little sign to say when you’re ready to order desserts - a restaurant that really does understand what the customers want! I always need a longer gap in between my main and pudding, and it still amazes me that more places don’t do this because a lot of people think the same!

Great atmosphere, food and drink always good, can recommend the chilli squid to start. Steak is fabulous. Having proper chips instead of those very thin fries would give you the 5th star !!!
