Pajaree's in Calderdale

A great meal. Many years ago I went to Thailand and thought the food was wonderful, it has never been quite the same in the UK but this is as close as it comes.

I have been a customer of Pajaree for more than 20 years and the quality never changes. I love Thai food and have tried most restaurants in West Yorkshire but all pale in comparison to Pajaree's true home style food. Cooked to her own high standard of taste and freshness.. Keep up the excellent work Pajaree will be back again next month.

Lovely food, very reasonably priced. All the cooking is done by Pajaree herself, and tastes amazing. There were 7 of us eating and everyone loved their meal.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant now for well over a decade and it’s still my one and only reason for visiting Halifax. The food is always top quality, portions are generous and really good value for money. But more than that is the experience Pajaree herself provides. Always warm and friendly, cares for her customers and never forgets you. Her partner Philip is lovely too and always great to have a catch up with. We had mixed starters, a main each, egg fired rice and a pork omelette all washed down with a lovely bottle of Shiraz and the whole lot cost less than £55. If that’s not enough, I will let the pictures do the talking :-)

We visited this restaurant with friends who live in the area. The food was delicious- and obviously cooked with passion. Reasonably priced and service great. Although the restaurant is basic, the atmosphere is fantastic- with Parajee being an hilarious host and a great double act with her husband. Great night

This is the most delicious authentic Thai food we've ever had. It is so flavourful and fresh you just can't gen enough of it. Best 'drunken noodles' we've had in years as well. Atmpshere is so relaxed and casual, feels like going to a friend's house for a home cooked meal. Again and again. Pajaree and Philip are a pleasure to talk too! Our favourite restaurant by miles

Our first time here. What a great night. We all went for the chefs choice and we weren't disappointed. 4 starters and 4 main courses, all perfect. Every sauce was just lovely. I’ve been coming here many years now and the food is always worth the trip. The added bonus of getting to catch up with the always charismatic chef Pajaree make this extra special. My partner and I shared the mixed starters. We then had a couple of delicious spicy stir fry mains and my own personal favourite - the minced pork omelette as a side. All of this was washed down with a delicious bottle of Australian Shiraz. The total price was only £50 for the lot. Portions are generous, all dishes bursting with flavourful fresh ingredients and you are very well fed indeed. The service is always first class and Phillip provides great conversation too. I’ve said for some time now this is my favourite restaurant and that will never change for as long as Pajaree stays open. This isn’t your average meal. It’s on an elevated level where true passion is poured into every dish. If you are ever in Halifax this is the only place to eat and don’t worry if you’re not a fan of spice. Paj caters for all tastes and dietary requirements so from the very mild to the extremely hot - there’s something for everyone.

Excellent Thai food all freshly cooked to order. Pajaree, the owner & chef, is rightly very proud of her cooking skills and advised against ordering too much in view of the generous size of the portions. Most reassuring. Don’t expect 5 star surroundings but you will get top quality Thai food at a reasonable cost & served by the delightful Pajaree. Well done.

This is the best meal I have ever eaten, and it puts other so called Thai restaurants to shame. The host is really friendly and she makes a point of spending time with you. Regular customers will know this is a trait of hers. Her food is so good I will look for an excuse to come back to Halifax just to eat in her restaurant.

I’ve now been visiting Pajaree’s for a few years and can honestly say it gets better with every occasion.Paj herself is always so warm and friendly and truly cares for her customers. The food here is a real bargain - you get such quality and large portions for your money. My partner and I had the mixed starter for 2, a beef Penang curry, a spicy chicken stir fry (delicious), egg fried rice and my absolute favourite - the omelette with pork. All of this was accompanied by a luscious bottle of Australian Shiraz. And the total price? Just £41!!Despite living quite a few miles away I will not eat at any other Thai restaurant. The food, the atmosphere and the passion from Paj herself have meant that this is and will always be my favourite place to eat.To appreciate real Thai food this is the only place you will ever need to go. Pajaree’s food is absolutely excellent. It is very very tasty and Pajaree always gives generous portions (unlike many of the other Thai restaurants in Halifax, where you have to buy more to be full). The restaurant offers the best value for money by far. In particular, we love the tom yum soup and Panang curry. We’ve eaten at the restaurant and had many takeaway and we’ve never been disappointed. Thank you Pajaree for bringing such amazing Thai food to Halifax!

We visited Pajaree's for a birthday meal from out of area. We'd looked at a few Thai restaurants in Halifax but the reviews spoke for themselves so we booked a table. Pajaree and her husband manage the restaurant and cook all the food so when it's busy there can be a slight wait but you also have the wonderful sense of not being rushed!Onto the food - we had a starter and main each, all things we'd not tried before and were amazed. I'd particularly recommend the salmon curry and satay chicken starter! Scrumptious from start to finish! It was so good, I even forgot to take photos!

Over the moon paj is back open, as great as it’s been having the takeaways each week, it’s not the same as being able to come and eat in. Ordered the mixed starter for two which was fab, all my husbands favourites. We then ordered pork fried rice, beef massaman and chicken pad Thai, we couldn’t decide which Of our favourites we wanted so went for all three even though we couldn’t eat them all. We took our children to Pajarees restaurant last night and had an absolutely fantastic night.Pajaree and her husband Phillip are awesome hosts - friendly, fun and personable. We had chicken satay which was fabulous - authentic, tasted fabulous, generous portion and the peanut sauce and salad were lovely. Our 3 children ordered Pad Thai one with pork, one chicken and one prawn. The portions were very generous and the taste was perfect - fresh and flavoured perfectly. I had number 48 on the menu which was beautiful and my husband also had Pad Thai. Again, the portions were very generous and we enjoyed every bit.Pajaree came and chatted to us which made for a really fun and personal evening. The children are still talking about it today with my daughter wanting to go to Pajarees to do a Thai cooking course for her birthday. Great restaurant, great owners, so family friendly, huge portions, well priced and awesome food. We are already planning a return visit! Many thanks Pajaree and Phillip. Great night!

Husband left a review last week too but we felt we needed to again after tonight's takeaway. It's now my husband's go to place for take out food just now, the food is outstanding and cooked fresh. He got the ribs today and they were the best he's eaten. Even I not a huge rib fan thought they were delicious. Food is always gorgeous whether you eat in or take out. Fantastic value for money too. Highly recommended.

Ate here recently with some colleagues. An absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. The best Tod Mun Pla I’ve ever had and an incredible Som Tam. Everyone really enjoyed their food, cooked with love, care and attention by a delightful woman who had us in stitches at the end of the meal with her stories and jokes. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more if you like Thai food cooked home style. Amazing.

Small basic restaurant, with really authentic Thai food and friendly service. Dining room is a bit cool in winter but ok. Its not somewhere to spend the evening, but great for a proper Thai meal with a couple of beers.

This is a brilliant place to eat. The restaurant is quite modest, but you’re there for the food - and it doesn’t disappoint. When we were there, Paj was cooking and her son was waiting tables. My husband and I were visiting Halifax and had seen this place on Tripadvisor, we were not disappointed. We were seated with two local regulars who were great company. The atmosphere is very relaxed, Phil took our order and Pajaree checked that everything was OK, which it was. We have visited Thailand for many years and the food here was just like being back in Hua Hin! I just wished we lived nearer this restaurant, we’d be in every week. Due to a dodgy knee of mine we wanted a taxi back to our hotel but no..... Phil gave us a lift back. What more can I say other than great food at good prices and the best hosts ever. Pajaree herself is a real character and we hope her success continues.
