Absolutely incredible Chinese in Haxby, York. Not heard a bad word about this restaurant so we knew we had to visit asap! We visited with some friends yesterday and ordered a feast, we’re already wanting to go back asap! Not only were the portion sizes HUGGGGEEE but the food was top tier too! 👌 We shared - 🧂 Salt n’ Pepper Ribs 🥜 Satay Chicken ⭐️ 🦐 Prawn Crackers 🥩 Crispy Chilli Beef 🐔 Bobo Chicken ⭐️ 🐷 Char Sui Pork 🧂 Salt n’ Pepper Chips 🍜 Egg Noodles 🍚 Egg Fried Rice We don’t really have a bad thing to say about any of the dishes, but the stand out dishes had to be the satay chicken and the Bobo chicken. They both had so so much flavour and a nice kick! It was unreal 😍

We have dined here twice now and been treated to excellent friendly service, delicious piping-hot food and generous portions with enough to take home in a doggy-bag on both occasions. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, especially set menu C. We particularly enjoy the pekkng hot & sour soup, and the fact that the banquet allows you to choose your own mains, which allows for greater options to enjoy on the menu!

THE best service, The best chinese restaurant for miles!

Absolutely amazing! Best Chinese we have ever had! The food is fresh, hot, and massive portions, so much so it has done us for two meals (we are big eaters), lol. Spent the weekend in York centre, and this was just a 5 mile drive to haxby. Ordered in advance on the phone (which is quite a busy line. Keep trying as it's worth it) and was not too long wait, even though it was a Saturday night, a week before Christmas. Thank you, Merry Christmas.

If I could award 6 stars I would. We were 8 friends, each ordered a different main & we shared. Every single dish was delicious, tasty, fresh & superbly executed. The service was spot on, attentive & timely. This restaurant offers a lovely experience at great value for money. Thank you, we all had a brilliant evening.

Excellent food preparation and service of very high standards

We do a 70 mile round trip to visit Paddyfields on a regular basis, it is the best around by far, food amazing, very generous portions, staff are so friendly.

We are staying in Haxby with friends for a long weekend and earlier ordered from Paddy Fields of Haxby. We collected a take away order of various different meals for 6 tonight and every meal was excellent and more than enough in size to suit all of us. We cannot recommend them enough as we were so surprised how polite and pleasant they were too.

Amazing food, service and value. Visited on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was pretty much full - which is usually a sign of a great place to eat. The restaurant is small but not crowded. Extensive menu with good variety of choices. Will definitely go back and highly recommend for a really good Chinese meal.

Great food and huge portions. If you are looking for better quality Chinese food then this could be your spot. Special fried rice is the best I've had by far and you can split it between 3 people

Restaurant is very small so make sure you book. The staff were very polite and attentive. The food was amazing and for the money the portion sizes were fantastic. I was recommended to go here by friends and family and I will definitely go here again.

The best Chinese meal we have eaten for a long time. We travelled 45 miles for a re-visit to celebrate a birthday.

Superb food, very good value, you will not be disappointed. Not the biggest of Chinese restaurants but certainly one of the best outside Hong Kong I have visited.

Visiting York on holiday and came for a meal with family. Wonderful place. The food is so fresh and tasty, very generous portions but not at the expense of outstanding quality. Service is warm and friendly. The restaurant is decorated simply and comfortably. If even back in the area we will ensure that we return.

Back at the Paddyfields for the first time since we moved south 4 years ago. This was our favourite restaurant then and was as amazing as I remembered it. The staff, service and food were all excellent. Thank you Elaine and staff for looking after us so well. Graham very jealous he could not be there. We miss you lots.

100% best Chinese in York as other reviews say. Have all the nice touches: mint choc after dinner, wipes between courses, clean your table between courses, serve rice onto your plate before you start, constantly tip up drinks etc. They are so kind to our family every time. Always recognise us and are so friendly. The atmosphere and interior is lovely (very comfy seats!) The food is genuinely incredible. So fresh, tasty and heart. The duck is better than any other I’ve ever had. Genuinely couldn’t recommend enough.

Best Chinese restaurant in york! Food is good for value, I love their salt and pepper chicken options. Curry sauce is fab. Cant wait to come back :)

This is by far the absolute best Chinese in York! Since moving to York 5 years ago I have been searching for a great Chinese and after trying so many of them I was at a loss with none hitting the mark that is until Paddyfields. Every aspect of Paddyfields is Absolutely AMAZING!! Food quality- Check Flavour- Check Portion Size- Check Friendly Staff- Check Atmosphere- Check If you want a brilliant Chinese restaurant or take away there is no place better than here, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. No where else in York even comes close, and I for one won’t even bother trying anywhere else, you have a customer for life !

Beautiful restaurant, with fabulous food. The portion size for each dish was large. The quality was exceptional. The lady & gentleman front of house delivered the best customer service, both hard working & looked after every customer in the room. It's an eat in or takeaway. What every your preference, you won't be disappointed. This restaurant has everything a customer deserves, fantastic service, quality food in a lovely setting.

Visited here after many recommendations from people who have visited. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Prices fair and food quality fantastic. Very fresh and tasty. Chicken curry was the best I’ve had and I’ve been to many chineses. Salt and pepper chips were tasty, egg fried rice and prawn toast. All very good and would highly recommend. Will be back again.

First time eating hear and first impressions count but unfortunately that's where it ends. Ordered the special chowmein and was at first impressed with the portions but for the price that was paid I didn't expect 4 large pieces of fat. It was disgusting to see. Won't go back again.

Lovely little (and I do mean little) Chinese restaurant, some really unusual dishes on the menu. Been a few times and it's been great to try different things to my usual goto meals. Everything has been super tasty, can't recommend enough. Due to the size I would certainly book a table in advance. We will definitely be returning again (and again)

Never had a bad meal from here. The meat is plentiful in the curry & you can tell it is not processed. The sauces are delicious, without giving you a kickback for being to hot. Big portions of rice to complete your meal

We Went Early Sunday Evening. The food was exceptional old Style Cantonese Food . We went for a set meal for three and I can say that we couldn't eat it all and had to get the rest for takeaway which fed three the next day. The service was also wonderful . I highly recommend PaddyFields you will not be disappointed .

This is a superb takeaway. The food quality is exceptional and the service impeccable. We have a takeaway meal every three or four weeks and have tasted many of the dishes. Standouts are the vermicelli and the crispy beef.

When we first tried this place we were not keen at all....fast forward a couple of years and we’re so glad to have a local Chinese! We have takeaways and have sat in a couple of times and have never had an issue.

6 of us ordered the set meal for my partner's birthday. First plus is the discount you get on takeaway... Saved us £20! Second plus is the specific collection time I was given and that each time I've been there the order was sat (nice and hot) waiting for me! Third plus is how gorgeous the food is!! There's a very fussy eater in our group, and even he said it was the best Chinese he had ever had ! The portions were huge (we've got a fridge full this morning!) And the meat was delicious. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Visited Paddyfields last night with my wife and 85yr old Mother.Was a bit apprehensive, because my Mother is unused to Chinese food, and I know she doesn't like anything spicy.However, I need not have worried, as the meal was excellent and she really enjoyed it.The staff were attentive, polite and seemed to constantly on the move dealing with seated guests and visitors for take-away orders.The set meals (which we choose) also gave us the option of choosing our own main courses so that helped in ensuring my mother was happy.The food was plentiful, hot when served, and delicious.I have no hesitation in recommending this Chinese to anyone Will look forward to visiting again soon.

Found this accidentally when we were stopping in Sheriff Hutton. The portions were really large, collection service was quick and efficient. Food was lovely.

Having visited this Chinese restaurant for more than 10 years, I'm happy to highly recommend it.Always served meals of high quality, enjoyable flavours and friendly staff. Thin noodle chow mein and crispy shredded beef with chilli sauce is a regular favourite. It's not a large restaurant, so reserving a table may be worth while especially at weekends.

One of the nicest Beef Satay's I've ever had, nice and spicy and peanutty and great with boiled rice. Also easily the best and and Pepper Ribs in York. Love it and can't wait to go back soon or grab a takeaway.

Had a lovely sit down meal in Paddy’s at Christmas time. Food and service is faultless. Ordered far too much again but they will bag it up for you if you want to take it home. I have used the take away more recently and again it is lovely and fresh tasting. Not greasy or tasteless but perfect. Chicken is proper chicken and not slimes which some Chinese takeaways are. Chicken with cashew nut is a favourite of mine but my husband always goes for chow mein or chicken satay (hot).

Amazing food. We went as a table of 16. Everyone enjoyed their food. Portions were enormous! It was my husbands birthday and they treated him so well. Extra beer for his birthday and a cake with candle. Reasonable prices as well.

This place came recommended by lots of people I work with in York.Fantastic chicken and sweet corn soup and a really nice generous portion of Chrispy Chicken in ok sauce with fried rice. £18 was a little above what I would usually pay for similar food but it was very tasty and great service.

We first visited 6 years ago on one of our first dates. Paddyfields always stayed in our minds and we always said we would return. It did not disappoint!!! Fabulous! 10/10!

We were 4 people. We each had a separate meal but shared a crispy duck and pancakes as a starter. The food was all wonderfully cooked but there was far too much for us to eat on the night. Prices are not cheap but you will be well fed. Most people were taking doggy bags full of leftovers home with them - we preferred to eat the meat and leave the small amounts of uneaten veg. A tip would be to order one meal less than the number of people sitting at the table. Our bill for 4 for food and 2 coffees and drinks but no puds was £107. We will be back.

We visited a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say we had an an excellent evening. The food was delicious, my father in law declared it the best foo yung he has ever had, the salt and pepper ribs to start were generous and melt in the mouth, everything was spot on. The service is friendly and polite, the restaurant comfortable, and well priced.As we don't live in the area we only go when over visiting, but we have never been disappointed, so quite surprised to see some of the recent reviews.
