Pablo's in Blackpool

the food is nothing special, not even in the top 20 in Blackpool, yet they are the most expensive in Blackpool. To give you an idea, They charge £3 just for a sausage, yet less then ten yards away you can get sausage, chips and curry for the same price and the the same quality. They is no excuse for charging that much. On the next street you can get 2 jumbo, 2 small sausage, 3 large chips, 3 sides for only £9 When you come to Blackpool and avoide this place.

this place is amazing if i lived in blackpool i would find it so hard to not go every night like honestly this is the best fish and chip shop in blackpool and that is not a lie

We had the special which consisted of fish, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and tea or coffee for just £850. Huge portions of excellent food. Well worth visiting

After reading some reviews I was a bit sceptical about eating here. I am glad I did they do have track and trace the place was clean fish and chips lovely even proper mushy peas not out of a tin we will go again. With no hesitation

We were staying in the area and popped in for supper, we all had something different from the menu and were very pleased with our meals. Price very reasonable, lovely clean restaurant with great staff, highly recommend.

Surprised this well visited place does not have track and trace. Everything else is to avoid covid is great spacing , sanstising and very clean. Food as good as usual and staff very friendly. Just think that this very busy place should have Track and trace.

Fish was small and very greasy with 2 much batter, chips were horrible and tasted of fat, very expensive for rubbish food.

We had lunch here on a Saturday that saw the rest of the south end of the prom absolutely mobbed. We both had the special and really enjoyed it, no complaints from either of us!

We called in this fish and chip restaurant today expecting some fresh, delicious fish and chips but wow it was disappointing! The fish was dry, old and wafer thin the batter was nice and crispy but that was probably because there was little in it, the portion was small and for a pound shy of £10 each it was nothing short of a rip off.With the thin, bland milkshakes and some cans of coke it cost nearly £40 For 2 adults and 2 children to eat.I need a whole paragraph to describe the gravy, it was lumpy, tasted old and ruined everything it came into contact with, it was almost as foul as the expressions on the face of the miserable staff I had the pleasure of meeting. All in all, in Blackpool, I don't expect much, but for twice what I'd pay at home I didn't expect to get half the quality.If you can't get fish and chips right meters away from the sea then you don't deserve to get rich from people having a day out, treating themselves

Can you serve any slower? Food was average and £1.50 for a can of coke. Blackpool is bad enough and overpriced dives like this are the reason why.

love pablos we come here every time we are in blackpool fish and chips at its best and they do a nice pie as well trying to keep 9 people happy is hard but pablos had some thing for ever one and they all injoyed it happy days and they have a good selection of puddings as well at a great price

Lovely fish & chips.Would’ve preferred to sit in but wasn’t open.Only open for take out. Staff were friendly. Even with the measures in place customers weren’t following any of the social distancing but that’s not the staffs fault. Would definitely eat here again.

overpriced with the smallest of portions. Hiking up your prices and reducing the number of chips means you have lost life long customers. We have been coming to Pablo's regularly for years, well no more. The taste was also completely mediocre. The service, well that has never been fantastic, the person taking our order was sullen and rude. Even my kids felt ripped off and they spend money like water.

as were in a pandemic, and were slowly coming out of it. i thought as we had some good weather coming i thought id take my family to blackpool. we came across this place and thought get some food. i dont write reviews often, but felt the need on this occasion. the prices had been clearly hiked up. as the original sticker prices had been covered up. 1.50 for a can of pop. 1.50 for a sausage that was not jumbo, it was around the size of a richmond sausage.. but of poorer quality. id would advise looking at the prices before going in. and thips were of poor quality. never go here again. and 4 quid for 1 meat pie, absolute RIP OFF

Visited the takeaway section of Pablos, to eat outside, as a family of 5. A GREAT sense of Covid compliance and though the service was slow, I could see it was just due to them ensuring their safety and ours too. The meal was also absolutely delicious. Thank you.

Fish Chips and Peas, Bread and Butter plus a brew x 2. Went off the reviews off here and compared to our normal place in Blackpool (queuing out the door) was mediocre. No cheaper, quality no comparison.

We tried the fish and chips and the fish was one of the worst I have ever had, it was very thin and once I had broken through the batter there was hardly any fish meat to eatChips weren’t that good either, ketchup tasted more like vinegar than tomato and all in all a poor meal and I would not eat here again

We have been going to Blackpool fro many years and used to visit Pablos as children with our Mum and Dad in the 60's . It was good then and it is good now. Basic Blackpool Fish and Chips just what you need on a cold and wet raining day on the prom before you walk down the front. We had a very enjoyable meal and was not disappointed by revisiting a very old haunt which brought back some very happy memories. It has many options to choose from and offers a lot more either eat in or take out but it has to be Fish and Chips for us in Blackpool which was delicious

Was recommended to come here and was not disappointed. There is a children’s menu and clean toilets and although quite basic seating,it was clean and tidied by friendly staff. The fish and chips were hot and good sized portions with de,i IOU’s,proper mushy peas. Great value for money. Only downside was a long wait whilst having to queue but it is to be expected in such a busy place.

Been going to Pablos for 13 years and never had a bad meal. Last two years we have been and skeleton staff 3 on front serving also serving the take-away service. This place gets so busy people are queuing outside and walking away. Been this weekend 1/11/2019 qued 35 minutes got a table ok asked a member of staff ( cleaner) if they had a better high hair one that was safe and a tray she ignored me. My husband got our food and the fish was grey and tasted disgusting that was never fish i left mine so did my husband kids ate their chips what a waste of money we left hungry looks like we need to find a decent fish and chip restaurant

Old school chippie, but brought up to date with an impressive range of meat-free options, many of which are fresh-prepared to order. Portions are generous, gravy perfect (and veggie), menu sufficiently broad that you could eat here several times and always find something new and interesting. Note for southern softies like me; Holland's pies rather then the Pukka ones we get down south. I get that they're a northern thing but I had a couple on my most recent Blackpool visit, and Pukka would clean up here if more shops stocked them; they're much better.

Went for fish and chips here because it stood out as the biggest and busiest chippy on the prom so we assumed it would be the best (should have went with my gut instinct that 'pablo' couldn't make good fish and chips) staff had no customer service skills whatsoever and were quite rude. Fish was flat as a pancake and had brown bits all through it, struggled to share the chips with my toddlers cause they were all the scrap ends. The toilet is kept locked so you have to try and find a (unhelpful) member of staff to open it. We was hoping to have the fish and chips experience by the sea instead we were completely let down. Had much better chippy at home.

We had fish and chips here and the fish was wafer thin and not a good size portion, the chips were nice but head to Bentleys round the corner far superior trust me

Came in mighty hungover and got just what we needed. Good quality chippie chips with some nice rich gravy all over. Also really enjoyed the mozzarella dippers, left satisfied and a little more human thank u!

Restaurant quite busy but not Pet friendly Had to wait around for the chips to be cooked. A few people around begging for money.

I wandered down to have a look at South Pier, felt hungry looked across the road and saw Pablo's. Looking through the window it looked clean and plenty of customers in.

Visited Pablo's one evening...I had fish and chips which was lovely...good portions..son got sausage and chips but never realized you had to ask for ask for battered sausages...

We come here every year when we come to see the illuminations and have never been disappointed! Good fish and chips, reasonably priced and friendly staff! Puddings are good too if you have room left :) definitely recommend a visit!

Expecting fresh fried battered fish, my piece of plaice was breadcrumbed, from a packet & overcooked

Came here for our first night in Blackpool after travelling for 4 hours on a train. It looked big and clean from the outside and had a reasonable priced special on the board outside so thought we'd give it a go, seriously wish we'd of kept walking. The place was clean, the tables were clean and staff were accommodating, that's why it gets a 2 star not a 1. The food is bad!!! Anorexic fish, never seen fish so thin in my life, stale around the edges bread, mediocre chips, cup for my tea had pink lipstick on and chipped all around the edge. If people are saying these are the best fish and chips they've ever had, I feel bad for them as they've obviously been denied decent chippies in their lives. Then to top it all off I couldn't even get any coke, a place called pablos with no coke... What's that all about??

Came here after arriving in Blackpool, we've never visited Blackpool before and therefore didn't know where to get fish and chips from. We decided on Pablo's restaurant close to our hotel. It was easily accessible with the pram and spacious inside. They had confectionery dispensers at the entrance and the minstrels looked older than the Queen. We sat and the food came in a good time. The bread to butter ratio wasn't good and only white bread too, plastic straws in a seaside town isn't good at all. The redemption comes in the mushy peas and chips, delicious! The fish was awful though, it was basically rubbish and flavourless batter with barley any fish, it was easier to eat like a sandwich. Very close to earning a 2 star but the chips and peas saved it, unfortunately I wouldn't eat here again.

Visited here on are trip away fantastic meal pablo’s special fish chips mushy peas bread and butter and regular fizzy drink £7.95 reasonable size and not greasy like most fish and chips

We were in. Blackpool for a couple of days and it was nice to find a proper chip shop not these take-aways that do pizza curry kebab ect.

We went for tea 1 night after swimming at the sandcastle. We got 2x pablo specials and 1 chicken steak with chips.. firstly theres defo nothing special about the pablos special. Small fish (have caught bigger at the park) few chips and lashings upon lashings of funky coloured mushy peas. Oh and the bread for the special is already unwrapped, buttered and left under the till ready for orders.. the chicken steak was basically a chicken burger removed from the bun and slapped at the side of a few chips.. very disappointed in our visit. And seems most people in there are just looking for a convenient toilet to use which was clearly labelled for customers only but certainly dident apply.. will never stop here again.

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Never been treated so rudely by members of staff. We ordered food for the family, the bill must have come to around £40. Two of the young children in my family wanted subway because they’re not really a fan of this kind of food. They came in and sat with us and started eating their subs, for a large female staff member to scream at the kids shouting that they can’t eat those in here. So the children had to pack their sandwiches away and wait for the rest of the family to finish off their food. Fair enough if this is the rule- say it politely and ask people to wait to eat it until after they’ve left, but quite frankly they’re children and we had already bought £40 worth of food from this place. For the sake of good service, surely you’d just allow it. She was so loud and unnecessarily rude. Then followed another man to shout at us some more! All for a bloody subway sandwich!! It was extremely embarrassing and people were staring at us. Throughout this fiasco, they were refusing to give my cousin his food that he had just ordered and were shouting at him to leave!! Had my parents not already been sat down eating by this point, we would have left. No need for such behaviour. We are a respectable family and if this is how we treated our customers, we’d have none left. Avoid at all costs, no customer service and horrendous, rude, disgusting staff members. I’ll stick to Wetherspoons next time.

I went here every day for 5 days and had fish and chips every time, the fish is the best I have ever had, lovely light crispy batter and you get a lot of chips

The food was good but the customer service has much to be desired. A young slim girls attitude to customers could be improved on greatly, almost argumentative. Cut me off mid-sentence and wanted to serve my food before I could even finish giving her my order. Not good first impression.

The best and my personal favourite spot for a good meal of fish and chips. The Pablo's special is around £8 and with that you get fish and chips with mushy peas and butter on bread and a drink. It's very filling and taste really good. The have an option for a few desserts if interested and also offer table service. Makes life a lot easier when visiting with children. They offer a kids menu as well. Give it a try and don't say I didn't tell you that it was a fabulous place to eat at.

We travelled to Blackpool today by coach on a trip out from a care home. I’d spotted Pablos on a trip the week earlier and thought it looked worth a try and easily accessible it did not disappoint! I rang ahead to try and place a large order however everything is made from scratch-perfect! The lady I spoke to assured me she would take care of our large order once we arrived and we wouldn’t wait long. True to her word it was freshly prepared and in no time and tasted delicious! Service was above and beyond they provided boxes for us to carry the food, plenty of condiments, napkins and forks and a bottle of vinegar free of charge! If your in Blackpool especially in a large group give this place a try! You can take away or eat in the restaurant! Thank you for helping our trip run smoothly Pablos see you again soon! X

Been here several times, food is very nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. The place itself is clean and tidy and it's right on the seafront too. Reasonably priced.

After a day at the pleasure beach, we decided to stop for some food! After a disappointing meal we had in the Yorkshire fisheries the different was night and day! Hot chips, lovely battered fish not greasy! Highly recommend !

Pablo's is a must visit beautiful fish & chips. The restaurant is extremely clean lovely staff & very friendly . Extremely good value for money and very family orinatated defo worth a couple of visits while your in sunny fun filled Blackpool !

Took our three kids for tea after a long day at the Pleasure Beach for some food. Had an okay meal. I’ve been coming annually since I was a child, first by my grandparents, bringing friends as a student and now with my family. It’s a treat I really look forward to as it brings back great memories. Sadly, I think this might be my last time as I witnessed a guy (presuming Pablo) being incredibly awful and degrading to a young member of staff in front of the whole restaurant. Myself, my husband and children were horrified and we sincerely hope the young girl is okay. I truly regret not tackling the guy (was tired and not fully in the game) at the time, as it was truly atrocious. Mind you, a good lesson for the kids in how never to treat people, regardless of who they are.

Visited here on a busy Saturday lunchtime for some classic fish and chips by the seaside. After a short wait, we ordered at the counter and paid promptly. I decided to try the special for £7.50 - fish, chips, soft drink, bread and butter. The fish was cooked well, if a little greasy. The chips were good and the bread and butter was standard. It is probably one of the better fish and chip shops in Blackpool and, for me, the best one around the south pier area of the town.

Expected the traditional flavour of fish and chips..what I got was very far from it. Cheap bread and marg...mushy peas resembling dog vomit and unpleasant tasting chips. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Expensive & Poor quality food, ended up taking ours back and asking for a refund, chips we're warm at best and still solid in the middle, sausage undercooked, fish undercooked and slimy batter. Both my stomach and the other halfs are turning and now got s***s haha. Cheers for that. Wouldn't reccomend to anyone. We passed 2 or 3 other chippys on the way. Should have gone there instead and I'd reccomend others do too.

This place was recommended by one of the tram conductors. Never having been to Blackpool before, we took him at his word. Pablo's did not disappoint. Had the fish and chips with mushy peas. It was a delicious meal! Right on the "main drag".

The fish was frozen.. And the prices are a joke. Small chips 2.30 curry 2.00 can of pop 1.95 fish and chips 7.50 had 2 chips that was it. Stay away from this place.. Go to back steert chippie a lot nice and price are better.

I am a local of Blackpool and on Sunday the 21st of April myself and my friend decided to get some food from Pablos. We bought our food from the takeaway section and planned to eat it outside but due to the level of litter scattered around the outside tables and bins (EXTREMELY UNHYGIENIC) we went to sit in the inside eating area as there were multiple tables and there were NO SIGNS saying you could not do this. We were eating for probably 10 minutes when the woman who served us from the takeaway section (I don’t know her name but she was short and middle aged) came bursting in and shouted at us to leave because we weren’t allowed to eat takeaway food in the restaurant. My friend told this woman that it was fine and we would sit outside but before she could even finish her sentence the woman shouted again ‘no, you need to get out right now’. We literally did not have 10 seconds to even collect up our belongings and get our food as this woman was rudely shouting at us in front of the whole restaurant. Therefore, I shall never be eating there again due to the complete lack of customer service skills the staff members seem to have, even though the food was actually quite nice.

We came here after the sandcastle. We had the pablo’s special. Fish chips mushy peas, bread and butter plus a choice of drink for £7.50. The fish was gorgeous. Would definitely make a return visit.

Visited today with 3 hungry teenagers. Food cooked freshly and piping hot and delivered to the table, My son loved the chicken breast chips and gravy and the two other devoured chicken nuggets chips and curry!

After having a bad experience in the hotel we were staying at the food truly cheered us up to the extent that we ate here twice. The staff were lovely and the food very tasty. Will be back

We visited here after spending the day at blackpool pleasure beach. Food was very fresh and portions were big also. The staff were also so friendly and welcoming and premises were clean too. Over all great value for money, great customer service, fantastic fish, very fresh and so easily accessible too.

Stroll up and down the front included lunch here, haddock and chips ( 3 types of fish available) potato pie and chips, cost just over £10 big portions which beat us this time. Will visit again

Why do I like this place so much? I have certainly enjoyed better meals, better ambiance, well better everything really. Perhaps it’s the memories of being here as a child, I think that helps! Or perhaps it does exactly what it’s always done, first class fish, chips and mushy peas, And interesting people to watch!

Very very busy when we went. Downside was service was slow as they needed more staff on the tills, cooking was fine as the fish were piled up! Decent fish and chips, plenty of them and good price. Would go again.

After walking for what seemed miles we came across Pablo's. It was packed with diners and the queue was extremely long. To us that's a good sign. We found a table and went to order our food. Large portions, well prepared and cooked to perfection. 6 people for less than £40 ...excellent value.

We had fish and chips and they were delicious and cooked to order. The fish was coated in a very light batter and you could tell how fresh it was as it was so white. Staff were polite and helpful even though it was very busy.

Batter not the tastiest and restaurant was v busy and bit chaotic but saying all that the food wasn’t too bad and the price was reasonable. Certainly it was popular. Definitely avoid milkshakes though. Tasted more of chemicals than milk

Had the "Pablo special". Fish, chips mushy peas, bread&butter;, hot drink £7.25. Glad to find it wasn't greasy like many fish these days. Crispy batter. Not a massive portion, but plenty for me. Others with me had chicken & mushroom pie (very tasty), sausages (OK, bit greasy), chicken steaks (OK, greasy). All with chips, plus an extra drink came to just under £24. Till staff a bit grumpy, others pleasant.

Positioned facing the South Pier this is a lovely little chippy, ‘Pablo’s deal’ was good, fish, chips, mushy peas, bread/butter and a drink for £7.75.

If you are in Blackpool near South Pier then Pablo's is the place to go for fish and chips. The restaurant is always busy yet copes remarkable well. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. The food is always a good quality and very tasty. The portions are enough for both adults and children's meals although older children may be better going for an adult meal. It is good value for money and sets you up well to go exploring the piers and front of Blackpool. I would highly recommend.

Out of the many chippies on offer, this is the best. Opposite South pier, you need to get in early to get a table inside or to beat the queue for the takeaway.

Good food and fast service, very efficient and friendly staff, in a good location at South shore just across from south pier, dining inside or outside, can get quite busy. Have eaten here many times.

The place was really busy but the staff coped well and served everyone really quickly. The fish and chips was really tasted and the kids loved their chicken nuggets

After struggling to find a Fish and Chip restaurant we found this and went in. We queued to order and take our food back to the table. There ate tomato sauce /mayo dispensers or you can pay extra for sachets. We had a fish and chip special that was well cooked and plentiful with a mug of tea. Seating is typical cafe with static plastic seats and tables but the food was good and well priced.

Not bad chippy plenty of places to sit large menu but it's just your usual items that all chip shops serve. Very clean inside and child friendly.

Highly recommend, go & enjoy. Great crispy batter, chips cooked perfect so they are crisp on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside. So good we went back the following evening to do it all again.

Fabulous fish and chips, definatly recommend this place, food is excellent, excellent staff, they even cater for children.

Once again, served by lovely staff who were friendly despite being rushed and lovely food. Toilets were extremely clean, although not overly keen on having to ask staff to unlock the toilets to let you use them - having said that though, I can understand why they lock them so that only customers use them as I've seen a lot of places on the prom do this.

Growing up in Blackpool I was always told do not eat on the prom and on a recent return visit in August I can see why. We were staying south of the Pleasure Beach and decided to give Pabalo's a chance. One of the things I look forward to is going to one of the towns many good fish and chip shops especially as my aunt and uncle owned one which I used to help out in.

Visited here Tuesday afternoon. Had the pablos special and chip balm. Food brought to table after a couple of minutes, fresh and piping hot. Plenty of fish to share with my 9 year old son. Clean venue and friendly staff, would definitely visit again when in Blackpool.

Visited pablo’s for lunch with a large family of 10 the food was fresh and delicious the staff were helpful and friendly.

Just got back from Blackpool visited Pablos I thought it was ok but not worth the money I would rate 6 out of 10

Pablo's is a biot of a family institution and I have been going to Pablo's since I was a kid, and my dad has also been going since he was a kid. So we decided to visit after a busy day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Visited here a few times over the years every time I have came the food has always been nice the only disappointment i have is the tables don’t really cater for those on the slightly larger side or those or don’t like to be right up close to the tablet. Thats the only reason its a 4 and not a 5

Three adults and four children ordered six adult meals and a plate of chips. The chips were for a child who has a fish allergy. The manager came over to insist that he could not eat his own sandwich with his chips. We spent nearly fifty quid in there, and they wouldn't let a kid eat a sandwich? No common sense.

Disgracefully insulting and offensive waitress who stated (when we asked to speak to the manager) that she was the manager!

I came here with my friend her partner and 2 children. I used to come here with my parents and grandparents. So bought back lots of memories.

each and everytime visited blackpool have always been here for a bit to eat, very well cooked and not scraped on cheap food you really do get what you pay for.. heaven..total a mush too visit even if a bag of chipsyou wont be disapointed. they have cafe side and a take away..
