It was my first visit to Othellos ,and what a fantastic night we had ,food was amazing ,staff were really lovely ,will definitely be going back soon Thankyou for such a lovely night

After passing orthellos for the millionth time and never having tried it we decided to book a table (recommended as it gets busy) we ordered the 18 course meze at £20.50 a head which was a bargain for the amount of food we got! it was all freshly cooked, piping hot and nicely presented, the atmosphere and service was excellent and the portions were big, looking at what others were ordering there are lots of gorgeous dishes to choose from so it won’t be long before we return! Many thanks for an enjoyable evening.

Amazing meal at Othello’s for my friend’s surprise 50th birthday party. The staff were so accommodating with our booking and the food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the banquets - there is so much variety and it is such great value for money. There was also some lovely vegan options on the menu. Thank you for a great night

So after covid ruined our plans of our usual birthday meals at Othellos we finally got to visit last night, this time we took friends with us who have never been before who travelled from Stockport as we was constantly telling them how good it was. Even after all the time away and us travelling from runcorn as soon as we entered Maria was there ready to take us to our table. We don’t even need the menus as Maria knows exactly what we have every time we go which is a Meze as you get to taste 18 different dishes of amazing homemade Greek food. James came to take our drinks orders within a few minutes of sitting down and again there was no need for us to tell him what we wanted as he knew straight away. The speed of the service was really quick considering the restaurant was full including a large group of people celebrating. Maria, Gerry, Charlie & James along with the rest of the kitchen staff never fail to deliver excellent service, amazing food and a friendly atmosphere. I can’t recommend Othellos enough. I have been visiting now for over 15 years so not only have I grown up with Othellos my daughter has too. After introducing my husband to othellos when we first met it’s a firm favourite for him also who is always recommending it to friends. The size of othellos gives you the feel of a proper family run restaurant even when Maria and her boys are running round ensuring everyone is catered to and well looked after. If I could give Othellos more than a 5 rating I would without a shadow of a doubt!! I usually get photos of the delicious large portions of food but last night I just wasn’t quick enough before our friends eagerly tucked in apart from 1 photo of the meatballs and stuffed vine leaves which I will include to show you even the presentation of the food is high quality! Once again Thankyou so much for an amazing night Maria and it definitely wont be as long before we return again!!

Amazing food and staff so friendly we have been going to this place for a few years now we invited some of are friends to come with us last night and try the amazing food and there both loved it and can’t wait to go back

This must be our 5th or 6th time at Othellos, not counting several delicious takeaways. Every time we're in, the food is impeccable and the owners and staff could not be more lovely. The whole family love it there-from my 80 year old dad to our 5 year old son. We'll be back and we'll keep recommending Othellos to friends and family.

A lovely intimate Greek restaurant, the food was excellent, probably the best Greek food outside Greece I've ever tasted (better than some I've tasted in Greece too), the service was fast and professional, the restaurant had a lovely friendly atmosphere, I have already recommended this restaurant to my family and friends and I plan on visiting again very very soon! The food portions are a good size and our bill was very reasonable too! If you like Greek/Mediterranean food then you can't go wrong with Othello's . Can't wait to return!

Excellent family meal to celebrate a birthday. Service was spot on and the food was out of this World. Starters, mains and deserts were all well presented, tasty and of an exceptional size. I had the sardines and Othellos Special and would recommend both. Can’t wait to go back for more :-)

We went with a group of 50 people, the service was excellent. The food was fantastic, from starters to coffees. It was fresh and hot, which is no mean feet when serving 50 people. The starter plater is to die for, and Lamb chops, meatballs, steak, salads are all excellent. A big thanks to all the staff for a lovely afternoon.

My first time visiting and did not disappoint othellos accommodated for our very large family gathering everybodys meal was fantastic and out on time the staff were brilliant and worked very hard cant wait to visit again

What a fantastic surprise retirement party for my sister. Everything went according to plan. Over 50 guests who were all seated by the time I arrived with her. The food is amazing everyone complimented, the service is outstanding and staff very approachable. We all had a great time and nothing was too much trouble, can’t wait to return! Went for a meal on a Friday night...still a great experience...been quite a few times over the years. Not for a while though due to Covid restrictions. It has not lost its charm...food still lovely..staff still friendly.

The best Greek restaurant I’ve been too. We always get the mezze and it is so fresh and tasty like nothing you would get in another restaurant! Service is always brilliant too and staff are so attentive. If you’ve never tried you need to go!

As always food is amazing and constantly consistent I had the stiffado and missus had the lamb special we both had the salad/rice and chips oh and a couple of bevvies each obviously

Great atmosphere for our gathering of 12 including two young children. Well looked after, high chair for the youngest, nothing was too much trouble. Plentiful food meant takeaway also. Would recommend Othello for any age and group size. Friendly and welcoming staff. Give it a try!

We visited here on Sunday after going to Chester races… the food is always spot on and the service to match… We have been coming here on and off for years, and I must say in the past few years it’s got so much better…. We always have the starting platter which is outstanding a little bit of everything on it. We also had Stifardo last night for the 1st time and it was absolutely unbelievable… Thanks so much to you and your lovely family for always making our visit so enjoyable x

This is our favourite greek restaurant. We have visited many times over the past years and have celebrated birthday parties of up to 40 people to anniversary dinners for 2. There is always a warm welcome from Maria and the team. The food is amazing, it's so authentic even better than restaurants in Greece that we have visited! We can't resist the Meze as we love the different variety of dishes but have also had the steak, kleftiko and stifado which have all been amazing, the meat just melts in your mouth. The menu is very reasonably priced too, and you get A LOT of food for your money. Would highly reccomend! There is a small carpark on site but if that is full you can park in the Aldi carpark nearby. The restaurant doesnt have card payment facilities so take cash or they accept cheque.

Been a while from out last time to Othello's but have to say it doesn't get any better family members attended last night and as usual a lovely evening with the best Greek food served in Liverpool by a long way atmosphere perfect food outstanding service you can't fault Marie and family run this restaurant like a Swiss watch can't wait to be back again.just have a lovely meal here you Will be back again test assured.

Maria and Gerry can't do enough for you, from custom alterations to meals to squeezing you in even when they're fully booked.We miss visiting in person but have made the most of the takeaway service over the past year. We only live a short walk away from this restaurant and thought I would write a review as we have been here a few times. Now while COVID we have avoided going out as where is the enjoyment in being told to walk this way follow the arrows where's you mask you can't have the table for that long you have to leave. Non of that here as well as the food being incredible! And the portions! Oh my days...huge, we felt like we were dining out pre covid it was a pure pleasure. NOW that's not to say everyone was dancing on tables coughing a lung of Rona in your face, this just means that we have all lived with covid now knowing where and when to wear your mask to have the distance between one another, come on we're responsible adults and this is how your made to feel here. Was a pure joy loved it. Going back this weekend to pretend this pandemic doesn't exist for a short while at least. The staff and owners should be proud. Boss little piece of Greece right at out doorstep

Wow, 100 out of 10! Covid friendly, staff attentive, setting lovely, food amazing with portion sizes not to be complained about. Food excellent, house wine delightful being Pinot Grigio. We are hooked.

Othellos is our place to go when we want a proper authentic family cooked meal that we know NEVER disappoints!! Obviously given the current lockdown rules we had a takeaway instead. Maria does her absolute best to accommodate you even when you give little to no notice like I did myself!! We live about 25 minutes away and within me messaging Maria she was on the phone straight away taking our order! We always order the meze but we usually change a few things but as this is our absolute must go to restaurant Maria knows we change a few things, and we always add the garlic mushrooms as they are a must!! given the fact we haven’t had food from here since august Maria still knew....that could be down to the fact we have been coming here for over 15 years now!! It took me the best part of 2 hours to get through my meze and I feel like I’m in a food coma the portions are that big!! Even my husband doesn’t eat beetroot unless it’s from othellos, my daughter doesn’t eat calamari unless it’s from othellos and I don’t eat meatballs unless it’s from othellos!! Gutted we haven’t been able to sit in and enjoy the excellent service from Maria, Gerry and their team but when you can still eat their food in the comfort of your own home then they are definitely doing something right!! Keep supporting our little family run businesses and then when lockdown is over we can enjoy othellos that bit more and the husband can have his usual bottle of keo and I can stick to my rose! Thanks Maria & team for yet another amazing meal!!

We have used this restaurant a few times over the years but this time we decided to use the takeaway food menu.And was delighted with the takeaway service the food was excellent with plenty to go around considering such a big order. I would highly recommend Othelos even during these trying times for its takeaway service.

I love this restaurant.My husband and I have just been for a meal at Othellos and it never fails to please.For starters we had Falafel, Louganita and Spanakopittes...what a delight the mixtures of textures and flavours were.For main I had Chicken Aphrodite which was chicken in an extreemly creamy sauce with a hint of Ouzo accompanied by rice and a deliciously crisp fresh greek saladThe staff are always plesant, polite and courteous and nothing is too much trouble for them.Othellos is a must, can't wait for our next visit

If you love authentic Greek food with the traditional warm Greek family welcome this is the place for you! The food is fresh, full of flavour and always of the highest quality. It’s like being in Greece. A family run business you are always given a warm welcome and excellent service. During the pandemic the restaurant is also running a takeaway service which is ideal if needed as we have, same amazing restaurant food in your home! Highly recommended.

Maria her husband and their sons provide fantastic food and top service. It’s clear they know their food and can advise you with their sound knowledge. Nothings too much trouble and the quality of the food and the portion size is spot on. It was our first visit but it certainly won’t be the last. Ample parking too !!

Back to our favourite place today for sons birthday. As usual did not disappoint. Food was gorgeous, I can recommend Lamb Kleftacon. We all enjoyed our meals. Marie and her team really look after you and make you feel welcome. We'll see you again soon.

This is a restaurant we have used many times in the past and also it has a takeaway service which is second to none.today we had Beef Stiffado and also the Orthello's special with rice salad and Greek potatoes both meals were absolutely beautiful and well priced staff are very attentive.We will be returning again very soon.

Wow, wow, wow! This is the best Greek restaurant.We live near Oxford, but have family who live nearby and Othellos is the highlight of our trips to Liverpool! The food is fresh, tasty and plentiful. The service is the perfect level of attentiveness.After our last visit I ordered my husband a take away as he was not able to join us. He said the humus was the best he has ever had (and he eats a LOT of humus!). Everything we have ever ordered has been amazing, we have eaten here 4 or 5 times. Highlights so far have been the Whitebait, the beetroot, the Greek salad and the tzatziki for starters. Mains we have had so far are the kebabs, meatballs, Greek sausage, Othellos Special Lamb, fish dish. They are all amazing!

My mum has been going to this restaurant for years, not sure why I've never been before. Chicken Aphrodite was incredible. All the food was. Portions are massive and such good value. The service is the star of the show though - ask and it's on your table in seconds, staff never sit down, they're so attentive. Thanks for a lovely night x

As someone who kept strictly to lock down rules, this was our first outing following the easing of restrictions. We chose Othellos having always previously had great food and excellent service. We were not disappointed. Given the restrictions still having to be employed we thoroughly enjoyed our early Sunday afternoon meal similar to previous visits. I can recommend this for any one who may have concerns about going out for the first time since lock down.

We visit Othellos for all our birthday celebrations and our wedding anniversary! As our birthdays were all in lockdown we were devastated! Then the news come through that our fave place was back open for my wedding anniversary!! Table booked and a week before I became ill and bed bound, I held off cancelling the table in the hope we could still make it! Unfortunately I couldn’t go so I messaged Maria on the day and asked if I could switch to a takeaway instead! Anyone who knows Maria and the team at Othellos will know that Maria said yes. So the hubby was sent on a 25 minute drive to pick up our meze which we always have as we like to have a mixture and know we are never left hungry and we always change a few things, we have been coming to Othellos for well over 15 years now I don’t even need to tell Maria what we swap because she is so professional and looks after her customers so well she even knows what to swap for us! We also always add on a portion of the brandy mushrooms....amazing!! A 25 minute drive home and the food was still piping hot and just as good as if we sat in Othellos my only disappointment was my waiter (my husband) wasnt half as good as Mike, Charlie or James! I was so happy to finally get my order not many photos were taken before the food was devoured! Portions were just as big as if we ate in Othellos which meant your never left hungry! The food and service is amazing and somewhere I really can’t rate high enough! Maria, Gerry and the team go above and beyond every time and nothing is ever too much hassle! As soon as I’m healed and off bed rest we will be booking a table to celebrate all of our lockdown birthdays just so we have an excuse to return....not that an excuse is needed!! If in doubt please try Othellos you will not be disappointed by any of it! Once again Thankyou so much Maria and team for an amazing taste of perfect home made Greek food!

We came to Orthellos on a reccomendation from a friend. We got the mezze and it was fantastic, so much food and all so delicious. Feels very authentic and traditional. Staff were lovely, nothing was to much trouble. Will definitely be returning.

Who said you can’t get a nice Greek meal while in lockdown been craving Greek since lockdown and this restaurant truly delivered . Although only takeaway it is as if you were eating it at the restaurant . Gerry and Maria never disappoint, piping hot food and plenty of it . Can’t wait till we are out of lockdown it’s the first place we will be going .

Othellos are now doing takeaway during lock down, highly recommended, food was amazing as always, portion size fantastic. No problem with pick-up all social distancing rules adhered to. So happy we can now have our favourite Greek food.

Absolutely love Othello's and was delighted when they decided to offer a takeaway service! We ordered the day before to guarantee our order. We went for dips, bread and a few starters plus 2 mixed grills. By the time we got round to opening up the mixed grills they were still piping hot which was great (we live a 10 minute drive away from Othello's, so please don't be put off if you don't live within walking distance as it won't matter). The standard of food is just as good as eating in the restaurant, large portions and tasty as ever. We will definitely be ordering again and supporting this wonderful local restaurant and can't wait for them to fully re-open. When I read Othello's we’re open again for collection, honestly I was like a child waiting for Christmas Day!!!!My husband rang ordered the Meze for 2. Halloumi kebab & chicken kebab. All was ready at allotted time & as you expect from Othellos food was superb!!!!Only minor complaints were the waiter aka my hubby is not as pleasant as Mike, Charlie & James!!! And when we were finished instead of coming away we had to do the washing up....aka my husband again got allocated that task Honestly will be doing this again until Lockdown over and we can once again go in person to see Maria, Gerry & the gang!! Thank you⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Othello's is the go to restaurant for date night for me and my better half. Once we heard it was open offering takeaway during this turbulent time we had to have one.

Absolutely wonderful delicious food, there was a delay which is understandable in these circumstances and it being there first night of opening again for take out.

We went to the restaurant on a Sunday evening for a family meal with four adults. The staff were lovely, accommodating and friendly. The food was beautiful some of the party had meals and the others had a banquet and every dish was lovely. We will be coming back here again!

We ate there on Saturday 7th of March 2020 7 adults 1 little girl aged 8 and to babies they accommodated everyone superbly the service was 1st class the food was amazing everyone had starter main and desert plus drinks soft and alcoholic less then £200 for all those people would highly recommend it

Haven’t been here for a while due to a family bereavement. But took my mum and family out for a meal in Sunday. The food, drinks, service and overall experience was excellent.

We have been coming to Othello's for years. Marie, her family and the rest of the staff make us feel so welcome every single time we visit. The food is always spot on and plenty on everyone's plate. A warm and friendly atmosphere where nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend the Meze both meat and fish. If you visit you will not be disappointed. A local gem of a place. We haven’t visited Othellos for some time as we had been away from Liverpool a lot. We weren’t disappointed when we returned there a couple of weeks ago. The food was still of a high standard and the staff are so helpful and friendly. A restaurant that, for us, is within walking distance is really good especially as they do a great bottle of Makidonekos a very enjoyable red wine. The reasonably priced house wine isn’t bad either. Enjoy.

Everyone who works at this excellent and well known Greek restaurant are lovely. They work tremendously hard to make sure guests have a great experience and really care about what they do. Cannot give enough credit. Lovely restaurant, fantastic food and service was top notch. Limited parking but plenty of parking on the local side streets. Reminds me of Dr.Who's tardis, bigger on the inside than from outside so don't let that put you off. If we are ever in Liverpool again we will go back

We have been visiting this restaurant for the past few years and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is clean and spacious and the staff are friendly and attentive.

What a visit for our first time. Couldn’t fault any of the food: chicken Aphrodite was delicious, kebabs were demolished by the kids, meatballs were some of the nicest we’ve ever had. Staff all great and offering advice on what to order. Definitely be back again.

Had great meals here over the last year and is by far the beat place to eat outside of the city centre. Had a business night out here too and everyone was fully satisfied. Can’t rave about the quality and portions enough. Absolutely the best Greek food in Liverpool. Meme for two is massive and varied, I preferred the mixed grill personally to get a mix of everything. My wife on a trip here said it was the best Mousaka she had ever eaten, and we lived in Greece for 7 years.

If you are a vegan travelling in the area or local, this could be a hidden gem for you! To be honest there is not a tremendous amount of choice for vegans but the options that you do have are superb, especially the home made falafel is probably the best Ive tasted anywhere! It comes served with a healthy bowl of rice, sliced potatoes and side salad and is definitely value for money (you will not leave this restaurant feeling hungry, they make sure of it!) The restaurant itself looks lovely, its got its own little vibe going on and the staff are very professional and welcoming. I have taken my friends and family to Othello's and will be coming back for more!! A slice of Greece. Love it.

About 20 of us came to celebrate my sons birthday. My wife and I arrived around 1.55pm they open at 2.15 pm we were basically told to go out as they were not open, we thought why was the front door not locked then?

Siempre quise venir aquí viviendo tan cerca de Othellos, ¡y no me decepcionó cuando lo hice! El hummus estaba delicioso, el pastel de queso feta y espinacas estaba maravillosamente crujiente y afilado con queso feta. La "salchicha bien condimentada" era buena pero no tan condimentada como me imaginaba. El kebab estaba bien carbonizado y sabroso, pero podría haberlo hecho con una salsa de algún tipo para acompañar el plato. El baklava estaba totalmente en punto y el mejor que he tenido en Liverpool a cierta distancia. ¡La ensalada viene en porciones generosas! ! Me gustó la agradable configuración hogareña y el hecho de que en realidad atravesaba una casa normal como la puerta de entrada. El personal era amable, pero nos pareció extraño que tuviéramos que pedir activamente el menú de postres después de que se despejaron nuestros platos principales. ¡Definitivamente volveré! !

Le hubiera dado a este restaurante una calificación más alta ya que la comida es buena, pero están engañando a los clientes al no dejar en claro que es un restaurante solo en efectivo. ¿Por qué no se indica esto en su sitio web? Cuando visitamos a un grupo de 6 personas y no teníamos suficiente efectivo para pagar la factura, la directora sugirió que retiremos dinero del cajero automático cercano o proporcionemos la dirección de nuestra casa y pasemos el dinero al día siguiente. Lo siento, pero esto simplemente no es aceptable y me preguntaría hoy en día por qué cualquier restaurante es solo en efectivo.

Muy buen restaurante y excelente comida. Remolacha, ajo y aceite de oliva para empezar y cerdo a la parrilla con ensalada fresca de arroz, papa y una canasta de pan. También comieron en nuestra mesa queso Mac, sopa del día, albóndigas de carne y platos a la brasa de pollo. Comimos mucho, muy delicioso. Ambiente agradable también y cuando me trajeron un pastel de cumpleaños, la mayoría de los clientes cantaron 'feliz cumpleaños' y luego me aplaudieron al final. El camarero (Mike o Mark no está seguro) y la camarera muy amable con nosotros, nada fue un problema para ellos. La comida se entregó rápidamente y estamos planeando volver pronto. Elegimos nuestra comida del menú fijo.

The best authentic Greek food. We come from Blackpool especially to eat here. Fabulous food and friendly staff. A must for lovers of Greek cuisine
