Olympus Fishbar in Oadby and Wigston

I wanted to order mini fish and mushy peas at 1352 but was told it was too late to fry fish nor, even though they close at 1400! Bit strange I asked do you have any fish cakes, I don't eat meat they said know only chicken. They obviously wanted to close early, as no one was in the shop. Disgusting service not interested at all.

Ordered here a couple of times recently for delivery. Fish & chips were really tasty, nice crispy batter and the chips are really flavourful. Good portion sizes and they do some good meal deals. Nice to also see they make their own onion rings rather than using frozen like a lot of places do! Food has came piping hot every time, will be back again for sure.

Absolutely shocking order loads of times but today order turn up and it was completely wrong, cold and vile do not order from thaws they are vile, was not helpful on the phone at all vile dirt place

This is my local chippy so want it to be great but it truth its just about OK. Batter on the fish is a little thick, chips a little aneamic, southern fried chicken lovely and pizza good. All perfectly edible

Just had a take away. The fish, chips and pie were undercooked and cold. Fish was also poor quality. Won’t be going back. We have tried going back a few times and the chips are always a let down, wrapped so tight they become mashed potato.

SFC was raw and pink in most parts, also had a strange taste to it. Chips just as bad same weird taste and mostly under cooked, almost taste as if they are just raw potato… not happy! Normally never have a problem with this chip shop until today? Please check the chicken before digging in.

This place has really gone down hill !! I asked for large chips had to wait 10 minutes for them. Was served by a miserable woman if she smiled she may have cracked her face !! When I got home they definitely were not a large bag and looked and tasted awful they looked old !! I will not be going here ever again not recommended 😡

Lovely food, quick and friendly service. One of the best chippies in the area. We have been using this chippy for 10 years now and I recently accidentally forgot my wallet, they were happy for me to pay next time I came in, which is service you don't get often.

I have read some pretty harsh reviews about this place.I must disagree. Food is consistently excellent. The staff are as pleasant as you are to them. I always say hello before demanding my order and use please and thank you. Strangely enough, this tactic works well pretty much everywhere. 😀

Shockingly rude staff. Making people feel uncomfortable is NOT good business and I’d rather spend my money elsewhere. Food is mediocre.

Super small large kebabs 2 strands each of meat the rest is all salad never again am I going this place

They were alright a few years ago, but honestly they are just awful now. Minimum payment on card in 2023? Archaic, illogical and irrational - if not a dodgy tactic to put more cash in their pockets and avoid tax brackets. Point-of-sale and payment processing systems which allow small payments are both affordable and widely available nowadays, so there truly is no excuse for this. Their hours are odd to say the least. The food is shocking, Stephen Hawking's reanimated corpse could fry better food with a blowtorch and a bowl of milk. Soggy is an understatement - perhaps "wet" is more suitable. Also occasionally undercooked or just barely brought to safe temps, but generally all just tastes bland. Honestly going here is just a waste of life, and I'd say money too if they'd accept it. Judging from other reviews I think the only word I can use to describe this establishment is "scummy".

They have a minimum card payment in place which is inhuman and outdated, especially post-covid. Portions are large and the meat is decent, lots of sauce, but the chips are soggy.

Just been to order food got home one of the items (chicken nuggets) was missing so had to go back. When I did get back home my partner informed me that mine and our sons pies were both cold. Absolutely shocking service wont be using this place ever again

They said there too busy to deliver. Surely there customer base would be better if the offered delivery like they advertise. guy on the phone was so rude. "No deliveries bye" Even turned off the just eat app. There food ain't that great anyway

What happened to this place?! Used to be the best chippy for miles. Cod wasnt even cooked and the chips were soft and soggy and looked as though they’d been stood for days. Vile. They’ve lost good customers in my family. Don’t waste your money.

I have just picked up chips and a fish cake, large curry sauce. The chips went straight in the bin they were cold and dry the fish cake was cold too. I definitely won’t be going back

I ordered Chicken Meat and Chips ( £5.30 ) and asked to pack the chips and the meat separately, although they charged me everything separately and I paid £2.20 for the container = total amount £7.50 I wish there was any previous service, everything was always flawless till today

Chips soggy and horrible I don’t eat chips very often it was as a treat but was very very disappointing. Not eating from here again it’s put me off buying chips!. Waste of money.

Best kebab i had really fresh, nice and great service

It's OK. Really shame their kebab chilli sauce is bottled and not homemade. The chips could do with cooking a little longer generally they are often soggy. If only they got to grips with double fried as their oil taste is nice. The chicken kebabs ok but their lamb is obviously a low grade. Batter is heavy not light and crispy how I like it.

Right get this, one time the chicken and mushroom pie was so "off" that it stank,.. having said that sometimes the food is really nice, I guess "variety is the spice of life" ... Ironicly the "spice of death" is the secret ingredient in thier chicken and mushroom pie.

I have been going here for years but in the last 4 months I have been given effectively RAW FISH twice I will NOT be going back once is a mistake twice is incompetent

Having moved into the area, it was nice to know there was a good takeaway nearby. However the service we have had the last few visits I found that some (not all)staff are rude. Very rude, no eye contact, no please or thank you or a smile, basic manners. I feel this is basic expectations when you are serving the public. I was made to feel awkward placing an order which shouldn’t be the case. Manners cost nothing. However food has always been good.

I have been using the Olympus fish shop for more that 7years.the food is excellent and always fresh.I have never never considered the staff rude as some reviews say.sometimes they maybe are too busy to chat or just dont like you cos you've been rude to them.??I have never thought when leaving"Oh she was rude".ive always been treated well and the fish is amazing....and the chicken tikka...and the pizza and the pineapple rings..etc etc. Thank you Olympus for helping to give me a varied diet!!!(p.s Rosie loves her sausages)

This is a lovely fishbar which offers a varied menu including pizzas. They have an offer in which you buy one medium pizza and get the second one free, this is very useful when you are feeding several children! The food is freshly cooked and always piping hot. The staff are friendly and helpful. The chips are delicious, just like seaside chips! You can ring an order through and then just collect which is very useful. I would thoroughly recommend it.

I thought the area was nice and peaceful. The place is in a nice open area that's just plain relaxing and inviting to me.

My family have been visiting this place for over 7 years now and the food has always been top quality, fresh and delicious. The prices are fantastic, especially getting buy one get one free on pizza! Great value for money. There's a reason the locals visit frequently :) The only reason I give it 4/5 is because some of the staff are really unfriendly/rude at times but hey ho. Can't have everything.

A Very Popular & Busy FishBar - Various Variety.

Repeat customers, perhaps too often for our own good but we can smell when they're frying and it tries to lure you in on the breeze! Pizza slices are priced okay but tasty, fish and chips nearly always great with a good balance of batter to cod. With a couple of young boys we often find one small chips can be shared between us all. I'm pretty sure it's a 5* food hygiene rating as well!

Popular local chippy on the Fairfield Estate, queues out the door sometimes with plenty of regulars, including my family. Good value on plenty of items, small chips good price and get lots, range of meal deals and choice. My favourites are chicken and/or doner meat with chips or large cod and chips (serves two!). Gets really busy at lunchtime with trade from the local factories so they must be doing something right!

i actually had a battered sausage from there this evening it was devine. I love how chunky the chips are, i dont like thin wapher chips! We are lucky to have a fish and chip shop so nice on our estate!
