Ollivers Restaurant in Lewes

Olivers myself and my partner went on the 15th of February...the staff were so lovely and friendly, and the food was amazing I will be back again an again.

Absolutely faultless! This restaurant is a real find, this is the first time visiting Oliver’s tonight, and the food is exceptional as well as the customer service we received. We visited because of the fabulous reviews we read on line and the menu offered and it truly is amazing!! Highly recommend :)

Not been to Oliver’s before a friend booked it for his birthday…. It was absolutely amazing from entering the restaurant until leaving it was a great experience The food is just out of this world the service the same I couldn’t fault anything…I will be back sooner than later …,a great night was had thank you Oliver’s

Absolutely excellent. The best restaurant for miles. Lovely freshly cooked innovative food choices and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Definitely worth a visit - and then return for more!!

This independent restaurant is a reminder of how things should be done. The menu is varied and interesting and the food is made with love and it shows. The service was warm, friendly and unobtrusive. Special mention to the parsnip soup and brandy snap baskets - amazing. Great value for money and the fact it’s always booked well in advance should tell you all you need to know. We will be back!

Disappointed:( I just moved to seaford and I was so excited to take my my mum for a nice dinner. The starters were amazing however the soup was absolutely tasteless . They were polite and gave us a sorbet . For the main dish we ordered Seabass and it was very fishy and tasted like it wasn’t fresh . Me and my mum are not picky at all but we just took 3 bites of it as it wasn’t edible . The desert was good tho . Never going back as we just had this fishy aftertaste all evening

Always lovely eating at Ollivers. The food isn’t very adventurous and hasn’t changed much in all the years I’ve known it. It is quite old fashioned but you know what to expect and it’s always cooked well. Expect a whole evening out as there are lots of small courses. Great value for the quality of the food.

We were a family party of 9 and were made to feel very welcome by Steve. We were more than impressed with the quality of the food and presentation was first class. A short but well chosen wine list produced some enjoyable bottles to go with the food. An excellent evening out.

After spending a very hot day on the spectacular Seaford Head golf course, we were ready for a nice dinner. Despite the fact that we hadn't booked, Steve found us a very nice table and made us feel so welcome. The quality of the food was beyond our expectations and we loved every minute of our evening at Oliver's. Many many thanks to Juliet for her wonderful dishes and to Steve for keeping us entertained. We will certainly be back the next time that we find ourselves in Seaford. A total delight !!

First time here on recommendation from reviews. For 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. Could not fault this restaurant. Booked well in advance and was very happy with result. Excellent well priced menu, locally resourced produce. Good wine list and fast efficient service. The owner is a good host and adds to the conversation regarding the area around Seaford. Would certainly visit again when in the area.

We enjoyed a lovely meal whilst on holiday in the area. Very creative and imaginative dishes. The background music was very quiet, which was great for us. The proprietor was very welcoming, entertaining and attentive. The restaurant is only a minute walk from Seaford station.

Out of this world!!! Been a few times now and it’s just my favourite place ever. Steve is just brilliant

We visited Ollivers not having been for a while. It was as warm and welcoming as ever. The meal was delicious. The quality and standards are still the same which seems to be a rare thing at the moment. Excellent value for money, the drinks prices are good too. We won’t leave it so long next time. We had a wonderful evening. What a treat! Absolutely superb.

We have been to OLIVERS many times, and introduced several groups of friends to the delights of this restaurant. Food and service are exceptional. The menu changes every month and the large choice of dishes are very imaginative and tasty.

Fantastic food and service as usual. We always leave this place with a big smile, feeling very satisfied after a sumptuous meal. Steve always look after us like we are royalty.

After 4 years and Covid I returned to this restaurant. The vibrancy had gone and it was looking dated. Both chicken and steak mains looked and tasted tired although they were served in copious amounts with buckets of vegetables. An initial amuse bouche was a flavoured biscuit and this was followed by rather bland soup that did not add anything extra to the procession of plates. Overall we ended up full but not satisfied. Perhaps this was a one-off. I certainly hope so.

Ollivers is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The whole experience is perfect...not just the food but a warm welcome. However, the food is something else, not only looks beautiful and tastes beautifully too. The chef, I believe to be the lady owner is amazing...amuse bouche to start of the journey and a cheeky little food gift after the starter. My dessert of three little samples of the main desserts was a fitting end. And real mint in my tea. It was my first visit and I will certainly go there again..

We went here for a special occasion with friends. I am celiac and I had more than one choice. We had the lamb and the salmon. The mushroom pate starter was superb. Every bite enjoyable.

Our Tangent group of ladies meet at Olivers every November for our posh Nosh meal. We are never disappointed. There is always a great choice of food which we preorder. Steve & his team are efficent & friendly. As well as the meal we have ordered he servers little canapés & pallette cleansers. Usually a parsnip soup or a sorbet. It's the small attentions to detail which makes Olivers stand out above all other Restaurants. I look forward to my next visit.

his restaurant is never a disappointment. Yes it is a small and non typical menu, no you cant have chips, no they don't use a microwave. Yes the food is all freshly cooked and locally sourced, yes the vegetables are well cooked and served hot. The service is very professional and friendly Steve the owner makes all his customers feel special. Included with the three course Christmas meal (all within the set charge) are amuse bouche on arrival, homemade, soup or sorbet between starter and main courses and coffee with home made petite fours. The deserts are ball home made and really good making the evening experience enjoyable and fantastic value for your money. The drinks are priced fairly and the wine is not over priced. Between then 20 of us we tried most of the choices. We have booked for next year. If you have not tried it it is a good venue for a special night out with someone special or a group get together,

If you have not tried this Restaurant, you have missed out on a true gem. Excellent menu, Seasonal food cooked to such a high standard my mouth is watering as I type this review. Every year our Tangent group come to Ollivers for our posh nosh evening. The food is always lovely with lots of choice. Steve is an excellent host. We usually preorder our meal & there is always a small soup or sorbet to cleanse our pallette. There is always a very wide selection of desserts. So much choice. This is such a fab place to dine in Seaford. I look forward to my next visit.

We visited Ollivers for the first time and I’m kicking myself for not going before! We received a really warm welcome from the owner Steve and were impressed with the cosy restaurant, which feels quite exclusive, but not at all in a poncy way. Ollivers change their menu every month, and there was a really good choice of food and wines.

Fully booked on a Wednesday night in late October tells you just how good Ollivers at Seaford is. This was our first visit. Very warm welcome from Steve, well priced drinks, nice ambience, absolutely excellent food - spinach roulade with a fab hazelnut and mushroom filling, goats cheese salad, the sea bream special and the mixed deserts option especially. Overall, very good value and a place to come back to. Thanks to all at Ollivers.

This restaurant is easy going with excellent high quality food and a good atmosphere. It is not pretentious or haute cuisine but you will come away satisfied and looking forward to your next visit. There is a varied menu which is fixed in price although some courses come with a supplement. The banana bake and bacon for starters is unusual so should not be missed. Pork Loin main was beautifully presented and served with perfect roast potatoes. As expected the desserts are enticing although the syrup pudding did not contain any surprises. This is a family run enterprise and service is friendly. I think booking is essential here, certainly in the evening. We paid around £42/person and this included wine and a cocktail. Sure it is more expensive than surrounding restaurants but still a fair price for the quality of food and experience.

Really nice food, lots of little extra touches such as sorbet or soup between courses and homemade shortbread with the bill. This is definitely a “special occasion” restaurant as it’s not cheap, but the food is good and fresh, service is excellent and the menu imaginative.

Really surprised to find such a great restaurant in Seaford. Three of us went for dinner and ate locall sardines lamb rump and fillet steak and chicken with amazing jus and excellent vegetables. There were around 7 puddings to chose but the best was the trio of puddings taster! Service is chatty warm and friendly. We will go again!

We visited Ollivers last night for a family meal with the kids and granny. As always the food was amazing! Lovely choice of dishes and the clementine sorbet before main course even went down well with our fussier child.

We often go for anniversaries, must have been numerous times now, this time we took the family (parents, brothers and their wives). Everything is perfect from the time you walk in the door until you leave. The food is great and super service and Steve is the perfect host. Still cannot work out how he remembers the deserts. It's the best restaurant on the South Coast, We will be back.

Personal, friendly and helpful service, and great value for money. We only have one complaint... we live over 100 miles away.. please could you consider moving to Dorset so we can visit more often!! This small restaurant is completely successful & delightful. The menu is varied & fresh; all ingredients are local & cooked to order. The portions are HUGE-dieters be warned. We received a warm welcome and immediately were served dishes with amuse bouches. The menu was very imaginative with lovely vegetarian options. The warm peach starter was delightful. The fish of day was excellent and the pancakes stuffed with butternut, cheese and mixed vegetables tasted amazing. Very generous accompaniments of potatoes and vegetables. Great choice of desserts too. The service could not be faulted with the staff being passionate about the food and responsive to our needs. Thanks for a great evening.

I visit this place every year I am in Seaford and have just returned after 2 evenings dining and this is just the best restaurant in Seaford in my opinion. The food is very fresh and well prepared and cooked with an imaginative menu which highlights local fresh ingredients.

We got stuck in traffic and were looking for a restaurant to eat and were lucky to find this place. Steve is a great host and the food is just as good, had a wonderful evening and really recommend this restaurant "behind the blinds".......

First time we have dined at Olivers, the service and food is excellent , I can honestly say this is by far the best restaurant we have been to in a long time, so attentive to detail very friendly people run this establishment. I cannot fault anything ,we will definitely be going back, the menu is updated monthly so will go back in July, if we can get in as very popular.

This is among the top 5% of the very select restaurants in Seaford. Booking in advance is definitely recommended as it is an extremely popular eatery place and is always in demand. One can have two or three courses for a set price. Remember to go for the great desserts if you have the sweet tooth.

What a fabulous restaurant. Maggie, Pauline and I have been visiting Ollivers for a number of years. The excellent standard has never faulted. Quality of food is first rate and the service always with a smile. Just cant praise Steve and the team enough. It is a very special place and must be visited. What fabulous food and friendly staff! We attended a Birthday dinner for 40 people in addition to another party which was taking place downstairs. Service and food was amazing for so many people. A truly memorable evening.

8 of us had dinner in Ollivers on Saturday evening. Couldn't fault it, delicious food,great service & a buzzy atmosphere. I had the Asparagus to start followed by the Seabass in a Champagne sauce utterly delish.

We were staying in the Cuckmere Valley for a few days and needed to find a reliable restaurant for dinner. We found Ollivers on the web and were very impressed that 90% of reviews on Tripadvisor were 5 STAR and that a further 9% were 4 Star, so we made a booking.

We have busted Olliver’s many times over the years and it’s still as good as it always has been.

We've been enjoying this restaurant for more than 9 years and have been there between 6 and 8 times very year. Every meal has been exceptional and we have never had a bad one - such are the high standards. The secret is high quality food, simply cooked and beautifully presented. Some may find the menu - which is changed every month - a tad limited, but whatever you choose will be more than satisfying. In our opinion, restaurant food doesn't get much better than this, whatever you pay. Average price for a-5 course meal with a bottle of wine is between 45 and 50 UK pounds, although there's a cheaper 3-course option if you prefer. We think its the best restaurant in the area and couldn't recommend it more highly - but make a note, its only open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday.

Had a post Christmas meal for staff and partners, booked 8 of us into their private dining area. Great menu (that is updated regularly) with delicious dishes with high quality ingredients from local suppliers . Attentive and efficient service , good choice of wines, and quirky requests were dealt with willingly. Very good value, high quality dining.

The welcome was outstanding! Their squash risotto second to none. Sea bass special with samphire was perfectly cooked, although it was just one half of the fish. Roasties were ok, buttered carrots and broccoli not overcooked. A game pie was full of large pieces of meat with no grissle. The triple dish pudding of pavlova, strawberry ice cream and banana brandy snap with butterscotch sauce and cream was heavenly. A chocolate slices was nice but a little hard for me.

Well that was another top class meal. All four of us were overwhelmed again with quality food, great atmosphere & great service. I started with the crab bread & butter pudding which was amazing & so different. My wife had the mackerel pate (which I tried), this was the starter show stopper, simply to die for!! Main course i had the steak which had a surcharge but well worth it...melted in your mouth & perfectly cooked. My wife had sea bream & again so fresh & perfectly cooked. I had the Ferrero Roche cheese cake which was as delicious as it sounds & my wife had the trio which again she was delighted with. I’ve not even mentioned the sorbet & soup in between courses again brilliant. I think you now know what we thought of our meal at Ollivers. So worth the money as you don’t get this quality of ingredients & quality of cooking from anywhere else local that I can think of! We had a Fantastic meal here last night. Pure quality food AMAZING service thankyou to all the staff mainly Steve. Every course was delicious and we left absolutely full to the brim. If you havnt tried here its a must we will definately be back. 10/10. Thankyou Ollivers.x

This place never disappoints! The owners have maintained constantly high standards of food and service for the past 15 years. This is the nearest thing to fine dining in the area. None of this modern overpriced arty farty food touched by who knows how many sweaty long haired chefs to make sure a minute portion of food looks "Fantastic?" on your plate.

We had a really delicious meal here last night for our Nan’s 80th Birthday. The food was delicious. I had the trio of mackerel to start and it was amazing! Followed by the ‘catch of the day’- the champagne and shrimp sauce with the fish was incredible. We loved every course and were impressed with the service, especially for a table of 12 people. The waitresses were brilliant and the waiter was really attentive and friendly. Thanks so much Ollivers!

we had tried to book this restaurant for our Wedding anniversary but sadly was fully booked but we were put on a waiting list for that night or the following night . We had a phone call early the next morning saying that they could fit us in fantastic .And so was the food the service and the overall experience ..... we live in Hampshire but next time we are in Sussex we will make sure we book in advance so we can revisit this FANTASTIC restaurant . Had a celebration meal with a large group of friends. Meal was excellent. Steve looked after us very well and all the staff were friendly. We have eaten there before and it did not disappoint. Meat was cooked to personal choice and desserts brilliant.

An excellent, ever changing menu, all of it good and varied. A great wine list and superb front of house. Steve makes you seem swo welcome and he is attentive. Come here for a regular meal or a special treat, there are private dining facilities.
