we had amazing food served with friendly, professional service. Despite being fully booked the attention to detail was wonderful. Well done to Ceri and Matt for running Restaurant Four so well!

We considered ourselves very fortunate to get a table in such a small Restaurant. This is a fantastic Restaurant serving excellent food. The Staff are very friendly, attentive and provide excellent Customer Service. The Mussels are to die for, best I have had outside of France. My Wife had the Smoked Salmon and Crab which she said was divine. Our mains were a Chicken dish and a Beef dish both absolutely delicious

I have visited this lovely restaurant twice lately; once for a charity dinner with my daughter and friend in November, and the other time for Christmas lunch with a friend. The food is superb and the service both professional and friendly. I can honestly say that the Christmas lunch was the best I have ever enjoyed at a restaurant. Really bright setting, beautifully decorated; love the window seat. I will be back in the new year!

Restaurant Four is a small, cosy venue close to the centre of Falmouth. There are a lot of places to eat in Falmouth, but few proper restaurants with professional chefs (ie. not 'cooks') - and professional waiting staff. This is a proper restaurant - with excellent food and a decent wine list. This was our first visit and I took my family there for a kind of official start to Christmas festivities. The welcome was good and the waiter was very helpful and informative - Between us we had sea food based starters (I had gin cured sea trout with caviar and pickled cucumber ) - my vegan daughter had 2 starters ! My pork belly and mash main course was also delicious - we also had the stuffed turkey breast - and all washed down with a sensibly priced bottle of red wine. So, with some bread and olives, 5 starters, 3 main course, 3 delicious puddings and a bottle of good red - I felt that £163 was pretty good value. Ceri was delightful and helpful and I'd thoroughly recommend this place as a good and good value restaurant experience - as an antidote to some of the other vastly over priced places to eat in Falmouth.

My partner and I ate lunch here for a special birthday and we were blown away by how good it was. We had the set menu which was £24 for 3 courses which would be pretty good value anywhere but for food of this calibre was incredible. Honestly the best meal I’ve eaten in a very long time and great to find a restaurant offering interesting vegetarian options. We will definitely be back and thanks too to Ceri, our waitress, who was really warm, friendly and just the right amount of attentive.

The most amazing food a ever eat in Cornwall. I can’t describe how grateful I’m. I have a really good night. Thank you all the Staff and the chef.Recommend 100% to everyone who really appreciate good food. Isn’t just a beautiful plate they put in front of you….is a experience of mix flavours who go so well. Almost you can taste the love the chef put in the plate. Definitely will be back.

Went for dinner with a friend. The staff are welcoming and friendly and there is a relaxed more informal atmosphere which is nice for a small restaurant. The food is perfectly portioned and all the flavours worked so well together.I genuinely couldn’t find fault in the food at all. Everything was balanced just right and didn’t even think about needing any more seasoning or more sauce etc. all ingredients seemed super fresh and excellently cooked. A really nice place. Of course the price per dish is above a lot of places but this is fine dining and worth every penny.

We’re in Falmouth for the weekend and we’re booked to eat by my Husband. We’d walked past earlier in the day and had a look at the menu in the window. To be honest I thought it looked ok. Went back for dinner and had a lovely meal where the food and service were both excellent. The only blip to the experience was a table of people near us on their Xmas night out who were a bit rowdy, but that was the only minor blip. I had the rabbit terrine for starter, then the stuffed turkey followed by the affrogato with salted caramel rum. I will be back.

We visited on the recommendation of friends who had eaten here a couple of months ago and couldn't agree with them more. Lovely intimate restaurant owned & run by husband & wife team. After a friendly welcome from Ceri we struggled to decide from the wonderful choice of dishes on the menu. The service was great and Matthew's food was exceptional. Would highly recommend.

We visited restaurant four for lunch on a very cold windy Saturday in November. We had the three-course lunch and to be honest I could not fault my food. I started with the mussels and the sauce was truly amazing. My main was the venison fillet which was cooked to perfection and I had a selection of Cornish cheeses for dessert. This is a real hidden gem and I recommend you visit and try the food.

Went above and beyond to sort lilies and card for my partner for her birthday. The food was to die for. I honestly could not fault any part of our evening there. We were made to feel very special. Thank you so much to everyone working there tonight.

First time eating here and we were very, very impressed. Welcoming, knowledgable staff, interesting menu with just the right amount of choices, and outstanding food. The best meal out we’ve enjoyed in a long time.

My daughter booked a table here for her 18th birthday for the 4 of us. When booking she asked if the restaurant was wheelchair friendly, she was told yes it is wheelchair friendly. I have motor neurone disease and use an electric wheelchair electric wheelchairs have low ground clearance, the step into the restaurant was tapered, starting @ 1 inch at its lowest and about 7 inches @ its highest. If I'd attempted to go up the step my wheelchair would of grounded and turned around due to the step. My wife and daughter were VERY upset for me as this is potentially the last birthday I will get to enjoy with my daughter. I call BULL on this restaurant being wheelchair friendly, it is not and so my daughter was lied to. If you Google this restaurant and look at the images you can see the step for yourself

From start to finish we had a wonderful time celebrating our wedding anniversary. The restaurant decorated our table and had a card ready for our arrival which was very thoughtful. The food, drinks and ambience of the evening was delightful and high praise must go to Tasha and Miranda. You will not be disappointed!

We chose this restaurant for our 40th wedding anniversary. We hoped it would be special but really just relied on TA reviews to guide our choice not being from the area. We booked months in advance as it was also clear from reviews that the restaurant is small and gets very busy.I have to say the staff were wonderful and when we were shown to our table we found it had been decorated for our anniversary despite the restaurant being busy. All three staff working that night were friendly and welcoming particularly Tasha who served us. Although they were incredibly busy she took time to explain the menu and check if we were happy etc.We were both impressed with the food, we both had a mussels starter, and fish as a main it was cooked beautifully. The only thing my husband didn't like was the sweet; parkin which he said was too hard. My sweet was fine. We felt the restaurant provided excellent value for the quality of food and wine on offer compared to others we ate at in the 10 days we were in Cornwall.The atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzy and happy and we felt the staff went above and beyond d to make the night special for us. Last minute booking and we loved it. The two girls front of house were really lovely, smiley, friendly and attentive. We ordered the mussels and pigeon for starters … pigeon was nice BUT the mussels were without doubt the best mussels we have had !!!! For mains we had the Mushroom Wellington and the Cod… both were really great. Great atmosphere and we will return very soon. Thanks for a great dinner. Gary & Kim.

This was a gem of a find. We had a warm and friendly welcome from the girls. The atmosphere is spot on, beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, background music was just that, background (I can’t bear intrusive music levels). The food was absolutely divine. We chose the tasting menu and my husband had the pairing wines, everything was exquisite. We weren’t rushed through the meal and the girls were engaging and attentive. It was the perfect 30th anniversary meal! It’s a shame we live 7 hours away otherwise this would be regulars! Thank you to team Four.

Relatively small restaurant with approx 30 covers, very comfortable, great food. The short menu provides good choice and excellent quality - thanks to the chef. Good location too. Table service is friendly and efficient - thanks to Ceri and Tash for that,

We visited Restaurant Four on 6 October whilst on vacation and for an early celebration for one of the guests birthdays.There were no complaints from the 4 of us. The detail given to each dish was lovely and more importantly the produce was very good. The chef seasoned everything amazingly well, which was what we all kept commenting on as we passed our dishes around for each to try!Great atmosphere and service, plus thank you for a nice gap between each course. We did not feel rushed at all.We all had 3 courses alongside a lovely bottle of wine, beer for the guys and a cocktail to finish the night off.Highly recommended! Thank you Restaurant Four, we will be back when we are in Falmouth again.

Stopped into this lovely restaurant on the high street of Falmouth for a light lunch very well presented food with a taste of heaven from starters to dessert , atmosphere was lovely I was greeted and served by Tasha and was made to feel so welcome I will definitely be visiting again and I am glad I come upon this lovely place with great service and tasty food Mr James ***** 5 star from me

We went to have a lovely relaxed two course lunch to restaurant four on a Saturday lunchtime around a month or so ago. We were hoping the menu was as good as the number of tables that were occupied on numerous occasions when we walked by. I cannot believe that this little restaurant doesn't have a Michelin Star!! The food, the presentation, the service was all top notch and I absolutely loved the story of how Four was formed a young couple with four young children. The food actually made me cry it was like art on a plate that tasted as good as it looked and I didn't want the meal to end. Normally we'd never have dessert but it was all so good we ordered dessert too and it absolutely was delightful. Lovely wine, lovely surroundings and nearly every table full. PLEASE book this restaurant you won't be disappointed. Thanks so much, we'll be back!

A 5/5 from us for this gem in Falmouth. The food was faultless, perfectly seasoned and presented. We ate sea bream, cod, mackerel, perfect fresh samphire. Delicate vanilla cheesecake. Miranda looked after us beautifully. Isn’t finish our wine, which was recorked and given back to take home.

This is a brilliant place to enjoy really special food. Its busy and relatively cosy but the staff and chef are on top form. Terrific ideas and well presented.

Booked here for the last evening of our walking holiday on the south coast. What a wonderful last meal. The restaurant had a lovely welcoming cosy ambiance, and Tasha our waitress was very attentive. We had a three course meal which was delicious, beautifully presented and obviously made with top notch local ingredients. It is a shame we are not locals as we would certainly be regulars of this establishment! Thank you.

The restaurant was extremely accommodating for us even though we were late! The decor and ambiance in the restaurant was just simply lovely! The staff made us feel so comfortable and the service was amazing! Food was 10/10 and the cocktails were sensational!

We were served by Tasha who was welcoming, friendly and very accommodating. We loved the locally sourced food and it was exceptional value for money. The restaurant was clean, beautifully designed and the atmosphere was fantastic. The watermelon cocktail that Tasha made for us was absolutely amazing and we would highly recommend.

First time at this restaurant. The food was very good and the staff efficient and friendly. Allowing for the very small size of the restaurant I felt they had tried to fit in too many tables.

Absolutely the largest and most delicious mussels I have ever eaten. Sauce divine. We ate fish for all courses and were in raptures at range of herbs and spices to enhance every mouthful. Small restaurant 9/10 tables. Staff friendly, efficient and attentive

My wife and I booked for Sunday lunch and were surprised how quiet it was even though it was mid September.The reviews were really good and this restaurant is light, well designed attractive and welcoming.The staff were smart and greeted us warmly.Good selection of beers and wines.We shared the scallops to start.....perfectly cooked, no overpowering from either the bacon or black pudding, great pea purée and pea shoots. Lovely.We both went for the roast beef......wonderful vegetables accompanying, special mention for the red cabbage (not too astringent or appley) and particularly the cauliflower cheese. Also a gold star for the Yorkshire pudding...wow.Couldn’t manage a dessert as we were so full. This place is really good.....5 stars easily. So much so we overpaid as well as tipped!

We were searching for the Thai orchid, as it was an old favourite from years back. Then we stumbled on restaurant four. It was just about noon. We had a toddler and 4 adults. The menu was short and simple. We choose a mix of seared scallops, moules and seabass, and roast topside of beef all on the two course menu. This was an excellent surprise, portion was good and so was all the flavour. You can tell straight away they care about the quality of ingredients as well as the amount. Every item was spot on from the crispy Yorkshire to silky wine reduced gravy. Looks like a family run establishment and it deserves regular support from the community.

When I rang to book, the lady didn’t seem to know the restaurant name?I should have known then not to bother. The first course was excellent - scallops, black pudding and bacon with pea swirls. Then as I was waiting for my main - suddenly the place filled up with customers who seemed to seat themselves wherever they liked. A couple sat right next to me, totally unconcerned there was still a pandemic on. I had to go and complain and they were moved one table along. I apologised to him; heaven knows why?I didn’t enjoy my roast beef and Yorkshire because of this and also because the meat was dreadful. I can only think that the wrong choice of cut rather than the cooking made it tasteless and chewy. Anyway I was charged for a two course lunch and an additional starter, so another trauma getting that corrected. Honest opinion Steer clear. I would say more but it isn’t worth the effort.

I honestly can’t put into words how amazing our experience was! We booked for lunch on Thursday afternoon for our anniversary and weren’t disappointed. Food was beautiful and full of flavour, cocktails were amazing too. The food is worth every penny you pay. Staff are so friendly, helpful and down to earth which provides a welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed our meal and experience so much that we decided to book in December for a Christmas evening dinner! Will recommend this place to anyone in the future

On holiday in Cornwall and booked this restaurant for Sunday lunch. Had two courses - perfect pink roast beef, great roasts and veg including the best cauliflower cheese ever! Lovely Eton Mess and Affagato for hubby. If this was closer to home would go at least once a month. Great service. Definitely one to go back to and highly recommended,

Had no reservation but they luckily had a cancellation so we got a table. Very varied menu and best gluten-free menu I’ve ever been offered - nearly all main courses could be adapted to be GF! Food was great as were staff. We’ll be back!

We came here for our 10th year wedding anniversary a s it was perfect. This restaurant deserves to be number one in Falmouth. The food was absolutely amazing and was delicious from first mouthful to the last.We had the dairy free menu and it was so good especially the risotto that I had to question if it really was dairy-free as it was that creamy!! (It was!) We had the menu that paired wines with the courses and they truly matched them to perfection. The service was fabulous second to none and they really knew their stuff.They chose foods that were local and fresh and you could tell this when eating the food. The staff were very friendly and professional it was a pleasure dining here. I will definitely be back Thank you so much x

Final meal of our holiday and we saved the best til last. Food delicious served by friendly staff in very tasteful surroundings. If you are in Falmouth Restaurant Four is a must. You won’t be disappointed.

Our last lunch of the holiday and we wanted something a bit up market than burger and chips etc. We found this gem. Small but one of the best places we have eaten in Falmouth. Cocktails were yum, the food even more so and such personal service with smiles Highly recommended

We visited on Saturday evening with our friends who’d previously been in May and were astonished they remembered them and even which table they had sat at. The Service was discreet but efficient and the food exceptional. Such a shame we live 4 hours away as we would love to be able to visit on a more regular basis.

Beautiful tiny restaurant! The best food we had in Cornwall and we ate at quite a few “top end” restaurants and nothing compared to the taste of Restaurant fours food! Mussels were incredible but different sauce- by far the best in Cornwall! I had the cod which was incredible and my partner had the chicken and was equally impressed. Extra cocktail choices were delicious especially the frozen limoncello one and the cheesecake was to die for! Only thing they could improve was that it was disgustingly hot in there and there was no ventilation which is shocking due to covid. The waitress’s also commented on the heat and said “everyone in here wants the door open except one person”. I think this should be mandatory especially with how cramped it is in there. The service was also quite slow after the starts as well, waiting 15 mins for them to clear our dinner plates. Although they were lovely people they could do with one more waiter/waitress. Stunning restaurant and would definitely highly recommend!

Special meal for a family birthday celebration. Incredible restaurant with friendly and casual atmosphere. Front of house team absolutely lovely. Food was amazing, and we loved the fact that they offered kids sized portions of everything on the menu, which our ‘foodies’ loved!! Three of us are gluten free and it was a delight to have everything on the menu to choose from (having let Chef Matt know in advance). So many incredible dishes but general view from our family was that the Four Mussels and the Vanilla Cheesecake were the standouts.

My husband and I went to Restaurant Four during our honeymoon in Falmouth last week. We had the most wonderful evening and the team had thought of all the small details which made the experience so memorable. The food was outstanding and we will certainly be returning next year! :)

Lovely cozy atmosphere & the staff were extremely helpful. It was our wedding anniversary & we were greeted with a glass of fizz which was an unexpected yet welcome surprise. The tasting menu was delicious. Really fresh, varied & tasty dishes all complimented by beautiful wine pairings. It wasn't too heavy a tasting menu, however we still felt full by the end. Great use of local spirits for the cocktails as well. I would definitely recommend Four & I'm sure we will be back.

We chose a dish based on sea bream. Mine was white and succulent with good flavour. but my wife's was brown, dry and chewy to ea,t and flavourless. We called the waitress to sat her fish was overcooked, and she took it away. Menwhile I had eat mine, because it would have got cold.The manageress brought a replacement serving, but said loudly "There was nothing wrong with that fish, you know". We found this rude, and decided to leave.As we got to the street, the chef came up from a side street and shouted "There was nothing wrong with that fish, I've been a chef for years. Don't ever come here again."

Four of us really enjoyed our meal at Restaurant 4 - everything was perfect. Do try it if you can. We had both meat and fish dishes and all were spot on - as were the sweets.

This is a lovely little restaurant. No sea view BUT superb food and friendly service. The mussels and the squash risotto were some of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. Very tasty. Other dishes looked really good too. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and hope they do very well.

We had an excellent meal at restaurant four! The food was lovely and there was a good range of options. My husband had informed the restaurant it was our mini moon beforehand and they gave us a complimentary glass of fizz each. The owner and the staff work so hard during a busy period with multiple COVID procedures in place and they are all so friendly. Loved the decor too. It was our favourite meal throughout our stay in Falmouth and we will be recommending to friends and family. Make sure you book in advance, everywhere in Falmouth is busy right now due to staycations and you need to book ahead to avoid missing out on the best places!

Superb quality of food, well prepared and presented at a excellent price point, would definitely recommend. The "Four" mussels was so yummy super juicy mussels in a perfectly balanced sauce with the right hint of chili.

We have been to this restaurant on several special occasions and is by far one of our favourite places to have dinner. We were supposed to have dinner at another restaurant elsewhere in town this evening but, due to a covid scare the other place had to close for precautions. We phoned up restaurant four desperately hoping for a reservation as everywhere else had been booked up in Falmouth. To our delight the lady we spoke to was able to squeeze us in for a sitting at 6pm. So much appreciation for the lovely staff and amazing food. We weren’t made to feel rushed at all! Have never been disappointed and we’re really thankful they were able to have us!

The starter for the money was disgusting for the money! Made up with lots of greens!The main meal was luke warm and small portions! I would never wish to visit this place again. Not at all impressed!

The restaurant has a relaxed, unfussy ambience, with a warm welcome from knowledgeable staff. The standard of food and cooking at modest prices is going to make it hard to get a table in time, don't delay! The mussel starter, the hake, basically all the seafood were all excellent and perfectly cooked. One of us also had pigeon, looks like the meat is great as well. Veggie options. Dessert was impressive. Thanks folks.

We ate last Saturday evening and the food was excellent. The restaurant isn't cheap but the quality of the food justified that price. Our only disappointment was ordering a rum and coke and having to pay £2.80 for a can of Coke as the mixer. That mark-up seems rather excessive given the price of a double rum and, as this was the only spirit drink we had, meant that two thirds of the can was wasted. A small moan but it would be good to charge a sensible amount given the restaurant will be paying less than 50p a can for these. Overall though, highly recommended - just stick to wine and beer :-)

Where to start?! The staff were fantastic and so efficient, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was exquisite!!

Fine dining in this boutique bistro. Friendly efficient staff. Fish and shell fish were particularly good. Book to avoid disappointment.

Wow what a lovely intimate restaurant. We were well received and ordered in a timely fashion. The starters were excellent. I had pigeon which was well seasoned and had lovely accompaniment of blackcurrants and roasted squah divine. The main was even better sea bream on a lovely bed of pasta with parmesan infusion.A lovely bottle of sancerre to accompany the food was perfect. For dessert i chose the Cornish cheese platter which was divine. Altogether a really sublime meal Thank you

We booked this restaurant after seeing the other reviews on Trip-advisor and it was well worth it! Lovely staff. Delicious cocktails. Really tasty and well made food in good portions. Great atmosphere. Would definitely eat here again!

Food was fantastic but service not so great. We had to ask for more water, ask for more drinks, ask where our starter was...... no one came to ask how our meal was, staff seemed far more interested in chatting amongst themselves rather than engaging with customers. Such a shame as we had previously had such a good experience here.

Had a really enjoyable experience here. We ordered the scallops and mackerel to start, followed by the gnocchi and salmon.Good points: Tasty food, looked fantastic and evenly priced for ‘fine dining’. Also loved the colour scheme which coincidentally matched my bag and sunglasses!Bad points: The salmon thai dish wasn’t very heavy on spice as we had hoped and they would do well to introduce an amber ale to their drinks menu (goes great with fish).

Our first meal out in a year, and we definitely made the right choice. The lunchtime 3 course meal was stunningly good and really well priced. Everyone we met was lovely and chatty, and we felt genuinely relaxed. We will definitely be back!

Very excited to be able to visit Restaurant Four again and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent throughout and the service was friendly and attentive. Would have no hesitation in recommending our holiday let guests to make sure they visit this restaurant. Looking forward to coming again ourselves soon.
