My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a Sunday Lunch. I had roast lamb and my husband had roast pork. Both were excellent, lovely tender meat and crispy roast potatoes, plenty of fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection. A good selection of desserts which were delicious. It is our local which we would definitely recommend.

Just fnished a fabulous meal here at The Wheatsheaf on a Tuesday evening . What's not to like! Great choice on the Theme Menu, lovely staff, food to perfection (thank you Chefs), sticky toffee pudding so good I stopped talking! (Rare occurrence). Even the house red was stonking. Don't hesitate to come - you wont be disappointed. (We're coming back for my Birthday - Yippee!)

Went in for a Sunday lunch with my bestfriend who is a vegetarian, they had lots of options and the bar staff were all friendly and welcoming. The food came out very quickly and was piping hot and fresh, the portion size and value for money can’t be faulted and I would like to thank the chefs and well as the front of house staff Glen, Claire and Ann-Marie who brought out our food with a smile and made sure we had enough condiments and checked everything was okay, I felt bad for not being able to finish my food, it was delicious. I would highly recommend a Sunday lunch at the old wheatsheaf

We were four for Christmas dinner celebration on Saturday night. We arrived on time 7.30 pm, we’ve been told where was our table and we walked to the table ourselves. The man with tie came to take drinks order, put the drinks down and walked away, he looked rush and lost. The menu has been offered but he didn’t let us know what items run out or were low until we ordered he started to tell us the menu we wanted was finished then we ordered another thing he said it’s run out too, and two of us wanted the same menu he said only one left so we had to start looking again what we could have during he’s taking our orders he kept running back and forth to check with the kitchen because of lack of menu information before taking orders. He’s better had a good communication with kitchen before taking orders. After he finished taking the orders it was 7.48 pm I remember the time because I had the phone call in. We were in the same room that was surrounded by a few bigger tables with celebrations, the atmosphere seemed to be a good night for us too. When staff served food to other tables we all said oh food looks good, oh that’s food coming should be for us but it wasn’t until starters from a few tables had been cleared, their mains had been served and some tables had been cleared again but we still didn’t have our starters. I looked at the time it's been 40 mins and we all were very hungry, especially one of our friends who was an old lady nearly 80 year olds she was super hungry. I asked the lady staff that we were waiting for nearly an hour for starters, what’s happening hope the man didn’t forget our orders. She said sorry and went to check for us and came back and said they were very busy in the kitchen and food should be out soon we kept waiting but still no sign. My friend went to the bar, asked the man who took the order and we found out he’s the manager. My friend asked him how long will the food take as it’s been nearly one hour for 4 starters if the food are not coming out soon my friends would like to leave as they are very hungry …we all can’t believe what he replied to my friend, we didn’t do anything wrong or tried to argue, he said to my friend that IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE YOU CAN THEN I WILL CANCEL YOYR ORDER ! no apology or tried to talk to keep customers or do anything at all. We decided to wait and food came after 5 mins. The starters had been served at 8.50pm, one hour exactly for 4 starters. I understand that anytime if the restaurant is busy staff Breyer let the customers to aware of waiting time but he said nothing that mean the restaurant can manage it. We are sure that he forgot our orders and worse than that he had never come to our tables but walked passed and cleared other tables he completely ignored us from what happened. We went to pay our bill at the bar, he was there but said nothing. He’s the manager he must have known what went wrong each night on his shift and he should have done something at least saying apology for the food delayed instead of silent and run away. We are not a complainer but we all work in hospitality job in management positions too. Menu information should be in our head before taking order. If something go wrong that’s not from customer the manager should deal with it but his performance was like staff who’s just joined the team. We all really disappointed with his response by respond nothing. I’m writing this just about him and the way of his performance that wasn’t match to his position but in another good side we all enjoyed the food that’s why kept us staying until finish. I believe even if the food is good but service is bad from staff one day the restaurant will have only good food left in the kitchen but no customer because food need good staff to serve.

We came here as a medium-sized friendship group to catch up for lunch. With 8 of us, the bar staff were accommodating to make sure our lunches came out at a similar time so we could dine together. This isn’t always been the case here so we were pleased to see this, this time. The pie was enormous and portions this time were generous; a previous visit left us feeling portion size was rather stingy despite rising menu costs. The waitress was very polite and thoughtful.

So surprised to find a local pub serving a good Sunday roast for adults but does not serve child portions!!!! So a 3 year old has to pay for an adult roast and then leave 3/4 of it!!!!!. When it came to desserts we were able to have vanilla ice cream with sticky toffee pudding but our 3 year old could not choose vanilla ice cream in a bowl....she was only offered black forest, coconut or a crunchy ice cream.....this just does not make sense. As to baby facilities I was told there didn't offer highchairs but found out there are no baby changing facilities....the baby had to be changed on the floor of the ladies toilet!!!!! This is 2022....not 1922.....really shocked. Does this pub not welcome families??????

I don't think that this would be my choice for "special occasion" dining, but it is a really nice place for an everyday pub meal. Our daughter suggested it for lunch while we were visiting her and it was a really good choice. The pub itself is a nicely cared for traditional pub, with the benefit of a nice looking covered terrace for warmer weather. The staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. The beer is good and the food is good also.My daughter and my wife had the baked camembert starter, while I had the trio of seafood. To be honest, they were all probably a little over cooked and very, very crunchy, but they were pleasant enough. My daughter and wife then had the Sunday Roast Beef plus a side of parsnips. They both really enjoyed their food and said that the Beef was very tender. As I like my beef served a little pinkish, and we had ascertained that that was not how it was served here, I opted for the Beef and Chorizo Lasagne. I have to say that this was really very enjoyable. We will certainly have lunch here again on another visit to our daughter.

Visited this pub for Sunday lunch. Overall the staff were very friendly and the food tasted ok. The prices set for meals was expensive for the portion/quality that we received and we were left feeling hungry after paying what felt like an extortionate amount. There also was not much choice of food and no menu for children. I’m not sure that we would ever return here just because there are better pubs in the area that can provide good food for less the cost

We met relatives for lunch as this pub is roughly equidistant from us both. We thought we'd sit on the really pleasant patio area, but it was a bit cold, so sat inside in the restaurant section as the bar was full. The staff were attentive and could not have been nicer. The food was amazing for two reasons; it was all very nice and the chicken, leek and mushroom pie was homemade and delicious, and, for the present moment when prices seem to have hit ludicrous heights in the southeast, it was extraordinarily reasonable. The beer and coffee were both excellent - they really try to be good to their guests. What a treat to visit here, and we shall be back.

Good food. Good drink. Good atmosphere. We remain impressed how the pub follows the covid rules so carefully but with a lightness of touch that always keeps things friendly and relaxed. Many of the staff have been here a long time - which in itself says a lot - as have the loyal locals. Like many places, customer numbers have dwindled and a good pub like this deserves support. There is a good choice of beer, which is well kept, as well as nicely selected wines. The food ranges from a few fancy dishes, especially with the delicious starters, to old favourites such as pies and burgers. There is covered outdoor seating as well as a cosy interior. The welcome and service is always great. My advice: go and see for yourself!

Visited pub when in area visiting family as thought would be bonus to take part in half price government scheme. However reality was disappointing. A mixed grill priced at normal price of £14.95 comprised of one sausage, one chop and a very small wafer thin piece of steak, accompanied by small handful of chips and peas! Another member of party had chicken baguette and chips, I think this came in around £8 yet was a lettuce filled baguette with 3 small pieces of chicken! Others had other mains which were mediocre at best! I don't know if portions here are usually so frugal or of its to offset the deal? Service was very slow. 3 members of staff on duty and very few people in pub yet long waits for service and food! Wont be rushing back.

Granted, Father's Day may not be the best time to judge a restaurant on its merits due to crowding, but you don't expect a meltdown. We decided to sit outside, as it was very dark inside, but that meant a complete lack of table service. The starters were fine (we liked the Smoked Haddock Scotch Egg), but the mains were average, especially the burger. When we asked for an extra plate, we were asked why we would need that - as if it were way above and beyond the call of duty to expect extra crockery. Bizarre experience, which doesn't align with the usually good comments, so I will give OW the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and chalk it up to understaffing on the holiday.

I am struggling with food intolerances at the moment and I found that the waitress was very knowledgeable about the ingredients used. We re-visited the restaurant recently as a family group to celebrate my in-laws birthdays. We probably haven't been there for a year or two. There were six of us, including two with very specific food requirements. Despite being quite difficult with our requirements the staff were very accommodating and the chef amended the meals to suit us. The waitress who served us has worked there for many years and has a lovely bubbly personality and quite a dry sense of humour, which is exactly to our liking and, in our opinion, helps make for an enjoyable evening. I noticed that she was more reserved with some of the other diners, so she clearly knows how to judge her customers. The food was excellent, as we have always found on previous visits. We will try not to leave it so long before we visit again. One word of warning, which I don't think is quite clear from their website - the restaurant is only open in the evening. At lunchtime food is served in the bar. My review is based on an evening meal in the restaurant.

Friendly, fast ordering, meal was tasty. The only think I would say about the mixed meat Sunday roast was the stuffing was a little over cooked on the outside but the family in total enjoyed the starters main me desssrt. Would highly recommend

If you are looking for proper home cooked delicious food, this is the place. The pub itself is warm and welcoming and the staff are extremely helpful and attentive. Their wine and ale selection is very good and their themed nights such as their Burger Night is great. Well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Visited my son who just moved to Deepcut and decided to wait for him over a pint but returned for Sunday lunch and it was a great decision. I recommend booking a table as it gets busy, table 9 in the main bar is comfortable with lounge seating and chairs up to 8 people. Bar staff and waiters friendly and provide great service. The choice of meals were great and suit all ages, the roast dinners are to die for for lamb, pork, beef and chicken costing 9.95 to 10.55 sterling. Oh except "Chef, more crackling please on the pork roast it was less than 2 inches -see photo by roast potatoes!!!! Would return again.

Frimley Green has three pubs (four, if you count the one just over the border in Mychett). Each has its strengths and the Old Wheatsheaf’s are its food and service. We moved to Frimley Green a year ago and have always been impressed with what’s on offer. In fact, one of the plus points for the house we bought came from when we realised how close we’d be. Not the cheapest place in the village, to be sure, but it’s the place I’d take people for Sunday Lunch. The wine list isn't’ what it used to be (I remember Cloudy Bay and Penfold’s RWT a few years ago) but everything they have is fine and there’s always a good selection of ales.

The outside area if stunning and they must have the cleanest toilets I have ever been in. Staff are welcoming and friendly. We would deffinately return if we was in the area

I spent a few days on a recent trip trying to locate an authentic pub in London that had good food. Never found one. This is absolutely the best I have seen in the UK. Great place, really good home made food (pies, casseroles, burgers, etc), great selection of beer, very attentive and courteous wait staff. The food was actually excellent, especially the pies. Very nice outside patio area. Pub was crowded when others in the same town were somewhat empty. Lots of regulars and locals, plus. Had lunch one day, dinner the following day (Pie Night!!)

We have previously had lovely meals here and so we're confident of a good lunch. Unfortunately the meat was inedible, the veggies partly cooked and the gravy seemed almost antique. I was very disappointed. I will stick to liver and bacon in the week in future.

Arrived early to meet a friend for lunch. Lovely pub / restaurant. Cozy, real fire and nice coffee. Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Loved the decor! Expectations were high. Sadly, the food didn’t meet expectations. Burger was chewy and did not enjoy taste. Had mini dessert and coffee… Bakewell tart also not great. Didn’t enjoy that either. Such a shame, as the pub is so lovely. Food on the day let it down. Sorry.

6 Nations on , so I booked a table. I'm glad I did it was busy. Nice clean pub and looks like one when you walk in, staff we're friendly and not kept waiting, great atmosphere from regulars and pop in types like I was. Beer was fresh, our table was nicely placed for the TV screen. The order of food didn't take long and served Hot and was very tasty, yes we had puddings, sorry to say with chocolate, "there goes the diet" thoroughly great afternoon, well worth the visit, you even take your pet, plus there's a car park which you book in after arrival at the bar. This is a really nice pub, hopefully I won the raffle. Thanks .

Have been to stay for 2 nights. Couldn’t wait to leave in fact would have left earlier but had 2 gin and tonics before we decided it was so dreadful we wanted to leave. It’s dirty, unhygienic and when you complain the staff seem unable or unwilling to rectify anything. This place does not deserve the price tag it commands. I very rarely feel compelled to write a review but this place does not deserve anything but a dreadful review. I am appalled at the experience we had and the lack of action following our complaints. Utterly disgusting
