Such a shame what has happened here party of 8 of us came food order wrong ran out of steak poor customer service and no one really seems to care, I wont be returning .

The lunch menu has always been great with a good variety of food and very competively priced. Quite understand the need to increase the price of the lunch menu as it has been sustained for a long time. The revised menu is bitterly disappointing. Please take note of your clients feedback to reinstate previous choices.

I can't rate this restaurant highly enough. We were a large group of people of 30 and from start to finish the service was outstanding. The food was delicious and plentiful. Wonderful staff and nothing was too much trouble . I would definitely recommend. Thank you to all at Greek Taverna for making our evening so enjoyable.

Mixed reviews mean don’t bother, I really wished I checked reviews before going… the food was overcooked the service was crap never again! Not once did a member of staff ask if the food was ok… the rice very soggy…worse I’ve ever had.

I have been coming to your restaurant for years. I have to say this is the worst lunch menu the restaurant has ever had. Very small choice and not even new choices it's about time the restaurant used a bit of imagination and changed it for some new things to eat. One more thing your home made soup was such a good thing on the menu especially for the winter coming along even that is more.

Great for lunch. Great lunch menu. However, family n I have had many a great time celebrating with friends n family there for many years, both lunch and evening. I have no problem popping in by myself. Always had excellent service from Joseph and Pavlo. Nothing too much trouble. Food always fresh and cooked to order. Excellent value for money. Especially Love the calamari, n chicken kebab with amazing salad n saute potatoes. I'm not a lover of lamb but am told their kleftico is succulent. I can't recommend highly enough.

Went here for the tenth anniversary of the day we met. This place was our first couples date so wanted to re-visit. The staff were very nice we were offered seating in a totally empty area. A table for two. But not made aware that within 20 mins the area would be flooded with large groups. 50+ people. Hardly romantic. The noise was deafening. Food was lazy and average. Maybe time for a re vamp. You don't seat a table of two in a group area. Really disappointing. Even leaving was hard as staff concentrating on large groups so had to go and find someone to ask for bill.

Cannot understand why we have not eaten here before. Took my wife Jean here today for a birthday lunch . They had two lunchtime set menus both of which we were impressed with. The service was excellent as was the food and the final bill was extremely reasonable despite the multiple alcoholic drinks we each had. This may have been the first time we have visited this taverna but it will definitely not be the last.

After we was seated , it’s took a while for them to ask for our drinks. When we ordered food. It took 30-40 minutes to arrived, Meat was over cooked and dry. Food was thrown on the plate with no real care! Didn’t feel like they cared about you being there, multiple people was complaining whilst we was there also! With the kebab it came with hardly any salad Got the S**TS the next day as well! Would never RETURN.

Just wanted to leave an amazing review from our visit on the 23rd June. There was 14 of us celebrating a 30th Birthday. Booking the restaurant was really easy and when we arrived we was so shocked at how much bigger the restaurant is inside compared to the outside. We had a lovely large table upstairs. There were a few items that they didn’t have in but all of the food we ordered was absolutely amazing, no problems at all. There was a little wait in between the courses but that was expected for us being such a big table. All of the staff were friendly and service was great. They then brought out the birthday cake and it topped off a great evening. Would definitely recommend to my friends and we will definitely be visiting again and we all loved the food.

I really wanted a Greek restaurant and I thought, mm it looks dated but authentic! Well it wasn't! I'm a vegetarian and the food I wanted was off the menu, well lots of food was off the menu, we should have walked out then. My starter was a very small bowl of butter beans in tomato sauce, my husband had three vine leaf thingys which seemed ok My food was over cooked veg with rice mmm very exciting (not) my husband had oven chips a tiny bit Greek salad and mixed meat that consisted of one chop two sausages and three ball of chicken wrapped in bacon!!! We had two bottles of wine and it all came to 75.00 The service was poor the place still has Christmas decorations up!!!! Won't be going there again.

Love this relaxed and cozy restaurant. The menu is fantastic, with everything from fish, meats salads and dips to a full vegetarian menu, all cooked perfectly. Excellent Italian, Greek and French wines. The staff are also so friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back!!

Went for a meal with Friends on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was reasonably quite and there was only one waiter working. This didn't stop him from being very attentive and helpful. First course of Ktipiti was a new experience, really nice and a great flavour (it was pretty hot with quite a sour flavour). Mains were mixed kebabs with a skewer of lamb, pork and chicken, a lovely salad and rice with a tomato sauce - very enjoyable thank you. The bill was very very reasonable and I will definitely be returning to try out the Meze.

After many years back in the country and excited to try this old favourite. Greeted at the door on a rainy Tuesday night without a reservation the host seated us as he realised we had travelled a long way to dine. Great to be back in this place, we both ordered the unlimited meze and received dish after dish of delicious starters and selected cooked meats with pittas and all of the wonderful dips to accompany. A very reasonably priced bottle of Greek white wine (house) too. Service prompt and friendly throughout, good memories brought back of this lovely little Old Bexley institution.

We booked online for the 8pm sitting, when we arrived there was a long queue and we had to wait about 40 minutes for our table, some people left the queue and went elsewhere as it was taking so long and no one came out to communicate what the issue was. When we finally got seated the waitress did apologise and explained that the 6pm service over ran and they were trying to get people out still.The service was good and the waitress was very friendly.We both had the meze, We thought we may have to wait a while for food but it came out quite quick. The food was lovely, hot dishes were hot and all food was flavoursome and plentiful, we couldn’t finish the main as we had eaten so much. I took 1 star off because of the long wait and the lack of communication around it.

Also don't expect anything with them except a slice of lemon, it is main course price for literally 3 prawns and a wedge of lemon, shocking.Moussaka was nice but for £9.25 it was tiny I mean really tiny like half portion, would fit a side plate and came in a half size aluminium foil container not the full size like you would get with Asian takeaways.So annoyed as I love Greek food and was expecting better for the price as it is not cheap.

For my wife's birthday we booked the Greek meze for two for a takeaway. I didn't really know what to expect when getting a take away meze. I placed an order to be collect in the evening and went to pick this up. Only had to wait a couple of minutes before paying going back home. When i got home there was about 10 different dishes hot and cold all well presented. When looking at this it didn't look like enough but once we started eating it was more then enough for two people and had leftover too. It was nice to have a takeaway which was different from the norm. I will be definitely be getting a takeaway from here again.

Recently had a meal in this lovely Taverna and will definitely be back again. We ordered the excellently priced Meze and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and seemed never-ending. We coupled our meal with a bottle of pinot grigio which worked really well and again it wasn't over priced. The only minor thing for me, personally, I would have preferred more chicken than pork with the hot main but I am sure if I'd have asked this would have been accommodated by the friendly, welcoming staff. Hope to be back soon.

We have visited Old Bexley Greek Taverna by the end of the August. We were welcomed by the waiter and seated in the upper level swiftly. Menu needs complete revamp, it is very difficult to read, messy and ugly. We have chose some starters and mains, when we want to order it we were informed that half of the chosen option is not available today, I believe we should be informed about it when given a menu. Food was average, more like home cooking, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. The biggest issue is the cleanliness, to be precise lack of it. Plastic flowers, speakers, all the top level decorations are covered with thick layer of dust, probably worth of years! Where we were seated we found fishbones on the top of wooden decoration which looked very old. With the restaurant being closed for guests for such a long time due to COVID19 this place should shine with cleanliness. As my title says, Old Bexley Greek Taverna urgently needs some TLC and it will become very nice place to spend some time.

4 of us came here for the Meze. There was a wonderful range of food and so much of it! I think it was about £13 per person but was half price as we came in August. All really tasty and will definitely be back!

I have been to the Greek on numerous occasions, with varying party sizes of different ages and every time has been as exceptional! I visited last night for the first time since before the lockdown & was pleasantly surprised that nothing had changed for the worst. In fact, the team were exceptionally busy and maintained a calm and hospitable approach. Of course, some items are unavailable but that is to be expected at times - due to season / availability etc (especially during a world wide pandemic!) The meze to share is so reasonably priced you may be dubious when ordering (it is rather under advertised) but you will certainly not be disappointed on the portion size, taste or quality of dishes. A real treat allowing the opportunity to try various Greek plates. Actually, all portion sizes are very generous & so tasty! The decor is more traditional Greek than a number of the tavernas in the local vicinity, which adds to the atmosphere & creates a more memorable visit. The team seem to be either family (or very close) to give the feel of an authentic Greek restaurant.The upstairs is totally unexpected from what you see downstairs, but there are good seating options close to the toilets for those who need. Although the floor is tiled the access is generally very good. The waiters are personable but not overbearing or insincere and do not rush you to order more drinks / desserts etc. That said, they are very attentive and even during super busy periods you are not left thirsty nor rushed to keep to a 2 hour serving time. Not a fast casual experience but a real step in to Greece!

I had never had greek food before going to this restaurant with my family and now I love it. We had three courses all with such big portions for such a good price! Tasty food and I will definitely be visiting again soon!!

A meze priced at £14.95 pp had me feeling a little apprehensive about the choice and selection, cheaper than the cost of a meze in comparitive restaurants, I was a little worries. Boy was I wrong. The starters were incredible, the mains beautiful and a service to match. We enjoyed everything served and a meze at that cost is incredible value. I can't wait to return to try other dishes.....check the queues outside when we left (note this is during the Eat Out to Help Out scheme) very popular!

I booked a table for two a week before. Turned up at the restaurant, was ignored for 15 minutes then told it would be a further 40 minute wait. Not just us, a group of four were told the same and walked out and three more people after us were told there would be a wait and two other people were waiting at the bar. We went elsewhere. Very disappointing. Why ask people to book then get it so wrong.

We visited this restaurant for the first time on 8th August. There is parking round the back free after 6pm.We decided to opt for the meze and we wasn’t disappointed. I came here on 21st March (Just before the lockdown was issued) and returned on 18yh July. Both visits were vastly different.The visit in March was great. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional.My return visit was a bad experience from the very beginning. Upon arrival there was nowhere for us to sit even though we had booked and ha already had a phone call to ask if we could come half an hour later, which we did.Eventually by splitting up two tables, we were seated. I asked for the Souvlaki and was told no. I honestly thought the waiter was joking but he kept repeating no. I then asked for the Stifado and was again told no, with no explanation. I eventually settled for the Kleftico but asked if I could have salad and rice, rather than roast potatoes and rice.The food came and all I can say is that I had a very dry lamb shank. I have been to Greece many times and my understanding of kleftiko is lamb cooked with vegetables and feta cheese and the natural juices providing a gravy. My meal also came with roast potatoes so I asked where my salad was. I later found out when paying the bill, that I was charged for a side salad. I believe the waiter that served us was the grandfather and my feeling is that his customer service skills isn't as high as other staff members. Maybe they also had another chef in this time?Based on my visit in July I would have only given one star for the restaurant. It's only because of the good experience in March that I have given a higher score.I am reluctant to return but will give it another try and see if this was just a bad day
