Friendly service, lovely fresh fish and chips freshly prepared! Very efficient as a busy place, but all their food tastes amazing! Will be back again soon!

Had fish and chips from there just now, wow! Big portions, haddock beautifully cooked, light crispy batter, gorgeous taste, chips equally as good (too many to eat). Would recommend a visit. Fair price, generous portions, beautifully cooked

No cod, so went for haddock, skin on absolutely dry and disgusting, my dogs didn't even eat it!!! Mushy peas were even gross for a change

We have tried most of the fish and chip shops in Spalding and much prefer the Oh My Cod at the small shopping precinct in Wygate. Really good portions, good quality fish and the batter was not greasy like some others, let’s hope it stays like this. There is no queuing as after ordering they give you a little beeper which lets you know when your order is ready, I really hope they keep this method going after lockdown. The only thing to be aware of at the moment is that it is a cash purchase only. The co op there has a cash machine which might help

We have moved our fish chips purchases here from Market Deeping because HO MY COD are normally the best. We had our jab Thursday and went for fish and chips, but this time the chips were horrible, my wife and I both left half of them instead of eating to much because they normally were so good. We will still use but will avoid having them before five giving time for day before chips to be used up. Would have sent them a direct message but to do so need to use Facebook which I avoid.

Best fish chips in hasting good value good hot nice food great staff owner. Only want real nice people who no what nice food taste like all ways fresh clean take no notice bad reviews as not true.

Heard that OMC had re-opened and collections available. Not had Fish and Chips since early in 2020 so had so looked forward to this meal. Fish was ok, the batter a little soggy though and a few of chips too firm. Okay but nothing special. We'll definitely go for Turners fish and chips in future.....

I have chips from here on a regular basis, more than I should but their chips are delicious! Staff are very friendly and a fast service. This is an award winning shop and it is easy to see why.

For my dad's birthday all he wanted was a family get together with fish and chips, and as we don't live in Spalding this establishment was recommended to us, and boy are we glad that we gave them a try. The staff were friendly, the menu has an excellent selection and everything is cooked fresh. The chips are delicious and there's no grease residue in the packaging, everyone who had fish thoroughly enjoyed it, the portions are a good size, and the younger members of the group enjoyed their battered mars bars! We will certainly be back.

Discovered this local gem yesterday! Have been actively seeking a quality chippy since moving to Cowbit and at Oh My Cod, we were NOT disappointed! Husband loves chicken and chips and he was delighted by their offering..........my cod was lovely and we both agree that chips are vey traditional and 'old school' ! Staff and management sooooooo friendly and helpful. Would NOT hesitate to recommend this quality take out !!

We went for lunch but arrived as they were about to close. You would expect the staff to be a little "off colour" with us but that was definitely not the case. They were very friendly. The food was freshly cooked. The shop very clean and tidy. We will use them again.

Ordered a Haddock. Great size, very large and cooked fresh. The batter (I'm not a batter person) was so light and crispy, I loved it! I lived 4 miles away but is definately worth the trek. Deserves being one of the top 50 fish bars in the country. The staff are also very friendly, considerate and efficient! Also noticed they do gluten free nights! That's nice.

This simply is the best chip shop in the area, in a very wide area. Freshly cooked to perfection and always delicious. Love the seasonal treats too such as deep fried mince pies. Highly recommend.

Massive portions we can share a large fish and chips between 3 of us and it's HUGE! Potatoes fluffy, fish moist and better crisp. Fab little chippy.

The staff are so friendly. They cook the chips in small portions so are always fresh Great fish and battered sausage. Do a gluten free night too. Would not go anywhere else for best fish and chips

Freshly cooked and a plentiful amount of chips for every order. Whilst only my second visit, the whole experience will guarantee my return. Competitively priced and equally mouth watering. Highly Recommended.

Very disappointed,cold, tasteless chips, cold doner meat. The cue was out the door so thought the chips would of been fresh. Been here a lot and very disappointed today. Let’s hope it’s an off day!

The chicken at Oh My Cod is one to travel for! It is so succulent and always fresh, the staff are excellent at recommending a sauce to go with it. Always get a smile and a nice conversation when I pop in!

Always fresh as its cooked to order, fish just melts in the mouth and served by helpful and polite owners. Shame it is in a side street where only the locals know where it is.

I never had fish as good as the the one we ordered from here no other fish and chips come near I drive for about 10 miles to get it but it’s worth we will always be going there every week.

Your order is cooked to order and you wait but it is well worth it. Superb fish and chips- the best around this area by far. Not easy to find if you don't know the area but a great discovery when you do. You'll be back again and again.

Would definitely recommend O My Cods! fish and chips - It is Dairy and soya free and they also offer a gluten free option. There Fish and Chips isn't to Greasy and it very fresh. Very Yummy even when they were dealing with the high volume of customers at the spalding beer festival.

Due to the Pumpkin Parade in the town centre I decided to try out Oh My Cod for our usual Friday night fish and chips. Cooked to order both the fish and chips were delicious. I delivered the mini cod portions to my elderly father and mother in law who both said it was the best they have had and plenty big enough for them. So a big thumbs up from me and we will be going back!

What can i say about Oh My Cod... You just have to go there and sample the food you will not be disssapointed. We have also used Oh My Cod for an event that we held at home they delivered the food it was piping hot and everyone enjoyed it cannot recommend this chip shop enough.

I think it was Little Gem chippy that was down there originally where the old lady used to cook chips...

Posiblemente el mejor pescado y patatas fritas en Spalding. . . Un agradable y fresco. Siempre y caliente! Tienden a paquete su comida en contenedores de cartón para llevar así que el bateador no es pasada cuando llegues a casa. Bueno, si el típico "chips", además de un personal amable y servicial.

1st Tuesday of each month delicious gluten free fish and chips served with gluten free vinegar,1st visit last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, nicely packed in boxes to keep warm, takeaway only btw. Very good quality fish and chips, even had gluten free curry sauce on offer, not the nearest chip shop to where i live but worth going the extra mile.Be sure to try this place, its food is superb.Excellent.

We have tried new fish and chips shop because in Spalding is less and less good places where you can eat nice and fresh food. Unfortunately this place is just the same as the rest of fish bars. Probably is bit better then the rest of fish places because is new and still trying to get customers in. But nothing can beat Linford's Fish and Chips Shop in Market Deeping.

We sat in the car and ate cod and chips from here served in a handy box. I can only describe the fish as wonderful and such a huge portion too. It was very busy so a very good sign. Will definitely come again.

Tried the first gluten free fish and chip night from this small take away in Spalding. Really enjoyed my well cooked chips and crispy gluten free battered fish. Made even better with some gluten free vinegar to give the old fashioned sea side smell that as a coeliac I really crave. Well done. Not many options in small towns like Spalding so great to see small business diversifying to accommodate us "free fromers". I will definitely be back

Stayed in Spalding for 4 nights with work, like to try a variety of places to eat instead of sticking with the hotels food, so Oh My Cod was night 2's dinner. A short walk out of town, Oh My Cod is well worth the walk. Reasonably priced and fried fresh in front of your eyes. Great service and super tasty fish, chips & scampi. Bear in mind there is nowhere to sit inside the shop so carry out only im afraid. Great dinner!

Yummy! Really enjoyed my supper. Had a pineapple fritter, chips and mushy peas. All were delicious and piping hot. Will definitely return.

We absolute love oh my cod, whether I'm just nipping in on a Friday dinner time from work or taking the family to pick up some tea. Don't mind travelling either to get them as don't live local to them. Like the title says best around in my opinion. Definately recommended

Absolutely amazing! All the food I had ordered was well cooked and extremely enjoyable as well as being priced reasonably. The shop is still yet to disappoint me in how there customer service and the quality of there products

Been twice in November,and first time the batter on the fish was not fully cooked with a wettish batter under the crisp batter, as I am not a fish frier have no idea for the reason,the second time I asked for fish to be a deeper brown on the outside so the batter would have cooked through, that was a request done but when got home with the take away the chips where were not the normal cooked through,could be that I went at busy time and just got unlucky ? I will tell the Frier next time I go but want it to be when no other customers are there at the time, still must be doing plenty right though as queue is just as big when I Pass.

The fish shop is very clean and well laid out. Warm welcome as always. Fish is cooked to order which obviously takes a few minutes. However it is well worth the wait. The fish and chips are served in long boxes, this prevents the fish from breaking. The fish is always piping hot and just the right amount of batter.They also serve pukka pies, sausages and chicken, so caters for tastes.Look forward to our next visit.

This is the first time I've been to this fish and chip shop. Fish cooked to order with lovely crisp batter. Chips well fried in clean tasking oil. Battered sausage were ok, but I missed the Lincolnshire battered sausage I had as a kid. Maybe an opportunity here. Overall very polite, very clean looking shop and lovely fish and chips

Ye gods tis a place of magic where the high wizard of frying conjurers up magic in little more than a humble chip bag ! I travel the country on careless whims sampling chip shops the length and breadth of this mighty country of ours and this establishment without doubt comes into my top 100 nationwide.Taciturn and sullen staff aside the food is whats the important thing here.I arrived too late, arriving shortly after closing time on 14 October to make a purchase and therefore decided to sleep in my car overnight and sample lunch the next day.I awoke somewhat stiff, cold and in a rather grumpy mood. After walking the streets of Spalding for 7 hours I ensured I was first in the queue for the lunch time opening.From the morose attitude of the staff I can only assume they too slept overnight in their cars ! I ordered a small bag of chips. Heaven descended upon me. The taste was supreme. Magnificence !

If you want Fish-n-Chips that remind you of proper food then you need to try this place, (excuse the pun!). This tiny little shop is one of the top 50 in the country and you know it when you eat it. Traditional Fish-n-Chips cooked to perfection by very polite and caring staff, they are wonderful. Located in a small road in the middle of private dwellings you would pass it without noticing it was there. Value for money with a top class product!

Nothing fancy just fresh cooked top quality chippy, fish is always generous portions and batter crisp not wet underneath and the fish fills the batter not like many a few inches of crispy batter either end of the fish.Polite staff and as a once a fortnight visitor never had need to complain.

We have never had bad food from here. Lovely, freshly cooked food. Glad to see that they have got rid of the boxes! Back to paper wrapping. Didn't get to try the deep fried cream eggs but the deep fried mince pies were delicious, last Christmas. If you ever want fish and chips this is the only place to go.

Coming from Leicester I looked on Trip Advisor for the best in town and Oh My Cod came up the best. Curious to find out we dashed over to see what all the fuss was about and ordered our fish and chips. They were amazing, chips nicely square cut and perfectly cooked. Fish was flakey and cooked in the lightest batter but my partner thought the chips were dry, not my sentiments though. Finally they travelled very well in that special box it was presented in. Cod-Tatic Top tip phone your order in advance or your in for a wait.

This is THE best fish and chip shop in Spalding, at the moment, and hopefully will continue to remain so. We visit at least once a month, sometimes once a week!I think most foods are cooked to order, so don't expect it to be the quickest, but it's worth waiting for! There's usually a queue, but it really doesn't take very long to place your order, and get served once it is cooked, usually between 5-10 minutes total!Staff are always very friendly and very efficient.They cook the usual fishes you'd expect, as well as the other normal fish shop fare, sausages, pies, chicken, fishcakes, pineapple fritters etc; they also do children's boxes and have different deals on too, and not sure if it's going to be an on-going thing but they have recently done battered mars bars and then crème eggs, as monthly specials. Although everything we've tried is really good and nicely cooked, my favourite thing on the menu is Potato Scallops, lovely soft potato in wonderful crispy batter. Delicious! Well worth a visit.

I very rarely eat fish and chips - even the smell passing them usually puts me off. Today having been poorly and recovering I just fancied some. Been reading the comments folks have put on facebook about this place so decided to send hubby to get some for us. They were absolutely delicious, full of the flavour of fish and chips and not just the batter and oil. Would highly recommend. :)

Heard a lot of good reviews about this shop so we thought it was about time we paid a visit, have to say it was the best fish & chips we've had in a while. Love the boxes our fish & chips were put in, didn't have to peel the batter off the paper. The fish was so fresh and white with proper flakes. Can say we will definitely won't be using anywhere else!

I love sausage and chips and boy that was a brilliant meal well priced and the curry sauce is lush. My great Nan always used this chippy even when it was little gem, and she raved about the quality of the fish and chips so we thought we'd try it when we was round hers which was only 2 min walk, brill food and service too noch

There have been several tries at continuing successfully what used to be called the Little Gem. The (relatively) new owners are great and have invested to refurbish it beautifully. One of the cleanest sharpest F&C shops I have been in. They always apologise for the wait (of 5 mins) because they cook fresh for you. I always say don't apologise that's why I come her Lol. So for me the best F & C in town by a mile.

Undoubtedly the best Fish & Chip shop in Spalding, and probably much further afield too!I chanced upon it while returning from a late visit, and being hungry thought I'd give it a try. I am so glad that I did!The service was excellent, friendly and very efficient. A little wait while the fish was fresh cooked was well worth it, and on returning home I enjoyed one of the best 'take-out' meals I've had in ages!Well recommended!

Only been open for a few years but I can assure you that this is the best fish and chips you will find in Spalding. The fish is freshly cooked which may at times mean a wait of 5 minutes or so but well worth it. It is crispy and succulent and placed in a polystyrene sealed box so it keeps its crispness, beautiful chips made from the best spuds. The best thing about oh my cod for lucky old me is that it is only 100 yards from my home. Enjoy !

Lovely little chippie very nice staff the cowner and his family are really friendly too. Food cooked to order and lovely. Fish lovely and moist. They are also allergy aware and did ask the question after hearing us talk about food allergies.not open often enough or long enough hours. However if your in spalding look it out on Alexander rd. You wont regret it

Visited Oh My Cod to grab some fish and chips for my daughters and was so pleased to see that they offer such a varied true vegetarian menu! Food is cooked in palm oil, no animal fats, so I could also order food too ( something that I can very rarely do, can't remember the last time I had chip shop chips!). Highly recommended for vegetarians and also meat/fish eaters!

They have special deals for OAPs and children which makes an affordable hot meal throughout the week.Very friendly staff and always very clean and tidy.Well recommended.

Its not a restaurant and quiet small but the food is fresh and well cooked while you wait.Never had a problem or a bad meal.

I've bought fish and chips here now several times and the quality is very consistent, fish with light batter and really tasty chips. Unlike some of the bigger fish and chip shops in Spalding , you won't get that horrible aftertaste having eaten this fare.

I was driving past after visiting my daughter and thought I wonder if this little place is any good? I'm pleased to report it was excellent. The gentleman behind the counter was helpful and very curtious. Most items are cooked to order and I was lucky because they were frying new potatoes too. Great little chippie highly recommend a visit. Only drawback is that its takeaway only no restaurant
