Came all the way out here as we were excited to try some authentic Portuguese food. Arrived at 8:15 PM on a Friday evening and the place was completely closed with the shutter down, even though it says it's currently open until 11 PM. Very disappointed we wasted our time

I can't remember the name of the dish but i was with my Portuguese friend and he recommended it. Meat was Halal! The service was great!

Excellent food and service. We were welcomed like kings, the food was perfect. Only thing missing was the Venezuelan flag 😆(inside joke) for the owner.

If the chef is Portuguese, fire them. If not, send them to Portugal to learn what Portuguese food looks and tastes like. Worst attempt at cooking food from my country I ever tasted.

Très bonne adresse. Nous y sommes allé deux fois en trois jours tellement nous avons adoré cette adresse. Les quantités sont très généreuse et la qualité y est aussi. La daurade grillée est un régale ! Si nous revenons dans le coin, nous y retournerons forcément.

Absolutely fantastic food and friendly staff. The prices are great too, especially considering the quality of the dishes. We had the picado de vaca a Madeirense and the cataplana de bacalhau, both of which were incredible. The house vinho verde was absolutely great too. No desserts this time, but we will definitely be back!

It was my first time coming to this restaurant and I was absolutely surprised by the level of friendliness that the staff offered me since I walked in . They were constantly smiling and so patience when I was choosing my menu. The food came extremely quick and it was so delicious. They also had live music. Singers which cheered everyone up and people even started dancing. I feel like I was on one of their islands. If you are looking for a night out with your partner or a family reunion this is a perfect place to have unforgettable experience . Thank you to all management, cook and all the staff that making us feel special. 🥰

I had a fantastic time at Oceano London with my friends on their Fridays Live Music night! The atmosphere was incredible, and the live music really added to the experience. But what really made the evening unforgettable was the amazing food and the friendly service we received from the staff. The menu was full of delicious options, and everything we tried was cooked to perfection. The seafood was especially fresh and flavorful. Our server was attentive and helpful throughout the evening, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our night out. Oceano is one of my favourite restaurants in London! The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is great (There’s live music on Fridays!), and the staff are welcoming, friendly, and the best! Highly suggest you try some of the Bacalhau dishes or the beefs, and don’t forget dessert too!

Excellent food and service. It’s run by really lovely people, it’s good for groups and if you fancy a cosy meal. Food is top notch - the garlic prawns are out of this world and you want bread for the sauce!! Try the bacalhau too, best anywhere in London. They know what they’re doing with seafood. I’ve got to try the meat the next time I’m here :) give it a go, it’s a hidden gem.

Great food (the same or better flavours we have in Portugal) and great staff, very nice to us and to all the clients. We were there all the nights we were in London.

We've been there for dinner, to celebrate the International Women's Day. The restaurant was full, mostly women 😊, they had a live singer for the night and the girls were dancing like nobody's watching 💃!! Absolutely great atmosphere, delicious food and the owners are amazing people, made you feel like they invited you to dinner in their own house. Everything was very authentic, everything was in Portuguese. It was a great experience and I cannot wait to return! 😊

We were violently ill with diarrhoea and vomiting during the night and the next day after our meal there. We had not eaten anywhere else.

I went there last Sunday for lunch with a friend. The food was amazing, we ordered 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert and a bottle of wine . The lady who served us was very friendly and smiling a lot - great customer service ☺️ Thank you! The wine recommendation from the manager was spot on too. They have a huge menu. I highly recommend this restaurant ✨

We have recently had a dinner at the restaurant and got very disappointed by the level of trust we could place on the restaurant as a customer. I ordered a fish stew for main dish (£23.95). The waiter later told me the dish was not available and suggested ‘other one’ without telling us the alternative dish was for 2 person serve and the price was £37.95 (£14 more). I knew there was a similar dish on the menu and thought that’s what they suggested. However, it was only when the dish arrived that we were told it is for 2 person serve. No mention of the higher price either. We felt extremely zipped and treated poorly as a customer. In addition they billed a few more items that we did not order, totalling more than £20, and the size of the house wine we ordered was incorrectly charged for 750ml rather than 500ml (£7.50 more). Although they cancelled the items incorrectly put on the bill, we only discovered the larger size of wine being charged once back home. In total they billed us £42.95 more on the initial bill. There was no apologies by the manager when we pointed out their error, only excuses for their negligence was given. It is a repeat attempt of ripping customers off and we feel very disappointed about the level of service. We have eaten at the restaurant several times over the last few years and it has been one of our favourite local restaurants but sadly we’ll not return after this experience. Please check your bills properly and be careful of what they counter suggest when you order fish stew!

Fazem o melhor bacalhau que eu comi na vida....Um restaurante excelente. Fui jantar com minha mulher e amigos, pedimos bacalhau, frutos do mar, carne vermelha e outros. Todos os pedidos chegaram rapidamente e todos estavam incrivelmente saborosos. Tomamos vinho e água mineral das pedras (deliciosa). O atendimento é excelente também, funcionários muito simpáticos e atenciosos. É um lugar que eu recomendo conhecer sem dúvidas nenhuma.

They make the best cod I've ever eaten....An excellent restaurant, An amazing experience.. I went to dinner with my wife and friends, we ordered codfish, seafood, red meat and others. All orders arrived quickly and all were incredibly tasty. We had wine and mineral water from the stones (delicious). The service is excellent too, very friendly and attentive staff. It is a place that I recommend visiting without a doubt.

The food was so tasty and good quality. I had the mixed grilled fish platter. You'd notice immediatly if the fish is not good but that was amazing (the octopus salad we had for lunch was also gorgeous). Big portions, friendly and nice environment. It isn't the cheapest but it's still affordable and it worth the little extra! Highly reccomended :)

Very good staff, good food but very expensive. Especially because it is not that much food to charge what they charge. I had octopus and came just two tentacles, some roast potatoes and a lot of veggies. The taste was amazing but... In my opinion,. very expensive. In summary: Very good staff and food, poor in quantity and expensive dishes.

The outside of this lovely little place, does not do it any justice, and hides a little gem. We had a friends meet up, ten of us, prior to an Orient game, and from the friendly welcome, unfussy but attentive service, and excellent food and drink, I would strongly recommend . The prawn starters were to die for . It is great value and you could go regular and not dent the bank. Sort of place where you can have couple bottle's beer and share some starters...Nice Porto vibe. We will defo be back

This lovely, friendly, intimate Portuguese restaurant amidst the bustle of cosmopolitan Leyton has undergone a simple and elegant revamp. New dishes unsure customers experience updated flavours and range while, crisp clean, white table cloths lighten and refresh the interior space to offer a more relaxed dining experience. At last a humble, graceful space in the locality without the pretentiousness of hipster bars and cafés.

We chose Oceano Restaurant (already popular in the past) to celebrate our anniversary. The staff were very helpful and explained various aspects of the menu we asked for. The fish dishes we ordered were very good, the same was the sangria (although the next time I would like the half-liter option not just a liter to be indicated on the menu, for people like my girlfriend who is diabetic and therefore cannot drink a lot of alcohol. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant, great dishes, great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Saturday evening and there was a big party there who turned up in dribs and drabs, which no doubt was tricky for the staff. Menu is quite confusing as to which are full starters and stuff to go along with bread. Was really quite difficult...

Just wow, I personally have been looking for authentic Portuguese food for the past 3 years in East London and have found this gem of a place by recommendation. Amazing service from the start, great food and drinks and just overall experience fantastic. A big thank you to Paulo and the whole staff for a great night.
