Best oysters, langoustines and scallops ever eaten ! Worth it even on a pooring rain !

We always go to the Seafood Hut every time we go to Oban. We love the oysters and usually get the smoked salmon, the crab and the prawn sandwiches which are jam packed with filling. Lovely staff and great atmosphere

What a great find! Food straight from the sea that morning, and wow it was beautiful! 🤤 Despite the wind and the rain, everyone under the shelter was very happy - a great sign!

The taste is ordinary, not particularly delicious.

The seafood is fresh tasty and the oysters are really a big one. Although there is not many seat, we really enjoy our meal in sea breeze under sunshine.

Small bare bones seafood shack next to ferry terminal. Reasonably priced for the quality and portion size you get. They understandably get very busy! Small table canteen style and seating area which is fine except when the weather is miserable as it's partially open to the elements. Friendly (understanding and forgiving of inept mumbling from hungover person) staff. Only downside is they only take cash. There's a RBS ATM round the corner opposite the train station less than 3 mins walk away though so no excuse really.

Delicious lobster for a fair price. People are friendly, food is fresh. Good variety to choose from.

You can eat seafood while looking at the sea view and smelling the sea. This is definitely an unforgettable experience. The seafood tastes fresh. The staff are very friendly. When you queue up, you can see the continuous influx of customers. I came twice, the first time ordered oysters, scallops and razor clams and a crab sandwich to take out, the scallops and razor clams were hot, the scallops were great but the razor clams had sand in them, almost every one had sand, I didn't like the lack of them Clean seafood. I ordered a breaded crab for the second time. There is a price for each crab, so you can choose how much you want to eat. The crab cannot be heated and can only be given a small jar of melted butter. The crab meat is delicious and the crab roe seems There are too many, which makes people feel very greasy. Generally speaking, oysters and scallops are worth eating, but the rest depends on personal preference.

You can get very fresh fish here. If you're surprised, it's right at the harbor.

So often we buy food from this shop. So lovely stuff’s and tasty food. But I’m so disappointed. Few months ago we with my man ordered oysters, don’t remember how much, but after them I got food poison. My man also didn’t feel himself well. We forgot about that bad situation. And the same happened 2 days ago, we bought mussels, and again got food poison. Honestly I thought that I will die this time. Never before didn’t feel myself so bad

Really looking forward to having their seafood platter but they had a limited menu in November. Ordered everything on their hot menu because it was so cold. Loved the chowder and the mussels are the best I have ever had! They told me they are closing for the winter this Sunday and will only reopen in March.

Stopped in Oban late in the afternoon on our first leg of our honeymoon doing the NC500, back in September. We took a walk round the pier and noticed this place, it was really busy so we thought we’d keep walking for a bit and come back and get something light to eat. Unfortunately they had just closed by the time we got back and pulled the shutters down, however, the owner spotted us and our dog and shouted for us to come back. She was so lovely and gave us two sandwiches on the house (all because she loved our dog) 🥰 one was a smoked salmon and the other was prawn. Both were absolutely delicious and our husky loved the salmon and prawns too, he wouldn’t stop licking his lips after and wanting some more! Thought I’d repay the kindness and generosity of the owner with a good review and to thank them again! Thank you so much and we will definitely be back on our next trip to Oban to try more of the menu allowing plenty time next time! 😊

Seafood secondary to none across the globe. Simple, but extraordinary. Not the cheapest, but unquestionably worth every penny.

I loved it there. Oban is a lovely town to visit. I would highly recommend seafood hut. I loved langoustines there and mussles too! We had oysters and calamari too, which was fresh and good. Reasonably priced and quite a few options.. They have a small seating area with a couple of big benches and tables, you might not find a space when its busy..

We were originally planning to leave Oban immediately after breakfast for the Highlands but fortunately decided against doing so. Sticking around allowed us to wander close to the famed green shack and give its offerings a go. We were richly rewarded for having cash on us (do note it is cash only) with a sumptuous spread of seafood. Of special note were the enormous and fresh oysters and scallops. We will certainly be back the next time we are in Scotland.

Cash only!! Great quality and value. We got the seafood platter for 2 and asked for it to be wrapped up as we were heading for the ferry. We saved it for dinner than night with a bottle of white and we’re not disappointed. Lots of variety and delicious.

Loved the location near the water. First time trying oysters, guided by our server who advised me what to do. Really generous portion of King scallops. Free crab sandwich due to time of our visit near closing time.

Tried a prawn sandwich as heading for a ferry, without doubt the best prawn sandwich ever, super fresh and tasty and a v generous filling. Will definitely try something else next time I am passing, all looked so fresh!

Cash only, runs out of many things later in the day. Come early! Don’t believe hours online, they change. Small seating area available but often full as this is a popular spot - on a sunny day you’ll have plenty of options but at least there is some covered seating on-site for rainy days, squish up and watch for seagull thieves. Fresh as can be seafood and great value for the price!

We came for lunch one wet, Sunday afternoon in October. We had two oysters, scallops in hot garlic butter and hot langoustines. All came to £30. The oysters were the biggest I've ever seen! All the food was fresh and tasty. Great little casual lunch spot.

I znowu byliśmy tu na Seafood. Jest to jeden z niewielu polskich akcentów tutaj na północy: nad kioskiem z prawdziwymi smakołykami powiewa Polska flaga. Tutaj spotkaliśmy bardzo miłą Panią z Polski, której jeszcze raz dziękuję za uśmiech ,fachową obsługę i pomoc. Ostrygi były pyszne i....po1,40 £ za szt. Naprawdę polecam wszystkim wielki półmisek różnych owoców morza: homar, langustynki, kraby, krewetki, ośmiorniczka, mule- wystarczyło na obiad dla 3 dorosłych osób. Muszle św. JAKUBA są chyba najsmaczniejsze . To tylko namiot z jedzonkiem, ale przyjeżdżają tu Goście z całego świata. POLECAM.

Scallops in hot butter was absolutely fantastic!

If you love seafood - this is the place to come. It’s a no-frills eatery which offers the freshest seafood ever! You choose what you want from the menu to the side of the counter, queue to place your orders and make payment, and collect your food when your number is called. If you are dining in, you eat your food at a standing communal table by the counter. We ordered the grand seafood platter for 2 (£42.50) and the mussels steamed in garlic butter (£4.95). For the quality and amount of seafood you get, these prices are a steal. The grand seafood platter comprised a whole lobster, crab claws, two scallops in garlic butter, squid, langoustine, prawns, shrimp, a whole smoked salmon filet and butter toast as accompaniment… on a bed of blue-lipped mussels. For the first time, we felt like we might have ordered too much mussels. But no worry - because everything was so fresh, it was mind-blowing. The seafood was sweet and succulent. I don’t think I’ve eaten seafood this fresh in quite a while, and certainly not at this price. This is definitely worth the travel to Oban. Please note that the seafood in the grand seafood platter (other than the scallops) is served cold. Everything is cooked but served cold, so if you prefer your food hot, you need to check which items are hot (e.g., the steamed mussels).

After all the recommendations we decided to visit for a quick lunch. Sadly it did not perform as expected, I even threw away the last piece of hot salmon and the crab meat sandwich did not extend to a full brown sandwich sadly. The ex owner might also be disappointed, as were we, not even a smile. I know the weather was dreich but also know that you can do better

Every time I go to Oban, this place is my first stop. You could not get better FRESH seafood if you tried, and the prices are insanely good. If you like seafood, I highly recommend you go! Go.. go now!!

Ich hatte mich so gefreut hier zu Mittag zu essen und dann gab es nur kalte Dinge wie Sandwiches... Schade aber so geht es nicht. Nicht mal einen Backfisch oder Muscheln gab es... Und bei Nachfrage nur "nur kalt, nix warm".. Gern dann woanders gegessen...

Very good seafood at a good price. You have to be patient to queue up for ordering the food, but it should not take too long. They are serving both cold or hot food. There are only limited seats or standing place with shelter, that can be difficult if it is raining. But definitely worth to go if you want to have some fresh and good seafood that is not easily found in UK. Cash only, remember to get enough cash from the cash machine before you go.

It’s my must go every time visiting Oban. Fresh local seafood and great service. Must try scallops and oysters.

So I'll start by saying, absolutely no issue with the food (delicious and fresh), or the pricing - which I thought was reasonable. Long story short, we were berated by one particular member of staff who was bringing food out. Unfortunately, reading a few other reviews, I don't think we were the first.

Really good seafood! We ordered 6 oysters, 1 lobster and 2 nests of crayfish for £50. No alcohol is served. Really recommended!

I’d rate this zero stars if I could so you guys won’t come visit this place and keep the lines shorter! But really it’s awesome. Best and freshest seafood in town! Portions huge for the price and very very simply seasoned to highlight the seafood! Come early to avoid lines and lack of eating spaces :)

You stand and eat and you clean up the table. Sea shore is next to you. Fresh and hot food.

My wife had the oysters and scallops. The oysters were gritty and were not what was expected by comparison to New England oysters. We actually threw them out. The scallops were better and they included the foot which tasted a bit weird. The scallops were tasty but not as sweet as their New England cousins.

Fabulous takeaway seafood fresh from the sea, cooked and served at the port. You can't beat this place for simple fresh seafood at reasonable prices. It can be quite busy so queueing may be required and there may not be space at the covered outside dining area.

You won't get sea food as fresh as this place, the muscles and lobster are cooked in front of you, there is always a queue but goes down quickly, you eat outside but there are chairs and tables available.

Cash only, no service, dirty tables, no toilet. This place could be better with normal area for eating and washing hands. Oysters are great, but the rest is much worse. I am not satisfied with the experience at all. The prices are like in a good restaurant 😩 Almost no hot dishes.

Their seafood is so fresh. I feel the lobster alive on my tongue 👅. I’m so picky about seafood quality but I enjoyed everything I had in here. However cash only is a bit inconvenient. 🥹 And the tidiness of the dining area can be improved. 🦞

O tym miejscu krążą legendy. Mała i bardzo niepozorna budka serwująca świeże owoce morza. W korzystnych cenach można skosztować takich rarytasów jak ostrygi, eskalopki, kraby, chomary i całą menażerię morskich smakołyków. Przepyszna była kanapka z łososiem .Miłośnikiem owoców morza nie jestem ale chętnie skosztowałem ostryg.

Food decent, but if you're going to be rude to customers for not hearing you call out food, then you maybe need to think about a more efficient system. I don't expect a five star waiter experience in a small place with a quick turnover, but I think a bit of politeness isn't too much to ask for when people haven't heard you call out food. Particularly if you're trying to be helpful by not getting in the way of the counter. Anyway, you're clearly doing well enough that it doesn't matter if you upset a few customers, but if nothing else, i think it's considered ableist to expect everyone to hear you right away. How do you expect elderly or autistic or hard of hearing people to cope? Incidentally, the guy cooking mussels was polite and friendly, despite his job being just as intense, so it's not all of you. You're clearly modern enough to read and reply to Google reviews, so maybe have an electronic board with the numbers come up or something? Would save you all a lot of shouting and be a cheap enough solution. I don't know, I wasn't the only customer who got berated while I was there, so am pretty sure it's not just me. Can't believe I've just wasted over an hour of my holiday dwelling on this.

Plutôt sympa dans l’ensemble. Seul bémol, les huîtres à éviter absolument si vous avez l’habitude d’en déguster en France! Celles ci sont énormes, ont un aspect très particulier et sont servies détachées de leur coquille… Le goût n’est pas non plus au rendez-vous.

Decided to visit Oban seafood hut based on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. Shared a Grand platter and some oysters with my wife. Very fresh! Should also add the value is good when you are talking seafood prices. I will definitely be coming back to visit again. Thankyou.

Here a while ago and was great value for money. Sadly, the sandwich I bought was stolen out my hand by a rouge seagull (beware of them). I sadly also got food poisoning from the platter, but that is to no fault of the staff. As an avid seafood lover, there is a risk that dodgy seafood can make you ill, especially shellfish. Take this into mind when reviewing this place, as I have seen reviews slating them to no fault of their own :)

The biggest oysters when I ever seen!!! Fresh and delicious! Fresh seafood, perfectly prepared. It's just shack, but food experience from the best restaurants. I highly recommend it.

A must try while in Oban. Rather than a restaurant, you have to try this hut for more original and local experience. The seafood is fresh, therefore it tasty. The location and ambience is nice. You should try platter, all things are there you can enjoy with family or friends.

Food quality is fine. When busy need to stand and hold your plate and mussels to eat. Only cash accepted. When get change back, make sure you count. We had a shortage of around £8.5 on the change. As it was raining we didn’t count. Only found out when we sat on the other restaurant. Response to owner comment: we found out the cash shortage only when we sat in other restaurant. That’s why couldn’t raise the issue on site.

Less is more ! Een visserseethuis aan de kade met no nonsens. Vers, verser, en nog eens verser ! Een "grand platter" voor £42.50 (2personen), dan moet ja al van een goede thuis komen om deze op te krijgen. Presentatie, zitgelegenheid of alcohol moet je niet op rekenen en is volgens mij ook bewust gedaan of ze hebben 50 tafels en 200 stoelen nodig ! :-) een "must do" in Oban.

Had a seafood platter to takeaway - amazing value with lots of different seafood and fish! Also got six oysters which were huge! The mussels looked amazing.

Lovely fresh seafood by the ferry port. Had some oysters and they were delicious. Last visited 9 years ago and it’s great to see they are still going strong!

Impressive selection of seafood to buy & eat. Ordered mussels and prawns in sandwich and prawn cocktail. All very tasty, especially impressed with amount of mussels in 1 portion. Staff very helpful & friendly. Only downside is limited space to eat on outside tables provided due to popularity!
