Oban Chocolate Company in Argyll & Bute

This was probably my favourite place in Oban if not Scotland. Got the chai latte and it was otherworldly. Their coconut chai cake was my favourite and I got it twice in the two days I was there. The brownie was decadent! The servers are lovely and the service is very efficient. Having a coffee and a heavenly cake with that view is happiness unmatched. This place is a must visit if you’re in Oban.

Try their hot Cross bun chocolate and you will love it, ❤️ chai latte passable!

So glad we were reccommended a visit to the Chocolate Company whilst staying in Oban. I wanted to try everything but opted for the Mocha which was delicious! My kids had the milkshakes which they also loved, and we bought lots of chocolate to take away and enjoy!

The hot chocolate is very good and I recommend the marmite truffles too. The service is very slow though, and I wasn't impressed by most of the bombones. Overall an ok experience, but pricey and not really the best chocolate.

Popped in on the 27th March for chocolates for gifts and for myself. Chocolates are delicious and looked beautiful. However the woman serving I thought was very abrupt and stand offish i returned the next morning to buy some more and disappointingly it was the same woman with the same attitude Again very abrupt. I tried to make light freindly conversation but was ignored I thought she couldn't get us served fast enough and out of her way. It's worth popping in for the chocolates. You hopefully might get a more freindly assistant.

Always stop here for an americano and some cake. Great coffee and the chocolate is nice too!!

Been to Oban Chocolate shop many times, but this Easter had to use delivery service. All items arrived intact - beautifully and safely packaged. Delivered well within our required time slot. Highly recommend.

The staff here are lovely, and the food and drink in the cafe is fabulous. The carrot cake is particularly good, and the caramel mocha is the most delicious mocha I've ever had. Thank you very much!!

A chocolate lovers dream! The hot chocolate was amazing, and the muffin and peanut/chocolate slab were delicious. My only petty gripe was the fact that the waffles - with which we'd been teased by lots of photos on Google - and which also looked amazing, are only served on certain occasions such as Christmas 😭 Please serve them regularly, or at least at the weekends. We were gutted that, at the end of a long walk, during which time we'd been salivating over the prospect of having a plateful of them each, we found we couldn't have any😱 I'm sure I'll eventually get over my disappointment... but I'll definitely be back!

Just sat down in the sun, back from a trip to the UK, in Germany with a cup of coffee (Espresso Blend) and 2 of your chocolates. Fantastic & Delicious!

I highly recommend going here if you are visiting or passing through Oban! They’ve got a variety delicious drinks, hot chocolates, matcha etc. and a lot of their options can be made vegan as well! There are nice window seats with a lovely view but great to takeaway as well. It also has lots of cute gifts and souvenirs. I kept coming back here during my visit. The perfect place for any chocolate lover.

This is a super nice a cosy chcoolatiers, serving delicious hot chocolates and scones. Highly recommend the Ghana hot chocolate which was nice and flavourful. The fruit scone was also delicious. However, the chai latte was a little too sweet Overall, we had a lovely experience here! Staff and service are excellent too.

Please note there are no Toilet facilities. (18/10/23). Concerning, if you have young children. Disappointed considering food is served. Lack of tables and chairs inside...Food,and Coffee , pretty average,expensive ,in relation to what is "served" !!...Coupled by rude staff,and slow service...best to try elsewhere.!!!

Great chocolate shop right on the sea front of Oban. Festive hot chocolate was yum as was the scone. Not a lot of seating inside, but did manage a bar stool with harbour view.

Lady that we checked out with in the shop area was very abrupt and borderline rude when serving. We had cake when eating in, the famous cherry Bakewell cake was very bland, no marzipan taste whatsoever

Superb it's so big inside,l didn't expect to see chocolates being made by hand by the amazing chocolatiers,what a selection of tasty treats and delicious cakes and scones,we bought some to take home and it was all packaged it boxes.

We popped in for coffee and cake, which turned out to be a great decision. There were plenty of gluten free cakes, which was a pleasant surprise.

You are hit with the beautiful aromas of coffee and chocolate upon entering the premises, a beautiful presentation of chocolate assortments, and an inviting café bar. I pondered over a small selection of ice cream flavours, finally deciding on elderflower and gooseberry - which was a surprise to me as I don't usually like elderflower, but after sampling it I had to have it. I ordered a Caramel Mocha Coffee which was prepared beautifully, and tasted just as good. The rest of my party had icecream, and a Dark Mocha, a Tea, and a Rich Milk Hot Chocolate, which was very strong chocolate - to the point that my young guest found it overwhelming, and a staff member kindly weakened it by heating up some plain milk. Overall hands down the best experience if icecream and coffee I've had - thank you and I will return!

My wife and I have shared 3 different types of scone from here during our 2 day trip to Oban. All fresh and tasty and can highly recommend them. Enjoy.

Four days visiting Oban. Didn't miss a day to go in. Only word of warning is that when they ask you if you want cream on your hot chocolate with a shot of espresso and you say "just a little" I can't imagine what a normal serving is. No, I'm not complaining.

Forget all the usual high street shops and cheap chocolate from the Grocery stores... This is the real deal. Oban Chocolate shop is an independent cafe & chocolatier and makes gorgeous sweets as well as offering other delights including hot drinks (the hot chocolate is to die for). They sometimes make amazing waffles too as well as selling boxed chocolate gifts and single chocolates by weight. The staff are super friendly and the cafe is now run as a takeaway although you can still sit inside if it's not very nice weather. The shop is located directly opposite the bay , close to the North Pier which possibly means it gets missed by some of the tourists wandering down George Street but it's definitely worth popping down the road to get a great view while enjoying hand-crafted drinks and delightful chocolates.

Lovely shop with a range of hot chocolate drinks, gifts (fresh chocolates and pre packed); some sit in cafe space also, staff very friendly; really nice place; to be aware for the pre wrapped chocolates, the colouring on the blue ribbon used comes off on the hands very easily

I am not a fan of drinking chocolate but the other half is. It's an indulgence and a treat. NOT HERE IT ISN'T. It is mediocre at best and then to make it worse it's served in paper cups...........very mcdonalds, only theirs is better apparently.

The Oban Chocolate Company is a lovely chocolate shop with great coffees and drinks to compliment them! Baristas we’re all friendly and make great beverages, my personal favourite was the chilli hot chocolate. We also had some of the large homemade scones which were great! The chocolate itself is reasonably priced and very tasty, you can even see the chocolatiers making it through a small window inside the shop. There is also a nice selection of gifts such as mugs and souvenirs. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Oban.

Whenever I come to Scotland I'd usually come here because it was rlly good. Last time i visited though they had got rid of the hot chocolate im pretty sure. Shame.

Nice chocolate cafe and ship l shop. Definitely on the expensive side and slow to process orders but nice to get something a bit different. They seem to be constantly busy and do not have a toilet on site so go expecting to wait.

An absolute must if you’re in Oban for any stretch of time. The chocolates themselves? Brilliant, exciting flavours, and loads of vegan options. And then the cafe is just lovely, with something for everyone. My sister got a vegan hot chocolate and insisted we return multiple times throughout the week, and I really appreciated that they had such a range of options when it came to fancier hot chocolates. They, of course, had the bog standard milk hot chocolate, but they also had some more refined options available for if someone was particularly passionate about trying different cocoas from different parts of the world. A can’t miss stop for any chocolate lover, or anyone who KNOWS a chocolate lover.

So good to chill here, have loved sipping hot chocolate and gazing at marina on comfy settee. Had mad it a habit whilst here. Daily range of cakes too, enjoyed a pear and cream sponge ( was large slice and Sponge was really light).

Always visit when on holiday as it use to be excellent,unfortunately it's all changed now. Use to be lots of tables and chairs but hardly any now so had to have takeaway not ideal when it's raining Only one person serving who was obviously very fed up, ten minutes in the queue for a coffee then another twenty to actually get it. Not a word of apology from staff for long delay Coffee and cakes not worth the wait. Very disappointed poor service and poor quality Might return for chocolates but will go elsewhere for coffee and cake next time .

The chocolate at this place is phenomenal! There were so many flavours of truffles, we had a difficult time narrowing it down to 9. We also purchased whiskey tablet and a print of a hairy coo. We would highly recommend this place!

Excellent chocolate, coffee or ice cream shop. Tables inside and out for dog owners. Excellent choice of cakes, Galloway Icecreams or home made chocolates. Coffees and drinking chocolates too. Staff were really helpful and if you sit outside there is an excellent view of Oban Bay. Recommend as a stop on a walk around town.

Lovely coffee and hot chocolate

Visited after hearing about it having a good local reputation. Was looking for brunch as so many people on TripAdvisor said it was good for waffles & pancakes for brunch. Was disappointed to be told they only do waffles and pancakes on a Thursday and Friday. Make no apology for having cherry & chocolate cream sponge cake for breakfast instead! Hope to return when there is waffles & pancakes. Coffee was excellent 👍

It was cold and windy day in Oban, perfect place for relax. We ordered the small fondue plate and coffee and it was yummy ! Tons of chocolate and desserts.

This is a delightful spot with whimsical, humorous interior. The staff are absolutely lovely and knowledgeable about their products. I got a hot chocolate with dairy free milk and a gluten free dessert. The dessert wasn’t amazing but the chocolate was lovely. Huge selection of freshly made locally produced chocolate. They also sell waffles. Would definitely return.

They are the only matcha game in town and they even had oat milk! I was so happy to discover them as I’d been craving some matcha since landing in Scotland. It was a darn good matcha too. I just wish they opened earlier than 10 so I could have had one again!

Heaven on earth lol. Huge selection of hand made chocolates. Sea shells, golf balls owls the list goes on lots of fillings. You have a choice of prefilled bags of chocolate shapes plus other confectionary plus you can select your own chocolates in a box, all looked and sounded nice. It also has a cafe for food and drink. Staff friendlyhelpful and did not rush customers

Fabulous home baking and an excellent cuppa

We came here in 2021, and it was sit-in service; it was really good and something we've been wanting to come back to since. However, it has changed. It is now takeaway only, the waffles come in a cardboard tray, there are no customer toilets, there is only one menu taped to till (which for a person with anxiety is a terrible situation when there is a queue), and they only serve the waffles at set times. We won't be rushing back unfortunately. Waffles and coffee were still good.

I bought a simple milk chocolate from them. I did not expect it to be this good. After I left, I ordered the same chocolate from website.

Talk about a chocolate lover’s paradise, this is it! Wonderful variety of white, milk, and dark chocolate treats. Reasonably priced and super friendly staff. We enjoyed a delicious afternoon ice cream cone, too.

Cute cafe and store! The rich milk hot chocolate is delicious and there are lots of different chocolate you can buy (they even had chocolate shaped like fish and chips!).

Delicious hot chocolate, very welcome retreat from the rain. We were also entertained by the delivery of a new display cabinet and the eventual success in wedging it through the door. Well done. Only issue is there are no customer toilets.

This is quite a large shop with a lot of different products and also includes a small café. There are bars of chocolate, chocolate bark, hand made chocolates, chocolate buttons, hot chocolate and more. There are different sized packs and different types of packages and boxes for the handmade chocolates if you are gifting them. I tried a small tub of mixed chocolate buttons (milk, white, strawberry & orange) and some handmade chocolates. I prefer fruit based dark chocolates and bought about ten different ones. Each and every one was delicious and I would definitely visit here again when in town. I also thought the staff were really helpful and prices good. Highly recommended.

The cafe has great views so it is fine to sit inalthough I think they should take a look at putting more tables and chairs in and removing/re-positiining the stand alone retail displays. The hot chocolate I had rich dark was 3.80...served in a takeaway cup and tasted like a cheap powdered hot chocolate, very poor. I would say get a coffee an enjoy the view.

Handmade chocolates containing no additives or preservatives. Open kitchen onsite. Today I went for the first time and had chai latte and a dark chocolate fondue with shortbread, marshmallows and strawberries. It was delicious. Great place for buying gifts or treating yourself.

Had a lovely ice cream sitting outside in the sun. But there is so much more on offer bought chocolate bars too.
