Excellent food was absolutely beautiful Staff was friendly Deffo would return. Wasn’t a long wait very clean.

This was the first time i went here and sorry to say it will be the last i ordered a turkey dinner and was appalled at the portion size i am gluten and dairy free and explained this and told them id have roast potatoes instead of mash and no Yorkshire puds my meal came with just turkey a sprig of broccoli a few carrots peas and beans. I asked about my potatoes but the lady said they are not gluten free if i was told this at the bar i would have ordered something else so I'd have a decent portion sized meal for the price

Proper pub with a great selection of cask ales and a great price during the cask festival. Kitchen had closed because I finished work late but nothing a pack of pork scratchings didn't sort out lol The ginger lady was very friendly and told me all about the 2 quiz nights and upcoming band night

Very clean , polite staff , food came hot and fast it was a beautiful meal so I even stayed for dessert and that was beautiful, staff made sure food and drinks was okay and made sure we had everything we needed , couldn’t of asked for anything else will be coming again ! Thank you oak tree 💕

I booked the downstairs function room for a 60th birthday party with around 55 guests, ages ranging from 70’s to children under 1 year of age. Having enquired at other local venues, I decided that the Oak Tree was better suited for our needs in respect of size and cost & locality. We were kindly allowed access in good time to prepare the room for the event. Management at the pub had been badly let down by the DJ at a recent planned event there but they had worked hard to get a suitable replacement disco for the night at short notice. Our event went well & the food was good. I was very pleased with the way things went, Roz and her manager deserve a mention for their efforts in making the night an excellent experience.

Had the pleasure of meeting Emma and Holly, who are each the perfect ambassador of the Oak Tree. Our first visit was welcoming and by the second visit we felt like family. It was evident by the way they interacted with the locals, that this is truly their nature. See you soon.

3 of us ate here for sunday lunch and was very dissappointed with the food. We ordered via the app which was straight forward and food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but the food wasn't great at all. Roast beef was really tough and full of gristle. Roast potatoes looked overdone and tasted like they'd been reheated several times. yorkshire pudding was impossible to cut with a knife, dry and hard. carrots were also hard and dry and would have been softer if they were raw. eating it was a jaw work out! needless to say, we wont be returning

Thought we’de give it another try as we only live over the road and once again (3rd or 4th time) it fails miserably on customer service WHEN THEY MAKE MISTAKES. It’s every time ….. !!!! The So called chef needs a bit of training on customer service. Ordered the food at the bar. Waited a fair while (not excessive) and both plates of food put down and server legged it… Not given chance to see that one dish was totally wrong… after going back to the bar (Q) again…. to report the error, my dish going cold, bar staff reported the error to the kitchen. Server came back out and wanted to take wrong order back and recook it BUT ONLY WHEN I WENT BACK TO THE BAR TO PAY THE EXTRA £2 !!!! Yes £2 the difference between what they’de charged and whet came out (their fault remember)…. so I did (in a Q) ….. meanwhile my dish going cold and the server then wanted to (wait for it ) re-warm up my dish and come back out when the wrong one was recooked !!!!!!! Piss off…. Asked server to cook 2 fresh dishes to come out correct at the same time, only to have a message back from the dillusional chef that he wouldnt cook 2 fresh dishes .. I’m supposed to eat a soggy warned up dish 20 minutes later when the wife’s dish comes out .. Out of order, bad customer service… fel sorry for the lovely young lady that initially took the order, but obvious;y the chef and manager aren’t on the same page as her… Oh and p.s. the place needs a refund it smelt of wee as you went to the table . Our absolute favourite pub in the area. Hood's great value, staff are lovely and we feel really safe here because they're absolutely on top of the track and trace and cleaning.

Attended this pub a few times since the covid pandemic started. The pub is extremely well organised and safe. The staff are friendly and informative and the service is amazing. Well done to all involved and keep up the good work.

This review is over a few visits. I’ll start with the good, all of the staff (bar one or two), seem really friendly and welcoming, I don’t recall any name badges so I cannot compliment personally unfortunately, however the lady called Kate that served us was fantastic, the lady in the black safety pub top and black hair made us feel really safe and after we asked to order she explained that she couldn’t due to her job role, explained why then proceeded to quickly get Kate to serve us, both girls seemed lovely new additions to our local, We even got the exit doors sanitised before our eyes held open for me and my elderly parents upon leaving, both girls were very chatty and friendly! The deputy manager also couldn’t do enough for us, I’m unsure on his name but he was a tall man with glasses, very welcoming smile— overall, amazing visit!Now onto the bad.This is based on a previous visit, the landlady, Roz (I only assume that’s her name from the entrance block), didn’t seem to be doing a great deal, the pub was busy, lively and all of the team seemed rushed off their feet, while the landlady was doing nothing but sitting on a table with some men and scowling at customers. The staff seemed uncomfortable around her which was really sad to see. There was a friendly host however, she introduced herself as Fran I think, greeted us with a smile despite the obvious stress from the shift, and seated us down. One of the staff, not only looked down on us for this visit, but ignored our gesture to be served, then once she stopped ignoring us, took our drink order, only for us to have to ask almost an hour later where our drinks were, to be told they hadn’t even been put into the till. It’s very unfortunate I didn’t catch her name but it was such a let down when all the other staff were so kind and welcoming. (The rude lady had messy brown/blonde hair and was the only staff member wearing makeup, that I saw). Overall, it depends on the staff and management on the day of visiting, wether you’ll have a good or bad visit in our opinion. I’d recommend some team bonding as I’m sure the landlady was just stressed on this visit, and I’m sure the staff would look more comfortable if they had more closeness with the landlady (I presume this is why they looked uncomfortable, as when the gentleman with the glasses was on they were all at ease).

We visited the Oak Tree pub several times during the EOTHO scheme and have been back since due to the impressive Covid controls in place in the pub. We are very impressed by the high standards/rules for Covid where we feel very safe and really comfortable, hence we keep coming back. Tom,Tre and the team always ,make us feel very welcome , show us the controls in place and look after us really well. The cleaning of tables is very good too. The Manager (Roz) is very friendly, always cheery and is very helpful with us . She's a good un and runs a good pub. The food has always been really nice , no complaints at all (compliments to the chef) and the beer selection is cracking (love the Tribute - always a good pint). Pub is great, safe and we'll keep on coming back.
