O' Sheas Bar and Grill in Luton

Good night out for Xmas. However, my friend was trying to get in and the people at the door were extremely rude. They said they was at maximum capacity but two people walked on in just after and once my other friend left they still did not let him in. They also claimed he was drunk when he wasn’t. Not sure if it was discrimination because he is gay but I would recommend new staff for the door as this made my experience unpleasant.

Before I start, yes this is my local and has been for 5 years which will make this review biased but there's a reason why I come back and it's only fair I share this tradition Irish pub! Family run and friendly, which caters to all with a great selection of drinks, honest good food at competitive prices, Sports and live music! A proper pub I feel blessed to have on my doorstep!

A fabulous run pub, with an extremely lovely menu, The staff were exceptional Lovely Family Run pub, with beer garden & entertainment provided too. Well worth a visit.

We visited today after dropping a relation to Luton airport. We have passed O’Shea’s many times but have never had food there. Our mistake, the food was so tasty, the best roast potatoes I have ever had. Food was freshly prepared, proper carrots, not frozen, clean. I hate veg where you see the dirt. They were cooked to perfection, not hard. Good portions and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Do not pass this place, just go and have a great Sunday roast. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you to O’Sheas, do not change!

Mainly go here when bands are on, always a good atmosphere, staff friendly. Food is good, steaks are really good, and my mates rave about the connemara chicken. if your lucky to get one of the food tables on a band night its pretty much perfect!

Went here for drinks one night & noticed how busy it was for food, so called in one sunday, booked for 4 & table was ready when we arrived, a waitress gave us menus and took a drinks order, i had the spicy prawns, very good, other had skins and wings, all very good, all of opted for the roast beef, very good and served with fresh vegetables, would go again and try the steaks.

Come to this pub mainly for the amazing Sunday roast, but was passing through mid week so called in for dinner, it was fairly busy, large group in the raised dining area, so got a table down by the stage, Got a pint of neckoil which is a great beer. Service was good & my order was taken quickly, although i was told food might be a little longer than usual because of large group, i ordered the T bone steak, i have to say it was so good, cooked medium rare, lovely feel about the place.

Good old fashioned service. Nice staff and nothing to much trouble. The food was great, home cooked and decent size portions. Everything we ordered was good. We have been looking for a place like this to eat for a long time and we will be back as regulars without a shadow of a doubt. In fact I will be returning tonight!!Credit to the staff who are clearly all well trained, polite organised and helpful. Great all round visit. If I could add one very minor constructive criticism/suggestion it is ditch the sauce sachets and replace with bottles. The sachets drive me insane. Wayne

Me and my wife and kids had a table booked today and when we arrived our booking was cancelled because my are from a travelling background. The landlord blatantly said he would wouldn’t serve us because he had trouble last weekend. We asked if he thought we where involved to which he just looked at the floor. I asked him if he was proud of himself he again looked at the floor.Today would have been my third visit here although it’s the first time I’ve bumped into the landlord..Hang your head in shame.. 2019 acting like it’s in 1940’s America!!! I am disgusted with you to say the least.

Have been going here for years, always good, a really good & varied menu. a few things i would recommend are, the hot wings, they are so good!! The Connemara chicken is also really nice, Husband loves the T bone steak & we often go for the roast on a Sunday, which is probably one of the best in town.

Visited with my son for a meal and to watch the Champions League as they have multiple TV's and a big screen. Wasn't disappointing at all! The pub is very cosy and with warm locals. Staff very friendly and the food was excellent. We both had a burger and was deliciously cooked at the grill with lots of flavour. Really enjoyed it. Atmosphere was nice and friendly, so will definitely be back again when in town. Great experience.

Popped in on Sunday 14th April , didn't book and was surprised to see every table full, good mix of families and people watching the football, i asked about getting a table and was told about 30 min wait, watching the football so fine. 20 mins later table was ready, ordered the homemade soup, and my wife got a prawn salad both came with homemade irish bread, mains i had the Rump steak and it was perfect, my wife got the roast lamb and really enjoyed, a lovely afternoon, liverpool won!

Went here with some friends who live locally for Sunday lunch, Arrived just after 1pm, it was fairly quiet, friendly waitress sat us down, our order was taken promptly, all of us getting the roasts, it arrived quickly i had the beef which was excellent, plenty of fresh vegetables, homemade yorkshire pud! my friends had the lamb & salmon, would highly recommend.

Was back working at the airport, so got the chance to visit this lovely pub again, only 5 mins from our hotel in a taxi.

This is a lovely cosy Irish pub off the beaten track. A short walk from the town centre and it is most welcoming. It wasn't too expensive and the drinks were good. The best thing about this pub is the delicious food. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere was great too. Also it's not too far from the airport if you fancy a drink and dinner before a flight. Highly recommended.

Came in for Sunday lunch, was just passing through so didn't book but got a table for 2 no problem, and just ordered the roast beef, it was excellent and pretty good value, the service was good considering this is a pub not a restaurant, will probably come back and spend a bit more time here.

Popped in here as a friend plays in a band here and hes always going on about the food.

This pub was recommended by our hotel, and we were not disappointed, the welcome was warm from the young lady behind the bar, we were seated and served drinks,I can recommend the G & T's! food was good quality pub food , my colleague had the T Bone steak which he said was very good & i had the Cajun chicken as the server recommended it,, is was spicy! Will be back when working in the area.

Went on bank holiday Monday it was not busy and there only appeared to be one girl working there for the majority of the time we were there. Another girl did appear towards the end but the service was still rather slow. The food is nothing to write home about possibly the most bland garlic bread I have ever tasted, I have probably had better from a supermarket. I got fish and chips the fish was mushy and did not taste at tall like cod, so much so I doubt that it is. If it is it must be very poor quality have had much better at other local establishments. The others I was with all enjoyed their food and had no complaints the bill was cheap enough would return and avoid the fish.

I recently wrote a critical review of O'Sheas, upon reading it Michael contacted me and invited me to a refund or another meal. I decided to go back and have another meal as I have previously had numerous excellent meals there. I was not disappointed the food was lovely and the customer service I received was second to none. Well done Michael a lovely evening and a great meal.

This pub has great potential, but the food is fatty and mediocre. The landlord is above his station and destroys ambience. Hopefully this pub changes management otherwise I'd avoid.

Not quite sure how to start this review, I’ve been going to O’sheas for years and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere , but sadly today my steak was not only tough but over cooked , I always believe in giving constructive criticism rather than never going back. I mentioned to the girl serving us and she went into the kitchen and they offered to cook me another steak which I thanked them for the person coming with me had eaten most of his steak even though his too was tough so we left that. Then the land lady brought the first steak to me in a dish and quite aggressively asked me what was wrong with it , I explained and also stated that I was not complaining for any gain I just wanted s properly cooked steak . She picked the steak up and said she had tasted it snd that in her opinion it was cooked correctly. I left then and I am very upset by this as I have been going into O’sheas since they came to Luton and have always had a lovely time .

Visited O’Shea’s for a 70th birthday. The food was excellent as was the service. A great place to eat and a great pub. Would definitely recommend it.

Visited on a Monday night, 1st time to go for food as had been recommended to us. The food was excellent, great portion sizes and great flavour. All reasonably priced. Would recommend to all for a great steak. We will be back.

I visited O'Shea's twice whilst visiting Luton over the last few days. Great service, great food and great beer. The best pub in Luton by a country mile.

went in there on the 4th august every thing was fine until mr oshea kicked me and my mum out for unfounded accusations. I was a regular customer watching my mayo matches for years and spent thousand's of pounds over the years but I guess if your face does not fit this is the way you are treated.

Great food large portions and very reasonably priced. Bar staff really friendly and efficient. Located walking distance to town centre. Good bands, Irish Folk and popular covers. All age ranges. Good atmosphere. Outdoor seated area. Traditional style decor.

I have eaten here on a number of occasions. Each time the service has been fast and efficient. The food has been lovely and all at a good price. Good for families, couples or friends.

Great Bar staff very friendly but the food was ok and could be a little better. Just walking distance form where we stayed and I would imagine that it would be great when there is live music.

There were not many customers in when I visited. The menu did not contain many surprises if you are expecting pub grub. What I had was very nice, freshly cooked and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and efficient.

Heas o nunca deja de sorprendernos con su excelente comida. Las porciones son de un buen tamaño, toda la comida está recién hecho y el precio es muy razonable. Heas o tienen un montón de grandes bandas en los fines de semana. Los propietarios y el personal es fantástico y hace lo posible por ayudar en general gran pub con una real ambiente familiar.

went here for lunch yesterday , great food - best wings outside New York , there was live music as well which was a pleasant surprise.

Staying opposite the bar in a hotel so popped across for a meal and a few drinks but after looking at the menu was about to order when the barmaid apologised and said they were full tonight and not taking anymore orders so I left without trying but bar was 3/4 full and menu looked reasonable.

Food is good, football is usually on, the bar tenders were very nice and charming. Very basic menu, but everything is good.

Recently ate here at the weekend with a group of 10 plus.While the pub is fine the food side of things leave a lot to be desired Firstly after reserving a table we then had to ask could they take the order having waited well over a half hour.We were then told there was only one fillet steak left bearing in mind that this was early sunday ? We then asked for well done on 3 of the other steaks which was not the case and also for pepper sauce which arrived no word of a lie 10 minutes later the girl did apologise for the delay. The starters were all very good but felt let down by the main courses.Overall nice pub that shows all the matches bar main courses

We visited on a Thursday night after checking into the hotel opposite.Lady behind the bar was very helpful as boyfriend has dietary issues and menu isn't really marked up clearly in this respect.Had a main course each plus a cider each and came to about £25 which was a little pricey for what it was,but never the less food was nice enough and no complaints about quality or quantity.

Visited many times. Most recently for a birthday night out. This pub is basically one rectangular room with a raised dais as a restaurant area. There is a long bar facing as you walk in and toilet and outdoor area round the back. The range of drinks is adequate and reasonably priced. They will always do a coffee or tea in the bar area also. The food is surprisingly good. A fairly basic menu offers a decent choice of meats and all seem to be well presented and delivered. The waitress style is definitely more 'homely' than restaurant. Food timings seemed to be ok. Although we were busy enjoying the comfortable atmosphere to notice. The age range is varied but a little 'older' biased. There was no music on the last Friday we were there but the board had notice of many upcoming acts. Mainly on Saturday's. To summarise a well run friendly establishment. Would recommend.

We visited O'Sheas a few weeks ago and I have been meaning to post a review as it was the best night out I have had in a long time! We arrived early so that we could eat and the food was great, we had a mixture of burgers, steak and chicken between the 6 of us and everyone loved it. The bar staff were really friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. We had a few drinks and then the live music started, It was fantastic, the atmosphere was buzzing with people singing along and a few people dancing near the stage. We felt like we were on holiday in Ireland. We will definitely be going back, I can't think of a better pub to go to if you are looking for great food, friendly service and fantastic music.

This was our second visit in recent months and it is superb - Food brilliant, Music brilliant, Service Brilliant.

Great local pub. Very friendly staff. Regular Guinness which is really good. Great value for money. Burgers are really good too. If ever in Luton again I will definitely come back here

Having complained on here about our first visit, the manager contacted us and offered a free Sunday lunch to make up for it. We went last Sunday and had a lovely meal - service was good and food was great. We will be back now.

We went tonight to meet up with friends, great atmosphere, lovely old pub.Food was good, staff were lovely, fab night.. Great music

Went there yesterday to celebrate St Patrick's Day. Was recommend the food there. Got there about 4.30 and tried to order some food, was told they were not taking orders at that time as they were busy - said should be ok in half an hour. An hour later asked if we could order food - told another hour. Got to about six thirty - still unable to order food - was then asked if we could give up our table as some regulars needed a table and the people on their regular table wouldn't move!!!! Was offered a complementary drink but by then we were starving and did not feel very welcome. Wished they had been honest up front about the food, we could have gone somewhere else.

Seemed busy so it must be popular with the locals, although I can't see what the fuss is about. Only downside, not much seating if you wanted food.

The j20 orange I got to admit was really nice but the soup was very watery and had no taste to it and really cold and I adore my soup I was really upset and the steak was really chewy when I asked for a sirloin steak not a rump. I advise you Not get the home made vegetable soup.

Bit dated inside but always welcoming, not the largest menu but offer's enough choice food is well cooked and presented, good value for money. Bare in mind this is a pub not a restaurant, has an elevated eating area but you can eat anywhere in the place.Sunday lunch is the best in town. At week-end's there is always entertainment on.

This is a run of the mill pub with run of the mill service, slightly run down inside with the feel of an old mans pub! Not for everyone but I'm sure it pleases some, seems to be a large amount of high scoring reviewers have joined trip advisor and only ever reviewed this pub!! Strange that!!!

I always walked past this place without going in, but i thought i would one day and im really glad i did, best pub in luton easily nice staff unlike the miserable faces u see in westherspoons if u want to enjoy a pint or a meal u will be satisfied a plenty , if u aint been here i would highly recommend , relaxed atmosphete and all rounder, thanks for a good time

Had a roast dinner today at this pub, the dinner was average size, didn't feel me up. 1 roast potato on plate. Had to sit at the bar as there were n tables to sit at. Hence 2* rating.

A cheerful restaurant with a lively musical event every Saturday. Food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Best steaks and very friendly service

We came to Luton on business and the hotel was not that nice so decided to eat out and we came across this amazing place the food is outstanding and has a great atmosphere

due to our hotel being well not nice we searched for a local eatery and came across O'Sheas and where we grateful superb food and very welcoming with a good atmosphere

I was pleasantly surprised with o'sheas! The dinner was really lovely and the staff were friendly. We had the sharing platter for a starter which was ok, but not great. My husband had the Cajun chicken and I had the burger and both really enjoyed our meals and trying each other's!

Never been in a nicer pub!! Staff are friendly, food is yummy and they have some brilliant bands in very recommended.

This is a great pub , walking distance to the town centre . The food is really good would recommend the Cajun chicken, also has good live music at weekends , has all the sport channels and shows the irish sports as well . If you visit Luton on a night out would recommend visiting this pub

Came here with partner for sunday lunch. ... lovely warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff and service were great The food was lovely, just like homemade. Delicious. Will definitely return.

I cannot recommend this pub enough. It has it all, great food, great bands, great atmosphere. The hot buffalo wings are brilliant, steak amazing, fantastic fajitas and as for the roast you would never cook on a Sunday again. They have a lovely menu for kids too and nothing seems to be a bother to the staff as they are always very friendly and helpful. The pinot grigio is very good too! ;-)

It's such a delight when you discover a place like O'Shea's out of the blue where you least expect it. We popped in early for a quick meal, starved after being delayed on a return flight into Luton and expecting the basic pub grub but we were so pleased by the service and food that we forgot our annoyance and delighted in what was an extended holiday experience. We were approached welcomed and seated cosily within minutes. The whole place had the clean feel of a friendly family run business - which it is - with customers and staff eager to suggest favourites from a decent wide ranging menu. The steaks we had came perfectly cooked and presented with all the trimmings exactly to our taste and the wine too a delight. And then the band started - just a fabulous evening - highly recommended

Travelling from London I popped in for a bite to eat and had delicious wholesome food with a fantastic atmosphere.

Authentic Irish family run bar with a lively atmosphere . Great live music at weekends . Food is gorgeous and very reasonably priced . Always is our pub of choice in Luton.

Have used this pub many times and have no hesitation in recommending it for its brilliant food and service. It is an extremely well run pub with friendly bar staff and great music at the weekend. The Connemara chicken is to die for as are many of the other dishes on the varied menu - my favourite little spot in Luton and hard to imagine there are 48 higher ranked restaurants in the town!

I have nothing but good things to say about O'Sheas. Having worked there for several years as a student, I feel at home every time I go there. The menu has several homemade dishes which I would definitely recommend including Connemara chicken and their tasty buffalo wings. I often go to O'Sheas with friends and family and we always leave satisfied with the food and service. At Christmas, my friends and I had a Christmas meal here from a set menu, 3courses for £15 and it was lovely. The menu is reasonably priced and is good quality. O'Sheas often has live bands on including the popular Biblecode Sundays who attract a crowd and the atmosphere is great. Would definitely recommend a visit here for a warm atmosphere and great food!

Always had a excellent experience in O'Sheas. Warm and friendly atmosphere whatever day / time you go. Food is amazing and prices are very responsible. Would recommend to anybody. Can't wait to return!

Great hospitality from the bar staff to management, excellent food, but most of all it is the great Guinness that keeps bringing my husband in, time after time. WELL DONE FOLKS!!

Really nice friendly pub, good simple pub food, recommend the Cajun chicken and the burgers. Great live music on Saturdays. Always found bar staff to be friendly and up for a laugh, told the owner is also the chef so couldn't agree on the previous passing comments

Great food. Freshly cooked and lovely presentation. The only downside to eating here is the lack of ambience. The owner / proprietor always appears miserable as do most staff. Can't fault the food though.
