Had afternoon tea with family. Sandwiches and cakes were lovely and tasty. Staff very helpful and friendly and great service. We also sometimes visit for breakfast and love their eggs benedict.

Very nice cake shop in Rainham. Enjoyed many an enjoyable afternoon here, can get a little noisy but that's just part of the hustle and bustle of a successful cafe.

We frequently visit Nutmegs and decided to use them for a surprise 60th birthday party, and we’re able to book the whole cafe on a Sunday. We had twelve people, one vegetarian, and had an afternoon tea for the party. Trent and Meghan were easy to book with and a confirmation came through five days before the party. We had a few drop outs before the party (originally booked for 15), and this was easily accommodated. On the day, we were allowed access an hour early for decoration. When the birthday girl arrived, the team quickly sprung into action and we were served tea, coffee, the sandwiches and cakes as well as other soft drinks. As usual, the food was amazing, fresh, and homemade. We also asked for a Victoria sponge cake which was delicious. Our vegetarian friend received their own mini plates and a quiche instead of the incredible sausage rolls. They put on some soft music to complete the intimate atmosphere. We managed to eat what we could and took the rest home. All in all, an amazing experience at a very affordable price. I heartily recommend Nutmegs for breakfast, lunch, or a party.

My favourite place on the high street. I'm always suggesting we go down to Nutmegs for a coffee and a scone and they never fail to exceed expectations! Met a friend for a cappuccino, quick, friendly service (Poppy). Coffee was good, tasty beans used. I didn't eat this time but my friend had scramble eggs and bacon on toast. Looked nice, he enjoyed it. I will.definitely be going back to try their poached eggs, which looked excellent. Less than £3 for a good cuppa. If the food next time is as good as it looks, I'll revise my review to 5⭐

We shared two of the boards and they were amazing! The service was spot on and the ambience is lovely and chill. We have been before, but it seems even better than the last time. We will definitely be making this a regular spot. Highly recommended.

I have had in mind for while to try the mochi waffles and finally got round to it... they are so delicious! The texture of these waffles are perfect and the grilled pineapple was a delicious accompaniment. All the food at Nutmegs is tasty, well made and presented beautifully. Look forward to returning soon :)

Lovely food, service a bit slow at first. Young girl needs training. Asked twice for more drinks befor she brought them . Asked for water & she brought me luke warm tap water!!!! Lovely staff. Very busy by 14.30when we left. Had the ploughman's & it was lovely. Definitely go back

My friend and I ate here on Wednesday this week. We had chicken flatbread with greek salad and she had a chicken, avocado salad. The flavours were amazing and food was so fresh and tasty. Love the atmosphere here and the girls in there are always so happy and friendly.

Had the most delicious lunch today. The experience was just lovely from start to finish. Had my 9 month old little girl with me and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Great high chair which attaches to their own chairs, she loved sitting at the table with us! Highly recommend, can’t believe we haven’t been sooner! Thanks again x

I've been here several times and always had a good experience. This time I met a couple of friends and we enjoyed drinks with scones and a very tasty sausage roll and chilli jam. The waiting staff are always polite, friendly and accommodating. A very popular place, so I usually book online.

I've just visited Nutmegs for the first time to have breakfast with my husband and what a pleasant experience from start to finish. The staff are just lovely. It's cosy, inviting with great decor and the breakfast and coffee was delish. I had the eggs benedict, a flat white and the American pancakes with bacon crumb. Such a lovely way to start my day. Thanks guys, can't wait for my next visit and to try the lunch menu :)

Lovely little coffee shop. Very friendly staff. A nice cup of coffee with a biscuits. Their food is great. Cakes even better. And i loved that they took our food order without writing it down and remembered. Well impressed.

Always friendly staff and food is lovely

we popped into nutmeg for coffee on Thursday, always found it to be nice .How disappointed were we . .. coffee was OK, the scone was warm ( we were not asked if we wanted it hot or cold) and undercooked and the trace of butter was ludicrous nearly £9 for the most unsatisfactory experience Greeted with a young man wearing shorts ...not udeal ....Will not be returning

My daughter had a Baby shower there today ! Excellent service and omg the most amazing sausage rolls ! Lots of delicious food ! Unlimited teas and coffee ! Scones , cakes ! Smoked Salmon and cream wraps ! Definitely recommend it for any occasion ! Will definitely return

We had the Signature afternoon tea which was lovely. Great selection of savoury items, cakes & scones all made on the premises & beautifully presented. Plentiful tea which was full bodied just as I like it. Excellent attentive service too. Highly recommended!

Pleasant staff, but was disappointed that the jam for to scones was a bit miserly, although plenty of cream! Apart from that it was great.

What a perfect gem! We had breakfast at Nutmegs this morning. The service was prompt, polite and very helpful. The tea was piping hot and very tasty. My husband had a half stack of pancakes with maple syrup and I had the fruit bowl (creamy yoghurt and fresh fruit). Both were absolutely fabulous. I wish I’d taken a picture of my fruit bowl, it was beautifully presented. Thank you, we’ll be back when we’re in the area.

Lovely cafe, quick service and good food. The only reason it is not 5 star is because of the main road and how loud it is. Obviously this hasn't affected them too much as you'll need to book at table in advance to get a seat at peak times.

Really welcoming café / tearooms the staff were friendly. We arrived quite late for lunch so missed baked potatoes. But… second choices were delicious the fish platter really lovely and my egg mayo on brown great balance of egg and bread. The brown bread wasn’t wholemeal but a lovely seeded brown. We were compelled to have cake. The coffee cake needed more coffee and walnuts but was a light sponge; the poppyseed and blood orange cake was deliciously orangey. We took home pomegranate and clementine cake for him in doors, he was delighted with it. As an aside, the afternoon teas looked scrumptious as well.

I booked an afternoon tea which said £13 so I booked it for 4 people expecting two afternoon teas. I paid a deposit of £20. Once I got there I asked to take one pot of tea off and replaced it with a coffee so no problem. Once finished I was presented with a bill for £40!! So they charged me £15 per person!! I questioned this and they said their website needs updating ( not my problem I thought) but they refunded me £8. For what you get it is not worth £13 PER PERSON which is one sandwich, 2 tiny scones, 3 miniscule cakes and a hot drink. It would have been cheaper to just go in and buy a sandwich and a cake of choice with a hot drink. It was a one off so I'm not gonna dwell on it but the website is misleading - be warned. The staff were nice though.

I hired Nutmeg’s privately on a recent Sunday afternoon to celebrate a milestone birthday with 15 friends and I have to say we all had the most perfect afternoon. From start to finish the two lovely ladies ,the chef and our very own personal waitress, could not have been more helpful or accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious, many of my friends were new to Nutmegs and commented on how good the food was. There was such a relaxed atmosphere and a great ambiance, we all had so much fun . It’s a pleasure to support an independent local business and I would thoroughly recommend . A little gem .

Love it. Clean and tidy and fresh. Freshly prepared food compared to factory churned out plastic overpriced sandwiches at Costa two doors away. I mean why wouldnt you go to Nutmegs? Only complaint is I wished they'd open longer (5pm at least) and Sundays for a Sunday lunch

This was a present bought for us. I had never heard of the place but after being, can truly say worth a visit. I am gluten intolerant and gave them a few days warning. The afternoon tea was nicely presented, tasted lovely and a good variety of things to eat. Can highly recommend them.

What a lovely little gem! We went out for breakfast and wanted to try somewhere different then the usual places. A lovely small place, clean and presented with pride. Staff super friendly & attentive and not intrusive or absent. Good fresh and very good tasting. We had pancakes, eggs Benedict, fresh O-juice and great tasting coffee. We will definitely return and tell our friends about this lovely place.

A lovely late lunch today! We had a delicious bagel and some scones with clotted cream and jam. The cafe was very clean with staff keeping on top of the cleaning throughout the time there. Felt welcome and relaxed. Very good value for money!

I am trying to go vegan and they made the most delicious vegan bagel. Lovely atmosphere and no rush feeling. The food is gorgeous.

Lovely lunch, great service, friendly, attentive, took the time the talk to customers and seemed genuinely grateful for the custom. The seafood board was the best (local produce) and the homemade tartar sauce was the best ever!! My daughter said her grilled sandwich was her best sandwich she’s ever had. Coffee was also lovely. The homemade cakes looked awesome and we’ll definitely be back very soon to sample these!

Popped in for a coffee, see the menu and had to give the pancakes a try. They were AMAZING and they do a great coffee. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Would 100% recommend and will be going here again!

Fantastic little gem....fish finger bagel, with fresh fish brought in from the local fish monger and battered themselves; top quality. Coffee was perfect, too! I would usually opt for the Costa next door without giving this place a thought, but I won't go back to Costa now.
