Excellent restaurant serving Tapas style small plates of Italian food. Friendly service and a chilled out atmosphere.

I struggle to see the value in the pricing of the food they offer. Admittedly, they do clarify that it's a Tapas style, suggesting three items per person (though I found two per person to be sufficient). As for the food itself, the pizza resembled more of a crispy cracker with cheese than the traditional pizza I've encountered in my travels across six countries. Its crust was excessively crisp, reminiscent of leaving a pizza in the oven for too long. In terms of service, it was adequate, but the staff seemed somewhat inattentive. When my partner inquired about non-caffeinated hot drinks, they recommended a fruit tea, which was enjoyable. However, they neglected to mention that the Chocolate Bonet dessert we ordered contained a comparable amount of caffeine to a small cup of coffee. Regarding the ambiance, it stands out as one of the finer dining establishments in Northampton, making it a suitable choice for date nights.

Lovely restaurant with great choice of foods but dishes are on the very small side so you are encouraged to buy more. Most are delicious but the chicken and lemon was like a soup dish but other than that worth a visit.

This is a lovely restaurant where we had great food, everyone enjoyed their courses, the service was spot on and would definitely return.

This Resturant is exquisite, what they serve goes beyond just being called food. The place is Spartacus, the Stradivarius of any Resturant I've been to, Ottolyngi has nothing on this experience.

My friend and I dined here on a Friday night having pre-booked a table in advance via their website. We arrived slightly early but the staff were fantastic and found us a table very promptly. The service throughout was fantastic from every staff member we encountered. The restaurant itself is centrally located in Northampton and easy to find. The décor and atmosphere inside is very nice. They recommend ordering 3 items each but we wanted to try so many things we ended up getting 4 each. Every dish we tried was delicious. The slow cooked beef in particular was exceptional. We got some dessert afterwards too - the tiramisu was lovely. Overall, this is one of the best Italian meals we have had in the UK and is definitely our favourite restaurant in Northampton. We cannot wait to return!

My husband and I came here years ago now and remembered it to be good. I wanted to book somewhere for us to go as our last valentine's day as a couple before we welcome our baby to the world. I wouldn't usually go for a set menu option but the choice was good and I knew we'd find something we both wanted on it. I actually thought the value for money was great as the food was very very good! We love this style of eating and considering the restaurant was very busy all the staff were so chilled and it made for the perfect "last meal" as it were so thank you for a lovely lasting memory. We ate here on the recommendation of friends, we were not disappointed. The food was imaginative, beautifully cooked & delicious. The service was top notch, polite, friendly & efficient without being intrusive. The restaurant itself is elegant without being stuffy. All in all well worth a visit.

Two couples enjoyed a fantastic dinner for my birthday treat last November. Nuovo is a lovely Venetian restaurant serving a huge range of tapas style dishes. We each chose our particular favorite dishes and then chose other dishes to share, the dishes are deceptively filling so we found we had more than enough to eat with our choices. A lovely evening was enjoyed by all, definitely recommended.

This was my 3rd visit to Nuovo and had rated it as one of my favourite places to eat. Sadly i felt a bit disappointed this time. Our first dish we had to return as it was cold. The chicken dish wasn't very hot either but tasted good. I felt that the plates had less on them than before. The staff were lovely as usual but felt they were less knowledgeable of the menu than I had previously encountered. I'm hoping it was just a blip in its usual standards

The food was really good but not too keen on the derserts, will definitely go back.

It's not our 1st visit to this beautiful restaurant. It's an absolute gem. Highly recommend.

Went for my birthday and was so lovely. Waitresses explained well the menu and how many dishes to order each. I enjoyed every dish but the pasta dishes, they weren’t any special compared to the rest of the menu. But would 100% visit again.

The food is absolutely delicious and if you are in the neighbourhood is definitely worth stopping and tasting the food

Very nice place to go for italian tapas. Service is really good, our servers were very friendly. The burrata and dark chocolate torte is very nice. Think it's a good way to try a few different items.

Been going to Nuovo for a few years now. The staff are polite, helpful and always a warm welcome. The food has been fantastic from the first meal to my last always consistent, cooks are friendly and food isn't a bad price. I can always expect a great experience and will encourage anyone to go.

My colleague and myself went on Wednesday night 13th December 2023. The owner was there he was very chatty and had a good laugh with him. We were over from cork in Ireland , the food was excellent and service was better. Lovely warm inviting restaurant. Thank you for a great meal and top class service

The best about the place is the draught beer. If you are seeking Italian food, avoid by all means Calamari was undercooked Gambaroni was underwhelming and the prawns are obviously cooked in advance Pizza is poor; the base is more like a biscuit.. tesco pizza is much better The chicken tasted like rubber and it was too chewy Believe me you are better with scrambled egg at home!! The price was ok

A lovely place to visit and tucked away from the rush and bustle of the town centre. Good food and friendly attentive staff with Italian dishes served tapas style. Not sure about the 70’s disco soundtrack and I suspect the owner has a rather idiosyncratic musical taste!

Lovely restaurant, not been before. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious we picked six different small sized tapas dishes which were plenty. This place is well worth a visit if you love Italian food.

Visited last night with my wife. Nuovo is a beautifully lit intimate restaurant with great food. However, the young friendly attentive waiters and waitresses made our night. Our first but not our last visit.

Am-az-ing…. I have lived in Northampton for over 20 years and never knew this place was here. Literally everything was on point, the ambiance, the food, the wine, the service. Will return 100% Only (very slight) criticism is that the toilets don’t match up to front of house - maybe hand cream, premium hand wash and flowers would finish it off nicely. Other than that - utterly brilliant

Whilst visiting family & friends on our trip from New Zealand we found this the very best place to eat..

I have been 4 times this year and Nuovo disappoints. We order different dishes every time and the quality is always incredible. I also LOVE the Roccomora wine. The service and ambiance is always exceptional. It feels like you aren't even in Northampton. Thank you for always making our experience so special.

Lot of variety. Food was really tasty. Concept is great. Small Italian tapas, which means you can have more of your favourite Italian plates. Great selection of drinks. Staff are extremely friendly and really look after you. Will come back here again.

Our first visit to this hidden gem and absolutely loved it. Warmly welcomed on arrival and seated where we chose. Staff were knowledgeable and explained the menu very well. The food was superb and I wished I'd had room for more and would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a good dining experience. I hadn’t realised this was Italian in tapas style but we really enjoyed our choices of lamb, roasted cauliflower, and courgette fries. My friend is local so I plan to come back!

The food is like tapas but Italian, so lots of small dishes. We ordered 2 pasta dishes and 2 pizza dishes. The pizzas were underwhelming with few toppings and a below average base. The service was very attentive and efficient, however we found it robotic at times, especially when seating us and explaining the specials of the day.

We booked for Monday as expected it to be quiet, there was a lovely buzzy atmosphere which was so nice to see. As always we had a fabulous meal with great service. We had a good selection of dishes, all were delicious, the Tuna from the specials was exquisite! By far my favourite restaurant in Northampton!

Fantastic. We had plenty of choice, there were a lot of vegan options available. The pasta was excellent. Service was perfect. Good atmosphere, it was busy on a Thursday evening. Booking is a good idea. We parked at the st Michael's carpark nearby which was only a short walk.

First came here back in November for my birthday. Now try to go every couple of months. We tend to order a bit of everything, and spread out through the evening so if someone perhaps isn’t liking something as much as another you’ll soon get a new flavor to the table 😄 the atmosphere is chilled, and you can actually hear yourself think/and talk to the people you are dining with! Which I love! Service is always good, with a good selection behind the bar.

We tried out Nuovo because there are plenty of vegan options. The food was gorgeous and the service was very friendly and attentive. This will surely become one of our new favourites!

3 of us and a toddler came here. We opted for the courtyard (very kid safe) on accounts of the toddler. Service was exceptional, they went above and beyond. The food was better than excellent! The wine was perfect, and they even opened two bottles to let us choose which one was best for us. Thanks to you all! We just wish you were also open on Sunday as we really wanted to come back!

Absolute GEM in a mildly downtrodden town. Excellent food, really cool space of a traditional building rehabbed with modern elements like skylights

Superb food, very well priced. It’s tapas style Italian which is great as it gives you the chance to try things you may not normally go for, instead of the usual pizza or pasta due to our rather vanilla palette. Only need about 3 dishes eat per person as the portion sizes are really good. Service was quick, food was out quick, and the atmosphere and setting was really nice from the unassuming front you walk through. Would highly recommend.

Tapas italian to share. The food was delicious. However, the octopus pasta was incredibly spicy! The cocktails were divine! The outdoor decor needs an update as the paint is peeling on the wall. The restaurant inside was really busy but the outdoor area was quite quiet and the service was really good even though we were sitting outside.

Delicious food! We got enough food to feed 6 people and it was only around 150 (before tip). They were super accommodating for removing allergens too!

Beautiful food with fantastic staff

Exceptionally good! Best in Northampton! The food was creative and superb. Really flavorful. Italian tapas is a good idea, lets you taste a few different items. I loved the atmosphere, spacious, with nice natural light with the skylights, just a tasteful modernization of an old building. As for dishes, the vegetable gnocchi was just perfect! If I made the Rotolo, I'd use a longer pasta noodle, roll the pasta tighter, ease off the provolone and add ricotta so you get that pasta taste and texture. A big lump of melted provolone is a bit hard to chew. Nit picking here.

Lovely Italian gem of Northampton

Last night, me and my colleagues attended here and due to my problems with digesting fat and gallstones, I was extremely worried. I had the best fat free food ever and chef prepared them just for me to not feeling left out and enjoy eating like others. Past few months being on waiting list for a surgery, I had the most difficult time due to not being able to socialising and enjoying food with family and friends. Last night their food and service wasn't just perfect, it was also showing their high level of understanding of dietary restrictions. I can't believe I had a meal like everyone else, fat free and extremely delicious. Thanks 🙏🏼

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, I tried Nuovo early evening on a Monday in June before going to a show at The Royal + Derngate Theatre, a short walk away. This was only my second visit to Northampton - and, in truth, I hadn't expected to find an Italian restaurant specialising in tapas in the city centre. It's set back off the main road and the interior looks great. Not surprisingly, given the date/my arrival time, the restaurant wasn't very busy. I was given a warm welcome by Caleb who was my prime waiter, ably assisted by 2 waitresses. The service was friendly, efficient and timely. Caleb explained the tapas format, saying that most people order 2 to 4 dishes. He emphasised that the dishes would be delivered when they had been prepared/cooked - which duly occurred. I chose 4 dishes : Polpete di Tonno (tuna in 5 breaded balls), tomato salad, lamb rump (5 pieces "to be served "pink"") and fries. All were good size and very tasty. The fries (served in a wire basket) were outstanding. Unfortunately, 2 of the pieces of lamb were rather tough which was disappointing as the other 3 pieces were excellent. I commented to one of the waitresses about the lamb who said she would feedback to the kitchen. I wondered whether the restaurant would offer to provide me with 2 replacement pieces - they didn't. Neither did they reduce the bill/offer something on a complimentary basis, which was rather disappointing, which I commented to Caleb when leaving. That said, I would otherwise recommend the restaurant and I will return as and when I am next in Northampton.

The best resturant for miles arround..

Went for a lunchtime meal. Food was tapas style, so we ordered dishes to share. They were all very tasty and well presented. We were spoilt for choice and had lots to eat. There was quite a varied menu for vegetarians also. Customer service was excellent.

Wife and I decided to visit after a recommendation by a work colleague...we were not disappointed. The service is professional, relaxed and all staff knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu, exactly what you would expect. The difference with this restaurant being an Italian style tapas place is the food is brought to you independently of your ordering as and when it is ready. This was a pretty exciting change to the usual norm of starters/mains etc, allowing you to sample a different, tasty bite every time. They do recommend 2-3 dishes each to make for a substantial meal, however being our first time we wanted to try more. We ordered 8 dishes and still have room for dessert! A little gem of a restaurant, set back off the main street in the town centre. Highly recommend for nice treat out with family & friends, or perfect for a date night. 10/10

Completely Wonderful!! I booked a table at Nuovo for a birthday dinner in the evening and everything about this evening exceeded our expectations. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Our waiter was very friendly and happy to talk through the menu and specials and make recommendations on what we should order. The menu offers a vast variety of both classic and innovative Italian dishes, the portions are generous for a tapas restaurant and every thing we ordered tasted wonderful. Not one improvement could be asked for on the quality of the food served. And the ambience is wonderful. The atmosphere at Nuovo is the perfect balance between a fancy venue for special occasions whilst also being a welcoming and relaxed environment where anyone can feel comfortable I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for something a little different or a little special!

Came here as a Mother's day treat with my family. We really enjoyed it. The service was first class and so friendly. Food arrived quickly and was delicious! We absolutely loved it, we had three dishes each and it was plentiful, had a sharing dessert platter afterwards which was just right for 4 of us, other half had his own dessert as he didn't want to share 😂 Can't wait to visit again. Definitely recommend to anyone 👌

Excellent lunch… we asked the chef to choose a selection of dishes which were all delicious and very well presented. Even the old man was very hospitable!

Exceeded every expectation. Great atmosphere and concept. Wide selections of wine and cocktails, even some really tasty mocktails! Food was authentic Italian and really tasty. I really recommend the pan fried Sea Bass.

Overall a very very good meal….just a few elements to improve on to get 5 stars for us. Firstly the restaurant itself is beautiful, very well presented and nice atmosphere. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive and professional. The small dishes worked well for us, table of 4 and we order 2 dishes each with sides followed by a dessert. All the mains were well cooked and presented beautifully, however the prawns, mushroom pasta and bruschetta were a bit underwhelming. The prawns and pasta really needed some seasoning to bring out the flavour and the bruschetta served on a cracker style bread just wasn’t to our taste. All the meats however were perfect and I’d absolutely recommend the slow cooked beef…..best dish of the evening for me followed closely behind by the lamb. The Tiramisu is the best we have had anywhere so we’ll worth a try. Shame we can’t give decimal marks on Google reviews as it is at least 4.5 but not quite perfect.
