Nuha Tandoori Restaurant in Isle of Anglesey

Just got a takeaway, stale popadoms, not enough sauces, chicken tikka starter had stale salad. King prawn Rogan Josh had no taste whatsoever, rice, Nan and chips poor. Total waste of £35 .... will never use again ... ever !

Very bland, must be old food heated up or they just don't care anymore like the rest of us. If covid 19 came out of Wuhan then who knows what's coming out of Nuha. One star because it was warm at least

You can choose between all sorts of classic Indian dishes here, and they all taste fantastic. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the service is prompt and very friendly as well.

The Nuha Tandoori have excellent vegetarian and vegan options for those of you looking to minimise your carbon impact on the planet. The staff are lovely and the food is reasonably priced. Would recommend!

Does exactly what you need it to do. Not overly adventurous but the chicken korma, pilau rice and peshwari were all good. Not overly well signed - in fact we drove past it and had to walk back and ask for directions at the local Co op.

Really unhappy, took us an hour to get our food ordered bearing in mind there was only one other table with customers, and we had ordered no starters. With two little ones waiting well over an hour and a half to get food whilst they’re starving and exhausted is just appalling. Restaurant not kid friendly. The tables weren’t even cleared after other customers had left (4 tables). Tiny portions: 6 small pieces of chicken swimming around in a bowl of sauce for £8.95. Peshwari naan without almonds or raisins. Biryani served in small Ikea plastic bowl, what a joke! I would NOT recommend this place.

Nuha is a must visit for anyone who loves a curry. Friendly staff and laid back atmosphere. Madras was one of the best if not THE best I've experienced. A PLEASURE!

Have had two recent takeaways from Nuha Tandoori, food has been exceptional, well presented with prompt delivery and service. Very friendly, great customer service. We had a variety of dishes, piping hot food, selection of curries and starters, onion bhajis were lovely. Best Indian takeaway in Holyhead. Highly recommended.

Shocking service, just being there seemed like a massive inconvenience to the staff particularly the manager who seated us and took our order. The food was very generic and resembled nothing like what was offered on the menu. My Karahi was mild and had no other veg apart from onions which were undercooked, plus there was more grease than lamb. Ordered Butter Chicken for my daughters and they gave them chicken korma, probably thought they wouldn't notice. Plain pilau rice was fried and had every colour of the rainbow in it. On the plus side, the naan bread was nice. It only took 5 minutes for our food to arrive but this just tells me they have a few big pots out back and serve from these, rather than take a base sauce and cook fresh from this. To top everything off we weren't provided with any sort of cutlery and had to rely on the serving spoons. I've heard of BYO alcohol before but never BYO cutlery! Paying by card seemed like a big inconvenience too, they wanted cash and when I didn't have it the reaction I got was one of complete disappointment, I was then ushered out of my seat to the bar area to pay and made to feel like a very naughty boy. Great place if you want to feel unwelcome and want to play curry roulette, whereby you try something you didn't order and the only surprise is that a supermarket microwave meal would have been crafted with more love.

Had a takeaway tonight very disappointed. Chicken was old and dry ,my naan bread was limp, raw and rubbery. I asked specifically for keema flavoured rice and got some non descript white stuff . The veg in my Aloo Gobi was limp old and been frozen. Overall what a shocker . Will not return nor recommend to anyone.

I travel from Ireland to Manchester once a month and regularly stay over in Holyhead, ive now been twice to Nuhas and will definitely be coming back, being from Manchester i know a good curry , theres plenty of choice back home, Nuhas menu is full of good choices and interesting specials, they have a good selection of fish, and some tasty starters , the service and beers wine ect , were all top notch , ive also had my little girl with me , the staff were lovely with her, she also loved the food , Definitely worth a visit,

I visit Holyhead regularly for a photography project. I went here the first time visiting Holyhead and have retuned multiple times. Lovely people and good food. Worth a visit if in the area.

At end of the isle..trying to find a Indian food.. It's way off from Indian cuisine. Preparation was not perfect.. Tandoori was severed fried..

After a disappointing start to our evening at a previous restaurant, nuha saved the day for us considering it was new years eve! Very friendly service and lovely food, will definitely be back again in the new year.

Amazing food - highly recommend the naga curry. Service friendly(ish) and prompt. Family have been eating here for years and love it. We ate in the restaurant, but can also takeaway. Should take card payments!

Very gentle man at the front of house. Very welcoming. I had a naga chilli. If you like it hot let them know as mine wasnt a naga heat so they topped it up with heat! Very accommodating and nice people.

Ordered a takeaway for 4 of us, went to pick it up and were greeted by really friendly welcoming staff. Once home, the food looked, smelled and tasted delicious. Indian food doesn't get much better than this, and my friends agreed too. Massively recommended.

Very tasty, non oily curry. I eat in a lot of Indian restaurants all over Ireland and Britain. I'm always trying out new places. This is one of the better ones by far I've tried for a while. Highly recommend the Vegetable Madras and Sag Bhaji and Dall Tarka.

Can’t go wrong with this food for the price. They look after you too. Will definitely come back next time.

Garlic Naan was the best I've ever had. Very clean place with kind accommodating staff. Butter Chicken was nice and smooth. They have Cobra beer, if you have yet to try this Indian beer it is a most. My date very much enjoyed her vegatarian dish as well. If passing thru just 10 minute walk from the ferry and bus terminal.

Family of 4 went to Nuha in holyhead Saturday evening 30th November , such fab food ! We enjoyed beautiful onion bajees, chicken pakora and veg samosa for starters. For mains we had tikka masala, veg korma and butter chicken . Naan for sides too . Best Indian for a long time , service was great and a few pints of cobra too , great place to go, highly recommend!!!!

The host was so helpful with the menu and the food prices are very affordable. We had curry and naan bread it was delicious. We tried padduma it was so flaky and crisp. A good place to stop in town!! I will definitely return 10/10

This was a poor experience. The place looks drab. The service is uninspiring and the food bland. Sorry can't think of anything positive apart from its not expensive. The final straw was when we were encouraged to use the same utensils following our starter for the main. Yuk !

Being a ceoliac I went in and asked the host on the door if the restaurant catered for gluten free.... He looked bewildered and didn't seem to understand, I asked him again he stated do you want a menu.. Obviously he hadn't a clue what I was on about so I left couldn't risk it..

Visited Saturday night and was not disappointed. The service was exceptional along with the tasty fresh food,would definitely recommend.

Ordered takeaway for four of us when visiting nearby treaddur bay. Disappointed they would only take cash when we collected so had to go back out in he pouring rain to find a cash machine. The cartons were marked with "permenant" blue marker which came off on our hands and then fixed to anything else we touched (like the white kitchen units in our rental cottage!) Lamb Rogan Josh was very poor - bland and gristly meat, other mains were very oily. Samosas, kebabs, chicken tikka and nan bread were good.

we stayed overnight in Holyhead & ate here on the recommendation of our B & B, Holyhead Lodge ( very good ) food was very good & reasonably priced. At the end of the meal we decided to ask the waiter if he could ring a taxi for us, he came back & said that there were none available for 40 mins, so we decided to walk back, as we were leaving one of the waiters stopped us to ask where we were going & then offered to take us back in his car ! . Good meal & great service especially for us, Thanks very much really appreciated .

Went there a couple of months ago and I had shahjahan witch was very nice this time I tried a curry called machli palok again amazing. The service was good special mention to that young man who was really nice to talk to

The service was absolutely sh##. I think the guy had a fight with his wife or something and he was taking it out with the customers. Never go there again....

We were staying overnight at the Travelodge & this came up as one of the nearby restaurants. It was only a 10 minute walk from the hotel so we decided to give it a try.

Wonderful service, delicious food and a great place to watch the locals. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here of curry and chips, which we can't get at home in Australia. If you want lots of spiciness though, you will only get a maximum of a medium level of spice but I suppose that's just Wales in general. All in all, a fab feast.

Some interesting and unknown-to-me dishes. I had an Afghan dish which was excellent. Surprisingly, we were not able to pay using a debit card - cash only - and the receipt was hand-written using pencil on a scrap of paper.

The food was really good. Service was OK, not many smiles but prompt and honest. We will return on our next trip to Holyhead.

If you know how authentic food should look and taste like keep far way from this place! Personnel are very rude and do not take any critic. Amazed of the poor quality of this place and over amazed of the abbondance of positive reviews.

Having written a glowing review about Nuha in the past, I'm disappointed to now be so negative. We visited on Saturday night and were really unimpressed with the service received, not just by us but also by other people in the restaurant. The older gentleman who took our order was so distracted by other things happening in the restaurant, even turning his back on us to talk to someone else while we were ordering. A party of 5 arrived and he refused to accommodate them as there were no large tables available despite the fact there were several unoccupied smaller tables that could have been pushed together to make a larger table.

I rarely write negative reviews, as I know how much hard work goes into keeping a business like this going. But I do feel obliged to mention our experience last night.

Food was delicious, staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't have ended my first time visit in Holyhead any better.

We were in a party of 4 early on Saturday evening and booked this restaurant going on Trip Advisor reports which generally were OK. All 4 of us were very disappointed. The restaurant itself was faded and tired, more like a roadside cafe. I ordered the onion bhaji which were greasy, bright yellow and tasteless. My main course was Chicken Tikka Masala which again was completely tasteless and of a weird consistency and even my drink, which was Coke, was completely flat. When I complained about my drink the waiter replaced it, but the replacement was only slightly better.

We had a meal here and it was terrible - a party of 6 on a Sunday evening (we were the only ones in the place - a clue in there somewhere). Waiters grasp of English pretty poor and food was second rate. Everything tasted the same - very bland.

After reading all the reviews, we decided to try out a takeaway and was very disappointed. Missing half of the starters that cost £20 for 4 people and had no mango chutney or onions for the popadoms. The menu stated we got chicken and lamb tikka on the mixed tandoori starter, we had 8 pieces of lamb but only 1 and a-bit pieces of chicken, and given wings that had no meat on them. We rang to ask what could be done and was told to come back the following day to get the missing items, considering we paid for them, i requested a refund but just resulted in a rude argument on the phone for 15 minutes of which the food was going cold. Being in plastic containers we couldn’t even put in the oven to keep warm therefore had to microwave our tea and after paying £76 for the order, this was not acceptable. The curry was bland and just over spiced. Chicken tasted funny and not like chicken at all. I have yet to have a good curry on angelsey but this is by far the worst.

Visit here frequently, excellent service and delicious food. I would recommend the Dhansak - flavourful and quality ingredients used, especially the King Prawns which are always extremely fresh.

I ate at Nuha's tonight with my family. I had a delicious chicken tikka masala and naan bread with egg rice. Obviously good quality ingredients. All washed down with ice-cold cobra beer. Very attentive service- we were made to feel very welcome by staff. Thanks, Ali- we'll definitely be back again next time we're in Holyhead!

Visited this place last year and I the dish called nuha tikka massala it was very nice this time I tried a dish called Welsh lamb it was very tasty before that I had a stater called tandoori tiger king prawn it was very nice

Dirty plates and cutlery. Worst tasting curry we both had in our lives. Dicky stomach next day. Rude manager. Card machine not working! Cash only sales. Best avoided.

9 of us were booked in for a meal having read online reviews. We waited over 1/2 hour to have our order taken, while the waiter answered the phone and served up takeaway orders and well over an hour for the starters to arrive (despite only a couple of other tables being occupied). The waiter didn’t have much idea of how to take orders or serve/clear away.

Over an 1hr and 30 min to wait for our food no updates from staff. Seem more interested in take outs than customers sitting in.

On my way to Ireland I always visit this restaurant. Today I tried a curry called shajan it was amazing so on the back to London I will have same. The service is good and all the staff are very friendly

Myself and my partner have always used Nuha as our regular Indian we have never had any complaints the staff are usually really friendly and the food is reasonably priced...until today... On ordering drinks we ordered x2 Pepsi or Coke which ever was stocked, we where served cheap cheap COLA it looked like water and we where still charged full price for a bottle of cola that probably cost around 49p. We had around 5 chicken chunks in the korma which is disappointing because the portion sizes are usually great. For food we usually order every time we eat at the Indian tonight it costed nearly a hole £10 extra.

We ordered Chicken biryani , Afghani chicken curry and tandoori naan. Everything is delicious and reminds me of authentic Indian cuisine I tasted in India. Must visit if you're in holy head ;) The manager is very friendly too.

After a lovely first visit, we have had two further meals here, one a takeaway, the other eaten in the restaurant.

We ate here twice on our way out to Ireland and on the way back. We did not want pub food and came across the Nuha as we explored the town for food. It does not look anything special, but it is clean and friendly. However, the food popped my socks off.

Waiting on the 2:40 AM boat, I decided to pass some time and visited this restaurant. I went in at 10:00 PM I was met by a very unwelcoming waiter. He told me on three occasions within a space of ten mins that the restaurant closed at 10:30. I ordered my starter to learn it was not available. I chose a substitute & ordered a main course. Both were equally disappointing. I genuinely think that the “chicken”served in the main course was pork. Either way it was terrible. Payment by card was an issue but it was eventually accepted. Toilet facilities were at best,average with no hand towel or dryer in the gents- not even a sign of where a towel would normally hang. Bad experience, I won’t be making the same mistake again.

Read some pretty bad reviews but then thought I would give it a try as not much happening in this town.

Just called in on the off chance for a takeaway, staff friendly and helpful. Order food prompt out and also kids got a lollipop (small things do count) Food really good, will be back.

This restaurant serves good flavoursome Indian fare with a great selection of vegetarian meals I loved the vegetarian Korma. The waiter was quite stern not sure if it was a very dry humour when we ordered a dhal soup and a starter. Despite the gruff exterior we where professionally served. If I wanted Indian food in Holyhead I would come here again

We’d had a sight seeing weekend on Anglesey and decided on curry as our evening meal. Upon arrival we were shown to a table and left to choose our meals.

This is my 6th going there and the food was excellent. The service was very good will come back next time I visit holyhead

Tried this place a year ago when we moved to the area and thought it was overated. About time we gave it another chance. Chicken in the jalfezi was bone dry. Sauce was pure tomato puree/passata. The worst I've had in a long time. Naan bread very doughy/undercooked. Other dishes were just about ok. Poor customer service. Staffs attitude from initial order to collection indifferent at best. Won't be back a third time.

Having had a disappointing curry here earlier this year, we decided to give them another go, how wrong we're we. The curry ? Was totally devoid of any spices or indeed flavour, it was just pieces of chicken in a nondescript and not very pleasant sauce. The only enjoyable part of the meal was, the poppadoms and pickle tray which I assume we're bought in.

We were in Holyhead for the day and decided to call in to Nuha Tandoori for an Indian to takeaway. The food was very good and service we received from Andrew was fantastic. He made us feel most welcome, which is not always the case whilst waiting in a restaurant for your takeaway. We would highly recommend .

Food was okay, wasn’t the best. However, the service was our main issue, one of the staff members was very abrupt and intense. This same staff member refused to believe that our naan bread was cold, all the mains came out which were fine but when we felt each naan bread we realised they were very cold and not a nice temperature to eat. We asked this staff member to heat up the breads which he replied they wasn’t cold atall, he put his hand on 2 of the breads and said “no they are fine, don’t need heating up”. After arguing this, he decided to take them back to the kitchen. When finishing the meal, before everyone had finished this man decided to start clearing up all the plates without asking us had we finished!! When everyone was finished and the plates had been cleared, we didn’t ask for the bill and it just appeared on the table seconds later. The minute someone put the last note down on the plate to pay, the other waiter was waiting and took the plate straight after and began to count the money infront of us then shortly after started to hurry us out. Wouldn’t recommend here atall, would highly recommend sending these staff members on a customer service course!!!! Safe to say they didn’t get a tip.

Had a takeaway tonight from here. Food ok. However, find the food over priced and small portions. Two curries (half filled plastic cartons), two rices and two naans £24.... a little overpriced given the semi filled curry cartons. Also no free papadums as many other Indians offer ...

Stopped here after a trip to the cinema as there didn’t seem to be many other options in Holyhead. Service was excellent and our curries were delicious. Not the most luxurious environment but I would definitely return.

Ate here just after they opened a few years ago..had time to kill as was waiting on a ferry. Owner was very friendly and the food was really really great

Having had a beautiful meal 4 years ago, I looked forward to returning to the restaurant before departing to Ireland with my family. Sadly it was a very disappointing meal. The waiter was unfriendly and the meal was extremely expensive and I have to say not very nice! Due to this highly disappointing meal I will not consider returning in the future.

Great flavours and attentive staff. I’m a king prawn puri fan and this was the best. We found this Indian through trip advisor and thankfully ignored the negative comments.
