Named this now as my incentive to visit post- graduation. Decided! Lol. So hopefully they continue doing what they’ve been clearly doing well, to deserve their great reviews and word of mouth spreads and keeps this place in business for years to come. More independents the better, imo. Menu offerings changed since last visit and was faced to try something new. That’s a positive as everything they dish out is pleasing to the eye, tastebuds and belly. Mmmmmmm!

We have visited Noya’s Kitchen on previous occasions and the food was far superior in the past, hence our disappointment. We sat in the basement room and there was an extremely noisy group sitting next to us. It was unbearable and we ate our food as quickly as possible so that we could leave the restaurant. We could not talk above the screeching. The waitress was aware of this but didn’t know what to say or do.

My sister and I stumbled on Noya's for lunch before a visit to Thermae Bath. Don't bother with the latter, but do go to Noya's. We didn't have a reservation and my sister was in a wheelchair. She could manage the steps in and they couldn't have been more kind or accommodating. We shared the prawn roll and sweetcorn fritter starters and had our own mains. It was all absolutely delicious and was a highlight of our afternoon in Bath.

The food was ok, we ordered the pulled pork and 3 beef phos on a table of 4. The pulled pork was great with a very generous portion of pork. Besides that the rest was not great. The Pho tasted like beef stock, it had no flavour, not enough fragrant herbs in the dish, it compared to a oxo cube. The drinks were lacking, there could have been more choice for cocktails, only a few sweetened gin and tonics. The atmosphere was ok, once people had left and it was quieter, there was no background music (if there was I couldn’t hear it) it all felt a bit average. The staff were very friendly and could not be faulted. We have been to Vietnam and eaten at a well known chain restaurant called pho and the food here is not comparable. It’s a shame as this is meant to be a well regarded independent business.

Do they put curry candles on in here? After many good recommendations I was all up for trying this place out and the local Chinese could have delivered better.... Having entered to the smell of a fragrant curry I decided to have the chicken curry, my friend had the tofu Pho neither were particularly exciting or flavoursome couldn't figure out how the room smelled so fragrant with such bland tasting food...

Really disappointed with the food I had here. The summer rolls were chewy and I had the tofu pho . I couldn't finish the pho it just tasted purely of soy sauce and tofu was just as bad no texture just soy sauce taste. The worst pho I've ever had . A few bits of pak choy floating in it and that was it . Sad to say that it was so bad as the atmosphere, staff etc was nice.

Our friends have been telling us what a great place this is, and not being a fan of the proliferation of pan-Asian chains and noodle bars in the city, I only want to try independent specialist restaurants. We were lucky and managed to book for Noya’s Friday night Supper Club, so we were delighted to get the opportunity to taste Vietnamese cuisine cooked by a Vietnamese lady. We were also intrigued by the idea of a supper club and how that might differ from just turning up for an evening meal. We arrived at 7pm and joined a short queue of fellow diners entering the restaurant and being shown to the tables. They had laid up the tables according to the size of each party, and we had a table tucked away in a cosy corner of the restaurant. The dining area is obviously what had once been the main part of a Georgian residence, with elegant proportions and a strong decorative theme given a little twist with large whicker light shades and contemporary music playing quietly in the background. There are pictures of Noya and her family on the walls. Noya herself is a wonderfully enthusiastic TV sensation waiting to happen. She introduced herself to each table and then told the whole room about her set menu for the evening. We were told both by Noya and her waiting staff to expect big portions and that they would provide takeaway packs for anything we couldn’t finish. I’m glad to say we ate it all with relish, even though the portions are generous, because the food was so delicious! The food IS amazing! The only other Vietnamese meal I have had was at a rather indifferent restaurant in Hamburg, but these dishes were a taste sensation and so accurately prepared and presented that we left the restaurant thorough sated but not suffering from feeling overstuffed or in distress! The tastes are subtle and amazing and lovely and spicy. I would wholeheartedly recommend Noya’s Kitchen!

I’ve been to Noyas several times over the years and it’s always been fantastic. This visit was no exception. Spare ribs, summer rolls, and the dish that I’d call crispy fried pork gyozas (but had a different name I think) for starters were all great. We were a group of three sharing and asked whether we could increase by 50% two of the three starters so we’d get enough bits to share in each dish (divisible by three!) without having to chop things up. No problem! Mains were great too - and for three men with hearty appetites we weren’t left feeling hungry. (Although perhaps that might have been down to us super-sizing our starters!) I had the chicken curry. Tender chicken, big pieces, full of flavour! How about a sharing platter as an option for a starter, for two people min at say £12 per head? I’d go for that! Keep up the good work!!

The menu is limited but the dishes plentiful and very tasty with lots of complexity in spices and texture. Everything was fresh and well presented. We shared the fresh spring rolls which ranked among the best we have eaten. My wife had the vegetable Pho and loved it. I had the chicken skewers and noodles. Both dishes were outstanding. I've long been told of the wonders of Noya's Kitchen and to quote Han Solo, "It's all true!" I've had two meals there in the last month and been won over by the fresh ingredients, generous portions, focused menu (a few things done well, rather than a sprawling choice) and welcoming staff. Kicking off a meal with prawn summer roll - with big, fat prawns bulging against the semi translucent skin - is a must. From there, it's all good, but the chicken curry really hits the spot. It's not too spicy, there's heaps of chicken and hearty glob of rice to suck up the sauce. I'm less of a 'broth guy' and my palate is too weedy for anything with more kick, so the other options don't quite do it for me, though my lunch guests both loved their noodles, which are both brothy and have more kick. The fact that this restaurant is always packed at lunchtime speaks to its quality - so maybe consider booking.

After booking, I was contacted to check for allergies / dietary requirements. The evening began punctually. It’s a small venue and Noya introduced herself to each table, incorporating details which showed she’d read diners’ responses about their dietary needs into her conversation. She then introduced the night’s menu with verve and detail. Every course was tasty and well-presented. The revelation for me was the rice porridge (chao?). I’d never ordered it because it sounds bland but this dish was crammed with complementary flavours and textures. The service was cheerful and attentive - my jasmine tea was constantly topped up - without asking. A memorable evening.
