North Sea Fish in Camden

The younger blonde female waitress was very rude and treated the next table the same way. While paying the bill, he asked for a tip, but I did not give it due to his rudeness. He threw the receipt on the table and left. I've been in London for 6 days and it's the only place I don't tip. I don't understand how it got so many stars with these employees. I looked at its score on Google and went. The food is not bad, the portion is not bad. I think any place would be more suitable if its score was in the 2-3 band. I do not recommend.

An excellent place to eat fish n' chips. We make it for you, to order, with the fish you choose: cod, salmon, haddock.... The choice of beers is very wide, the whiskeys are all excellent. It's a little more expensive than fish n' chips in a pub but it's also much better.

Food was amazing. Ordered the whole grilled sea bass, truly exceptional. Highly recommended. Stuff were welcoming and provided great service.

We had dinner as a family a few days ago and we loved the experience. Quality fish, fresh and well cooked, delicious sauces and unlimited homemade potatoes. The portions are generous and everything was delicious. Good price, for London. The waiters were very friendly, especially one from Alicante who told us that he has been in those lands for 20 years and helped us choose. Thanks for everything!!

Expensive for what you get bad bad chips taste like powder so dry, and the fish taste like soap no taste and a tiny potion disappointed!! Would not recommend unfortunately ..

Daisy has treated us extraordinarily, the food is spectacular. I recommend the soup and GARLIC PRAWNS as a starter, HADDOCK - JUMBO and accompany them with an additional COLESLAW. All highly recommended. My best meal on my visit to London

Amazing Fish and Chips- the service was outstanding and it was clearly a favorite of the locals. Portions were very generous!

This fish and chip shop is located near King Cross. The location is also in short supply on weekday evenings. The fries are very delicious, and they are potato nugget style. The fried fish is very fresh. The crispy skin is paired with the soft and tender fish meat. It has a rich and filling texture. Serving lemon juice has a soothing effect, and the serving speed is a little slower.

If I could give 0 stars I would happily do so. Trust me, I'm not very picky about food, but this is officially the worst food I've ever eaten in my life!! Service: A wait of over an hour and people arriving after us were served before us Cuisine: Disgusting, no taste, only breading on the “FISH” (which is not). Soft texture, tasteless chips, in short to avoid…. Bonus point: the waiter, slipping us 2/3 French words, explains to us that we have to pay 10% tips. Take great care of yourselves, friends. As I write this, my stomach hurts.

We went here twice during our stay in London. We had grilled Dover Sole and grilled Halibut the first time and then two fried skate in batter the second time. All were frankly magnificent. Served with home cut fries. I can not remember ever having had a better fried fish. The Dover sole was, according to my wife, the best she had ever had (and we live in Portugal where there is no shortage of good fish!) The restaurant gets daily delivery from Billingsgate so freshness is guaranteed.

Lovely little fish and chips place with a counter and table service restaurant next door. Staff was really friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my wife’s food allergy. We had the fried Brie appetizer and cod. Everything was excellent. We will definitely be back!

The restaurant is 10 min walking distance from Kings Cross station. We dine in yesterday evening. Turned up without reservation. There was lovely Bulgarian lady that went out of her way to accommodate us even if it was extremely busy! She offer us drinks and chairs to sit while we were waiting. It took quite long to get the food, once we ordered. The portions are average. Same lady served us and she suggested Lemon sole grilled. We are happy we took the suggestion! The fish was just perfectly cooked. The service marvellous! How nice the waitress offer us to debone the fish for us! The wine is acceptable price too. The tables are small and sticky. And was so full and crowded. I would suggest to make a reservation if you want to get a better table and make sure there are no events at the same time!!! Was extremely lauded!!!!!!

Amongst the best 'chippies' in London. Wide choice of fish; excellent chips and side orders. Notable and generous tartar sauce. Not cheap but for London good value. Well worth visiting as part of a trip to London.

Expérience mitigée dû au service, mais vraiment l.un des des meilleurs fish and chips de Londres ! Petite carte de bons produits. La queue tous le temps pour y manger, c'est non signe ! Par contre, peut-être que nous n'avons pas eu de chance ce jour là mais les serveurs étaient dans le jus complet, ils nous ont oubliés à plusieurs reprises, oublié mon plat et fait des erreurs de commande... On s'est fait cermoner par le serveur parce que nous avions pris une carafe d'eau.. ça a gâché notre plaisir et la qualité des plats.

We had a family dinner and this restaurant and we all enjoyed our meals. Cod for the kids and rock salmon for the adults. Having only eaten cod in fish and chips we thought it was nice to see other fish and try them.

Wir sind spontan zum North Sea Fish Restaurant gekommen und haben auch ohne Reservierung noch einen freien Tisch ergattert. Das Essen war super lecker. Das Fischfilet war butterweich und der Bierteig schön knusprig. Die Chips gibt es als "Flatrate", so viel wie man möchte. Wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient und haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Klare Empfehlung für leckere Fish&Chips in London!

Went on Saturday and had one of the best takeaways in a long while, great value for money for what I had and easily a plentiful amount of food freshly cooked (I had to wait a few minutes but it was well worth the wait) You can tell a good place to go to by the interaction between customers and staff, they have that good friendly customer focused manner about them(When they remember when you were last in and ask how your day has been can make a difference sometimes) and there was a healthy queue of people there waiting. I used an app (Togoodtogo) to order some food from them tonight and when I got there they'd nothing left so they canceled the order, but they still gave me two huge boxes of chips and an assortment of sauces to takeaway which they didn't have to do and I didn't get charged for, to me that says a lot and while I'm in the area I was definitely better going back.

Excellent fish and chips lovely homemade tartar sauce. Ketchup. Even get refill basket of chips for sharing, nice evening with pint of beer and glass of wine. Unfortunately our evening was spoiled when my husband paid bill and asked for service charge to be removed, gentleman serving us who had been pleasant turned unpleasant and unfriendly not even a goodbye from him. We had so looked forward to our visit had been a few years before.

Popped in here for a take away fish dinner. The man running the shop was friendly, polite and outgoing. He really made you feel like he appreciated your business. The food was fantastic, the portions huge. Very close to the St. Pancras station. All in all, a great find.

This was my third visit to the North Sea. The food is delicious and the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. Having bottomless chips is a nice touch even though it’s difficult to finish one portion due to the generous sizes! One thing to note is that I have had issues in the past with table bookings not going through correctly. However, the staff were still very accommodating and made a space for us.

ATTENTION !!! Vous ne serez pas traité de la même manière en fonction de vos origines et de votre statut familiale. Les typés et les enfants ne sont pas les bienvenus... par contre si vous êtes bien blanc et d'apparence riche c'est jackpot ! La patronne fait clairement une distinction en fonction des origines, j'en ai été victime et je l'ai clairement observé sur la différence de traitement entre les personnes du restaurant. Donc si vous êtes asiatiques, noirs ou un peu typé réfléchissez s'y à deux fois avant d'y aller. La discrimination ne vaut vraiment pas le fish and chips qui n'était d'ailleurs pas exceptionnel. Tout ça pour ça... Autre chose, les toilettes étaient vraiment sales, la porte collante... bref sans parler que le restaurant est très mal indiqué et situé, mais vu l’accueil c'est vraiment pas grave si vous le loupez.

Très bon restaurant que nous avons choisi par rapport aux avis Google . Pas du tout déçu . Les plats sont généreux et délicieux. Garder de la place pour le dessert le crumble est a tomber ( une bière , une eau gazeuse , deux entrées , deux plats , deux desserts et deux menus enfants pour 115£) . Merci à aux serveurs et aux patron pour leur accueil chaleureux .

I usually write reviews for good restaurants, but I had to write this review to help others who might be considering this place. Booked for 7 people. Worst service experience ever! Server was very slow with excuses, manager was upset for not ordering desserts. Fish were not properly cooked. Beer tasted nothing. Definitely overpriced based on their quality of food and service. Chips were too oily, fish tasted nothing. This is just for quick tourists near Kings Cross. Trying not to think this, but seems racial discrimination that I witnessed totally different attitutes from the manager based on customers' race. Refused to offer the cardholder's receipt because the manager forgot to replace the roll and does not know how to reprint it. She literally yelled and forced me to take a pic of her copy if I need it. Stay away from this place. There are definitely better places for foods, beer and service.

Tellement bon que nous y sommes retourné

Surely in todays economic climate, the hospitality industry are razor sharp. I waited an hour for my meal, maybe because I was a solo diner but, fish and chips!! When I complained I was offered a beer FOC, I declined this initially however as my meal was not on the table 15 mins later I accepted a free beer. When this arrived it was a lager and not an ale which is what I was drinking initially. A poor and unnecessary experience.

I loved their cod in their take-away (240 or 450g). That's why I tried their restaurant. A real pleasure. The quality of their breaded fish is excellent, ie cod and haddock. The breading is very fine and the fish very fresh. The service is attentive, impeccable, the setting pleasant, as you would expect from a fish restaurant. On the other hand, the starter was a little meager, which is why I only gave it 4 stars.

What a fantastic fish and chips shop. Chips (or fries to us Americans) were literal perfection. Fish was fluffy and the house lager was top shelf. The fish tank in the back was empty...which is likely best as the fish shouldn't watch us eat their cousins....

The restaurant was empty when I arrived for an early dinner at 5:30pm, but then it started rapidly filling up, so I quickly ordered classic cod and chips. I was expecting a quality experience from this restaurant, but it fell slightly short for me. The cod was fairly small, but I didn't mind because I was not massively hungry. The chips were OK but not great, slightly dry outside and powdery inside. I'm wondering if I had an atypical experience and would happily give the restaurant another go.

Cozy atmosphere, friendly and welcoming service, and outstanding food. The prices are quite reasonable for central London and become even more reasonable if you get takeaway. If you're going for a sit-down dinner, it's best to reserve a table early as they seem to book up quickly.

We ordered the halibut, which was described as having more flavor than the cod. Fish was flavorless, overcooked, and oil tasting, with many small bones. Extremely slow service, particularly when time to pay the bill -- a well-run, busy restaurant would move more quickly to turn over tables, but this place didn't seem to care to get paid. We had to flag three separate people down to get the reader out so we could leave. This was our third fish & chips in a week in London, and was by far the worst. You can do better elsewhere in town.

We chose this restaurant based on the reviews and because it was close to the hotel, we had dinner and it was a great experience. David served us and gave us great advice, 10/10 service.

As a deaf, I tend to find public places a bit daunting as my voice isn’t that great. I am often too loud or too quiet, or not clear enough so I prefer to be a mute. However, this place has been kind, considerate and really friendly. They treated me like a normal person and got some banging food for my cheat days. I’m looking forward to my next takeaway here and this place is definitely a strong rival to the poppies in Camden (both in the top place). Thanks.

Popped in for some Cod and Chips to takeaway. Have to say it was probably one of the best I've had in a while. Fantastic value for London area, £11.50 for cod and chips. Very good service when I picked it up after ordering online and food was piping hot and fresh. Definitely will be back :-)

Absolutely Fantastic! The food is incredibly fresh, great portions and very reasonable, but the staff are what really makes this place. So friendly and fun. We had a great night, thank you! I live around the corner and regularly get take away but this was the first time we ate in. We had visitors from Italy who wanted to try British fish and chips and this is the best in London. There are so few restaurants left like this, definitely the best in Kings Cross! Super dog friendly too!

Back in 2017/18 I used visit this place every Friday with friends..... and even today I still crave their fiah and chips. Never have I ever had such amazing fish and chips. Just perfect.....I highly recommend it....!!!!!!!!!

Will start to say the service was great and also the starters were delicious, the bread and the butter specifically. I didn't enjoy the food for 2 reasons, it's too expensive for what it was and the fried fish tastes all the same due to the oil. It was not very tasty at all and made us all be all day having a funny stomach and pain in the belly for a day. Great waitresses and super polite. Service was fast, but food quality definitely can be improved.
