Absolutely stunning food ordered a medium haddock which was cooked to perfection with sweet flakes of white meat. Also had a home made fish cake which was equally as exceptional full of white fish. Can’t fault it .

Amazing fish and chips, top quality, would highly recommend. The 4 star service is because I wasn't offered a bag to carry my 2 portions of fish chips and gravy, therefore it was awkward balancing the gravy on the boxes while walking back to the car. Felt like a carrier of some description should at least be offered.

The best fish and chip shop around. Having used Yorkshire for our family trips for the last 10 years I can safely say this is and always has been the best fish and chips we have had. We ordered for 10, everything was cooked fresh there and then and we didn’t wait long at all. The batter is very thin and the quality of the fish is high!

Sadly the food is not as good as last year. We visited scarborough last year & stayed 5 mins walk. Food was fantastic then. This year we stayed the other side of town & drove over but did not enjoy the food. Not saying theres anything wrong with the food, just didnt enjoy it.

It's been a long time since i've had great F&C and proper mushy peas. Cooked in beef dripping you can't get better. I could taste everything. 10 out or 10, this place is first class and well worth the money, keep up the good work. The people waiting outside says it all

Went here on a Friday lunchtime having read the reviews. I certainly wasn't left disappointed. I've been fortunate with my job covering North Yorkshire to sample so many Fish&Chips eateries in the county. Scarborough for me has some of the best, and I would put this right up there.

Was recommended here by a fellow fish and chip fiend and it didn’t disappoint. One of the best haddock and chips I’ve had in ages. Everything seemed cooked to order, chips were cooked in dripping, crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, haddock was probably the best I’ve eaten. Batter was light and crunchy and the fish was flakey, white and absolutely beautiful, peas were home made and not tinned processed slop you’d get elsewhere. I can’t wait to return.

Hands down the BEST fish and chips on Scarborough. We were lucky enough to stay around the corner from this gem. It always had a queue outside and for good reason! The small fish was a decent size compared to smalls from other chippies. Will definitely visit again.

Visiting Family in Scarborough for the first time they told us how great the fish and chips are here... North Bay didn't disappoint. Forever being underwhelmed by our southern chippies, helped us appreciate how magnificent these fish and chips were, wonderful texture with a fab taste.... looking forward to our next visit. We were recommended to get there before the doors open and we were glad we did, as the queue soon started to form.

Called in here as we were around Peasholm park and ready for something to eat. We were met by pleasant and efficient staff in a clean environment, our food was ordered and served within minutes. It was piping hot and delicious, we would definitely recommend this chippy.

It is the best place for fish and chips in north Yorkshire.

Great local fish and chip shop. Massive queue outside the door which means it is serving freshly prepared food all the time! Good system of paying first and given a ticket for order. Didn’t wait more than 15 mins. Big fish (and we had the medium haddock) nice crispy batter and it served batter bits! My husband was in heaven!

Forget the rest this is Just simply the best.

Very poor this year gone downhill we got fish and chips 5 times. Greasy different fat used won’t be back awful this was such a brilliant chippy too last year even!

Great fish and chips, the standard portion was enough for two to share, unless you have a huge appetite. We've had take away from here several times over the last few years, when we have stayed at The Sands apartments, a 5 min walk away. The food is always fresh, hot and the batter crispy. Like everything, prices have risen, but that is inevitable in order to continue to provide a high quality product.

Dropped the wife off at North Bay Fisheries while I turned the car round. I wasn't waiting long, even though the shop was busy. Got back to our cottage and got stuck in 👍😋

Always 1st class food & service. Only visit Scarborough once per year but this is the only fish & chip venue i would ever use. Pricey but only in comparison to all the others.

Fab fish and chips, really good value. Only thing I would say is don't stand in the queue, your order is taken at the counter then you stand in the queue.

Excellent haddock and chips, fresh to order. Battered sausage was standard but still good with great batter and freshly cooked. Nice curry sauce, but thought the mushy peas were a little salty. A generous helping of scraps (for free) if you want them.

Resident of scarborough and been fairly regularly to north bay fisheries. They were always excellent. But today, first of all price hike to: £21 for fish and chips twice, food not cooked enough, took it home to air fry.

So well organised great staff and fantastic fish n chips loved it thanks guys

Beautiful fish and chips (Haddock) very busy almost didn't get anything they had run out of cod but didn't matter I wanted Haddock. Sold out of both Cod and Haddock by the time I got my order, that's excellent selling out so all fresh again the day after. Always has a queue of people but service is quick.

Top quality fish n chips We had the cod and it was lightly battrered and nice n crispy. Chips were great and good portion size Highly recommended

Superb! Excellent batter crispy the fish was excellent flakes of haddock full of flavour. Chips not soggy cooked perfectly. As good as it gets. No question the best there is compared to the general poor quality that is served in most places in Scarborough and York. 5 stars to North Bay Fisheries!

Not really a fish and chips person so was disappointed they didn't have the full menu (no scampi) available. Fish and chips seemed fine, if that's your thing. Again, not an expert. Gave me a battered sausage when I ordered non battered but did refund when I pointed this out. There was also considerable queue when I went. And it felt pricy to me. A little over £10 per person. All this may well be quite usual for fish and chips. Certainly wished I'd ordered small fish all round as no one finished theirs. Top tip: don't just join the queue. You order your food then join the queue. Thankfully, someone pointed that out as there's no signage to that effect.

Wonderful! Very good large portion sizes, good value and very tasty! Well worth a visit, definitely recommend.

Just bought from here fish and chips and 2 regular fish however only got one regular fish. You took the cash but i didn't get what I'd paid for.

Cracking fish and chips. 100% recommend. Really busy. They take your order and cook everything fresh and they offer scraps, beaut!! Opening hours are 4.30pm - 7.30pm.

A first visit for us and probably a last. We walked in, placed our order and paid, then queued up to wait for it to be cooked. Fish and chips should be hot and crispy, these were slightly soggy and had a pool of grease underneath, we wouldn’t be back

The popularity of this place (by locals and tourists alike!) shows just how great a chippy this place is. Fresh cooked to order, the fish is soft and flaky and the batter cooked to perfection!

If 20 people queuing outside in the rain doesn’t make you realise this is a great chippy, nothing will! Great fish and chips, huge portions so beware. Well worth the queue.

I really look forward to my F&C and normally North Bay Fisheries are 5/5 however tonight the fish was very overcooked and dry. Certainly not up to normal standards. I was pretty concerned about staff dipping into the chips to test if they were cooked...

Bought two haddock and chips from here last Wednesday, cooked to order, probably the best we've had in a long time. Sat in the car at the sea front with them. Delicious.

Once lauded as the best in town, I think the crown may be slipping somewhat. Very, very busy. Join a queue to order and pay, then join another queue to collect. Took over an hour.

Excellent fish and chips, but make sure you arrive there well before closing time, as they soon sell out. They are renowned in Scarborough and have a very high well-deserved reputation.

Amazing fish and chips and even though we got given a curry sauce rather than gravy it was still delicious and my daughter decided she likes curry sauce so it turned out ok.

The chips were nice but nothing special and the portions really were very small. Not good value for money.
