Nonna's Kitchen in East Dunbartonshire

Had the calamari and minestrone to start followed by calabrese pizza, seafood risotto and lasagna as mains. All were pretty good. The pizza had a really spicy chorizo topping which I don't think was stated on the menu but not a big deal. I've given 4 out of 5 and I will give my reason why not the extra star. The menu online doesn't reflect the menu in house, some items were missing in house and the prices are different. The online menu should be updated. The drinks menu also didn't reflect what was on offer, no non alcoholic beers were available which was disappointing for drivers. The lighting at tables could be improved.

Ordered a large takeaway order specifically said the time I wanted delivered at . Then confirmed on actual day the time food was to be delivered at. Food got delivered 20 mins early most of the family hadnt arrived when food was delivered. End result was guests had cold food. When I called to complain all they can say is sorry !!!!!!

Great food, the pizzas are spectacular and the old school hip-hop vibe is super cool. But it’s the service that goes above and beyond and makes the place so welcoming and fun. Kerry especially was a superstar. 11/10!!!

After one of our party told the staff that she was lactose intolerant and needed a pizza without cow's milk cheese, she was served a pizza with mozzarella anyway. She only realised the kitchen's mistake after eating a slice. By way of apology, we were offered free desserts. We didn't particularly want dessert at that point, but we decided to have it anyway, seeing as it was free. However, when it came to the bill, we were then told that they were only going to comp the dessert of the person who had been given the dangerous pizza. The waiter rudely insisted she hadn't said what everyone in the party had very clearly heard, and said that everyone else was on the hook to pay for dessert that they hadn't even wanted. This ended with a stand-up argument at the end of a meal where we were meant to be celebrating my mother in law's birthday. If you have any kind of dietary requirement, I can only recommend you avoid this restaurant, as they clearly can't be bothered to treat you with the care and attention you need. Even if you don't, I wouldn't bother anyway: the pizzas are sloppy, overloaded and soggy.

Ordered takeaway tonight. Disappointing! Chicken Milanese with spaghetti Asked for extra sauce and called to confirm. Past had hardly any sauce and was tasteless. Description states rocket and Parmesan salad …..this was not in the order. Very disappointing!

first time visiting here. I drove 24 miles to get there but I wasn't disappointed. I had the Gamberetti Picantti for starters really tasty but for my taste, I'd prefer some chilies then I had the rib-eye steak the steak was cooked to perfection couldn't fault this restaurant, but maybe I would choose a better time of the day as there was a kids birthday party on ( happy birthday BTW ), I'm not sure if I will visit again unless I was in the area but no problem recommending here, book before you visit

I drove 24 miles just to try Donna's kitchen. I wasn't disappointed. The gambarini picanti was lovely. I would prefer it with chillies, though, but that's my personal taste, but it was still delicious. Then I had the ribeye steak, and it was cooked to perfection. I would return if I was in the area or close by recommend booking in advance

Usually I really enjoy a Nonnas, but this was poor. Pizza arrived stone cold not a bit of heat in it, desserts were forgotten in delivery, long wait time. Desserts were lovely when they did arrive, Staff were lovely when we called, I don't think the food really travels well in a delivery setting.

Fabulous place for a quick birthday dinner this evening. Top quality food, superb staff and a lovely environment.

Came last night with my son and dad. Staff were fantastic as usual. The manager in particular always makes you feel welcome (sorry I don't know his name). We chose the market menu for a change. Fantastic value for money, I think it was £15 for two courses. Between us we had the croquettes, the mushroom and Italian sausage on sourdough, the beef and the chicken wrapped in Parma ham. It was all fantastic. Been coming to nonnas since it opened over ten years ago and it still feels like a treat every time. Thanks guys!

Had a lovely birthday dinner with family. Everything delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Did a great job, even though it was a busy night. Thanks to all.

Nonna's Kitchen is amazing!! The food is delicious and the staff are very attentive without being overbearing. I would definitely recommend Nonna's and I will certainly be back soon too!!

Had nice anti pasti to start to share. Was a good amount! Steak was surprisingly good for a non-just steak place! Really enjoyed it with the merlot. The ravioli was also tasty! The lasagna had a lot of cheese and seemed like a small portion. Will come back for the good looking pizza’s!

Top notch for a restaurant mid Xmas New year, 5 well happy customers. We will be back.

First time dining here...very festive inside. Lots of staff around but not overly attentive which can be off-putting. Service quick food is lovely.. especially the carbonara 👍will be back very soon

The food and service were excellent. The only complaint was that two kids were allowed to play on their tablet up very loudly by their parents while guests were having their meal.

Food was Disappointing Manager was helpful bit of a shame as I was truly looking forward to it but I couldn't eat my main meal and my wife's Risotto was a completely bland and my son's pizza was limp and not very warm so can't recommend altho in fairness the Manager refunded my meal and didn't charge for our coffee but I'm afraid I still couldn't recommend it to anyone who truly enjoys Italian food

First of all I love Nonna's Kitchen. We had not booked but was told we could have a table within half an hour. It was twenty minutes by I ended up having to go and get two menus as no one was serving us. I then had to go and ask if we could order food. It was very busy but there was people getting served before us. Its just not right. I can't fault the food as it was amazing as always just abit short staffed I think.

Restricted to the outside patio area is NOT a dog friendly cafe. This seems to be norm for Kirkintilloch cafes.

Ordered an online home delivery earlier this evening after trying to order by phone but after giving my details and part of my order the call was disconnected and after trying to recall the line was constantly engaged. The delivery was timed for 18.40 which was put back to 19.00 which for a Saturday was acceptable After several phone calls the order finally arrived at 19.50 minus the pizza which to me was unacceptable and accordingly I returned the order. I telephoned the restaurant to advise them that the order had been returned as it was incomplete and they said they could have it cooked and out to me in 20 mins !! We live 15 mins from the restaurant so I assume it was going in the microwave to be reheated We are regulars in the restaurant and this is not acceptable

Ordered a takeaway tonight from Nonnas , Anyone looking at this photo would struggle to identify this as a chicken burger. Don’t the staff look at what they’re sending out and ask if they would be happy to accept that.

Breakfast was delicious especially my eggs Benedict, staff were very nice and attentive. Nice and relaxing Sunday breakfast.

Food was absolutely brilliant, some overpriced, staff friendly, service very slow last two times we were in, would've saved loads of money had I gone to the kirky puffer and service would've been quicker, but I know now for next time.

Second visit and sadly we had to send another meal back, on our first visit my wife’s steak was virtually raw, this time my calzone was cold in the middle. The staff sorted the problem quickly but honestly I give up and won’t be back.

My experience of Italian food stretches no further than pizza or bolognese. Today my friend took me to Nonnas. I had the rigatoni filetto. It was fantastic. I am now a convert, and will definitely be back

In past 3 times I tried them everytime the Pizzas were burnt. Also ordered the Pene with steak fillets, all I can tell is those meat bits were not fillet nor steak.

Went 2night with my friend for some tea ...food was lovely .staff were so nice & polite . We got a bottle of basic white wine £23 bottle ...then i decided to buy my friend a large glass of house white wine £9 ,,, what a shock ..overalll a good tea but far 2 expensive for a small place like kirkintilloch x

Great local Italian restaurant. Good was first class - worth checking out the desserts too! The place has a lovely atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable. Thoroughly recommend Nonna's.

Poor show. I didn’t think it possible to cut the chicken breast so thin. It would have been thicker had they served a photograph.

So disappointed book this restaurant for my mums birthday we all decided to have the fillet steak pasta. Not in a million years was this fillet steak. Complained twice and got the standard oh I am sorry. Had also taken candles to put on a dessert which I asked for twice but never got it but was added to the bill needless to say I was furious by this point.Certainly will not be back. Avoid at all cost.

Fantastic delicious meal tonight. A bit noisy due to a large party of people competing with a great singer but we couldn't really hear the singer. Mentioned this to a waitress who said it was the noise of people enjoying themselves. Understand that but we were trying to enjoy ourselves and couldn't even hear each other. Not the waitresses fault but it is a restaurant not a pub. However, our server Milly was a true delight. Lovely girl, efficient, polite, loveliest smile and attitude.. Non intrusive service, just what we want. All the waitresses were efficient and very busy all polite. I think milly has the gift of reading her clientele well and can meet their needs quickly by recognising who wants some space as well as those who want additional service. You made our night milly thank you.

Takeaway food. The lasagne delicious but the so called hand cut chips were awful and defo not hand cut.

Nonna's is a modern, family friendly bar and restaurant in kirkintilloch town. I went for dinner with my family and a young child whilst visiting Glasgow. The staff were very helpful and friendly, we were seated straight away, asked if we need a high chair for the child and he was given crayons and paper. The food was very good and generous portions, I had the rib eye steak which was excellent and my family had a calzone and spaghetti carbonara both were enjoyed and all plates were cleaned. The kids menu was good with a main and dessert. Overall very nice experience.

Nonna's has not failed me yet. Great veggie selection. The kid's menu is good and brilliant value for money. Staff are also unfailingly smiley and friendly and attentive. Prices are average. Not cheap, not overly expensive compared to similar restaurants.

The food is normally good in Nonna's kitchen. It was not this time . Too much salt in my dish . The service is normally hit or a miss . This time it was a miss . Won't be back again 😭

Sat outside in sun next to canal as we had dog with us , brought water out for dog . Food very good . As usual for Italian slight more expensive but still worth it. Did not go inside but was told quite good size and busy. Would certainly go back

I ordered a takeaway from nonnas and it was to come at 4.55. At 5.35 I called and they advised me the driver had come to my address and tried and person said not ordered. No one came to my door. They also said they phoned. There was no phone call. The person I spoke to was trying to blame me for them having wrong information but they didn’t. Their driver obviously went to wrong address. The man on the phone was not helpful at all and was taking no responsibility for their mistake and didn’t apologise at all. Will never use this place again. Terrible terrible service

Very disappointed. Bathroom was disgusting and the smell put me off eating before I even ordered food. Was in two minds to leave, but decided to give food a try. I ordered the seafood risotto. I didn’t eat it as the king prawns were transparent, the mussels smelled off and the risotto was slimy. Most of the mussel shells were empty as were the clam shells. I’ve never written a review, but I was appalled. To top it off, the person who took our glasses called my husband darling! Definitely won’t be returning.

Sat outside having arrived by bike. Very enjoyable minestrone soup and cappuccino with excellent service.

I went in early lunchtime for a light lunch for myself and a kids meal for my 6yo. I had avocado salad with hot prawn skewers, which was lovely and good for my gluten-free situation. The kids' meal was 2 full-size, good quality grilled sausages, lots of skinny fries, with baked beans and ketchup cleverly placed in little pots to keep them separate. A small chocolate ice cream with sauce and a chocolate wafer followed, and there was an option to have a brownie instead of ice cream. We usually go for sausage and beans to a different establishment nearby, which on this occasion had a 20 min wait, so we tried Nonnas. It's now the preferred option by my little food critic. Well done, nonnas!

Would be ZERO stars if I could! On 16th Nov, I booked a table for Hogmanay for 6 people. I got a phonecall on 29th Dec to say there was a glitch in their system and could they change it to 3pm. I initially said ok, but phoned back shortly after to say this time didn’t suit. I asked why they cancelled my original booking and was then told that they had a tribute night and needed to prepare the restaurant….so no glitch?? I emailed the manager to complain about my booking being cancelled at such short notice and got no reply. I emailed again a week later and received an email asking when would be convenient to phone me. I replied giving a range of suitable times… that was over a month ago and have still not received a call. Very poor customer service!

Am writing about the Dollar Branch and not Kirkintilloch. We went for a family birthday and we’re so disappointed. The service was so slow, all in all taking 2 and a half hours for meal. Had to ask for everything, to order drinks, to clear...

Went with my wife and daughter to Noona's kitchen at Dullatur Golf Club tonight. The food was excellent. Really great menu choice. Service was great. No complaints, will definitely be back again. Place was really busy so nice to see it doing well.

The over all Servise was terrible. Food is ok but I wouldn’t get anything more complicated than a burger and chips. The kitchen can seem to handle much more than this and what ever you do don’t send anything back. They can’t handle it.

Terrible service and very overpriced. Serving staff need training in not leaning over tables passing hot plates to customers to take their own plate. Spent over £150 I don’t expect my 84 year old mother to be lifting hot plates
