We have paid many a visit to this quintessential British Country Pub and it has always proved to be a real delight . On this occasion the visit was a Late Sunday lunch which was sublime as ever . 2 Courses Enjoyed and we retired to the bar , a great place to relax. John is a real delight and a great asset to the business,all staff are fantastic and nothing is too much effort. Great food , Great Staff , a Great British Country Pub .

Very good food with great service. A decent menu with plenty of choice. The cod and chorizo was fabulous But let me add a tip - you don’t need to do it for me. 😖.

We held an amazing party for 40 guests in the Ark room, which was made to look even more inviting than usual (if that's possible!) . The canapes and bowl food were excellent and the staff so friendly and professional, when serving the wonderful food and wines to all our guests. The planning with Tray, was super straight forward and she and all the staff went above and beyond, to help make our party such a success. Sending a huge thank you to the whole team!

Marvelous place which takes the pub lunch to a new elevated level. We were a large group but all the servings were hot and served efficiently. Wonderful experience.

We celebrated our anniversary here, having been recommended it by a friend, and it was wonderful. Friendly service, great selection of drinks and the most delicious food! Loved the scummy celeriac amuse-bouche, always appreciate this touch. We also enjoyed the cosy fires too on a blustery night. During our meal, an older couple came in and we noticed how the staff were really lovely and physically supported both of them into the dining room and to their table. It’s really heart warming to see people being supported and welcomed in this way. If you want proper, unpretentious but delicious food, in a cosy country pub with fabulous staff, then this is the place. Thank you to all the team x

The Noah's Ark graces the village green and cricket square of beautiful wealden village, Lurgashall. It is equally picturesque itself and offers a great atmosphere (more dining than pub tho' there were drinkers at the bar and quietly watching rugby on TV). Food is good standard gastro pub fare at the sort of prices you might expect to pay for such a beautiful location. BIggest issue we faced was finding a parking spot unthreatened by lusty six hitting from the cricketers. Dog friendly and welcoming. No reason not to return. I'm glad we found this lovely spot.

Excellent in every way. I noticed several reviews with three stars and want to comment on the service charge. The service was brilliant, friendly and very helpful. They even asked my wife on a scale of 1 to 10 how spicy she wanted her Virgin Mary drink - it was 6 and was extraordinarily good. The service charge was 10% on the bill and considering most restaurants now go for 12.5% very very good value. The ambiance was lovely but most important, the food was some of the best we have tasted for a long time. Yes, the sirloin was £30 but it was all excellent and precisely cooked to order. It was a special family meal for us and it was above expectations. It was our first visit and just from looking at the reviews online - congratulations to the chef and everybody at Noah’s Ark, we shall be back!!

The pub is lovely, the service was excellent and friendly, but there were zero vegan options. I had to create my own meal by customising a starter salad by removing the cheese, and adding a side of chips. I had asked for them to be brought on a plate together to make up my meal, but in the end I was given a tiny salad and chips in a bowl. Really disappointing. I eat out a lot in the UK and abroad and it’s almost unheard of now to find such an antiquated menu with nothing for vegans. Such a shame.

We had a wonderful family birthday meal here over the weekend. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely delish. Such a lovely atmosphere inside as well. Popped into the Noah's Ark yesterday for an impromptu lunch. What a place- sat outside in early spring sun with a perfect pint. Really impressed by the menu and both of us had the ribeye which was superb- perfectly cooked, excellent flavour and a really good chmichuuri. It was the most beautiful day so we were happy outside (a few tables well placed to avoid any cool breeze) but the main dining room looked superb. Seems the perfect place for a family lunch, or to get stuck in on a long afternoon discussing important matters. We have just had the most fantastic Christmas lunch at the Noah's ark pub in the delightful village of Lurgashall. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented. We both said that you could trail into London or go to a 5 star country hotel and not have a better experience. Their Christmas menu is delicious and very generous in portion size. The little warm mince pie with the bill was a nice generous touch. The gentleman who looked after us was very welcoming, friendly and didn't rush us at all. Although they are obviously adhering to Covid rules they have kept their lovely ambience, standard of food and it all felt very safe and relaxed. Plus it was at a very reasonable price too. Just wish we could go back tomorrow and have it again!! Highly recommended. A much needed brilliant start to Christmas 2020 Thank you

Beautiful venue - loved eating in the outside tent, which felt very Covid-safe. Great atmosphere, very warm and cosy. And the food was superb - best rib eye steak I’ve had for ages. And great, friendly service. What more could you ask for? We’ll be back very soon.

Lunch with friends on a blazing hot day in their new marquee - made to feel very comfortable despite the conditions. Short menu gave everyone options, pub food plus a level above - for me very well cooked salt cod cakes to begin & a roasted cod main course (too hot for meat!). Covid security well run without being obtrusive. The waiting staff were genuinely cheeful & extra-helpful (emptying the ice bucket to help us keep cool). Definitely worth the effort of the trip there.

Fabulous evening with family friends spent in the newly erected marquee. we were very lucky with the weather, watched the end of the cricket with a beer and then ordered.Service, food and surroundings are first class and the new marquee will offer a very pleasant evening whatever the weather. We booked in for drinks and food after a cricket game on the green - the location of the pub and views across the village / green are fantastic and they put on a wonderful buffet for 25 of us at £10pp, which was superb value. Good selection of beers as well. Looking forward to our next fixture here already!

I booked for Sunday lunch to celebrate my daughter's birthday with her sisters (all late 20s) and a family friend, having previously enjoyed an evening meal at the pub, and knowing of its good reputation and lovely location.The waiter was pleasant and the birthday sparkler was appreciated, but we were all very disappointed by the mediocre food and limited choice. Main points:-No vegetarian roast option, other than "you can have the vegetables and roast potatoes without the meat"-"Jersey new potatoes" to accompany the fish dish were old roasted new potatoes.-"Olives and tomatoes" with fish dish amounted to 2 or 3 of each.

From the moment we arrived at the venue we were instantly impressed. Service was totally efficient and on point, sold our favourite wine! Menu was simple and concise. The food was totally divine. Highly recommend

We’ve not eaten here for a while but delighted to say it’s as good as ever! Met old friends for lunch who’d never been before & we all had a delicious lunch! The prawn & chorizo linguine was very tasty & the beer bartered haddock - so often disappointing - had piping hot white fish inside, perfect light crispy batter & equally good chunky chips! We only had room for coffee afterwards but no matter! Staff were friendly & welcoming, the service efficient & yet we enjoyed a leisurely lunch on a wet & windy day which stopped our pre lunch walk! Very narrow roads lead into the beautiful village Green of Lurgashall where you will find the Noahs Ark Inn. Good parking available. We were lucky enough to reserve the Private Dining Room which will take 12 people / 14 max which would be cosy. The Sunday lunch menu has something to suit everyone. We loved the addition of a childrens menu as well. The roast sirloin was cooked to perfection, tender with a delicious crispy yorkshire pudding and a nice range of fresh vegetables - not overcooked. Good selection of desserts finished off our lovely lunch. Attentive service throughout made this a memorable occasion for us all. Will definitely return.

Had arranged to meet friends here on a Friday lunchtime on a beautiful summers day. Arrived at 12-30 to find the outside tables virtually empty and inside deserted. Asked where we could have lunch and were told they were fully booked and run-off their feet. Fortunately our friends had booked a table . We were surprised to find that only another 5 people ateinside and there were 3 tables occupied outside. This used to be a fun, busy pub that enjoyed serving anyone who turned up. Nowadays it seems to be ‘No booking means no food’. We will not return and would not recommend anyone wanting a welcome to go there either.

With three family for a Saturday lunch we booked the last table near the door but also next to a radiator! We all had three courses which is rare for us, but sensible portions of real quality cooking made it an excellent and leisurely experience. The best hamburger I have tasted out of USA!We were offered a move into the restaurant proper but were happy where we were. Friendly efficient service and we shall return for sure. When looking for a meeting point halfway to catch up with a friend visiting the UK from the USA, we came across the Noah's Ark Inn. Visited on a dreadful rainy day and the roads were a bit narrow and flooded but it was well worth the trip. Arriving at 11:30 we received a lovely, friendly welcome as we enjoyed tea and coffee on really comfy sofas by the fire. Before being seated at our table for lunch. An excellent variety of gluten free options for me as a coeliac, I chose the haddock and chips which was crispy, freshly cooked and hot. I hate when restaurants serve cold food. The rest of my party enjoyed the lunchtime steak and onion ciabatta with chips and the chicken wings starter and burger for my son. We were all delighted with our meals and the Noah's Ark Inn and staff. We travelled from Farnborough, Hampshire but will definitely return. Thanks for a lovely welcome and a delicious lunch 10/10

Lovely welcome, excellent service and tasty food - all in the most picturesque setting, characterful old inn on the village green. Sit next to the fire if you can.

I get that it's Michelin starred or whatever but the food is too fancy and overpriced. Pumpkin bisgue with seafood and chorizo was a basically a plate of soup. It was missing its advertised 'parmesan croute' - we asked for it, only to be served with a half piece of sliced granary with a bit of melted cheese on top. Hardly haute cuisine. Tandoori chicken with lentil and spinach salad, mango yogurt dressing - the chicken was moist but not very spicy, and the salad was WARM (thought that died out in the 90s) with the yogurt stirred through, so horribly curdled. Quite disgusting. You'd be better off sticking, as others in my party did, to plainer things like burger or beer battered fish and chips. The service was slow and at times snappy - when we asked where our ciabatta was we got a dusty answer about it being heated up - had they not got the oven on?? - and a requested pint of orange juice and soda we had to fetch from the bar. On the plus side, they understand gluten free and will explain what dishes on the menu are acceptable or can be adapted. But for what they charge, very disappointing

We were celebrating my daughter's 40th birthday with the family including 3 lively young children. We were given the most amazing welcome by Charlotte who was efficiency personified and endeared herself immediately to the children. Equally, Michael and Naz (hope spelled correctly) were fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxing and the food outstanding. Even to accomodating our wishes to bring in the surprise birthday cake alight with candles. The whole team at Noah's Ark made a special day even more so. Huge grateful thanks.

In deepest countryside, the Noahs Ark sits opposite a picturesque green and offers a great bar and a very pleasant dining room with first class food. We had a truffled venison carpaccio, which was perfectly prepared and generous. A main course of pumpkin bisque with seafood and octopus was delicate and gorgeous, another main of gnocchi with ceps and wild mushrooms was delicious and full of flavour. I had a home made burger with thick cut, crunchy chips and salad which was devoured very quickly. Desserts of pear tatin and raspberry sorbet were all excellent. We drank beer, but there is an excellent wine list. Lovely friendly service. We were accompanied by a 4 month old and a Border terrier, who were also made welcome!

I've been to The Noah's Ark Inn on more than one occassion and have not been disappointed. It's got bags of character and is located in the heart of the beautiful village. The service is freindly and the food was lovely.

It's totally worth it. Perfect dinning setting. Service and food faultless on our visit. Happy to test beer before ordering. Sgroppino at the end of the meal when there is no room for dessert - wonderfully refreshing.

The day we visited the pub we had a warm friendly welcome and the whole place resonated with a friendly atmosphere. The Noahs Ark is clearly an old pub but tastefully modernised with a small bar area, a larger separate room and a small room behind the bar which has a large inglenock fireplace and a log fire.

We were coming without announcement and found no place but by chance of retraction when we were leaving we were able to stay.

We met a friend for dinner on a Saturday evening and the decor is lovely and the dinners (all 3 different) were delicious. Desserts chosen were delicious as well. I had the sea bream with potatoes and leeks and thought it is likely the best fish I have eaten in the U.K. My husband had cockles in cream sauce and linguine and thought they were fabulous. Our friend’s choice received high marks from her as well. Sorry but our focus wasn’t on her dish to remember what she ate other than it had chorizo as an ingredient. The service needs to be sharpened, between checking to see if more beverages are needed to getting the check and processing the bill. Otherwise, it would have been a rating of 5 stars.

A lovely relaxed country pub in a beautiful village. The food and service in the restaurant was good as always, but remarkably sullen person behind the bar last night. Just a hello or a smile would suffice. It spoils things.

We already love Noah's Ark and it was the natural choice for us to celebrate our 'significant birthdays' and 20th wedding anniversary all in one swoop! The private dining room is gorgeous - elegant and stylish. Organising the Sunday lunch was easy with the kind help of Amy, Henry, Tray and all the team and the day was absolutely perfect! Divine food as always, delicious drinks and wonderful attentive service. We were absolutely thrilled to treat our dearest friends to such a lovely occasion - thank you all so much for making it so memorable!

I met a friend here this evening and wow what a change since my last not very successful visit about 5 years just before we moved house. I appreciate that things change in that time but the people who own/run it now are onto a good thing. There were really good menu choices, and they were much more appealing than the published menu on the website. I appreciate its hard to keep online menus up to date though. I struggle with large plates of food and they kindly offered a child's portion which I was delighted with. Very inventive food, highly recommend it, excellent table service and it felt like you were in a local pub, not a posh restaurant attached to a pub which I'm never a fan. Give it a go, ut you would have to book.

We went for supper with friends and had a fantastic meal at this wonderfully picturesque location in Sussex. Food was superb and a few pints of Timothy Taylor went down well. The steaks were great. I believe this to be more of a restaurant than a pub, but has great elements of both, the cricketers sat around having a few pints after a hard day in the field! Had been looking forward to eating here after visiting for a drink a couple of years ago. Staff friendly but unfortunately we weren't told of the specials board or the sandwich menu and just given main menu which was limited. 7.25 for two very small spring rolls was disappointing. Looking around it seems most people were eating from sandwich menu so lesson learned. Great setting but average food.

Yes, the food is good, but it is also very expensive. Starters begin at £7, and a main begins at £17 unless going for burger and chips (£12.50).
