No.46 Cafe/Bar in Ryedale

Food was lovely, well presented and quickly served once ordered. Only downside is that a lot of the young staff were inexperienced and I know everyone has to learn but three couples got up to pay whilst we were there having had the bill for ages, and our waitress spilled a drink as they were delivered without apologies or wiping up the spill.

An absolutely fantastic meal and ambience. I had the pork and croquettes which were insanely delicious whilst my wife had cod and mullet which were equally fab. Good wine choice and excellent friendly service and very attentive as my wife is intolerant to egg. Very reasonably priced. All in all an absolutely great place

What a find this was, we’re worried the menu didn’t have lots of choice but there was plenty and the food was fabulous. Very tasty and well presented, the staff and atmosphere was good too. We visited as 2 couples and really enjoyed our meal.

I can’t recommend Forty Six enough. Amazing food, great staff, classy venue and superb value for money. I’ve been lucky enough to visit a number of great restaurants all over the world. Forty Six is up there with the best of them. There wasn’t one thing I’d do differently. Well done.

Yet again amazing food for a special night. I had rack of lamb which was beautifully cooked and melted in the mouth. Hubby had cod miso and said it was stunning - the broth was amazing. The dessert board, again, fantastic. Staff are always polite and attentive, love this place.

Four of us visited the restaurant and each of us had a fantastic meal. The Padron peppers, to start were delicious with just the right amount of “bite” left- another minute and that would have gone.’ The truth is, every dish we had was cooked beautifully. Three of us had the rack of lamb. I can honestly say that this was the best lamb I have ever tasted. Supremely tender and served pink. Lamb can sometimes be bland but this was full of flavour, utterly delicious. The miso cod was faultless too, in a delicious broth. One of us had the ox cheek, which, judging by the empty plate, did not disappoint. Desserts were yummy ! The Amerena cherry baked Alaska and the rhubarb rice pudding could not have been better. The wine list is all good value, as well as having something to suit everyone. I have used a lot superlatives here but, they are well deserved. Each of us had some great food and lovely wine. We will be going back before too long.

Firstly, the food was absolutely outstanding! Everything we chose was cooked to perfection. This is the third time we have been in the last 6 months and each time the food has been incredible. What let our experience down was the very slow service. We were booked in at 19:30 and still had not been given food by 20:45. We were told there would be a little wait due to a large booking upstairs but this turned out to be rather a long wait. It didn’t spoil our evening but certainly took the edge off slightly!

Full marks for atmosphere, service and especially the food. The plates were presented really well and tasted even better. Definitely a place to go to celebrate something special but priced very reasonably to have that something special more often than not. Without a doubt the best place to go in Malton and surrounding. Well done everyone involved!

I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. Gemma makes sure all the staff are attentive and brilliantly trained without being intrusive. The food is beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. I can’t recommend highly enough. A rare find!!!

Brilliant Sunday lunch! All the meat was just right and the Yorkshires were superb. Great roast potatoes and the veg - wow!! The desserts looked amazing but we just couldn’t manage anything else. Friendly service. Lovely meal on a wet February Sunday- we WILL be back. Thank you!

I had a Sunday dinner board and it was absolutely bloody amazing! The beef, pork and lamb wellington were so tender, the best bit was the creamed leeks tho - WOW!

Met up with friends for lunch, a fantastic experience, although a very busy restaurant for a January Sunday our service was impeccable & the food was a fantastic concept that really works. This restaurant not even a year into trading really is a credit to Malton.
