Nissi Mezedakia Restaurant in Enfield

Booked for 3 but 2 more added to our party. Recognise this was our mistake but the waiter was rude and aggressive when we asked if they could accommodate us. We could have waited 30 mins to get a table but the restaurant was so loud we decided to leave.

We booked for 3 people, we then realised there were 5 of us. We tried to ring ahead to ask for a bigger table but we couldn’t get through. We arrived and the owner was very rude and aggressive towards us. He told us to stand at the bar so that we weren’t in the way. It was packed and very noisy and frantic. We were told that we’d have to wait 20/30 minutes - squashed up at the bar, so we left. The owner then became even more angry. He was clearly very stressed and all the staff were rushed off their feet. However we didn’t want to spend our evening in this place with such a negative and frantic atmosphere. I told the owner that his attitude had upset me.

Nissi is situated opposite the rather gloomy Broomfield Park. Pretty expensive and rather average food. The staff were OK but the manager was pretty rude and grumpy. We had a mix of mezeddes and individual meals. I don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. I prefer traditional Greek restaurants but they are few and far between but there are some excellent Turkish restaurants in Woodgreen.

Blown away by the high standards - extremely fresh, high quality Greek cuisine with exquisite tasting 'meze'. Everything, quite literally, every dish was expertly prepared or cooked. Simple stuff - the houmous, the grilled halloumi, were perfect. The calamari and octopus excellent, prawns superb. It's my first visit to restaurant local to me, but for sure will not be my last. Not cheap at £38 per person for the meze, (minimum 2 people) but that it was worth every penny is testament to its quality. Every mouthful a little bit of Greek lemon-infused, olive oil dressed, a taste of honey heaven. Top class

While the food was fresh, it remained insanely expensive for dinner. I had a chicken pita and two small glasses of wine, no sides, for £30. I actually left still hungry. They served me half a pita cut up in small pieces and some lemon wedges to start with no dips while I was waiting for my food. Still no idea what the lemon wedges were for. I would avoid if you want to eat a proper dinner. Insanely priced for what you get.

Really nice Greek restaurant in Palmers Green, visited on friend’s recommendation. The menu features a wide selection of mid-size sharing plates, grilled fish and meat and souvlaki. These are supplemented with fabulous salads and perfect fluffy, crispy chips. The smoked artichoke was fantastic and the pacific prawns generous. The waiter gave good advice on wines and all round it was a top class experience.

We very much enjoyed dinner, celebrating granddad's 90th birthday. The Head Chef, Carl, used his magic and fresh ingredients to provide very tasty food (including our favourites: chargrilled octopus, chicken & lamb souvlaki and grilled calamari). Andy and his team ensure a polite and efficient service in a nice atmosphere. We have been going to Nissi for many years - always left the restaurant very happy and with very full bellies. Try it!

Great food, felt rushed to finish the meal off! Lovely asmosphere just had the waitress looming over us and removed each of out plates literally as we finished. Felt like we couldn't relax, eat n leave, wasn't even that busy! Food great though

A nice restaurant for Greek food. We were shown to our reserved table promptly. Drinks were served and orders taken without delay. We had 7 shared entrees and 4 mains with extra orders of Greek salad and Cyprus chips. The entrees were all delicious, especially the Greek sausages. The mains were outstanding especially the octopus and grilled calamari. The portions were generous, we couldn't have any desserts ! The service was efficient and we were made very welcome. Highly recommended. Reservation is essential.

Hadn’t been here in a while came in last minute. Food was amazing Service Was Great True there is one waitress who doesn’t crack a smile as per previous reviews but overall they are are really friendly. Service was at a nice pace not rushed at all despite how busy they obviously were. Starters all delicious especially the Halloumi. Red Mullet fab. Generous portions. Lovely little ice cream gratuity at the end to finish off. Not a cheap night out but the quality of the food make it a worthwhile treat.

OK. North London in an area where our mob have a few quid, I expected the Meze's to at least cover the things you would expect from them. Don't get me wrong, the food was OK, most things tasted nice, but felt let down for the price they charged with regards to the following. No Tahini with the starters, Halloumi was nice, but no Lounza, no Loukanika, some of the starters were cheap alternatives, ie fasolaki yiahni. Kalamari and Fish was exceptional, then the mains come out, a small skewer or Pork and Chicken Kebab. No Lamb cutlets, no Sheftalies. To top it all, you would at least expect when you go in a large group, offer a cup of coffee at the end for the love of God. It won't kill you but to the unfortunate thing about our lot is they don't like to give anything away. Maybe we need to learn from our Turkish counterparts in London or the Cypriots from Cyprus.

Nice food, though rushed by miserable looking waitresse, didn't feel relaxed, our plates were taken as soon as we finished food by a waitress that stood too close, staring at our eating! Was like the gestapo swooping in. Seemed upset when we wanted to order coffees. I know there is 2 hour time limit but we were well in before our 2 hour time limit. Thanks but no thanks, try Babinondas at Winchmore Hill, totally different vibe.

Had a nice evening here with family. Food okay/good, service friendly, tables a little close but worth a visit.

As a Greek Cypriot, I like to think I know my Cypriot food!. I have been angered by restaurants in North London who have done disgusting things with their prices and their portion sizes. Not this restaurant! Wonderfully prepared food, smiley servers and a wonderful setting. The fish and meats are beautifully prepared and are wonderfully authentic. My new favourite north London Cypriot meZe restsurant. You won’t be disappointed!

Food was lovely and fresh. Choice was limited though and barely any dessert menu. I felt the service was very rushed, staff snatching away your plates before you had even finished. It was also costly and very noisy. I didn’t find it a relaxing atmosphere. Too squashed together and too loud. Not my favourite Greek restaurant in London and probably wouldn’t return.

We went for lunch and was greeted warmly and welcomed to sit wherever we liked, even though we didn't book. We ordered a mix of starters, main courses, and sides (as the mains doesn't come with any sides) everything tasted very nice. We was also given a complimentary ice cream, which was also very tasty. The bill roughly came to £35 a head, which is reasonable for the quality we had. The staff and food are excellent and will happily return soon.

We had a great lunch at Nissi. Friendly, quick and efficient service, nice vibe and excellent food. We will be back for sure.

Went for dinner at Nissi with a friend (second time I've been) and had a really lovely experience. The servers saw that my friend had got me flowers for my upcoming birthday and so they wished me a happy birthday (also kept jokingly thanking us, pretending that they thought the flowers were for them, which was funny). At the end of the meal they surprised me with a bowl ice cream and a candle, and sang happy birthday (my friend had no involvement in it). Then they did the same to the table next to us, which we all had a laugh about. My friend and I got the Mezedakia (tasting selection of 10 cold starters) to share and it was all tasty and hearty, also felt very healthy. I also ordered calamari for myself. However, I realised when we received the bill that I had mistakenly asked for a main course portion of calamari, which was £18, when I wanted the one from the starters section, which was £10. It was technically my mistake for not being clear but they were super accomodating and amended the bill so I was charged the cheaper price. Also the surprise birthday ice cream was free. Lastly, the restaurant closed at 8pm as it was a Sunday but they were happy for us to stay a little longer while we waited for transport. Thanks to the servers at Nissi for a heart-warming evening, I look forward to my next visit!

Just eaten at Nissi after a recommendation from a friend. It was a fabulous meal - from the amazing pitta and mezze to the delicious octopus and lamb for mains. Will be back as soon as we can! Highly recommended.

For ages now we’ve been looking for a really good Greek restaurant in north London to add our list of favourites. I’m happy to say that we’ve now found it!This unassuming local restaurant is actually Greek Cypriot cuisine. The menu has mainly small meze-style dishes, but there are also the usual meat and fish mains. We had a selection of the meze plates and every one was delicious as well as really nicely presented. The calamari especially were just as good as any in Greece. Service was excellent and the prices very reasonable. All in all a great find. Highly recommended.

This is now my favourite Cypriot restaurant in London! The food is fantastic!! Perfectly cooked and flavoured to taste like Cyprus! The staff are on it and very quick! I found it to be very reasonably priced!

Service was good, meze starter was 10 small dishes of food and pitta bread, octopus was fantastic but lamb was slightly chewy, no side dishes with mains all had to be ordered separately ie salad chips, slightly overpriced.

This attractively decorated restaurant is a two minute walk from Palmers Green station. One of our waitresses was exceptionally friendly (one was a bit gruff!) We had a cocktail each to begin. I tried a Greek Cosmo, which was tasty, although not very strong. I later had a beautifully chilled Greek lager.To eat, we tried the set meze, which was 20 dishes. If I had known the amount of food which we would be served, I probably would have opted for the a la carte menu, as I felt overly full by the end of the meal. But it was mostly absolutely delicious and everything looked a picture. I particularly enjoyed the HUGE prawns, a beautifully fresh salad and some, crispy on the outside but soft in the middle, deep fried courgette balls and the most tender pork meat on a skewer I have ever eaten. Oddly, given the size of the meal, we were served what the menu described as "complementary" ice cream at the end (I am not sure what made it free) but we were given just three small balls between three of us.Service was not included in the bill which came to just over £43 each when we added it on.

We ordered Mezedes for 4. There were cold starters, dips, hot starters, fish, meat, salad and the food just kept coming out. It was freshly prepared and delicious. One small niggle - although the ice cream we were given for dessert was good, it would have been nice to finish off with a piece of baklava.

We booked for 3pm on a saturday. at no stage were we rushed to st down and order or pressured in any way as is usually the case in other restaurants. The servers took our drinks orders . the drinks arrived and then the server took our food order. we mostly ordered Mezethes. The food came at a leisurely pace which we all appreciated. the kalamari and octopus was cooked to perfection, tender tasty (maybe a bit too much salt) but acceptable.he cheesy herb balls were so nice.The dips were in my opinion homemade and delicious. The clever thing was as is always the case, by the time the souvlakia arrived, there was just enough to enjoy and waste nothing. 6 skewers between 5 people was just enough with a tiny amount left over.The girls that were serving, and the waiter (especially the tall one) worked so hard were always available for any drinks order.Will now use Nisi for all our family occasions. A thorough pleasure to eat there.

We normally eat Turkish but thought we would try this for a change. Firstly, the place was busy for a Thursday and the customers seemed perfectly happy. I won't be going back though. We had the mezedes and it was fine. All the menu is seriously overpriced with basic main course about £17.95 not including any sides at all which have to be bought separately. I found the place quite noisy. The service was fine if a little curt and the explanations of the menu in slightly mangle English. Overall I found the place pretentious and up itself. But then I am used to Turkish which is less than half the price.

I ate there in May with family and friends from London after a football match when I celebrated that I´m going to be 50 years this year. I recommend anyone in London to make the detour there for a visit. It is more than worth it. I must come there again next time I´m in London.

Un amigo griego me presentó a este restaurante. Lo primero que noté, a pesar de estar con los griegos durante más de 40 años, fue el ruido. Bueno, la conversación griega tiene dos volúmenes: ¡cada vez más fuerte! Sin embargo, la falta de mobiliario suave no hizo nada para reducirlo. Decidimos tener el Mezze para dos. Este no es el bocadillo ligero que podría esperar si piensa en Tapas, sino un viaje culinario a través de la cocina griega. ¡Uno comienza con los aperitivos y luego sigue viniendo! Todo es tan delicioso que es una pena dejarlo, así que al final uno está lleno, ¡o demasiado lleno!

Oh Dios mío. . . tan delicioso y fresco! ¡INCREÍBLE! ! ! Tuve la lubina, fue increíblemente suculento y muy sabroso. El pez espada de mi esposo también fue realmente increíble, todos terminaron sus platos por completo. Voy a muchos restaurantes y puedo decir con seguridad que definitivamente volveré a este, de hecho, probablemente se convertirá en un lugar habitual para nosotros.

Just had a great lunch here. Best octopus I've had outside of Galicia. Calamari is amazing without all that batter and breadcrumbs you get at other places. Tarama was light and probably homemade. My new go to place for seafood.

We ordered three Meze's at £30 each. We felt that the food wasnt enough. We had 1 skewer of pork between 3 people. Two skewers of chicken between 3 people. Are we not meant to have our own skewers each? Nissi doesnt server lamb chops, lounza or sheftalias which is traditional for a greek Meze. For desert we had two scoops of ice cream on one plate between 3 people. (If 10 people order a meze are you going to only give 5 scoops between them?)

Good atmosphere. Andy the owner was very friendly and the food was filling and delicious and 5 star presentation. The meze was excellent. Starters and grilled swordwish, prawns, mushrooms, halloumi, skewers of lamb, pork, chicken, calamari...endless cold dishes and fresh and tasty.

We tried this for the frst time at the weekend, we'll definetly be back, it was absolutley outstanding!

Re-visited Nissi in Palmers Green and was pleased I did. We returned as a family and enjoyed the food and ambiance, and left feeling like we enjoyed a very good evening.

I have had meze at countless restaurants and this is as good as it gets outside of the ridiculously expensive. Great ingredients cooked to perfection and served at the right pace and rhythm, and in optimal amounts. It is hard to fill up early and have no room for the heavier dishes. You end the meal having tasted everything and just full. They had no problem serving jugs of water (for some reason no one was drinking). It was a birthday celebration and it was much appreciated. Service is very good and despite the cosy nature the restaurant is very comfortable. Parking is a bit tricky but otherwise I wholeheartedly recommend Nissi. The octopus is especially good.

Went to Missing for the first time not knowing what to expect.

Not your "traditional" Greek restaurant however the food is hearty and delicious. The restaurant was very busy for the weekday with a good atmosphere, felt like a Saturday night. The service was sort of attentive, Overall had a fab time and will be returning

De vuelta, unos 2 años después de la última visita y poco ha cambiado. La comida era excelente con el pescado cocinado a la perfección. El servicio era eficiente y agradable y el ambiente del restaurante era bueno. Un montón de comensales le dio al lugar un verdadero alboroto.

Como parte de las celebraciones de mi cumpleaños, 6 de nosotros pasamos una noche fabulosa en Nissi.

No regresaría a este restaurante incluso si me pusieras un arma en la cabeza. Estaba allí con un cliente hace dos días y entró con hambre y se fue con hambre. Las porciones que sirven son tan pequeñas en comparación con el precio que cobran. Por cierto, no pidas agua ya que se carga a 4 por botella! ! !

Vine aquí con algunos amigos en una concurrida noche de sábado tuvimos mezze para 4 todos los entrantes fríos donde estaban frescos y sabrosos, seguidos de bolas de calabacín - un fantástico halloumi a la parrilla calamares fritos pulpo keftedes hongos y una lubina bellamente cocinada y luego tuvimos cerdo y el souvlaki de pollo, todo se presentó y se cocinó en un punto donde la comida se terminó con helado de rosa y pistacho y baklava.

As a Greek Cypriot in London I regularly visit many restaurants and over the years have regularly attended all the best Greek restaurants in North London. However none have compared to Nissi. I have now been here a dozen times and thought it was time to leave a review. 5 star food everytime, always consistent and the quality is second to none. Highly recomended. I recommend the swordfish kebabs.

We came here for a friend's birthday and have been a couple of times before. The food is a good standard but honestly a bit on the expensive side for what it is. When we first sat down they were rushing us to order and there was very little break between starter and main course. I could understand if the restaurant was busy but it was only half full, if that.

This is a must if you are in Palmers Green and want to eat well cooked food! Have already booked for Xmas.

Second time of eating here and although the first experience was very pleasant, this time it wasn't. Went with two friends to celebrate my birthday so was hoping for a very nice and relaxed evening. It took a LONG time for the orders to be taken, it was as though we were invisible where we were sitting, lots of staff going here and there but no-one looking our way and we had to call the waitress over to get her attention. Very sullen, unfriendly and unhelpful young lady. Tried to recommend a wine which we already knew was not to our liking and then very reticent to allow us to taste a different one which we did eventually purchase. Order was taken but when our starters arrived only two of us were served, my friend's order was clearly forgotten as, again after trying to get someone's attention, they finally served this by which time we had finished and my friend was left to eat alone. The starter was literally thrown on the table and the waiter walked away, no apology and no explanation. All subsequent platters were very poorly served with staff reaching over the table to take plates while we were still eating so we had to stop while they cleared to their convenience. Very disappointed as this was a birthday celebration and think, when I pay for a nice meal out, I don't want to feel like I am an inconvenience to the staff and hurried along to finish asap. Shame as food was nice but there are lots of restaurants in the area who serve as good food with much nicer staff, won't be going back and wouldn't recommend.

A fantastic dining experience. My wife had the lamb cutlets, they were juicy and tender I had the sea bream, incredible. Andy and his staff are attentve and offer a proional service second to none

This was our first visit so we chose the Mezedes which was perfect for our family of different eating requirements. It gave us a great range of different tastes and was extremely filling - so if you choose this dish, pace yourself!

Enjoyable selection of food which was very good for a vegetarian. Particularly liked the grated courgette balls and aubergine dip. They serve pitta bread with your meal and provide free baklava and ice-cream at the end of your meal. Not cheap but very filling. I got a 2 starters, 2 dips, salad, chips and olives and couldn't eat it all. Came to over £30 but next time I'd buy less! Also really liked service. Would recommend!

Visited this restaurant with friends that i hadn’t seen in a while.

We were recommended here by some local people we met in a pub as this was our first time staying in this area! The meze was fantastic as was the service. The barman (sorry didn't take his name) was very friendly and we had a good rapport with the Manager, even though our football teams differed! We will be back again.

A £28. 95 por cabeza, sin duda el meze más caros, se esperaría que dejar una sensación de estómago lleno y satisfecho. Mencioné esto al director y dijo que estábamos un poco sorprendidos por el tamaño de las porciones y que había sido esperaba un poco más, ya que aún estaban hambrientos. This is the best Greek restaurant in the area. The meze is fantastic specially the octopus. It's not cheap and you need need to book in advance but it's worth the money

Went here with the Mrs and had an absolutely lovely Meze. The good was plentiful, and to a high standard. The octopus was incredible and seafood was extremely tasty. Not the cheapest of Meze's around, but definitely one of the best in North London.

Eaten here a number of times and will choose this place whenever trying to impress friends or family, the food is faultless. Meze with a contemporary english twist. Absolutely delicious!

Très bonne expérience pour découvrir la cuisine grecque. On vous sert plein de bonnes choses. Tout est bon, tout est bien présenté. We have been twice in this restaurant and we really love their mezes freshly prepared and mostly seafood. When you first see the place you don’t think is a very good restaurant but it really deserves 5 star. Definitely recommend and going back again.
