Went on a Thursday so it was a little quiet. Service and food were amazing

Date night with my wife. We’ve been to this restaurant before but I’ve never had the sea bass (not what you normally go to a TexMex for) and it was superb. Really well cooked as were the accompanying seasonal vegetables. I started with Chicken liver peri peri (very nice) and my wife had halloumi fries and chilli con Quorn (vegan) which she said was really tasty. Service was also excellent. Highly recommend this place.

Staff were all polite and friendly. The food was tasty, the quesadillas were served differently than I am used to seeing (cheese on outside of tortilla and sauces/dips on top) but the chicken inside was lovely and very well cooked. Would come again.

Great time had by all with amazing staff who went over and above for our group. Music and dancing until the early hours 😊

Went Friday night with my husband. Food was amazing and cocktails good too. Waitress was lovely and service was good. Great atmosphere and a nice date night 🙌🙌

Very welcoming , lovely greeting at the door, seated and drinks order taken quickly and efficiently. Food was lovey and couldn’t fault it in any way. Delicious 😋 starter was brought very quickly , we had a combo sharing platter and it was very good. Main was brought a little too quickly as we had literally had a sip of our drinks after finishing our starter and it arrived, would have liked a little bit of a break before the next course. It was lovely though and the staff are just attentive enough and very nice. I would definitely come again and happily recommend it to others.

Been meaning to try this place for some years and treated ourselves to a takeaway. Am sorry, probably one of the worst takeaway meals have eaten in my life. Half cooked, cold and flavourless - not much of the flavour of Mexican food at all - certainly didn't look as good as the food people have left photos on reviews for, I presume takeaway customers are less important.. I only ate about a quarter of my meal as started to feel sick so stopped. Such a shame and a real disappointment. Expensive mistake.

Always a pleasure to visit here . Usually come for quite an early dinner but on this occasion attended with a large group for pre Christmas catch up. Great Kareoke , great staff and we had some one in our group that was Gluten Free and the guys were so accomadating. I forgot to mention the great cocktails Can't recommend enough xx

Haven't visited since we left the UK in 2018 & feeling reminiscent of our dating days in Sawbridgeworth my husband booked my birthday meal here last night. Despite the prices going up (which we expected) we were met with friendly staff & amazing service. Going for my old favourite - Enchiladas I was overjoyed that they still tasted as delicious as I remembered them. The Killer Zombie cocktail went down a treat aswell! We had nachos to start which were delicious although salsa & guacamole included would have been nice and the Halloumi cheese sticks. The jam with it was divine! My husband has the BBQ special & the meat melted off the ribs & chicken. Absolutely gorgeous.

We came back again to celebrate another birthday lots and lots of us and we was all well looked after, fed well very pleased with everything! Great place!

Outstanding!! We have been going here since 2021 and loved it each and every time. From eating in to getting take out. We have only had outstanding service. The prices are so reasonable too. Best Mexican food I have ever had! Arrives quick and hot. With every sauce you need. Absolutely highly recommend!!

Best restaurant in the area, and I'm lucky to live just round the corner. Staff are amazing and always have been, food just gets better every time and the atmosphere is fantastic.

Hi I visited new Mexico on the 30th sep 2023 the restaurant was clean & busy with a good atmosphere we ordered drinks and nachos (shared) for starters very nice then for main I ordered combi fajitas my wife prawn fajitas well the food was nice but my wife had 3 wraps and there was only 3 prawns in the combi I had 1 prawn 2 tiny bits of beef and four pieces of chicken for 3 wraps very disappointed we had dessert which was loveley reasonably priced but the main meal let the evening down I won't be returning....

Fab place to eat, great food and cocktails

Very disappointed this time. The food portions were very small. I was offered fries or sweet potato fries without being told potato fries would be charged as a side at £3.50 so where were my fries that were included in my £20 burger meal? My 6 chicken wing starter for £8.50 turned out to be 3 chicken wings cut in half into 6 pieces. After the meal we were being brought up drinks already poured without being asked if we wanted more. I realise that rising costs are hitting hard but my food was nothing exceptional and I definitely feel not value for money costing me £50 including 3 drinks (1 I didn’t ask for).

Have driven past this place that many times and spontaneously decided to visit for my birthday. So glad we did! The head waiter was great - super efficient and friendly. The cocktails were done properly (not like those places where the menu sounds great but the results are disappointing), the service was first class and the food delicious. Return visit already planned

Lovely Mexican Restaurant in Sawbridgeworth! I just stumbled upon this restaurant by searching Mexican food in Google Maps! The nachos is to die for! Calamari is a little too small and oily. My friend order pulled pork enchiladas and it’s delicious! I had the fajitas combo, with beef, prawn and chicken. I really love it!

Terrible experience !!! Was seated and the first round of drinks was polled directly into my lap with the glasses shattering all over me then, after spending a substantial amount of time trying in vane to dry my clothes under the toilet hand dryer we were reseated, before ordering and still soaking wet I asked the front of house staff if I could expect a reasonable discount if I stayed for food and was assured I definitely would, so after ordering and continuing with a below average and way overpriced meal I was presented with a bill that only had the two spilt drinks removed and when I explained that this was completely unreasonable I was told to pay the bill and send the dry cleaning bill to them, rude, arrogant and downright disrespectful!!! Avoid this place, Im a chef in hospitality and this goes against everything the industry stands for !! Disgusting behaviour! 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Amazing service, good tex-mex standards

Had a great night, can't believe we hadn't been there sooner. Staff were really helpful, food and drinks came out really fast. The cocktails were delicious and the food was lovely too. Will absolutely go again

Once the waitress took our order the food was ready in 5 minutes which you can taste it that it was from microwave and not fresh at all.i would not go back there.ive been to many Mexican restaurants and this one is not even close to Mexican food

Positives The staff were politely, friendly and helpful. Highchair was provided. The food generally was good. Garlic prawns and the nachos were really good. The cocktails were nice, especially because of Happy Hours Toilets were clean Negatives My crispy wings were not crispy, the BBQ sauce they were in was watery and on the sweet side for my taste. My salad was roughly chopped rather than shredded, which would have looked much nicer and easier to eat. No dressing on it or offered. The paella was dry and bland.

We had a large party of people a few weeks back for a birthday. Food was delicious and served promptly, staff were super welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere as well was really lovely. We all had a great time, will be back.

Ate here last week. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I am now here enjoying a Friday evening. Such attentive staff and enjoying the pina colada cocktails. Great singing now too. Would highly recommend.

Having driven past this restaurant many times over the years I thought I’d give it a try. How bad could it be, it’s got pretty good reviews. The food is so bad. The enchiladas were laced in an ultra-processed sickening sauce, in fact there was so much of this that it was hard to fish out what they had passed off as meat. In fact you’d probably get better quality from a Farm Foods frozen enchilada meal. The cheese sticks tasted like they had been simmered in stale vegetable oil for days. The staff were nice though. Total rip off. Avoid.

Food was cooked and presented well, one of our party had paella and at the bottom of the dish she could taste the metal coating from the pan.

Fabulous 🤩 Food, drinks and entertainment

I really wanted to like this, and things started off ok as there were some birthdays, and the atmosphere was initially joyful. Food was mediocre for the £75 with 1 starters, 2 mains and a couple of drinks. Nachos starter was presented in an unappealing manner, bad quality salsa let it down, no guacamole which we ordered but never arrived inspite of us chasing. My Fajita was below standard, instead of salsa, some sweet & sour slop had been plonked over it which ruined it as I couldn't scrape it off. My partner loved the ribs, although his chicken wings sauce didn't really have a kick to it. There was a particularly loud table that were seated right next to us, that didn't stop swearing *in front of children (for the duration). They could have been given a corner table, and frankly with the bad food & potty mouth clientele it doesn't appeal as a place to return to. We make pretty good Tex-Mex food ourselves... although I do hope someone will open a decent one in the area soon.

Randomly decided to go here when looking for somewhere to eat after a late night cinema trip and was not disappointed. It was late when we arrived (on a week day) and there was only one other couple in there, which made it lovely and quiet lol. Upon arriving we was met with such a wonderful, friendly waitress. The food was nice, the decor was lovely and the staff were super friendly and welcoming, which is so important for me whenever I go anywhere. A pleasant experience.

Everything is vety nicr...except prices...glass of vine £9,50

After a hard week at work it is nice to come here and imagine being in another place and be waited on with a genuine smile. Very punchy cocktails and the Espetada’s are spot on. A bonus too, the toilets are spotless. A lovely night out.

I miss chiquito, so I tried this Mexican restaurant, it was good! Definitely going back to try different dishes. They have a bar with karaoke on the other side and let it go song came on, well.... the whole restaurant was singing it while eating!!

Some how our drinks bill came to £172 for 3 people and 2 of them only had 5 diet cokes between them!! When I asked for an itemised bill they couldn't supply one! Very disappointed and feel like I've been had over.

Food was horrible. Clearly just frozen and heated up. The nachos starter was awful. I had a vegan burger, it tasted like cardboard, couldn’t eat it. Was told it’s because it usually is served with sour cream (which doesn’t make sense because then it wouldn’t be vegan) just an excuse for bad food. Overly priced, a can of coke costing nearly £3. Service was great but food AWFUL.

Food was lovely, ordered a range of items from the sharing starter and chicken wings. Enchiladas are full of flavour and the secret recipes used in there lamb dishes will keep you going back for more. The menu Sint huge but there's plenty of options and all the food o nit is done well, which is worth so much more. Accompanying the menu is a very well stocked bar and a range of cocktail options. Slightly off the high street, parking is available around the corner and its free after 18:00. Decor is perfect, creates a fun atmosphere, kept very clean and gives a family restaurant vibe. Chairs are comfy and set you up for a relaxed evening. Also has a fun photo wall for the photogenic visitors. It's good for a date, a family meal or any gathering really. I'd reccomend booking to avoid disappointment as it can get busy. Staff are friendly happy to talk about the menu and will provide great service with the main bar man being a really friendly guy. Price is a big point for lots of people, so I'll say this. The food is on the cheaper side, I felt the price I paid for the food was more than fair given the large portions. The bar is a tad more expansive than the other pubs near buy but for the collection, quality and service I see why they charge the price they do. If on a budget eating here is still a good idea, but the bar is what will take up your bill. Very happy with this place, interning to come again.

Been coming for years, still a delicious date night treat we can always enjoy. Always wary of spending money at the moment, but it is yet to let me down with friendliness and flavour.

First time eating at a Mexican restaurant on a stopover in Sawbridgeworth and everything was perfect. Our waitress was polite, professional and attentative for the entirety of our visit. We ordered the Nachos followed by pulled pork burritos. The portion sizes were just right, everything...

Really wanted Mexican one evening so tried this restaurant out. The food was expensive and not even tasty. We ordered a vegetarian fajita which didn’t taste fresh at all. Ordered a vegetarian enchilada and again it tasted quite bland. Rice didn’t come with it so ordered it on the side and it was dry. I think the thing that put me off the most was the salsa. It came out some cheap jar or something.. really not nice

As usual the food was great, but the waitressing staff were very unattentive this evening took about an hour between finishing the main course and getting our dessert (cheesecake). Could barely talk with each other as there were several large groups of excessively noisy guys dining in.

I don't know how this restaurant gets such high reviews, bang average food (I can cook more authentic Mexican at home), very slow service and massively over priced menu. Happy father's day!

Friendly service, large portions and at a decent price. We enjoyed 3 courses when we visited, loved the enchiladas. I found that the service was good and we waited the perfect time between ordering and food arriving - it was midweek so wasn't too busy. The menu in the restaurant is more extensive than the one online. Toilets were clean. Card (amex) is accepted. Service charge/tip isn't automatically added.

Avoid at all cost. The food was really awful. We were forced to order 2 main course even though we dint want to as they said its company policy. The food was just microwaved as the plate was hot. The food being disgusting as it was super smelly. I dint eat a thing and was charged so high for the food. Do not visit this place

We decided to organize a work leave do in New Mexico restaurant. I really enjoyed cheezy chicken nachos and a sea bass. Staff was very kind, they re-made a starter for a party member who arrived late. It was fun to watch the bartender juggle and throw things. Also there was karaoke. Not sure if they do it every night or just Saturday. Will visit again 😀

We booked for 19 people for my sons birthday, the food was excellent as was the service, the food came out hot and all at the same time, which is rare with a big table. Very impressed thanks for a lovely evening.
