New Lotus Flower in Larne

Would be our first choice for eating out if we where socialising.have been eating here since the mid 90s and have never had a single issue to complain about.have celebrated many happy occasions here.would recommend to anyone

Trruely horrendous avoid.... Old stale dry rubbish.

ordered takeaway 2 hours to come bad enough .... meal delivered was disgusting inedible and worse when I rang to give constructive criticism was yelled at by a clearly juvenile manager .Avoid at any cost food was filed under B. I never leave reviews unless it's really bad or good, but in this case my honest verbal review was rudely disregarded out of hand.

The restaurant was very busy when I went to collect our takeaway, but that was a good sign! There was a slight delay, but it was certainly worth waiting for. The food quality was excellent, good portions and great flavour. We will certainly be using them again. 😀

Pathetic curry well they call it curry but water is actually thicker than what I just got and then there's half cooked rice what the actual. And cold . Shocking 1st and last time garunteed

Used this restaurant twice in the last few weeks as our regular takeaway was closed. Food was very good, piping hot and delivery was fast. Would have gave a 5 but they forgot my fried rice with last takeaway order 😢

Two friends and I ate here as we were staying overnight in Larne. The food was very good, with reasonable sized portions and plenty of flavour. We plumped for a starter that had a bit of everything, chicken skewers, spring rolls, prawn toast, salt & chilli ribs, sweet & sour dip, saty dip, and it was delicious and plentiful. One of my mates and I ordered Kung Po combination each, but we’re given Sweet and Sour Combination. It was nice and there was loads of it but it wasn’t what we ordered, although it was not too much of a drama. The rice too was plentiful, and nice and fluffy. Drinks were priced reasonably well too and the overall bill was very fair. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was good without being outstanding. Would I return? Definitely and I would recommend in spite of the hiccup with my mates and my order, ultimately we all make mistakes. Be warned however, upon our visit, it was cash only.

We drove to this restaurant because it had a high rating however the service was horrible. We ordered pretty standard Chinese dishes like noodles, fried rice and mains. They made us wait for the order for an hour WHILE they continued to serve the seated customers as well as other takeaway customers that came after us. As much as we'd like to think otherwise, the action seemed racially motivated. It is also general courtesy for any food service business to offer a small complimentary gesture for such obscene delays but the owner/ receptionist did not offer as much as a can of coke.

Many occasions here celebrated in style. Although standards have dropped. I'd rather pay extra for nice chicken (fresh) not frozen and receive the best as the way yous have always been. Must be "just eat" ruinging reputations as usual. Stick with original delivery teammates. Prices or nothing to price is how it goes. Returning customers respect what's given to them in another store is dreadful. I could give many examples but I'm not that low and hope improvements happen immediately.

The lotus is one of the better Chinese restaurants in Larne and the only one that has sit on. Standard range of Chinese dishes at a standard price. While a lot of carry out restaurants can vary depending when you go to them, I have found them to be of consistent quality at all times.

Ordered a delivery, staff always lovely, arrived when it was due to and over the years I could never complain with sit in or delivery but tonight for whatever reason it was just disappointing! Thought I had ordered with fried rice but came with chips (little bit soggy) and although curry was tasty it just lacked something, a bit watery opposed to the usual more creamy. Sorry to say disappointed but hopefully better next time 🤞

Got from here tonight, stomach is in bits, severe stomach cramps and I’ve threw up 4 times. Cheers for the food poisoning guys.

Placed order over the phone was told the chicken came with chips as a meal. Collected order and took it home, no chips with the chicken. The chips I did order where tasteless and the chow mein was so greezy and tasteless it left an awful taste in your mouth. Needs huge improvement.

Simon made us feel most welcome, worked really hard to provide us with good food, it was delicious and we had a most relaxed evening. Will definitely go back.

We got takeaway from it, 4 audults. Loved it. Everyone's was tasty and not over loaded with salt and sugar as you would get in many places. Will be back there most definitely.

Place smells disgusting, it's also filled with tacky nick nacks and the woman behind the till stares at you like you have 2 heads. She stood at the bottom of the large room next to the kitchen watching me and my family as we waited on a take out as if we were aliens

We called into this restaurant as we were passing through Larne for the night. The restaurant was full but we were found a table. Staff were friendly and really helpful, food was great and reasonably priced, would absolutely recommend it. The only reason it dropped 1 star is because when it's full, it's full! I really struggled to move my chair, nothing to be done about it, just felt quite cramped

I had dinner 🥘 last night with my friend from Australia, we had the dinner for 2 , it was wonderful so full of flavour and served hot and was a very reasonable cost

As a group we went in at 11 o’clock, received top quality customer service by a lovely lady, followed by an amazing meal without the large bill, would recommend any day of the week, unbelievable.

Found this restaurant by accident whilst looking for another one. It was 9pm on a Friday night and we were starving and very tired after a long journey. Place wasn't very busy but was clean and welcoming. Didn't have to wait too long for our meals and there was certainly plenty of it. My Kung Po chicken was delicious. Curry very good too but we weren't so keen on the Char sui. In all a good experience. Would visit again if in the area.

Was on a wee trip round the Co Antrim Coast from Newtownabbey and decided to call in here on the way back for dinner. Sit in Chinese Restaurant's seem to be on the decline, so it was nice to see one still going strong. My partner and I where greeted by a nice gentleman, presuming he may be the owner, but nice all the same. We where shown to our table and given menus. After looking through the menu we opted for the set meal for 2 people. This was a good mix of starters, Soup and 3 different mains which rice. Each course was nicely presented and all the food was very tasty. Cannot fault it in anyway. Price is reasonalable for the type and quality off food. I find this much better than those "All you can eat type resturants" and next time I am in Larne I wll make a visit. Might even just take a trip down for dinner some evening.

We mainly use this restaurant on a take away basis and have never been disappointed with what we have received. Staff are always polite and the food is always produced to a good standard. Highly recommended A+++

We had a meal there midweek, not very busy in restaurant, but the phone kept ringing for deliveries and collections. The food was nice but not special.

Was very disappointed ribs in Peking sauce very bland on the plus side my husband enjoyed the curry and meal arrived warm

ordered a takeaway meal of chicken curry, sweet and sour prawns, egg fried rice. Best bit was the egg fried rice (with no egg), the rest was tasteless shall not use again cannot recommend the food from here

Called for tea and hadn't booked but Simon managed to fit us in. Lovely friendly staff and food to match.. must try is the char sui! My favourite but then everything is great Here! Only sit in Larne!

We chose one of the set meals shared between two. Everything was very tasty but the soup was rather gelatinous. Other than that we just wish the waitress could have smiled.

I got a home delivery Singapore fried rice looked yummy and spring rolls too.. they tasted of absolutely nothing honestly. ... The order in total came to over 20 pounds salted chilli chicken and chip were bland and left also to the side .. avoid

Definitely good, especially the onion and Munchie platter if u like bits a s pieces of everything.... fresh hot and ready on time taste but lack there of chop sticks makes me sad like... good eats but then again I miss my Chinese food when on vacation....

With a group of 12friends. Food came out in bits and pieces, few of the mains were cold when they arrived. Had to be asked to heat it up. Staff not very pleasant. One of our group did not even get her main until everyone else had nearly finished. After asking the not so smiley waitress 2-3 times for it and being grunted at. Not a great 1st time for this place. Wont rush back...

This place is my favourite Chinese in the town to get take out from but it's also a nice place to sit in and have a meal. They have large circular tables for larger parties and smaller tables for couples etc. The waiter is always lovely and they offer a BYOB service which is great! The food itself is always tasty and they are happy for you to request the food to be hotter/no mushrooms etc. The food is served quickly and full of flavour, you can tell it has just been prepared fresh.I've also eaten here as part of a work night out and they cater well to bigger parties, some restaurants in the town can't handle more than 4 people at a table but the Lotus Flower certainly can.I really couldn't recommend this place enough and I will be back eating here very soon! It's great value at around £10 per main course.

I always manage to eat here at least once during the week I visit my friends and relatives in Larne and the fact that they join me there speaks volumes about the food and the reception they receive. Will be back next year.

Fantastic starter had salted chilli scallops with crispy seaweed, then for the main we had a sizzling fillet steak with ginger and spring onion boiled rice and the wife had the same only with cantonese style, resturant was really busy on a saturday night, would really recommend booking a table oh and i nearly missed out the calypso coffees are the best in town, staff were great and simon manager really friendly

the food seems to get better what ever you ask for they can cook it,very friendly staff especially the manager Simon .and looks very well well now as they are getting it all done up. keep it up.will be back soon.

It is alright, food is good quality but the surroundings let's the place down. I would rate it higher if the décor was more appealing.

Very welcoming, cheery staff. We ordered European food , which came, after a short wait. The portions are mansized so be hungry when you go! The staff are attentive but not overly so . Next time we're in Larne, we'll be back for more good value eating.

First time here. The decor is average, and a better effort could be made. The service was fine.As for the starters, the prawn toast was poor, as were the vegetable rolls and the ribs. The prawns were really good however.Both the beef main courses were very good, with the curry being average. I had a taste of my friends steak and it was excellent.On the whole is is okay but could be a lot better.

Stayed up the coast for the weekend and fancied a nice Chinese on a Saturday night. Checked trip advisor and found this restaurant. On initial appearance all seem nice until my meal turned up. Chicken breast meat curry. The fried rice was lovely as was the curry sauce, the chicken breast on the other hand was a frozen breast with a few cuts across it, rubber is an understatement, wont be back. Was up at 3 in the morning, throwing up the little bit i did eat of my meal.

Situated in the centre of town so handy for meeting friends then heading on for a few drinks afterwards. The meals are big helpings and plenty of choice. You can bring your own wine which is good as you can bring something you like.

we regularly visit this local Chinese sit in restaurant and have never been disappointed, its a family owned concern with very nice helpful staff. The family have resided in Larne for years and are on first name terms with most customers. My favourite meal either in sit in or takeaway has to be the Char Siu chow mein, the roast pork is the best I have ever tasted anywhere, soft succulent and beautifully flavoured. Don't miss it if your in town.

Went there very late on a wet Tuesday night; everything else in Larne was closed. A very nice Chinese man welcomed us in and provided great service, a reasonable Chinese meal with beer and wine. We were very grateful as we'd seen many closed signs by that point. The food is basic; middle of the road really. Hence 3 stars.

My partner and I booked into this place on a Saturday evening around 8pm; I had finished work at 7. Simon the manager who runs it was there when my partner entered before myself; he stood behind his desk on his mobile and never spoke to her and only addressed me when I entered after locking the car. I had booked a table for two people and confirmed it again later in the week, yet he took us to one of the big round tables in the middle of the room. The table has enough space for 8 people and he sat us beside each other like brother and sister, which was not very pleasant to be honest. Simon then informed us that he had booked this table for 8 and the party was due to come in after 40mins so asked us if we would be willing to eat our meal and leave within 40mins, NOT ON! Needless to say I objected and said that I had booked a table for two and he did not have a reason, simply shrugged his shoulders. Disgusting customer service, he had clearly over booked and tried to get as much money as possible with no regard for his customers. I will not be back. The decor is cheap, the wall paper is discoloured, and the fish tank looks like it has not been cleaned. If you want a cheap looking, tasting meal then this is the place. The only positive is that you can bring your own drink...

The portion size was just right for lunch and chicken pieces were tender,sauce was not spicy and was tasty. The fried rice was just perfect!!!Definitely the best in Larne.Once again the BFM shares the food love!!! Ciao down now!!!

Thought we would try The Flower after having not visited for quite some time and we're not let down. The Decor remains the same, which is quite funny but quaint. The owner Tony has not changed at all. We ordered the following Chilli Prawns & butterfly Prawns. King Prawn Curry & deep Fried Chicken in a Peking Sauce. All Served Piping hot. Presentation was ok. But all the Flavours present. All in all we shall Revisit.
