New Loscoe Chinese Takeaway in Amber Valley

Not as nice, food was inedible took one bite of my chicken was rubbery and very chewy and bits were pink and raw very disappointed with experience used to use this Chinese when was little and never used to disappoint but my experience wasnt the best food.

Arrived at 10 45 to order food to find fat blonde shutting shop early with a notulant grin as i was going to go in didn't even bother to explain absolutely dire service it's a dam shame covid didn't destroy you who ever owns the restaurant get better staff I won't be using you again

Awful experience, Had all the family together on Christmas eve, ordered food for collection, told 1 hour, got there, waited another 40 mins. Got home (15 mins drive each way) wrong food. Went back changed food ( got home, wrong again!!.did not complain a second time.. lost the will will to live.) offered two us 2 cans of coke. Even MacDonald's would have been more customer focused than just two cans of coke it cost more in fuel to drive there and back twice. So we sat down to eat some two and three quarter hours after we first ordered the food. Food not as ordered and tasted poor. As if cooked by someone who does not know what they are doing We have used this place for 38 years and its going down the pan. During the last year the quality of the cooking has deteriorated. Tracy the nice lady on the counter had gone home unfortunately by 9.30 so we had to deal with some one from the back kitchen, who was frankly not bothered that we had been customers for 38 years of this takeaway ( I cannot imagine how much money we have spent there over the years)and that we were never going back. he then offered a "massive discount on our next order" if he was that bothered why did he not offer this on the disaster we had just encountered. We could have complained again when we finally got home for the second time and found that the food was incorrect AGAIN but it was getting on for 10pm and could not be bothered specifically considering we had originally ordered our food at 6.50pm almost 3 hours earlier. We will never use this place again because of this and the fact that our local Chinese has overtaken Loscoe in terms of quality and customer service. We used to drive from Ashby some years ago when we moved there because it was so good but sadly now overtaken by better local competition. Thanks for spoiling our Christmas eve !!!!!

Popped in for a fish cooked to order batter was lovely not thick and greasy like some places excellent

I moved to Loscoe 30+ years ago, tried the Chinese take away and have never left the take away since! I’ve lived in lots of places since but never found another Chinese that is so good, friendly and the quality of the food is consistently good. Tucked behind the bus stop it has always looked in need of a coat of paint but it is always busy. The best recommendation any food place can get.

I have been eating from here since I was a child when my parents would order food. The food is absolutely gorgeous, proper chicken excellent quality second to none. I have tried other Chinese takeaways in the area if this place is closed and it isn’t a patch on new Loscoe. Highly recommended. The taste and quality hasn’t changed since I can remember I’m now 39.

Good menu. Beautiful food. Friendly staff. Accept credit cards after £10. Highly recommended. Unfortunately they don't do desserts.

Well I would not have ventured in here for a takeaway, purely on the basis of the nasty looking exterior! However, we've now had meals from here four times, and the food is consistently the very best Chinese we have ever had! What an amazing place, I cannot recommend the food enough. If toy love Chinese, then come and try the New Loscoe.... You will not be dissapointed! And its really good value too, so an added bonus there.

We’ve been using new loscoe for over 30 years, and we still say it’s the best Chinese takeaway around. Tracey is lovely and has worked their years! Fantastic food, wouldn’t ever go anywhere else unless it’s Sunday, as they are closed Sundays! Can’t fault them!

always use these the portions are large and it is cooked just right. Allways hot and not to long to wait. Usually pick it up and its ready when we turn up. Have tried others and just not the same

Best Chinese in the area, travel 15 mins to this Chinese as it is worth it! Good quality food and reasonable collection times!! Only negative is that they don't do deliveries.

Personally prior to trying the New Loscoe Chinese takeaway I would only buy takeaway from a restaurant, my neighbours told me about this place and to be honest the food is as good if not better than restaurants, will certainly use it again.

This is the best Chinese we have tried in the area and I would definitely recommend it. Even if you have to wait because it can get very busy.

Order are completed asap great customer service as always and top quality food, in my opinion this is by far the best chinese takeaway in heanor/loscoe

Best Chinese takeaway I have ever had. Lady behind counter is lovely and knows the menu inside out. The food is piping hot and always of the same high standard. Would highly recommend.

Had a few takeaways from here now and have to say we cant fault it ,we ordered by phone only had to wait couple mins when went to collect,food was lovely and plenty of it ,,,, will be back ,,,

Esta es la mejor para llevar chino que he tenido. La comida es siempre caliente y deliciosa. Me niego a fin de ningún otro, que no valen pero confía en mí, vale la pena tener que coger el coche para la calidad de la comida. El personal es servicial es increíble, sus habitantes saben bien, genial también de las familias cuando jóvenes están esperando pacientemente para sus pedidos. Nunca nos dieron mal mi pedido! No me puedo quejar este Chino en todo! Lo recomiendo

We have used this Chinese takeaway for years, and as other people have said, the choice and quality is usually good. There is an issue with parking but not so much of a problem. However, the biggest problem facing anyone who walks in and places an order over the counter is that they must be prepared to wait while people who have phoned their orders through are served.This came to a head on Christmas Eve, admittedly a very busy time. From entering the takeaway at 6-50pm I waited almost an hour and a half before being served, although my order (and money) had been taken the moment I entered. In the meantime, orders were being taken over the phone with customers being told that their meal would be ready for collection in 30 minutes. True to form, customers duly arrived 30 minutes later, paid, and received their food within a very few minutes. THIS IS NOT RIGHT - TELEPHONE ORDERS SHOULD NOT TAKE PRIORITY OVER WALK-IN CUSTOMERS.It seems that the logic behind all this is to tell customers who are phoning an order through that their food will be ready in 30 minutes. For most people that's fine, but if they are told there is a longer delay then they may well take their business elsewhere, which the New Loscoe doesn't want to happen. This means that walk-in customers (who have already paid when they place their order) are forced to wait longer than they need to.To make matters worse, the food (when it eventually arrived) was not up to it's usual standard. The fried rice was one congealed lump and inedible. I think we'll be trying somewhere else next time.

Lovely food. A little bit more expensive than most Chinese. But it is worth it for the higher quality.Tracey on the desk is lovely, as are the other staff members.Don't feel unwell after eating from here, like most chineses. Very clean.

What can I say but excellent food good prices and friendly counter staff highly recommended. Parking can be an issue but most people park at petrol station opposite.

Lovely food. If you order over the phone, they give you a time to turn up. This is great as they are mostly on time and saves you hanging about. I know Tracey as a family friend and she works so hard. She runs the show out front. Staff are pleasant.Food is very nice, it is a little bit more expensive than others in the area, but it is worth it. Food is not greasy and you don't feel ill after eating it, like at some chineeses. Chicken balls are the best.

This is hands down one of the best Chinese takeaways in the area! They don't deliver but i don't mind turning out to fetch this, amazing tasty Chinese dishes at a very good price. I don't go anywhere else anymore. Parking is limited but theres a Spa garage across the road that you can park in whilst you fetch your food.

the food is always great here , the down side is the poor parking and they do not deliver , i have been having there food on and off for years and will continue to do so
