Very friendly, helpful staff, tasty roast dinners for all 6 in party and good vfm. Booked in advance but hardly any deserts left, 1 apple crumble left for dad (luckily) was nice, bread pudding and jam/coconut sponge tasteless, definitely not good; at least the dad of the day enjoyed his so that's the main thing. Was asked to leave the restaurant area, just over an hour after arriving, with drinks not quite finished and sit in bar so they could finish cleaning up the tables - not really appreciated. Overall I'd say nice but could do a tad better.

A good old family Sunday lunch out to celebrate my girlfriends birthday was what we wanted. A nice atmosphere in a friendly pub with good food and value for money. The place that was recommended was the new inn, llantrisant. So I booked a table. When we arrived our table wasn't ready and was told to wait in the bar. No problem. The bar was very busy with just one member of staff serving. But very polite and did their best to serve everybody as quickly as possible. We sat in the bar for 50 minutes waiting for our table. A absolute joke. What is the point in booking a table. Then when we got to the stage of receiving our meals. We received the smallest lunch ever. It seemed to be the remnants of food left over from the day. No wonder people say it is valve for money. They don't give you any food. Joke for start to finish. But very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere but the service and food quality just wasn't there. Which is so infuriating about it.

Went here for a family Sunday Lunch. The food was very nice and good value. The down side is that there was only 1 gentleman serving behind the bar. So a very long wait for a drink. Then we had to queue up for a long time to pay for our food. We were standing in the passage queuing. It was extremly busy in the pub as it was Fathers day but they were seriously under staffed. Maybe they need to employ extra staff and look at a different way to pay your bill ( maybe pay by the table). I would return again but prob on a normal Sunday not Fathers day.

The food here is quite good if you want pub grub. Real chips ! However, for some RIDICULOUS reason the "kitchen shuts at 8pm", and there is no flexibility here (8.08 on my watch). Now, I don't think that 8.30, even 9pm is particularly late for having supper....We are keen to support local business - but beware New Inn - AND other pubs up in Llan - you have just acquired plenty of competition down in Talbot Green, and if your not careful you are going to lose your customers. Don't complain that people do not support local businesses. (I have also spoken to someone else who had the exact same experience a week earlier - so the business is there!)

Perhaps a cold and wet Saturday lunch time was not the best time to visit to show this at its' best. It was a choice of sitting in the bar which had the regulars in there or going to the restaurant which is what we did ( and was not a good idea). The food was freshly cooked but as I waited I got colder and colder even though I had kept my coat on. The food was very hot which I was glad of, the chips were home made but cut thinly so they had gone crispy - which hubby does not like. The pie although crispy on top was soggy underneath although the filling was tasty. The garlic bread with cheese was a roll cut with garlic butter in the cut slices with a light sprinkling of cheese.Reading the comments it seems that Sunday lunchtime is the better time to visit to eat.

Desert comes with the meal. There is always a good selection, such as jam sponge with coconut, rice pudding, cheesecake, chocolate brownies, apple crumble, to name a few. This is a lovely spot in Tonypandy to have a coffee, a piece of cake and to relax and chat. Good coffee served by friendly staff
